Their tacos are the bomb!!! In my opinion this spot is the best for tacos in all of Fremont. My favorite are the tacos de chorizo, buche, y pastor. So good.

Love everything here. The wait sucks but that’s what you have to do when you want your food fresh. I’ll take this place anytime over most of the larger trucks nearby. Salsa is ahhhhhmazing!

This place is a food trailer located on the corner of Peralta and Maple. Good excellent affordable mexican food. This the place where I always order the al pastor tacos. I love tacos. If I want a quick snack get a taco or two. If I’m hungry I’ll get more tacos!

One of the best places I’ve ever had a steak & shrimp burrito from! Their tacos are awesome too, and they’re very prompt in preparing your food. You never have to wait long, and even if you did it’s sooo worth the wait.

Had to wait 15 min for 4 tacos! Asada, al pastor, buche had no flavor. Not worth it. I give the carrots 5 stars.

I like this place, but need to take some time off. The food can be really addicting, and in my case I’ve had it so much I’m sick of it for the time being. Pros — Good, cheap food, and quick friendly service. The red sauce is watery but still tastes great. Cons — Quesadilla has too much cheese, could ask for less. The hog maws and intestines are occasionally off. Burrito with shrimp was really bad. You can get most everything on the menu for $ 7 or less, and they are usually open until around 6:30 pm including Saturdays, but their hours are pretty inconsistent.

Since I’ve been really sick and nothing tastes like anything… My boyfriend decided to treat me to anything I want. I ended up picking Mexican food and then it was only a matter of where we would go. At around 6:30pm, not a lot of taco trucks are open anymore so we ended up at Tacos El Compadre. The food here is amazing! The portions are large so the price kinda fits(except it does seem like they raised the prices on the menu!) We got a super chicken burrito, super carne asada quesadilla, and shrimp taco. The total came out to be $ 16 and I tipped a dollar. Chicken Super Burrito — The rice is so fluffy and moist! The chicken is well cooked, juicy, and flavorful. There seemed to be quite a bit more rice than chicken, but overall it still tasted good, thanks to the sour cream and guacamole. Hopefully they’ll be more generous with the chicken next time? Carne Asada Super Quesadilla — Amazing, flavorful, thick pieces of delicious goodness. They wrap up their quesadilla more like a burrito style vs. thin pancakes. I took a pizza cutter and cut them into small slices because it was too much for me to eat. The carne aside was really good mixed with the guacamole and sour cream and was really juicy as well, similar to the chicken in our burrito. Shrimp taco — Shrimp was perfectly cooked and was juicy as well! Might be one of the best shrimp tacos I’ve ever had. While they didn’t skimp on the shrimp in my taco, the price was kinda a lot for one taco so I might not get it every time. Our to-go bag came with random veggies/condiments as a side and a small container of their salsa. Overall, we really, really enjoyed our food and agree that the food his is comparable to our other favorite taco truck in Fremont/Niles area. The guy who took our order was nice! He even smiles!(: Will be back!

Meh. That’s the best way to describe Tacos El Compadre. It really is, in so many ways, a big letdown. TEC is not a food truck, it’s a food trailer. I thought that was kind of cool. Mixing things up a bit. It looks promising from the outside. The trailer is clean, well decorated and it has a table attached to it so you can stand and eat your food. But as we all know looks can be very deceiving. It’s kinda like bringing home a hot girl from the bar and waking up next to an unattractive chick without makeup on. Yeah, I said it! TACOSALPASTOR ~ $ 1.50 each ~ 2 stars: The meat lacked flavor. The salsa was bland. I requested spicy. All I got was sh*tty. The only thing going for this taco was the fresh slice of pineapple on top. TACOSASADA ~ $ 1.50 each ~ 2 stars: Same problems as the al pastor — no flavor, very bland. TACOSCABEZA ~ $ 1.50 each ~ 3 stars: The best taco I had at TEC but it was just ok. Packed a little more flavor and the meat was cooked very well. Tender is the word that comes to mind. TACOSCARNITAS ~ $ 1.50 each ~ 2 stars: Tasted like an average cook made these in a crock pot with store bought packaged seasoning. Nothing special. If you’re in the Fremont area, skip Tacos El Compadre and check out Tacos Negris, Mexico Tipico Taco Truck, Tacos La Perla or Tacos El Chavo. Any one of them blows TEC out of the water.

The 2 gentlemen that took my order and prepared the food were cordial and friendly. Service was quick. Al pastor quesadilla($ 5, cash only) was okay, not amazing though. –Visually it was the normal amount of greasy but seemed unusually heavier in my belly(moreso than Farolito’s and Taqueria Los Gallos’ Al pastor quesadillas that I enjoy immensely). –prefer for the pork to have more flavor and to be more tender; quality of meat was below average — tougher, fattier, not as well seasoned –only one type of salsa and it was not very memorable. The gentleman who gave me my food kindly gave me an extra container of salsa when I requested it though. Not bad but won’t be back.

I’ve been here so many times and the quality is the same every time. The carnitas on the taco is so crispy it’s like lettuce made out of bacon! Second favorite is the shrimp tacos followed by the fish. The guys are always happy and it’s a great place to get food. Paramedic approved!

My boyfriend wanted me to try this place so he took me here one night, roughly 5 minutes before closing. The man was nice and helped answer all our questions regarding the menu as best he could – he didn’t speak very good English. We ordered chicken tacos, a spicy pork taco(for my boyfriend), fish taco, and a steak taco. All the tacos were really good, full of flavor, especially spice. When we ordered, I told the guy what I wanted, and my boyfriend told him what he wanted. The guy said he would give us two separate plates so we can differentiate from our order. Once we got our order, we saw a bottle of red sauce and asked if we could try it. Instead of letting us try it, he poured us a good amount in a small plastic container for us, which I thought was really nice, so we tipped him. When looking at our plates, we realized he didn’t separate our orders, he just tossed them all randomly, which is fine. I picked up the steak taco and it dripped of sauce. It was pretty good, a bit over cooked actually. The fish tacos were good, the tomatoes and cilantro was a bit overpowering but still enjoyable. I was iffy about the chicken because usually chicken is extremely dry. But the chicken in the taco were very moist and flavorful! When I came to eat my last chicken taco, I was wondering why it was so damn spicy… I couldn’t pinpoint why only ONE chicken taco was so much spicier than the other. It was then I realized it was actually the spicy pork taco! I wish the guy would have told us which one was the spicy pork taco because I couldn’t enjoy it… It was too spicy for me, I couldn’t taste anything afterwards. The only downfall about the tacos were the tortillas were drenched in oil. I mean you can pinch the tortillas and a lot of oil will drip from it. It grossed me out… It left a pool of oil on my paper plate when I was done. Other than that, I thought it was good and I would go back. I think the chicken tacos would be my favorite, it had surprised me with its moistness and its flavor in the chicken. Very good.

**3.5** Big honkin’ carnitas burrito. I ordered with no beans. Please, no beans, but give me the rice! I felt like there needed to be a little more meat. This was a GOOD burrito, okay, maybe very good. But some people are saying«this is the best burrito I’ve ever had in my life». It’s definitely not on that level. People, let’s calm down a little bit. This El Compadre truck is not in my hood, but I’ve got that other Korean/Mexican fusion food truck that **is** in my hood, and so I’m not crushed. I really like their short rib burrito! Forget the name of that truck, Mogi? Anyway, solid Mexican street food, coming out of this truck. No complaints. Go enjoy!

I tried this taco truck last night and just returned today. I was only visiting a friend in Fremont so I had to eat here again before I left! I got a pastor super burrito for $ 7. This burrito was bigger and better than any super burrito I’ve had in my life! I’m picky so here is the detail of my critique: Heated flaky tortilla Hand shredded melted Monterrey jack cheese(none of that pre shredded mixed bag crap) Flavorful finely chopped pastor Pinto beans Creamy sour cream Moist flavorful rice Bomb guacamole The ingredients were evenly distributed. Too often I’ve ordered a burrito somewhere and they fill it up with rice to make it big. Not here! I’d come all the way to Fremont to get a burrito again!

Pretty legit taco trailer. I’ve now found 4 very legit taco trucks in this ½ mile radius in Centerville, whatta score! Orders come out kinda slow, but at least it is done right. Patience is required here, so don’t come in a hurry and get all pissy. Pastor is the shit here. Not terribly aggressive on the spicing but you know its pastor. They crisp it nice before serving, so nice. And they topped my taco with a couple of thin slices of pineapple, so legit, so niiicccee! I could eat 10 of these mofos, don’t judge ME! Carne asada a little bland here, so skip that. Lengua not bad. Carnitas are proper as well so maybe they have a defter hand with the pig rather than the cow. If you want beef get the Asada at the Fiesta truck literally down the street, much better. But for pastor this is in my top 3 for the area. Your welcome.

We stumbled across this taco truck in a strip mall parking lot while wandering around Fremont — a bit off the beaten path if you’re in Fremont for no reason. I orderd the Torta de Milanesa because I wanted something more substantial than tacos, but less food-coma inducing than a burrito. I miscalculated though, because these tortas are humongous. They are basically the size of a burrito if not larger. The torta itself was delicious — note that the Milanesa here is beef(and not chicken as sometimes it is at other places). Comes with the standard lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo, but also with cheese and guacamole at no extra charge. For $ 6.50 this is hard to beat. Note that they can be a little slow when busy(there were five of us) — be prepared to wait a bit while they make your food.
