Today I brought my small day care group to Super Suppers for a field trip. I arranged this about a month ahead of time. I have 7 kids ranging in age from 6 to 11. The owner, Becky, warmly greeted us. The tables were all set for lunch. We were served delicious homemade macaroni and cheese, fresh fruit, and apple juice. The kids loved it and went back for seconds and thirds! The fresh fruit platter was replenished many times. Then the kids washed their hands and were given aprons to wear to begin preparing their casserole. Everything was ready and so organized. The kids made King Ranch Casserole, which involves several steps of mixing ingredients and layering with tortillas. They had so much fun and Becky was wonderful with the kids. She was very sweet and really showed an interest in each and every one. After the casseroles were made, a sticker was applied to the lid with complete cooking instructions. This will be dinner for the family tonight! It looked delicious and I’m anxious to hear how everyone liked it. After the project we were served homemade chocolate chip cookies. They were also delicious. We all had a great time and will definitely be back next summer for another field trip. I would also like to mention that I have purchased«take and bake» meals in the past from here and they are really good. They are very nice to have on hand for company or when you just want a day off from cooking.

The quality of food and service is excellent. my rating is based on this idea of take and bake. the meals are frozen when you get it. most of the meals require it to be thawed before cooking. so you will not be eating that night. cooking is easy but you will still be waiting 20 – 40 minutes. my biggest gripe is the price. it’s $ 18 for a piece of steak that has been marinated. it serves 3 people but that’s because you still need side dishes. which cost $ 9 each. I ended up spending $ 36 for the steak and 2 sides. and an hour cooking and cleaning. this super supper idea does not make financial sence for me. I spent the same amount of money as I would have at a good restaurant.

This is not a restaurant but a place where you can pick up frozen entrees, sides and desserts to use at home when you need them. If you don’t have time to defrost them, there are directions for the extra cooking time needed for a frozen item. When you want an elaborate meal at home with 10% of the work, this is the place to go! If you take the most complicated recipes from your cookbook, those are probably the ones they do. We have had Thanksgiving dinner from Super Suppers one year and from a local health food store another year and the local health food store was pretty basic compared to Super Suppers.

As a working mom, having a couple pre-made Super Suppers in the freezer helps me round out my meal planning for the week. I look for meals that are quick to prepare(under 40 min) and on the lighter side. Super Suppers grab and go freezer usually has at least half a dozen options that meet this criteria. Family favorites are Vegetarian Lasagna and the Feta and Spinach rice side(aka cheesy rice in my family). I have enjoyed all the fish options as well.

SS is quick and simple. I tried it when I had surgery and off my feet for a week in a half. The kids enjoyed the meals and so did my husband.(i do too) But with the VIP membership, this is a great way to have some quick meals on hand ready at any given time. Just defrost and cook. Great concept, glad to see that Super Suppers is still up and running in Fremont. The only one left; I believe. Try it, you will love it. You can also have some of the ingredients not included in your meal prep when you order/choose the meals.

I received credit for pre-made meals from Super Suppers as a perk through work. Their selection and quality was great. There was a small issue with our delivery(a couple of missing items) — the owner was extremely apologetic and took care of the issue quicker than I could have imagined. Simply amazing service.

Lot’s of choices and the menu is always changing. Pick it up, take it home, cook it, and enjoy a great meal. Super friendly staff to help you out.

I started using Super Suppers 4 years ago when I broke my arm and my dear husband thought that take out for 8 weeks would be fine with me. Can you guess who does the cooking in our family? After 1 week, I walked into S.S. to check it out as an alternative. WONDERFUL! The staff is great and I quickly became a V.I.P customer. There are some dishes I choose not to do(I am VERY picky about fish in general, but that is me and not them). Overall we are happy with the dishes and look forward to going into the store to see the staff. Since becoming a VIP I have found using them to be not only a time saver, but also a money and sanity saver. I still love to cook, but sometime after a long day I need a quick meal ready at times so I can play with my kid while the meal cooks. Now my husband is more willing to cook in the Kitchen(as long as it is in a metal pan). I recently moved to San Jose and will be enjoying their delivery service. YEAH!

This place is great and little did I know it’s right in my own backyard. My friend decided to celebrate her birthday with Super Suppers. Our hostess had a wonderful spread of appetizers which were samples of the sides that can be purchased from the grab n’ go fridge. We also were able to enjoy some tasty Sangria as the Super Supper concept was introduced and our preparation tasks were explained. We had a blast and all of us became huge fans of the place. In fact, we ended up purchasing extra meals so others can try at home. It was great. Food is delicious and makes a busy day convenient to get a good cooked meal. Price is reasonable and much more of a savings than eating out. Not to mention you can purchase a few meals at a time and just store in the freezer until you are ready to eat them. I recommend at least trying them out once or make it fun like we did and plan a get together amongst friends.

I decided to check out the Fremont location of Super Suppers. When I get curious about something, I’m not satisfied until I’ve had a chance to check it out for myself. Otherwise, I get obsessive. I called ahead and found out that their location does no minimum walk-ins at any time so I drove over. It’s in about the same location as where I normally do my grocery shopping so there’s no added stress there. I walked in and got greeted by a Nice Lady who walked me through the steps. Basically, there’s a number of stations, each with all the prepared ingredients, instructions and tools you need to assemble your own meals. You walk around and decide how many of each meal you’d like, tell one of the Nice Ladies which meal you want to prepare. They’ll get you the protein that goes with the meal you’re assembling and then you’re on your own to follow the instructions and pack it. If you don’t like prepping/packing your own food, then you can call ahead/place an order online and they’ll do all the packing/prepping for you. You’ll just need to pick it up. I decided to make a batch of salmon cakes. I have to say, it’s a pretty nifty set up that they’ve got. EVERYTHING is provided for you, from the apron to the mixing bowls, utensils and ingredients which are already cut up and prepped how you’ll need them for the dish. The instructions with each dish are pretty dummy proof and each station has a pre-made label that not only tells you what the dish is but how to prepare it from either frozen or thawed state. If there’s an ingredient you don’t like — don’t worry! You don’t have to include it. Each full meal can serve 6 to 8 people but you can package them half meals if you prefer small portion sizes or have a small family. My concern was that I have a small freezer. Too many full sized meal pans definitely wouldn’t fit in my freezer however the half meal pans would fit with no problem. Since six full sized meals can be packaged as 12 half meals, t his wasn’t an issue. I ended up prepping a half meal of salmon cakes. It only took me about 10 minutes or so. And no clean up? BONUS! I also grabbed a half meal of cheddar meatloaf which was their Grab-n-Go special of the week. Grab-n-Go is exactly that — either a full or a half meal that’s already prepared and waiting for you in either the freezer or the refrigerator. All you have to do is cook it. I can definitely see why this concept is so popular. You can get a real, honest to goodness meal for less than you’d pay for takeout but without the prep work or the mess. And the ingredients are still pretty much scratch, it’s just that they’re already prepped for you. Another bonus is that a lot of the dishes can cook in the pans that they are packed in. If you prepare your own meals rather than order ahead for pick up, you will spend some time but for the amount of food you get, you’re easily saving yourself hours of chopping, slicing and cleaning up. For a busy family(or just a lazy one), this seems like a great solution. CAVEATS: Side dishes and desserts are extra. For me, this isn’t a big issue as I just eat most things with rice and a salad anyway but if you’re one of those types that NEEDS to have side dishes then prepare for some extra cost. The good thing is that there are side dishes and desserts to choose from the Grab-N-Go freezers so all is not lost. The menu changes every month and at this location, you’re limited to two full sized meals of any meal per session. Not a problem for me but may be a problem for anyone who likes to horde things. I didn’t see any refrigerator or place to put your food while you’re making it so if you’re in the middle of a huge session, you may be SOL. Mind you, the website does recommend that you bring a cooler or laundry basket to tote your meals so RTFS, folks.

In addition to the glowing reviews this place has already received and rightly deserves, I would suggest having a staff get together here. I did this will fellow teachers from my department and it was well worth it. I found out I couldn’t roll dough worth a damn, but had great fun doing it. They offered excellent(and FREE) appetizers, tea and wine while we waited for the rest of our crew. They were extremely patient with those of us who were woefully lacking in the culinary arts. The food we took home was REALLY good(I recommend the Braided Bread dish) and I was back in this spot within 3 days to pick up more meals. If you have even less time than it takes to do it yourself, the freezers are quite full of grab-and-go goodness.

I had driven by this place a few times and wondered what this place was, I figured it was just a run of the mill place that cooked the food slapped it in a tin container for you, overcharged you and sent you on your way. BOYWAS I WRONG… My friend and neighbor Jon Dean took me there a night last week for a menu and wine tasting evening. He was generous to split his meals with me so I made 3 and so did he. I don’t even know where to begin. 1. The staff… Colene, Becky, Terry and the other ladies were so knowledgeable, very professional, but most of all made me feel very welcome and very comfortable. They treated my friend like family, like they have known him for years. 2. The food products are fresh and NOT already cooked, and you put it together yourself which I got a big kick out of(and yes they can put it together for you too if you’re short on time or you wanna grab from their freezer). Point being here, if there is an ingredient you don’t like(ginger curry etc) that the recipe calls for, no prob, you leave it out or put it on the side. 3. The menu items change monthly, and I think there are about 10 – 12 monthly to choose from, and man this is the best tasting food. Creative menu ideas, great for people like me who are pretty boring when it comes to cooking and end up cooking the same thing over and over. 4. surprisingly the prices are very reasonable! For the portions they give you and the amount of food, my household of 2 ½ will get 3 meals out of each dinner! I can not wait to go back over and prepare some more meals. The only downfall I can see is really getting hooked on a particular meal and then when the months menu changes and having to wait for it to come around again.
