They are just amazing! We’ve been there several times and the entertainment they provide is top class!

Excellent local entertainment. I have been here twice and would recommend it for an easy night out to catch some laughs.

I was looking for something low key to do with a friend who had just finished finals. I stumble upon Made Up Theater and decided to check it out. Came here for the first time last Friday and was cracking up the entire time! The venue is a bit hidden, but they had signs up which made it a lot easier to find; it’s pretty small inside, but it doesn’t get too crowded and the audience was all amiable. This group was incredibly talented and clever, and they just played off one another so well. The keyboard player was on his game as well! This was such a positive experience and I will definitely be coming back!

Where do I start… The play has a «dream» like feel to it. It’s somewhat logical but also ridiculous at times. It’s really hard to describe this with words… And it’s probably not for everyone. However, I went last Friday and I absolutely loved it. The only thing I wish they could change is the seating… A bit uncomfortable.

Very talented performers exemplifying quick wit, great sense of humor and a passion that is so apparent that it becomes infectious watching their show unfold. This is probably the 6−7th time my wife and I have seen a nights performance and we have always walked away impressed. Highly recommend! You wont regret it! Enjoy!

I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday. We initially weren’t expecting much as it was a small venue and there weren’t a lot of people in the audience. Boy, were we wrong! Both the host and the casts were great! It was very similar to the show, Whose Line Is It Anyways(a show I love, I might add), so there were various skits in which they asked the audience to give suggestions on scenarios, objects, location, etc. We truly enjoyed their performance and were basically laughing the whole time. Highly recommended!

Had a great time at your show last night. It was my wife Julie who made the suggestion for«ISIS, A Love Story». When that was voted in I was really curious how you were going to pull it off. It was fantastic. Thanks again for a great time! By the way we paid the $ 5,for the tickets and it was worth every penny and more. I don’t think you need to make this show free. $ 5 is a steal for this type of entertainment.

Went to a show there on Friday night. The place is back in the back of the office park, but keep going because it is worth it!!! The theater is fantastic. It was packed to the rafters on the night I went and the show was amazing. Non-stop laughs and entertainment. I would definitely go again… and again… and again! These guys are super funny. Catch them before the become famous movie stars.

Wow! These are phenomenally talented performers! We just saw 5-Play perform Friday night at Made Up Theatre and their fully improvised story(made up on the spot from the title given by the audience) was funny, clever, fast-paced, and highly entertaining. These guys are pros! If you love comedy, if you love improv, if you love to be entertained — then take it upon yourself to check out Made Up Theatre. They are some of the best entertainers in the South Bay. Check ‘em out! PS It’s a great date night activity too!

My wife, my friends, and I were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the production! From the talented actors to the keyboardist, to the ladies running concessions, and the lighting & sound control! All quality, well thought out and very organized. Please do yourself a favor and give these guys a shot! I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

This is a great place! Crew is hilarious. They keep it pretty clean and up beat which is fantastic! Love that there is audience participation. We will be back soon. My husband takes their classes and really enjoys the people. His confidence has improved and so has the execution of his jokes. :)

Teen Improv Camp These guys know teens! They taught so much about Improv to the kids in 5 days, plus the kids had a great time. They get the teens to take it seriously, they do lots of fun Improv games and skits, and put on a great show the last day. They know what teens like: video games, sofa, board games, etc. for before/after camp.(They have a ½ hour grace period before and after which is wonderful since it’s hard to estimate transportation time on 880.) They also have a pizza and ice cream lunch with individualized certificates the last day. If your teen is interested in an Improv camp, I would highly recommend it.

I always get a laugh here! It’s a hole in the wall place located in the midst of boring business buildings but it’s definitely a great find. The comedians get really creative during 5-play. It’s really impressive for on the spot creation of a play. But my favorite show has got to be the ones where they take lots of input from the audience — whose line is it anyway style. If ever you’re looking for something cost effective to do on a weekend night, this is one place you won’t regret!

I’m taking the intro level improv class right now and I absolutely love it! The class is taught in a way that makes everyone feel comfortable and encourages each participant to actually participate. The teachers are patient yet challenging. The games are fun and have helped develop my growth as a person and as an improvisationalist. If you’ve been on the fence about signing up for an improv class, just do it. You wot regret it.

Disappointing. Last night, we went to Made Up Theatre. Perhaps my expectations were too high because of all the five-star reviews on Unilocal. First, the warehouse where they perform was cold(warehouses here often have little or no insulation). Very cold. It was pretty obvious that the building had been closed up with no heat for a while. They had the outside door open until the performance started and I thought closing it would help(I thought we’d be able to feel a heater coming on at that point). Wrong. The very first thing the lead guy announced when the show started was that they had two air conditioners but NO heater. That means they know there’s a problem. We’d already brought our coats in from the car and even used an extra coat across our laps but were still cold. Far worse, however, is that they weren’t funny. I wondered if it was just me but then I realized that the applause was thin, very thin. This, after all, was improv and none of them were good at it. Their improvisations were banal, not witty; dull instead of sharp. They just seemed lost, trying but failing. There were even a couple of times when an off-stage cast member threw a line to a hesitating on-stage member but it never seemed to help. It’s no wonder there was so little applause. I even considered that maybe these people were new but that didn’t seem to be the case. The one guy(Bobby?) who was a little older than the rest was smoother and a little more comfortable in his delivery but still not funny. The price is cheap($ 10 plus $ 2 fee) but it wasn’t worth a penny more than that.

Third or fourth time I have been here now and I have to say that I have enjoyed every time. Different nights have different show format and both are great. Every time I have come with different people and they all have fun. I will continue visiting. Keep it up.

An awesome Unilocal discovery! I came across this theater merely by accident when I was browsing through some Unilocal pages and boy am I glad it did! The small and intimate Made up theater is a gem. The show itself was very similar to Whose line(as proclaimed by their website). I went along with a couple of friends and all of us came out in stitches. The 5 performers are not only funny but also very very intelligent and have a sharp wit. Dont be thrown off by the small size of the theater. The small size kind of helps if you want your suggestions to be heard. haha! Also, when you see a dude kissing a dude, thats dedication towards comedy man! Anything for a laugh eh? haha… It would be impossible for me not to go back to this place. At 10 $ a ticket, its a complete steal! Give it a try and you wont regret it!

These guys are awfully funny! Make sure to book your tickets early, the day of should be fine. We got free tickets by signing up for the newsletter however upon receiving the email, we realized the expiration date has passed. We called and inquired on a Saturday afternoon, they were kind enough to put us on the list for that night. Off Osgood, near Automall or Fry’s in Fremont, you would never expect this tiny warehouse located in the middle of a small business area to be an improv theatre. Very hidden, but there were signs showing that this place exists. We entered the small dark warehouse, checked in, saw that they were selling snacks/water for a decent $ 1 to $ 3 price. Sat down and watched a PowerPoint being projected onto the wall. It contained some interesting and funny slides about the place along with some fun facts. The 5play show was very funny, original, and the audience had a great time blurting out random phrases/scenes for the actors to improvise on. They incorporated the audience so well, I believe that’s what made the skits beyond hilarious. We will definitely be back and I will spread this show to all my friends in the area! I’m so shocked yet pleased that these guys were willing to give out free shows for signing up for the newsletter. We bought a Groupon deal which is worth $ 12 for 2 people to attend a show, and I think that for this price, it is well worth it. Please check out their shows! You will NOT regret it.

I definitely recommend buying your tickets online because the theatre is small and only fits about 50 people. The first time I came with my friend we got there 5 minutes before the show started but they didn’t have any room; they said they usually don’t have room and told us to reserve a spot for next week. This is definitely not a «drop-in» kind of show. Best comedy show I’ve ever seen! I went to the Laugh Track show and I loved it because it was like Whose Line is it Anyway, which is one of my favorite shows. They incorporate the audience and make us feel involved by asking volunteers who get to go up on stage. At the end of the show you get to high five each actor while walking out! Haha. The show is throughly entertaining. If you sign up for their email newsletters(don’t worry, they don’t send many emails at all), you get a free ticket! :D Great place to take your date or your friends or your family!

If you’re in Fremont or anywhere nearby this area and looking for a good time filled with laughter, you should definitely check out Made Up Theatre. They have shows every Saturday night, and it’s pretty dang funny! I’ve been to their shows twice, and all times I’ve found myself laughing to nearly tears. Haha… The cast consist of 5 ppl(4 dudes &1 chick) and they’re all pretty hilarious. It is improv comedy and there’s a good bit of audience participation. So sometimes they get people on stage to act out something which is pretty funny to watch. The actual space of the place is very intimate with only about 50seats, I think. So everyone can experience the action very close. Lol. But I did hear they’re going to be expanding the theatre or remodeling it. I think. They’ll be revealing the new theatre space on NYE of this yr. Ticket prices are pretty low cost, and sometimes watch out for the Groupons!
