Great promotions, go during their happy hours! love how they sell alcohol in there(most good sound system places don’t) Great service, clean environment, nice staff, love the rooms. Songs are not as updated as music tunnel, but still enough for you to sing the whole night.

Out with the boys last night!!! This karaōke place in Fremont needs to add more English songs in their selection and oh dear, the entire menu on their touchscreen is in Chinese… for everyone’s sake please translate the menu in English… not everyone can read Chinese We were in a small room and what makes it worst is that the AC was not working… we complained and we were told that the AC on all small rooms don’t work! Why did they accept our reservation then? Terrible!!! On a positive note, the place is in a very nice location, is very clean and the rooms have different themes and well designed. I saw some of them on my way to the restroom where some doors of the empty rooms were left open. My son liked the chicken nuggets and the ramen and chicken popcorn were good but the calamari was poorly cooked There is a button to press when you need service and the servers were quick to come… be sure to be very specific with what you need though, we asked for an extra bowl for the ramen and we were given the big serving bowl instead of the smaller personal sized one… oh and don’t forget the chopsticks and spoon in case they give you the big bowl just so you won’t drown slurping the soup

My experience at Ichibox definitely falls on the lower end of karaōke experiences I have had. A group of friends and I came here on a Saturday night around 12:40am. The song selection is decent but its English selection is a little lacking for more recent songs, but that was not the problem I had with this business tonight. My friends and I actually had a great time and stayed for a full hour(hence, 2 stars instead of just 1). At that point of our night, I would have likely considered going back. However, my experience turned sour when it was time to pay. At first they tried to charge us for 2 hours instead of just 1, even though we definitely were only there for one hour. The cashier ringing us up seemed a little confused but changed the price to just one hour. At that point, another employee(who was working behind the bar at the time) argued with us for a that we were there for two hours. He was extremely rude and unprofessional about it. He even started to bicker with my friend in Chinese. Thankfully we got out of there quickly after paying, but even as we were walking and getting into the car we could see the second man gesturing to us angrily through the window. Ichibox has lost my business forever and gained another negative review. If you choose to come here, I would recommend clearly recording the time you began with the employees, because from my experience, they don’t keep very good track of it at all and because of that, it is very easy for them to try to rip you off.

I was quite happy to hear about a new karaōke place(especially in Fremont!) However, I’m sure those who’ve showed interest in this place have also all heard that the song selection is relatively limited and that Ichibox is on the pricier side. Well I’m here to address those two top concerns; I was here on the Saturday afternoon without a reservation. But was able to get«seated» right away. There’s a no outside food/drinks policy – which is pretty standard at karaōke places. Interior is definitely ONFLEEK! I know decoration shouldn’t be the most important thing, BUT, it is to me. We opt for no bottle service(since we were just here to get some impromptu karaōke fix satisfied) 2.5hrs of the small booth rang up to around $ 80(not including tips) which is reasonable to me for what this place has to offer. I would sing here again :) and perhaps even for bigger parties in the themed rooms. P. S. one down side is that inside the booth there’s no bench/chair where you browse songs on the monitor; which means you’d have to stand when«ordering songs». Not too big of a deal though just saying…

Ichibox is one of the fancier, cleaner, and more well-run karaōke spots in the Lower East Bay, if not the entire Bay Area. You can’t miss the flashing, bright neon lights, as the place looks more like a casino, or something you’d find along the streets of Hong Kong or Taipei instead of at a strip mall in Fremont. I actually pass by all the time, but only recently have I had a chance to go inside, as a friend was hosting a birthday party. I’ll just keep this short with a few bullet points: –They have a bar! Not that I am a drinker, but this is definite a plus for those who are. Most other places either don’t allow drinks at all, or have a boba stand instead(which actually works better for me). To go along with the available alcohol is the hilarious«Do not throw up» warning inside of the rooms. –Great location in this Asian plaza with plenty of dining options, milk tea, desserts, as well as the Century movie theatre, Costco, and chain restaurant offerings across the street. –The building is modern and well maintained, and the closest thing I’ve seen to the karaōke facilities in Japan or HK, but of course, not quite the same. For US standards though, it is far more lavish than we are used to. –Employees are young, reasonably attractive, and attentive. The bartenders are also really cool, and kept hooking up our group with free drinks. Their English is decently proficient, so there is not much of a language barrier. –Since Ichibox is catered mostly to Chinese patrons(both Cantonese and Mandarin), there is a limited selection of English songs, and the entire menu on the touchscreen monitor is in Chinese. It is pretty easy to navigate after a short learning curve though, even if you can’t read a lick of it. –Real music videos with the original vocals! Most other places will play the LaserDisc or Magic Mic versions sold for home usage with generic stock video footage and some random singer doing a cover. Ichibox actually shows the real deal. –Banging sound system! I can’t say I’ve been to many karaōke joints with a horrible sounding audio setup, but most are simply just passable. This one is absolutely slamming! Great treble with tons of low end bass are sure to get everyone up out of their seats. –Patrons are 90% Chinese, with a good mix of Cantonese and Mandarin speakers, and a few American borns sprinkled in. This certainly does not mean that other groups are not welcome, but just keep in mind that the aforementioned song selection may be slightly limited. –More restrooms are needed! Only one for each gender isn’t cutting it for such a large facility, where people are undoubtedly drinking and partying. –The only themed room I’ve seen is the Hello Kitty room(which seems to be the one that garners the most attention), and I believe it is also one of the larger ones. It adds a nice touch, and will definitely bring some people through the door, but the novelty wears off quick, and before long, you will feel like you are in an ordinary karaōke room(albeit with killer lighting and sound system). I’m not sure about the rates for the other rooms, but this one comes out to about $ 100 per hour. In closing, I’ve always found it interesting how in general, American karaōke joints tend to be in a more open space, with the stage basically in front of everyone. I am not sure why the Asian style with separate rooms has not become the norm. It is definitely much more fun for groups and private parties. Until non-Asian businesses decide to copy this business model, anyone looking to sing only English songs in a more intimate setting will still have to visit places like Ichibox, where they are not the target clientele. Limited song selection and non-English menus aside, it most certainly beats getting up on stage in front of a drunken, hostile crowd at a bar.

The owner is so rude!!! I’ve never met anyone talk like this to the customer, such a j**k. I have friends under 18 and he wants to check ID which is fine, I said Sure. And he added, I knew someone in your room is under 18, if I found out that they drink, I will confiscate all your drinks. Well I never said they’re gonna drink, the way he talks is unbelievable. A rude fat owner with glasses go home please. After 15mins, I pour a glass of water to my friends, suddenly a guy just walk in our room, and need to check my friend ID again. I followed him, and I heard he report to his ugly a** boss ‘he’s not 21 yet and he’s drinking water.’ Well, STOPSPYING on your customers when they did nothing wrong. My first time left with no tips, blame your stupid boss, not me. We decided to leave after this happened. I will tell all my friends not coming there and hope they closed soon ;)

This is quite literally the most hostile business I have ever been to. My friends and I came here last night, and had a pretty good time. There weren’t a lot of English language songs, but that’s to be expected. The reason I’m giving such a negative review is that when we left, one of the employees tried to charge us for two hours when we had only been there for one. When we told him the actual time we arrived, he screamed at us for a good five minutes about it, which was very unpleasant. In the end, one of his much more rational coworkers completed the transaction with honest numbers, but the first employee’s insistence that we were trying to cheat them really ruined the experience. I had no idea adults could be so childish, especially towards customers.

High pitch from our room’s speaker is almost unbearable. The mixer does not mix your voice and the track very well. Sometimes it only plays one or the other. So you can hear the flickering. The cashier guy with a hat explicitly reminded my friend, who is new to America(my friend handed him a credit card issued by a Chinese bank), that the price does not include tip. This is of questionable character of him since we didn’t order nothing and we walked to the front desk to get our check. Overall, try music tunnel at San Jose. Or any place in LA.

The venue is new, clean and well decorated. Having alcohol is the biggest advantage. However, the rooms are not as big as we thought it would be and the non-chinese song selection is not as good as some other places, e.g., music tunnel. The price is a bit high in comparison with music tunnel too.

Wow… so to be in the lounge is $ 20/pp minimum. … I just wanted to hang out. I also told the dude that it was my birthday and he didn’t say much, pretty crap considering he could’ve just waived the fees one time. There were 4 people in that lounge… should really consider trying to pull on more people by lowering your ridiculous minimum. Also rolled through the song selections and I couldn’t read anything since they’re all in Chinese. I know this is the Asian part of Fremont, but demographics in this region include a huge range of english speaking people. I was thinking of meeting coworkers there, but I’d be embarassed to bring them in. Filipinos are a huge part of that demographic that enjoy karaōke — and you are surrounded by 2 hospitals in this city. Guess who makes up most of those nurses? Right. Filipinos. What a pity. This would be great if they would just keep it at a 2 drink minimum instead of forcing people to buy $ 20 worth of food and drink in a shared environment. Ps. The best karaōke spots are the ones that allow free or 2 drink minimums and karaōke in the lounge. I also heard from my brother whos been there that your food isn’t very good.

Décor was great, price was extremely reasonable… the major downfall was the horrible lack of song choices and the menu categorizing itself. My friend reserved the giant Hello Kitty room for his birthday during the 50% Off Happy Hour for about 8 people. The room was beyond impressive: clean, HUGE, great sound quality, and most of the songs even had the original music videos! If you enjoy Chinese music, this place is for you. But for people like me who don’t really know much beyond like 3 Rainie Yang songs, it was a major struggle to find anything. The menu is also in Chinese, so make sure you have someone in your party who can read Chinese! The weirdest and most frustrating part of the song selections was how they actually categorize them… for example, I found L’Arc~en~Ciel in the Artists selection, which I was SUPER happy about, until I discovered they only had ONESONG. ONE?! HOW!!! But then after flipping through the Songs selections, I randomly found a couple of their songs that way… what? Why do they have SOME songs listed ONLY under the Artist category, and then some ONLY under Songs? Is this a cheap way to make you waste time looking for songs? I really don’t know, but it was confusing as hell and they really should fix that. The guy who helped us was more quiet than friendly I felt. He wasn’t mean, but not the most warm and welcoming person when we walked in, either. Overall… I’d probably come here again just for the hangout bit if I’m in the area, but overall, nothing will replace my go-to karaōke joints in Santa Clara.

Came here a few weeks ago with a group of colleague. Really nice decoration, much better than music tunnel. The food is also great, I love the snacks, they are perfect for beers and songs. The waiter is ok, we are not really came here for service only, we are here for songs ! Love it, will come back again definitely.

Went to this Karaōke bar with a group of friends a few weeks back. Place is still relatively new, the room decorations are amazing; each with their own theme and design. They also have a common room where it is a lot cheaper and you share the mic with other guests. The Best part is that they give out free snacks in this room which was absolutely delicious! One of the positives about this place is that it can legally sell alcohol! I have been to lots of other different karaōke places and many only served tea. That liquor courage is really helpful when it comes to singing for me haha! As for the music selection, they are more modernized and did not have many selections of the older music; but hey, I guess they are aiming more for the younger crowd. Overall it was a great experience, the music selection is currently only in Chinese. Since this place has only been open for a few month, they are constantly improving like upgrading their software for English as well. Besides that, the employees there are very helpful if you are looking for a certain song that you can’t find. I will definitely come back 10⁄10!

Really Love Love Love this place, especially the two vip rooms, the theme of Hello Kitty and Mermaid, they really made my girlfriends exciting when we were there. The environment is new, clean and comfortable. All the private rooms with big screen TVs, connected to the touch screen computer monitor and high quality speakers. The audio equipment is really good, and the system has a wide variety of songs. One of the server told me that they have 150000 songs in the system, and after I went there couple times, I feel that the system is getting better and better after they upgraded it. Easy to select songs. Servers are super friendly and nice. «Ichi» in Japanese means the best. I think Ichibox is the best choice for party in the city. I highly recommend it! Go sing now!

Beautiful rooms, not so beautiful karaōke system. Only menu language currently offered is simplified Chinese, which can be an issue if you’re with people who can’t read simplified… Or can’t read Chinese in general. Luckily, our group had someone who could guide us through. If not, the staff is more than willing to help. They also told me that the system is currently being updated and should have English soon, hooray! The music selection was a bit lacking, to be honest. There was a HUGE selection of Chinese songs and some older American songs(90’s,) but only a handful of top hits(Taylor Swift and Adele’s selections were pretty plentiful.) The place needs more English songs in its song library to appeal to the masses.(Ex: What karaōke place doesn’t have Don’t Stop Believin’ or Bohemian Rhapsody?) Tldr;; Great service, decent food, ordering alcohol is legal, but the music library is still a work in progress.

First things first, here are the rates(may have changed since I last visited ~first week of June): $ 60/hr for small room; $ 80/hr for med room; $ 100(?)/hr for large room. I’m telling you this now because when five of my other friends and I wanted to go karaoking nearby, we found this place that was new and in a pretty convenient location. Since there were no rates or prices for this place online, my friend and I BOTH called beforehand to ask for rates before booking a room and the dude on the phone both told us that it was $ 16/hr for a small room and $ 18/hr for a medium room. WOW! We couldn’t believe it that we even made the guy clarify if it really was $ 1−6/hr!!! He said yes. So we walk in and began singing and then the lady tells us that it’s $ 60/hr. I was shocked. I mean given that this place is new and don’t have their rates posted online, how else are we supposed to find out the rates than to call them and ask? And so I would believe the worker when he told us that it was $ 16/hr. Well anyways that was pretty disgruntling and disappointing. However, we did conveniently go during happy hour so pricing was 50% off. Still, that didn’t make up for the lack of communication we had before hand. Anyways, two stars because of the trouble that my friends and I had in trying to figure out the pricing and the wrong rates that the guy gave us– I mean, we couldn’t leave since we already started! +1 for interior design and ambience. System was new, rooms were nicely decorated(HOWEVER our mics did break/malfunction TWICE in our only one hour of staying there). +1 Service. Yes, a bit ironic after dealing with the horrible lack of communication the day before, except the workers were nice and one of them did give us an offer of happy hour rates for our entire stay to make up for our troubles However, we only stayed for an hour because the song selection was really limited. There were a lot more asian songs than english songs, so if you’re into asian music, check this place out. There were VERY limited recent hit english songs in their selection, a lot of Lana Del Rey and Beyonce though. Don’t know if I’ll be coming back. Maybe when they add more songs and actually list their rates online so people know how much a room is!

I’m impressed with the set-up at Ichibox. Not impressed with their karaōke. This place has a lot of potential: large, clean rooms. Plush seating. Themes and a KILLER sound system. However, we came for karaōke and they just did not deliver the experience. 1. Song selection: 1 My friends and I have spent up to 5 hours at a karaōke spot, singing our hearts out. We spent 3 hours at Ichibox and really struggled to fill up that time, even by hour 2. No classic 90s boy bands, no classics like Fly Me to the Moon, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Don’t Stop Believing. Even my Chinese singer friends were pressed for songs! Instead we were left with a lengthy selection of Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, and Lady Gaga… fairly recent songs, but not what we wanted. 2. Sound quality: 5 Probably the best acoustics I’ve heard in a karaōke setting. Basically, I sounded GREAT. Better than I should’ve been, I’m sure. ;) 3. Selecting system: 3 Sure, some critics may say this is a matter of preference, but I do like my private karaōke rooms with the book and remote control song selection. When you have so many people in the room, an on-screen song selection means stepping over people to browse the list. Also, the system is in Chinese. You MUST bring someone who can read! 4. Room condition: 5 We got the Hello Kitty room. Pink and well-styled, very clean. No tambourine though? 5. Food and drink: 3 Small Asian bar bites menu and a small selection of sodas. Beers were $ 5 a bottle, $ 65 for a bottle of wine, and $ 195+ for bottle service. 6. Service: 5 Very attentive. One of our friends shattered a beer bottle and a staff member was quick to hand us a broom and help clean. This place is well staffed! 7. Price: 3 I didn’t handle the transaction for my group, but from what I heard, our room was $ 100/hour. If we hit that minimum in bar food and drink orders, that cost is covered. We had 12 people in the room and could’ve fit at least 15. A cost split among a group that size, would be pretty reasonable. Ichibox won’t be my first choice for karaōke until they drastically improve the song selection. It’s not karaōke without good music!
