Goldsteins has quickly become honestly one of my favorite bars/places to hang out in Fresno. The vibe is great, the people are super nice, and there’s always so many awesome craft beers on tap that you’d never find anywhere else. They have around 40 beers on tap, and at any given time I may have had/heard of 3 – 4 of them ever before. There’s frequently really good live music, and the place is really nice inside. It isn’t uncommon to find both of the owners/business partners just hanging out at the bar having normal conversations with their customers. I do wish it was open past midnight, but I can also understand their reasoning. Goldsteins is definitely one of the best places to get a beer in Fresno!

Very cool tap room in Tower District! I love seeing more places like this pop up in Fresno and hope they keep coming! I’m not sure why Goldstein’s is categorized as a dive bar — I didn’t see anything too«divey» about it. The atmosphere had a rustic and artsy vibe. The most beautiful chalk mural of an octopus and a woman’s face was on the wall. Just a very cool setting overall for hanging out and having a drink with friends. They have 45 handles, so if you’re a beer fan it’s impossible to not find tons of options you love. I tried a coconut lime blonde and sour blueberry beer. All great! They also have ciders and a ginger mead, which was unlike anything I tried before. Our bartender was really nice and open to letting us taste whatever we were interested in. We even played Cards Against Humanity for awhile at the bar. I hope to be back soon!

Pretty cool tap room hidden with no sign in Clovis. Probably 25 or 30 beers on tap. I would give it a 4 if anybtype of food would have been possible without leaving. Maybe we got them on a day without a food truck possibly? We will go back and update review soon. They did say we could bring in any food we want. The word«Deli» in the name is a local joke I guess. Plenty of room for a large group and fun decorations.

This place is categorized as a, «dive bar». Really?! Hmmm… I’m going with no. Dive Bars don’t have nice bathrooms like Goldstein’s. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE me some dive bars, but Goldstein’s you’re a just a bar. A pretty awesome bar at that. Again, what do I look for when I have a drink??? Do I have to get dressed up? Are you overpriced? Is the crowd douchy? If you can answer NO to all of these questions, then you WIN!!! A lot of craft beers(try the peanut butter one), a mixed crowd and they have a food truck on the patio. And I also appreciate that it is very well lit in this bar. You’ll actually see people’s faces, so if you rely on dim«dive bar» lighting, you’ll have to look elsewhere.

Came in for the first time last week on a Friday night. Loved the beer selection! Close to 40 craft beers on tap so you can’t go wrong. You can sample a couple before deciding on which pint to get. Most are 6 – 8 bucks. The beer temperature was perfect(unlike some of the other comments on here… maybe they came during the summer?) The bartender was sweet. Don’t remember her name but she had an accent and was very approachable and helpful. There was a decent crowd. All the bar seats were full but there were several tables behind the bar that were still open. The inside was spacious, and there even appeared to be some bike parking in the rear corner? Location is great. In the heart of Tower, makes it perfect walking distance if you want to bar hop or grab a beer before an event. Props to this place! 5 stars. It is worth checking out.

Finally ducked into this place the other night. Very cool vibe in here. Love the steam punk bar and the art. But I especially love the variety of beers! This place rocks and is definitely going to become a regular stop.

Good place to grab a beer. Some of the beers are a little over priced, but that’s a bar for you. Good selection as well.

11÷7÷15: Was just visiting a friend in Fresno, and thus I dunno this hood all that well, but this place is definitely has its very unique charm. I don’t see much of a likeness to a «mortuary» or «delicatessen», so I guess the name of this place is just as out of whack as everything else here. Lots of cool but strange art places here and there or hanging on walls, or even the ceiling. A bigass boat in the front too separating the stage from the other side of the place When we can there was a band playing… I would say kinda bluegrass?, but not really. Too slow and not much of a beat for that. So, not entirely sure of the classification. But I would say everyone out of the 5 – 7 piece band was 50+ years old. Yeah. Most of the people there I would say are 30 to mid 40’s, but the hipper end of that crowd. Some late 20’s too. Very interesting mix. Pretty nice beer list too. No budweiser or corona urine here. I see some Old Rasputin Nitro-infused, among a list of other more esoteric selections. Very nice. 1. Riley’s Hard Rootbeer 16oz $ 7: So it tastes exactly as you would expect. Rich root beer with a brew taste. My friends said it was«too sweet», but I dunno what you expect – it’s root beer after all. Anyway, I liked it. It’s different anyway. 8⁄10. 2.? unknown pumpkin /pepper beer: I took this over for a friend that’s not really a beer enthusiast – traded him my hard rootbeer for this. Was quite flavorful with pumpkin, green pepper, and a slight acidity. Not sure what it was called – too bad cause I liked it quite a bit. 9⁄10. So, the vibe is definitely more«mature»… both in good and bad ways. More quiet, more polite. I think maybe a little too toned-down for me. I guess you can see this as a chill place to hang out. Not really a place to party. But good place to have a drink, get buzzed, and not get hassled. I wouldn’t mind coming back if I’m ever back in town. Oh, and the bartenders are really nice and the prices are great too! 5⁄5 #beer #bar

This place, wow. It is the new up and coming place. Their beer selection is off the hook, there are a million choices on tap and I love the people/environment. I need to go more often to see bands and what not. The location is also perfect, right down the street from venis, stones, and sequoia? Perfect.

Went to this place for the first time this weekend. I brought with me some guests from out of town. My guests loved this placed and commented that the place had a Portland pub feel which I believe to be a complement. We had a nice brew with awesome ambiance and great art. The art made enhanced our experience. This will be my new hang out spot. Nice pub feel, not a wild loud place.

Amazing place. Only craft beers so no drink specials, which means no cheap people. Very wide selection,& knowledgeable staff. The atmosphere thrives with great conversation, when live music isn’t playing. And everyone will be amazed with the art,& structural creativity that you don’t expect from the street view. Come be amazed,&enjoy a relaxing time at Goldstein’s you can’t go wrong. Thank you Mr. Bosse,& Mr. Johnson for bringing change to Fresno

Cool place… But!!! Need more seats, colder beers and get rid of the awful public bathroom smell please. The first thing we noticed right when we walked in here was the smell of urine.

A welcomed addition to the Tower District. Pretty hipster, and has a ton of great brews to try. The interior design is impressive with a lot of local artists and off-kilter designs. It’s super packed on weekends, and maybe one day they will specialize in cocktails as well. Give it a swig sometime.

This seems like a place that should be good, but ultimately falls short for me. Lets get the good things out of the way first. They have a good beer selection, there were definitely some interesting things on tap. All the bartenders that we encountered were extremely friendly, it seems like we had a nice conversation with all of the girls that served us drinks. However there were some bad things that need to be addressed as well. First of all this place is too goddamn hot, the place wasn’t even all that crowded and myself and everyone in my party was sweating profusely. They have this cool dragon head sculpted as the end of one of their air conditioning ducts, so turn on the damn air and utilize the thing. The beer is too warm. Its not hot, but its definitely not cold, I would say its more cool. The last thing I want to happen when I get an IPA is take a sip to find its only mildly cool, I want my beer served at the proper temperature. I don’t know if they are running it warmer to save money or they just don’t have the correct setup in their cooler, but they need to address it ASAP. They need more seating. Aside from a few chairs along the wall behind the door and a long bench when you first walk in, there isn’t much in the way of seating here. I find it absurd that they have a large spot in the back of the bar for a bike rack but no seating. Put the bike rack outside like normal people and put some tables inside where it used to be, I mean I know some of the Tower clientele want to ride their fixie down to the bar, but the rest of us would like to have a seat if possible. The biggest issue is the temperature of the beer, I would understand if one beer was a little warm, but literally every beer in our group, about 10 when we were all said and done for the evening, was too warm. Until I hear that this has been remedied I will not be going back, I don’t mind paying $ 8 for a beer, but I expect it to be served at the proper temperature.

Very cool spot! Nice atmosphere but the A/C in the place needs to be pumped up! All those hot bodies drinking craft beer make it kinda hot and musty inside… it’s an old building maybe that’s why. Also… we’re not in Europe shouldn’t the beer be served cold. Doesn’t fit the dive bar description… maybe more of a specialty bar… could use more seating and tables and lower lighting… but overall nice hipster place.

Visited here twice within one week. First visit was on a Thursday night. It was super busy, but was able to get a beer fairly quickly. I ordered Kaweah’s Chocolate Milk Stout. The bartended poured about ¾ of a glass when the tap ran out. Because she wasn’t able to pour the full glass, it was on the house. A live band was playing so it was slightly difficult to carry a conversation with my friends and we were standing in the back by the bike rack. Second visit was on a Saturday night and there were a lot less people. No live band so it was easy for communication. Tried the Hazelnut chocolate which was pretty tasty. Nice place to hang out and get a beer in the tower.

I was there for the first time last night and I have to say it was pretty swell. It is in a fairly large building with a lot of open space for socializing and what not when it eventually gets crowded. They have live music on some nights, I guess, which is definitely a plus. Last night it was this Rockabilly group who were pretty great. The service is very friendly at the bar and the beer selection was varied. They have stuff for beer novices, stuff for beer hipsters, and some stuff for beer nerds. I do have a few small bits of constructive criticism that I’m sure they will rectify in short order. Every beer our party ordered was cool at best, not cold. Now, I know some stouts, porters and sours taste better as they warm up, but IPAs, Pale Ales, Pilsners, Weissbeers, and pretty much all beer yellow to brown tastes best when it is served cold. It took away from a lot of the flavor I know a lot of those beers have. Secondly, when we got there the place was fairly empty with just a full bar yet it was really hot inside and didn’t feel like they had the AC on at all. It kept getting hotter as the night wore on and more people packed in. It looked like they have AC ducts, maybe crank the AC down a bit more? Finally, I think they could add a few more tables at least in the back near the bike racks. The set up of the mini-table along the wall for standing room is nice, especially in small bars that are popular. Now this place did fill up on a Friday night, unfortunately it is not always Friday night and it would be nice to have some more tables where small groups could sit and socialize. They can always remove the tables quickly if they are hitting capacity. Otherwise great job Goldsteins, I will make it back next time im in Tower.
