It’s the quintessential dive bar, the décor is pretty much sports memorabilia thrown all over the walls, the drinks are overpoured and overpriced neither of which is a good thing since it shows a lack of skill in pouring and customer service. This bar has had a bad history with it being notoriously known as a bulldog hangout, you know it’s bad when Fresno PD has to establish a dress code for the venue and like clockwork, Fresno PD is there every weekend. It could be a good neighborhood bar if actually improved it’s customer service and attempted to improve it’s image. Honestly there’s not much reason to go, into Nicks when it’s cheaper buy liquor/beer at the liquor store next door.

Came in for my pool league. The drink I ordered is not the drink I got, however the drink isn’t horrible. The drink was reasonably priced. The bartender was paying more attention to the other people at the bar. Then another customer told her I was waiting. Décor isn’t great… not a place I would willing come to. Also, a man at the bar pulled out a bag of marijuana… not cool. This is probably part of the problem they have with cops coming out often(which I had heard about before coming here).

I have never had a problem at Nick’s. The manager, Emilio, is always attentive and heart-warming. He always welcomes everyone with open arms and doesn’t judge you. The drinks are also very strong for a very inexpensive price which is very rare! The place gets very packed on the weekends but it is in a good way since it never gets boring. Karaōke nights are the best! I sometimes participate in them and sometimes you’ll see the manager join in the fun and if you want to play pool, it’s for free. Overall, my experience there has only been good, I always invite my girlfriends down there :)

When this bar had just recently opened under new management I thought I’d check it out. Begged an apprehensive friend to go with me because I remembered it used to be a nice little bar to play pool back in the day and heard about a really cool bartender named Janell who worked there, so I wanted to check it out.(Unfortunately she wasn’t working the day I came in otherwise I know I would of had a better experience, I’m sure)! Well, all I can say is this place has changed for the worse! We walked in and I made a b-line for the rest room while my friend bellied up to the bar and ordered her usual, cranberry & vodka(nothing special). Well when I got out of the restroom my friend said«I’m not happy». I asked«Why, what happened?» she said«well I put $ 20 bill down, ordered a cranberry/vodka and she took my $ 20 brought back change and gave me this blue drink, I don’t know what it is.» So I asked the bartender what did my friend order? she replied, «Cranberry & Vodka.» I asked well what is that Blue drink you just charged her for? She said it’s called a «Crack Pipe. I think it was someone elses drink she’d goofed up on. It was obvious the bartender seemed to be a bit intoxicated or brainless or both… I said but she paid for a cranberry and vodka. Needless to say, my friend didn’t even take a sip of the blue thing and just wanted her $ back. The bartender said you’ll have to talk to the owner. So he came up and said«I’m sorry but I can not give you your money back, I can only give you a credit», which was a bar chip I believe. I said she was charged for a drink she never got nor drank, and we don’t want to come back here. Although he didn’t want to give her money back he finally did ONLY after I said I was going to Unilocal my review. Also the décor in there is really awful! It was a strange experience to say the least.
