Based on some things I heard I gave it another try. I’m really having a hard time finding a cool yarn shop in Fresno. It’s okay, small, but friendly. Yarn is not to my taste. I like the cool hand-dyes, and this is mostly mass-market stuff. It’s an upgrade since my last visit — now there’s Noro and Malabrigo, but still not the smaller artisan yarn. Doesn’t even sell Anzula and I think they make it in Fresno. Better than Michael’s or Joanne’s but still not my kind of place. They have nice needles.

Craftopia is a very hip and fun etsy style craft shop in N.W. Fresno. I would recommend it to anyone interested in art, sewing, jewelry etc. They have something for everyone and tons of classes. I just learned to sew there and have been back several times since. Great for beginners and crafters of all ages.

I love this place, stopped in on our road trip up north and I just wanted to be in a place that would inspire me and this place did just that! It was clean, friendly and fun. And I bought some vintagy looking fabric to take back home that I could not find anywhere else

I love Craftopia. I have been there for Clay Lessons. Kristen, the owner, lets you go at your pace and is very patient. I was there with three of my friends and we all had a great time. I have also been there for charity events, from making items for helping shelter animals to making decorations for a fundraising dinner. I love the selection that Craftopia carries, because it has a little bit of everything for everyone.

I need Craftopia in my life! I’d neglected my creative side for years dealing with life and family and was missing some balance. I’m not really a natural nor will I just do projects on my own at home. Enter Craftopia for craft therapy! Kirsten, the owner, has offered a variety of classes to appeal to everyone. I’ve taken a few sewing classes and wonderful paper(cards, banners, small items) classes. I’ve made beautiful beaded earrings. My preschooler has also done several kids’ crafts. There are other offerings I’ve not even tried yet — knitting, crocheting, clay crafting, embroidery, and other projects. Kirsten is an amazing talent. She can create just about anything, and I really love when this translates to a class that I can actually do! She is pleasant, gives tons of direct instruction and is always patient while I complete the project. The store is super fun and funky, filled with creative displays and lots of hand-crafted items. There is a great selection of craft supplies also sharing the space. This is not your big box store. You are really missing out if you haven’t checked it out and taken a class!
