Sadly they have gone out of business. Why??? This place was awesome, always my first(and second.) stop when visiting my family from New York(aka the land of sad burritos). What am I going to do now?

I have been meaning to review Juan More Taco for some time and today’s the day! First of all, what an adorable name. Second, the servers are incredibly friendly and hospitable! I felt like we were eating in someone’s home. They were also helpful in providing suggestions for what we should try. I don’t remember everything we ate, but the pupusas were bomb. Definitely order one to try because I don’t know how many places in the Bay Area make pupusas. Juan More Taco is a great place to go to share good, hearty food with a group of people.

Great prices. Delicious food. Tacos for $ 1.50, a great deal. Faves are carnitas & chorizo. The cammarones taco for $ 2.50 is possibly worth it from time to time. One of these days I’ll make it there for breakfast. I wonder if they’re open to the idea of franchising.

2nd time to Juan More Taco. This time I got the Burrito Ahogado — Wet Burrito w/lengua(tongue) $ 6.25. The guy made it a regular burrito, but then the lady noticed & brought it back. I got it to go so ate it at home. Only ate ½, so I have dinner for tomorrow. Burrito is pretty tasty, wish there was more sauce & more guac. Lots of meat, beans, & rice. FREE chips with my burrito. $ 6.25 + tax = $ 6.86. Credit cards taken, I paid in Cash.

For the first time, I have to take away stars. =/I went back yesterday, and they had no lengua or chile verde. The pupusa didn’t taste quite the same as last time, it had almost a bit of a cardboard taste to it. Also, my friend got a shrimp burrito, which he could barely eat. I tried one of his shrimp, and it was wierd– it was cooked perfectly, but it just didn’t taste right. We both agreed that it tasted«old.» Like maybe it had been frozen for a loooong time. It was pretty bad. Now I’m not so sure I’ll come back, or at least will just stick to lengua tacos and hot dogs. Hopefully those stay consistent. =/

Sadly, Juan More Taco has closed. – I’ve been meaning to update my review for Juan More Taco for a while now, as it has been under new ownership. The décor is much more subdued now, with textured walls and the flags of El Salvador and Mexico on the wall. The owner is an incredibly sweet lady and she makes wonderful pupusas. Yes, pupusas! Why didn’t they come into my life sooner? Masa stuffed with delicious fillings(I get bean and cheese, and sometimes some veggies) and grilled so that the cheese oozes out a little and makes a delicious crisp crust. They’re served with pickled cabbage and a special, zesty salsa, and they’re great. What also is great are the chiles rellenos. A chile relleno is kind of the benchmark for a Mexican restaurant for me. They’re a lot of effort to make, and the amount of effort that a place puts into making them says a lot to me. Well, they’re perfect here. The chiles are fire-roasted and sweet and all the seeds and membranes have been removed(almost every other place I’ve been doesn’t bother to clean the inside of the chiles well enough and doesn’t fire roast the chile enough to bring out the sweetness). The sauce is just like my aunt(who is from Mexico) taught me to make — it’s not the same sauce that’s on the enchiladas, but a thinner, lighter one with sauteed onions. Also good here are the sopes — deep fried corn cakes topped like a tostada. There’s a fridge full of Mexican sodas and great fresh chips and salsa, too.

Fresh chicken in my tacos, non-oily corn tortillas, home-made soup, what more could you want? I prefer the chicken taco to the chorizo taco I dropped one star because they didn’t have their home-made tamarindos and horchatas up — they said it’s only available in summer. I don’t think they get too much business, unlike tacquerias in Menlo Park or similar. They don’t use butter in any of their items. Great even for my son, who’s allergic to dairy. They charge extra for chips and salsa which was a bummer, but again, it’s probably because they don’t get the volume of business other tack’s get. I definitely prefer them to La Salsa, which has the stinkiest, frozen chicken smell in their tacos and salads. i mean gross… Overall, I’ll definitely go to JM’s again. I recommend sticking to the tacos and soups…

Slightly tacky name, good food. Another good place in this miraculous strip mall in Fremont. Crazy. While the décor leaves a little to be desired, it is clean and functional and quiet which is nice too. Our server was very sweet and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The food is all clearly homemade with great ingredients. I had the camarones de ajo which was very tasty, just what I wanted. The rice and beans were good, pretty standard. I thought the flour tortillas were really good. I don’t know if they made them, but they were cooked to perfection, just slightly crispy and didn’t try to fall apart. I also had a pupusa which was good although not as good as some I have had. My partner in crime had the enchiladas and declared Juan More Taco the best Mexican food in NoCal. I think he is prone to exaggeration and I don’t feed him Mexican as often as he would like. Still, I think we will go back and enjoy other selections.

Went in here on a very hungover Sunday looking for some of my favorite Mexican soup, Pozole. After a quick Unilocal search, I found this place offers it and dragged the boyfriend along. He’s lucky enough to get the good stuff at home and is very picky when it comes to Mexican restaurants. He ordered the Menudo while I got the Pozole and after a short wait we were both almost giddy when the huge bowls were presented in front of us. Both soups were phenomenal and very nice portions. The one area that I wimped out in was the fact that my Pozole had pig ears in it… which I wasn’t used to. After setting them aside, they didn’t deter me from finishing my soup :)

3 star review based on single experience during lunch. Was in the area and needed to kill time. Unilocal to the rescue! Well… sort of. I’ll start with the basics — the burrito. Farely priced yet pretty bland and unspecial. Maybe I should have paid extra for the guac and sour cream, but my burrito only had rice, refried beans(yuck), and my steak. Eh, never again. My drink, however, was AMAZING. I ordered a home-made horchata, pleasantly topped with cinnamon :). The best I’ve ever had. Cheap, too. The guy working was very friendly and quick to serve, but the burrito left a terrible impression on me. Great horchata, but not enough to bump the rating to 4 stars. Good chips, by the way. Next time, I’ll likely give the taco truck nearby a shot…

Juan More Taco is like eating dinner at your favorite latin friends mom’s place for dinner. The owner is a sweet and pleasant woman who is more than willing to provide recommendations of el salvadorian or mexican cuisine. We went with chicharron pupusas, enchiladas, and a torta with some orange jarritos. The pupusas were tasty — grilled cripsy but very soft and flavorful — the cheese and meat accenting the dough nicely. The pickled cabbage and vinegar were an authentic and great touch. The torta was served with a heavy dose of sauce, meat tender and flavorful. The pork enchiladas were soft and dissolve-in-your-mouth tasty. Overall, juan more taco impressed me with its authentic and flavorful foods, coupled with really great prices and SUPER kind homey service. Definitely try this place.

Yes, please Juan More Taco! I had 3 to be exact, and they were filling and not greasy like Chalateco! I couldn’t get to my Tostada de Ceviche. There were just too many folks at Satomi. I fell in love with their Pupusas after reading about them on Unilocal.I am hooked. Yes, they do take 20 min. and are great dipped in the vinegar and pickled cabbage. A nice cold Corona was an excellent pairing. I’ll be going back to try their hot chocolate. **Update: The hot chocolate is wonderful served hot on a cold winter day and sweet but not too sweet with rich chocolate flavor and spice. The salsa is spicy! Yes, I Juan more!

Was in the mood for some El Salvadorean Pupusas(sounds kinda’ funny), so I went onto my iPhone Unilocal App and found some good reviews on this place. They got a pretty good menu selection, but I decided to satisfy my craving and went for their Chicharron Pupusa(pork and cheese) and Revueltas(pork, bean, and cheese). The owner warned me it would take 20 minutes, but I figured I came here to try it, so I decided to wait. The wait was worth it, as the pupusas were fresh made. The freshly grilled masa and melted cheese inside really made the dish. They were only $ 2.50 each! It was definitely very clean, and the owner was super friendly.

I have been here a few times I boosted them up from a 3 star to a 4 star because how nice the owner is. Like most people have comented, she is super friendly. Some of the items I have tried Jaun Dog — Pretty much a hot dog with bacon and jalapenos. It tastes good but its an item you could easily make at home. Tacos — Carnitas tacos were delicious. Al pastor was good but no where near as good as the carnitas. Tamale — These had a good flavor but the texture was a little dry.

Cheap, tasty, friendly and they don’t f*ck up my order. What more can I ask for? Their tacos are wonderful. I prefer the carnitas over the rest of the meat selections. The seasoning, in my opinion, is dead on. They cook it a little longer than usual which leads to crispy tips on the pork, yay! You also MUST have their horchata! THEBEST I’ve tried to date-not too sweet and not watered down with lots of cinnamon! Yuuuum! The service is always so warm and welcoming. As I said earlier, they’ve never screwed up my order and they’re pretty quick. Parking can be a bit of a pain. They share a parking lot with the rest of the strip mall, but it is often quite crowded-to no fault of Juan More Taco hence me not subtracting a star. I only wish they were a late-night spot so I can get my taco/nacho/burrito/horchata fix at 2am: D Kudos, guys!

This place rocks. The menu is standard but the food is great. The lady who owns the place is so nice and friendly. The Pupusas are awesome. Definitely a treat for something different. Call ahead or be prepared to wait. They take about 15 – 20 minutes. The horchata is nice and tasty. The burrito’s are huge. Taco’s are cheap and the meats are flavorful. Can’t complain at all. The prices are totally reasonable and budget friendly. Chips and Salsa are good as well. So glad this is nice and close. Its great to have a good mexican place nearby.

What a find! Tasty food at very, very good prices! I had carne asada tacos and the meat was really good quality, well seasoned. My sweetie had steak ranchero and liked it a lot. Another big plus is they have our favorite beer, Negro Modelo(much more reasonably priced than anywhere else we’ve tried). It’s a bit of a hole in the wall but it’s neat and clean. It’s family owned and the sons were doing the serving(and probably the cooking, too, although I never saw the cook). I was going to try their pupusas but the son said his mother makes those and she wasn’t there. To give an idea of how reasonable their prices are, we had the food already mentioned plus three Negro Modelos and the total bill was $ 25.00. I’m blown away by how low their prices are. There are lots of things on their menu I want to try next time, including camarones de ajo(garlic shrimp). They also have camarones diablo, of course(but I can’t stand the«hot»). Oh, yes, almost forgot — for people who are connoisseurs of Coca Cola, this place has the real deal — real Coke, made with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. I’ve known people who would drive many miles to get one of these! We’ll definitely be back!”

Really more like 3.5 stars. This is your hole in the wall mom and pop taqueria place, this place has pretty limited selection of food but the service was good. Their menu is very basic with burritos, tacos, tortas and the such do not expect the super combo type menus at different taquerias. The food came out pretty quick, the chips and salsa were pretty good but they only had one kind of salsa so if you don’t like it too bad, fortunately it was pretty good with the chips. I had a Juan Burrito with Pollo because were out of Al Pastor … the burrito was filling but it was nothing special about it. Given the price I would come back again but than again there are a lot of different mexican places in the area.

So, my freng and I, we was hungry aye. So we decided to grab some tacos, pero the burrito place downg the street was too crowded. He said, «Oye chica, how ’bout Juan More Taco, eh?» I said, «Wajoo mean one more taco, Mono(monkey)? I didn’t even have one!» He say, «Jajaja! Nooo chica. Juan More Taco, the one on Thornton!» I said, «Alright dude, enough with the vato accents. I’m seriously really hungry. Not cool.» He said, «Okey. Wateber ju wan.» So we pulled up in his yucket(yucky+bucket) and everyone was all staring at us. I was like, «No soy el dueño de este burro, lo rente.»(I don’t own that donkey, its a rental.) And the lady(so nice!) smiled and took our order. She had Telemundo blasting! It reminded me of my grandmother, who by the way, only speaks Español and watches it 24 – 7. Anyway, I ordered mini chimichangas($ 1.50 each, but requires a minimum of 3). They were filled with shredded carne asada and refried beans and made a very delicious snack! Their burritos are big enough for two and they make them muy rapido! They also serve breakfast here, both American and traditional Mexican. If you have no yob and don’t feel like eating at Yack in the Box, Juan More Taco is inexpensive, fast, and jummy.

3.5 Stars but they are sweet as heck here. I have seen this place time and time again since I’ve eaten at Satomi Sushi, Maharlika and QQ Noodle which all share this plaza. But I really did underestimate this place because the food is pretty good! It has the normal taqueria-type feel where you just order it at the counter and eat it there or wherever but since we had a group of 7 people, the lady treated us as if we were in a restaurant! We put some tables together and she acted as our server. We even got delicious chips and salsa. I loved that! Some of the pictures on the menu are unclear but I decided to go with the Burrito Ahogado(wet burrito) which ened up looking 10x better in real lief and was delicious. It was surrounded with red sauce and topped with globs of sour cream, salsa, and guacamole in their own 1⁄3 sections. For $ 6.75, I was really surprised at how restaurant-like it looked. The carne asada wasn’t too die for and not as juicy as I’ve had but I wasn’t expecting much. The burrito was generously stuffed with meat, rice, and beans though. My coworkers also had some good looking plates: camarones, chimichanga, quesadilla, and Juan hot dogs. Comparatively, this is not the best wet burrito or even Mexican food that I’ve had but I could tell that they made a huge effort to make things fresh and yummy(in taste and presentation). The lady was extremely friendly to us the entire time and didn’t mind at all when we requested separate checks. And she even boxed up our leftovers for us!
