Ignore the skewers here; this place is more of a noodle shop. The skewers are more of an afterthought. The skewers are too salty. The lamb, chicken, and chicken bones would be decent if it weren’t that salty. For noodles, I recommend 酸辣哨子麵(sour hot shao-zi noodles) and 老火浓汤牛肉麵(long-boiled beef noodle soup). 肉夾饃(pork bun) and 牛肉烤饼(beef bun) are both good. Overall, if you get anything that isn’t a skewer, the food is pretty good. Bring cash. $ 25 minimum for credit cards is the standard for Chinese skewer restaurants.

We ate here when it first opened and didn’t have a good experience. The place was not crowded but service was slow never the less. The food was nothing special and somewhat bland. This location has had a high turnover of restaurants. I’m hoping this place follows the trend and hopefully a new restaurant more up to par with the exceptional restaurants in the same strip.

Forgot to update my review when I came here last summer. The place was taken over by a new group of front staff. It is this really nice main lady and 1 other helper. Both are super friendly and sweet. It has been more than 6 months and the main lady remembered me when I walked this weekend. We got the usual but noticed they added some Korean food to the menu. We tried the lamb, mushroom, tofu, vegetable, beef skewers. We also got the spicy beef fried rice and cold noodles. I would skip the mushroom, tofu and vegetable skewer. The spices just doesn’t taste well on these and also they are thin items so it just became soft and soggy. The lamb and beef was great and tasted amazing as always. I love the spicy beef fried rice and the cold noodles was a pleasant surprise. It is actually Korean style with Korean sauce and noodles so don’t expect the Chinese cold noodles. Food was great but the service just made everything so much better. Love this place!

We wanted to give this place a try, since this is something different from what we normally go for. Skewers, skewers, skewers. We ordered one of each different meats. The chicken, beef, lamb, etc. First let me say, our waitress didn’t speak english every well, so pointing to the menu was the way we basically communicated. It felt like she was in a hurry to just take our order and leave, so she can watch whatever asian show it was on TV. When our skewers came out, EVERYTHING tasted the same. It was all marinated with the same marinade. I was expecting all different flavors for each skewer with different meats. But boy was I wrong. It tasted like lemon grass, soy sauce, garlic flavored marinade throughout each skewer. Not good at all. i would never come back here again. Service was horrible a long with the food.

Super slow service. Only one waitress and one chef are working. There are only 3 tables of customer and we waited 25mins for the first skewer to arrive. Food don’t taste good. The seasoning is flat and not tasty. Meat are chewy. All vegetables are SUPER greasy. You can squeeze ton of oil out(I put a drop of water to test). The corn is mushy. Though customer service at TLT is terrible but at least their food is tons much better.

Love this spot!!! They have great dishes that are reasonably priced. I highly recommend the sesame chicken and house fried rice. Also, the spicy chicken skewers are delicious, we always get a dozen or so. I’ve eaten at the restaurant, picked up to go, and used delivery and recommend all three– they have a great staff who is very friendly. The wait for food is a little long, but you can tell when you get it that it was made fresh.

Let’s just say I won’t eat here again. The quality and expectation of the food is far less than standard. The skewers were dry and tough. The Mongolian beef had all onions. The salt pepper chicken was really dry with small bits of chicken. I was pretty sad and for $ 33.06, I should have went to in and out at this time of night. I hope this place improves their quality of food.

First let me start off this review by saying the only reason I even gave this restaurant one star is because you have to in order to leave the review. when the delivery driver arrived at my hotel(30 minutes late) he gave me my food and I gave him the exact amount for my order. I did not give a tip because they were 30 minutes late .when I handed him the amount, he asked where his tip was, I explained that he was 30 minutes late and I would not tip for bad customer service, he then told me that he put five dollars in his gas tank to deliver my food and I walked off and said I would not be yelled at because I did not leave a tip! he then told me «you’re fucking cheap»!!! I called the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager and the lady told me that the owner was the one who delivered my food which I believe to be false this is the worst restaurant I’ve ever order delivery from the customer service is horrible and the food is just as bad!!! This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had and I’m not just saying this because of there poor customer service it’s really disgusting!

The food was pretty good but I wish they had other flavors. It seemed like they used the same spicy sauce for everything. I was starving so I ate a lot of it in the beginning but my mouth was burning and my stomach was turning. Please add regular flavors for the people who can’t handle spicy. Maybe just plain salt or teriyaki would be nice. It’s prob cheaper than what’s in your spicy sauce too! You’ll save money and your customers will be happier with a choice!

First of all, only been here twice, so this review will based on my two times dinning experience. SERVICE: Always attentive and nice people, the lady who took our orders was well mannered and friendly. FOOD/PRICE: Variety of choice and definitely some hidden gems in the menu, especially the tomato and egg noodle, very homey and comfort food. Plus all the skewer options, personally recommend mushroom, chicken, enokitake, eggplant, and beef shank. Side note, I like skewers with less spice and seasoning and they did follow my instruction and made the skewers how I want them to be done with fair price and big portions as well. Also got a $ 5 off coupon which is a nice add. ENVIRONMENT: Casual, the place is a little dim and also quiet, but homey and comfortable. The two times we came here weren’t a lot of costumers which is a big plus for me, not a big fan of big crowds and noise. Anyways, I am going to this place again tonight. Keep up the good works!

I think I like this place better compared to TLT and FTBBQ. I really liked the pig ears in spicy hot oil, chicken corn soup, spicy fried rice. For the bbq, I like how its less sauced and spices up. Some skewers have social sauce. I really liked the tendons, squid, beef, gizzards, chives. Very empty and not busy at all for Thursday dinner.

It was my first time trying out skewers so I didn’t really have any expectations for this place. We came here maybe an hour before this place closed. I felt kind of bad from coming in so later, but we were so hungry after a long day of adventure. Also, it was the only few restaurants around that were opened. We were seated and were given the menus and tea upon our arrival. My friend did the ordering since I didn’t really know how to order or what to order. We ended up getting the beef, lamb, chicken, mushroom, gizzards, hearts, veggie skewers along with the golden fried rice. The food didn’t take that long to come out. Everything came out at the same time since we were pretty much the only ones there. The skewers were decent since I didn’t have much expectations. It wasn’t the oh-my-gosh kind of good, but it was just decent, could be better kind of thing. The spice was interesting though and I guess I kind of liked that. The fried rice was okay, but I thought it was a nice toned down thing to go with the more heavily spiced skewers. Overall, it was an interesting dinning experience. I’ll most likely try other places out first and all. This place is just okay and I may come back if I had to.

Lamb skewer is by far the best. Had the chicken and beef too which were not bad. Mushroom skewer was good, but eat it while it is hot. Chives were good, spicy rice was good. Ok, I ate a lot! Stop judging ;-) I go to a fun place like this and it is hard not to try everything. I would normally only give the place 4 stars but so many others were unreasonably harsh I gave them an extra sympathy star. They are definitely trying hard to please and work hard. We can’t all be perfect right? Free hot tea was a nice touch. Love these types of restaurants. Hope to see more in the future. Keep up the good work and don’t take the haters too seriously. Thanks!

The chicken chow mein noodles and the beef noodle soup here are pretty good. The beef noodle soup is pretty spicy and oily. There’s some lean beef in it and some other weird meat parts which I wasn’t a big fan of. The noodles on the soup were cooked well. The chow mein was tasty. It definitely could have had more chicken. The noodles were tasty though and this was probably the best dish we tried here. Bf got two of the beef skewers and he did not like them. He said it didn’t really taste like beef because it had a really condensed, thick weird texture to it. I didn’t like how this place had a $ 25 minimum to use your credit card. It’s incredibly ridiculous and I’ve never seen anything like that anywhere else before. Service is a bit slow even though this place wasn’t really that crowded. Overall sure I’d be back as it’s kind of pricy for the food you’re gettin.

2.5 stars I’m on the fence about this place. It’s fairly new, so it may just be in the midst of growing pains. Definitely needs an alcohol license though. We came for the skewers and not for the chinese food on the menu and were, for the most part, pleased with our selections. Wait, we ordered the dumplings which were cheap and pretty decent. Back to the skewers – the dry rub is tasty, especially on the chicken and lamb skewers. However, it was heavily slathered on everything and there was no variety in taste. Presentation is a bit sloppy. Skewers sometimes came out on a platter and sometimes the servers brought it out to your table holding it in their hands. Weird. It would also have been nice to to have a little jar/container to hold the used skewers. Also, don’t order the«sausage» skewer. It’s just a straight up hot dog – like ballpark frank hot dog. I kid you not.

Great food great service and open late! Can’t really beat those combos. Especially in Fremont where the rest of the city is asleep after 9pm. The Lamb screwers were the best, followed by a close 2nd is the beef. We ordered 3 and 3 which was just perfect for a night cap or 4th meal after we got done with the Warriors game. We tried the tendons and they were alot more on the stick than TLT bbq. We came here as an alternative cuz the staff at TLT is like dealing with the three stooges. This place wasn’t as busy and the food came right away. We also tried the veggies on the stick including the chives, peepers and lettuce. The corn is real great with these types of street foods you would find in Shanghai and Beijing and filling. Service was good and food was good. I do want to come back and try the spicy noodle soups next time.

We came in to this restaurant because of the name of it. It is a Taiwan city’s name. As soon as we stepped in, I felt that this place is owned by a Chinese, not a Taiwanese. The food is not too bad, but not fresh enough to me. We ordered Beef Chow Meiw, $ 8.99. It is OK. BBQ Chicken Gristle $ 1.49, Chicken $ 1.39, Lamb $ 1.59, and Squid $ 1.99. These BBQ were OK to me, but not what I expected. Or say, these were not what I had tried in Taiwan before. They asked me to pay cash.

The beef noodle soup tasted good but unfortunately the meat was a bit tough. The golden fried rice was a bit tastless. I really liked the chicken grislette, chicken gizzard, chinese chives(A Choy), lamb, and spicy oily noodle, etc. But I don’t really the mushroom(soggy) or bacon mushroom(bacon wasn’t crispy), chicken wing(OK) and prawn(not that great)/ I would loved to try their spicy fried rice, stir fried noodle, tomato egg noodle, dumplings and mango shaved ice next time.

Oh the former QQ Noodle and then Totto Noodle House has vanquished and now has become a Chinese BBQ place called G. G Skewers, which stands for Golden Gate Skewers. My first visit was last Friday, September 19, 2014. I hadn’t written a review because I was planning on coming back with a friend but sadly that didn’t happen because this place changed their business hours from Friday when I was just last here only like a few days ago!!! We arrived, on Friday and boy let me tell you the restaurant has completely changed from before when it was the noodle houses. The whole atmosphere had changed, it is now more of a dark atmosphere, with dim lighting. The lighting is kinda horrible and too dark in my opinion. They’ve added hanging lights to the ceiling, so they don’t use the regular ceiling lights. Which makes it pretty dark because it’s really dimly lit. The menu is not vast, it is very limited. The menu is in both English and Chinese. They have a few noodle and rice dishes, and some appetizer dishes. Then there is the Skewers part of the menu, which while only being 1 page of the menu, has many different types of Skewer options. You can choose from Beef, Chicken, Chicken Wings, Frog Legs, and more each having their own price point. We had a few skewers and they weren’t anything special at all. The meat is all marinated in the same sauce and yeah well you know how that is, it’s pretty boring. The sauce is like a mild spicy kuman type sauce, nothing too outstanding. We also had an order of the Jia Jian Mein, which is Soy Bean Paste Noodle. It’s nothing too special either. I’d say it’s your typical Jia Jian Mein you’d get at any other Chinese restaurant. Then there was the Golden Fried Rice, where do I begin about that. What was golden about it, nothing much really. Perhaps they thought the color would suffice for the name… LOL. It was definitely nothing too rave about it, it was really plain fried rice with little tiny pieces of shrimp… The Customer Service was alright. It’s a Chinese restaurant, so you really can’t expect much from them on service. I mean there wasn’t anything really wrong with it, but still seemed a bit lacking at times.\ I’m definitely not a fan of the place. Originally, I would have given this a 3 for the first experience, and possibly even higher if the second visit with my friend had happened and was good. It’s too bad that the second visit didn’t end up happening because they decided to change the hours from Friday and not open for lunch. They’ve not just lost any ordinary customer, but one that Unilocal too! Sucks for them. Seeing new restaurants open up in my area is nice for a change, sadly this one doesn’t make me happy :(

Stumbled upon this place when my boyfriend needed to go to the vape shop a few stores down. We were originally going to have sushi for dinner, but we decided to give this place a try. I believe this place was formerly QQ Noodle. But now that this place is different, I totally don’t mind! This place’s food is really good.(Bonus if you like it spicy!) We walked in and were quickly given menus. The servers are really nice and attentive. They always walked around to refill everyone’s waters and checked up on tables. Their skewers were affordable and delicious. You get edamame as a starter, but this was the only thing I didn’t like. I think they boiled them in something that didn’t taste good. We also got pickled seaweed. If I remember correctly, we got beef, squid, chicken, and mushroom. They all have a spicy powder on it so let them know if you would like to have less or more.(Warning: the mushrooms were super spicy, but good of course.) We also ordered a noodle dish with bokchoy and beef. That was spicy as well but so good! If you are looking for a cheap but awesome meal, this is the place. Just have your taste buds prepare for the heat!
