This is the Worst place for a vegetarian to eat. The quality wasn’t good and the service is too slow

Made us wait 1 hour for food, food quality was so bad. They didn’t even deliver 2 naans we ordered. They only gave us 1 naan instead of 2. Do not go. No good food, plus bad customer service.

Went there this Saturday and the experience was worse than horrible. I heard a lot about this place for its taste and service but regretfully both have gone down terribly. Ordered Aloo Parantha and its half-baked, stale and hard. Then we ordered Paneer Makhani which is even worst. Overall pathetic food and horrible service. Regret dining there !!

Their Unilocal listing does not state that they only serve halal meat. I ordered on the phone only to be disappointed once reaching the store. There they have a small note by the counter. Not all your customers are ok eating ritually slaughtered meat as a religious offering. You should clearly state that you support only one kind if religious and sacrificial food. So people can make informed choices and avoid your shop for others that support all kinds of customers.

We are a group of 5 that have had a love hate relationship with this place. We used to come a lot to this place last year, when a friend of ours used to stay in an apartment nearby. Generally I always opt for the veggie plate while my group tries out curries and other options like lamb wrap and tandoori chicken. We used to like the mango lassi too. Somewhere in the second half of last year the quality of the food started decreasing at an accelerated pace. The seasoning started becoming bland, he lassi had too much of water and the meat started tasting old. We stopped going to the place for more that 6 months. Last weekend we were in the vicinity and decided to see if things were still bad. Lucky for us, the quality had improved. In the veggie plate, the naan was soft and warm. The daal had good seasoning. The tandoori chicken plate was plentiful and the lamb wrap was tasty. The lassi is still too watery and tastes very synthetic though. You could give it a try. It might surprise with a good experience.

Where to begin… if I could give 0 stars I would! Horrendously slow service, mediocre food and a total disaster is the best description of my meal there. Went there excited to try some Chaats which you would think they would do well given its in their name but no. After almost 40 minutes of waiting for the papdi chaat and samosa chaats, both items that i would expect are easy and quick to put together, the papdi chaat was too sweet and the samosa chaat was too spicy. We also got the aloo paratha and a mango lassi and had to take the paratha to go as it took just too long. Yes, even the mango lassi came out after 50 mins. It should be added that this wasn’t just our experience, there were several other patrons who were waiting for their food for longer than us.

1. Timing: I had 2 chat order which took around 30 – 35 min to get ready. There were only 1 customer other than us. 2. Taste: I had much better experience in other Indian restaurant.

Food is generally fine. But they serve the most horrendous tea charges at 1.25. Other places serve tea complimentary that is a 100 times better. When I told the guy at the counter that it’s the worst tea ever — he actually said that other people live by it. As if am lying… Never having tea here. Am sure recycled water used to water plants tastes better!

Decent place with great food! We ordered the veggie lunch plate which included naan, rice, raita, dal makhni and okra sabji, the lunch($ 8)was totally worth the money spent, also ordered sheekh kebab(goat meat), very delicious and served hot.

Amazing food and very modesty priced! I absolutely loved this place, their staff is very patient and friendly, their food is delicious. Especially their Chicken and Fish Pakora. I also happen to eat their lamb boti kabab wrap, which is very good and also their daily special. The best thing is their biryani, which is plentifull. Would definetly recommend them for their great food and their staff. Especially Kinni, she is very sweet and friendly, as soon as you enter she greets with a huge smile and makes you feel very welcome. Good food + Good Service + Friendly staff is an amazing combination which very few restaurants in Bayarea possess and this one is definitely one of them.

Tried chilli panner and papdi chat. Both were good and tasty. The normal Indian spice and taste. The wait was too long as there were many togo orders in the queue. Would try again if I am in the area. Place is a bit small and if 4 – 5 groups are present there wouldnt be much space left.

Had the Chicken Tikka Plate, it came with Rice, Cucumber Salad, Side of Curry and Garlic Naan. For $ 8 or so, it was pretty good. I washed this down with a small Chai Tea that was $ 1.25 and a Mango Lassi. The Mango Lassi was on the house cause we only ordered one but they brought 2 and just let us have it, that was very nice of them. It was a great value for what we got. Service was decent, the young girl at the counter that took our order wasn’t very«friendly» but the one that brought our food was very cheerful. This is a divey spot and I have to say, it was a little weird to see a video rental/sale section in the back… lol

We walked in here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were having a busy day and we weren’t looking for a fancy restaurant. We were just looking for a hearty meal and that’s exactly what this place offered us. One has to order at the counter and pay for the order after which the food will be served at the table. There are hardly three to four tables here. It’s a rather small place, very apt for quick meals or takeout food. This place is clearly not intended for those looking for a fancy Indian restaurant. We ordered the Veggie plate and Vegetable Biryani. The Veggie plate came with fried rice, aloo peas masala, naan and dal makhani on the side. The portion size here is large, a little more than what a single person can eat. The food quality was really high and all the items tasted excellent. The biryani came with raitha on the side. Service was prompt. It’s almost an open kitchen here in the sense that it is not completely closed. There is also a small library in one corner of this restaurant. I re-iterate, this is not an upscale or fancy place. This is a place where you can get a very fulfilling, high quality Indian meal.

Came here to pick up some dinner after the lame stomach bug plagued my SO and we had to cancel our special dinner plans. Was really glad to have stopped by Taj-e Chaat for my meal! On the outskirts of a strip plaza, Taj-e Chaat stands out with bright lights and Indian music blasting out the speakers. The SO and I walked in and the DVD corner immediately caught our eyes. They sell DVDs!(Most likely non-English tho…) Anyway, it was a Thursday night and the place was busy! The kitchen was visible from where we stood and it looked like they were on full-speed! I ordered: Butter chicken Spicy chicken wings Butter naan Soft roti Mango lassi We waited probably 15 – 20 minutes for my food, which meant they cooked my food to order. Once I got my food, I could feel the heat emanating through the plastic bag. I was so excited to eat! The cashier was super cute and nice also! She made sure I wasn’t panicking because I didn’t get my food in under 5 minutes. I definitely was not panicking, but I really appreciated the fact that she would provide follow-up. «You smart. You loyal. I appreciate that,» as DJ Khaled would say. Once home, I immediately dug open my bag to pull out all my food treasures… butter chicken had a kick to it along with plenty of large still-juicy chicken pieces, chicken wings were tandoori-style and came with a green mint sauce, naan was soft and fluffy, roti was soft and chewy, and the mango lassi really should have been bigger for the price — it was so delicious though! In the end, I didn’t even finish everything and still had enough for lunch the next day. Would definitely come back here whenever I’m in the Fremont area and looking for something other than Chinese or sammiches. Next time, I’m definitely trying their boti lamb wrap!

I know it’s called«chaat» and you would want to come here for that, but that was my least favorite item. I would get: –Anything with paneer because it tastes so fresh here! Usually paneer resembles firm tofu but this one was fluffy like fresh mozzarella. –Lamb Boti Wrap: Holy moly there was almost to much meat in this and for only $ 7.50 too. It was really tasty… like they took a lamb curry and just put it in some naan with a side of cucumbers and cilantro sauce. To me, I liked the chaat at Chatpatta Corner in the Ardenwood area more. I also wasn’t a fan of the Aloo Paratha because it was rather bland and kept falling apart. The fellas here are very friendly and even though you order/pay at the counter then sit, they do serve you as well. It’s not a fancy place by any means but you can get pretty full for less than $ 10. Plus if you can rent Indian movies from the back of the restaurant like in the ‘90s.

Tried the chaat here. Just ordinary. The only plus is that it stays open a little longer and is at an easy location to grab a quick bite. But with so many options available in that area, I won’t pick this over the other restaurants
