I HATE this popeyes!!! They never have stuff, or claim they don’t. I went in on a Friday around 8pm, waited approximately 15 minutes to order, and then was told there was a 30 minute wait for the chicken to finish frying. I asked about the 4 big trays of chicken that was sitting in plain view, and was given some mumbly, Bullshit answer. I feel sorry for the 15 or so fools who decided to wait. ZERO stars! F*ck you popeyes, you need to get your shit together!

We had a coupon and I was craving fried chicken and a darn commercial for Popeye’s came on the tv, so off we went. I hadn’t been to this location in a while, so I was pleasantly surprised to see they had remodeled and cleaned the place up. Nice improvement on that end. Even with the coupon the chicken here is still a tad expensive. We got a 10 piece mixed, 2 sides 5 biscuits and 2 cherry pies for $ 24. The food was all really good. Chicken was perfect and fresh. I gave them another chance on the mac & cheese, I probably wouldn’t order it again. It never seems fresh, always has a rubbery blandness to it. They need to fix their recipe. The sweet surprise of the meal was the cherry n cream cheese pie. I had no idea that had those delightful deep fried pies. You know the ones that Mcd’s had back in the good old days. Those yummy, burn the hell out of your mouth pies. Hell I’ll go back here just for the damn pies when I’m craving my youth.

Popeyes is so great! Spicy chicken, shrimp, biscuit and the sausage gravy on the potatoes is delicious. The prices are more that KFC but I don’t mind because I don’t like to eat beaten and abused chicken. Service is great and I don’t understand why people be hating on my spot.

Been coming here for years. For a while I was a regular. This place needs improvements. I usually only come on Tuesdays and they’re usually pretty busy too. They have a 2 piece chicken special for $ 1.99 or their regular Tuesday Special with 2 pieces, biscuit and a side for $ 3.99. The place definitely needs better cleaning maintenance. When you come in you’ll often find dirty tables, trash on the ground and the trash cans full and in need of changing. It’s gross and unsightly. I also feel like their food quality has declined as well. I do like that they have spicy chicken whereas their main competitor, KFC doesn’t. For a while I preferred Popeyes over KFC, but I feel like KFC is more consistent with their food and offer more choices and things that I can eat. Like for example, the gravy on the mashed potatoes here is cooked with beef and pork and has tiny bits of pork in it and that’s not something that’s advertised. Tonight’s dinner visit was kind of disappointing. I’ll always prefer boneless chicken to chicken on a bone. I saw a new item on the menu, Pepper Barrel Tenders. They had a combo with a biscuit, a side and a drink for $ 5.99. The food took a while to get, but I overlooked it. Then they made it to go when it to eat there. Opened the box immediately and my chicken tenders were not only pretty small, but they were already a little soggy and not crispy. The sauce that came with it, Smok’n Pepper RanCh was pretty tasty though and complimented the chicken. I honestly don’t know why the chicken is named Pepper Barrel nor do I remember any distinguishing taste that would lead me to an answer. I know it was seasoned. Perhaps the most disappointing was the coleslaw. Usually I worry about coleslaw being too liquidy, but this time it was for lack of better words, thick, and had a yellow tinge to it. I immediately smelled it and didn’t detect anything out of the ordinary, but when I tasted it, it tasted off to me so I didn’t eat it. And while I’m at it, another thing that’s bothered me is their biscuits. They’re good, but the top and bottom of them are salty. If I eat one and my tongue touches the top of bottom, it’s just like making direct contact with salt and it’s off putting.

yes i will admit this i used to work at this exact location years ago and let me tell you if the previous owners still owned this place they would be so disappointed it has really gone down in quality 1. the chicken was not cooked fresh at all i know how it should look and taste and it was very obvious they re fried the chicken for a few seconds to make it hot and put it back up there. the other time i went the chicken was sitting way to long under the heat lamps, the oil had made the skin around the chicken soft and slimy. This chicken skin should always be crunchy 2. This place was a mess! i had to sit in the lobby for 30 minutes(and mind you they were not that busy at all) the tables were messy and there was crumbs, food and trash on the floors. 3. When you go up to the counter to order when you look on your left there is a TON of containers everywhere! i understand people get lazy and they don’t want to have to walk to the back(which isn’t that far) to grab more when needed but is it really necessary to have all of the containers all over the left side of the counter its a lot to look at 4. No one greats you how they should. when i worked here people smiled and said welcome to popeyes. dont expect that here 5. this is my main complaint, while i was waiting in line to order some woman in the back(i do not know her) looked at me and walked over to a man working with her and pointed right at me and said some stuff about me and started laughing and pointed again. there was no one behind me and i really doubt she was making fun of the older gentleman in front of me. it is never ok to point at a costumer and make them feel uncomfortable like they do not belong there. you as a worker should do your job and work it isn’t high school there’s no reason to make people in line feel uncomfortable or angry

Everyone had great customer service except the cashier. She was very rude, impatient and had a nasty attitude.

I didn’t expect much from fast food chicken I was really disappointed portions were small over priced chicken was dry returned my side green bean dish had a funky smell. I have had popeyes before at a different location years ago and was pleased KFC is better in my opinion as a fast food alternative

I love eating here… BUT… god isn’t there always a BUT. These women came in during their lunch break(now mind you this was around 8:00pm, I think it was a nearby call center or something) so never mind there were about ten of us in line, they jumped the line, all orders from those of us waiting, and they ordered. Shame on that manager!

Sooooooo slow. Not friendly at all. The three girls working at paces comprable to snails despite a line of about 10 people at the register. I waited half an hour for food that was served to me cold. They didnt give me my sauces and when my boyfriend went to ask for them he was met with an eye roll and sigh. Ummm… If you dont want to serve customers in a customer service industry maybe you should not be working here. Who ever is in charge of this franchise needs a reality check. Ive been to tons of Popeyes and never once had a bad experiance until now. Will not be back.

This Popeyes is not that great. They are slow as hell, are always out of sauces and Cajun sparkle, and their portions are never consistent. I haven’t had their chicken yet but I have had the popcorn shrimp. It’s decent. On top of everything, Popeyes is way overpriced for what you get. If you get the daily special of popcorn shrimp, they give you half of what they’d give you if you order it any other day. Really the best things there are the biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy, and Strawberry soda.

I was not sure about trying this place due to the bad reviews. I am glad I did. everyone was friendly and helpfull. our food came out quickly. I gave four stars because two of the ten chicken strips were old and I had to ask for the frys I had ordered but were missed. it was very busy, very clean, and very quick.

The lady working the front counter(Cynthia C) was Absolutely Rude, pushy, Aggresive, loud, controling and down right NOT P.R. Friendly. Why would you put her in the front? Gosh I hope she’s not the mgr. She even snapped at the other employees. It ruined my dining experience. Food wasn’t great but a friendly face, smile and good greeting-personality would’ve kept me returning. I do not wish for this person to lose her job but maybe go through a public image, customer satisfaction and service program or something. Any body but this lady would be a better hostess/greeter.

Is this the one in front of campus? If so, damn. They made a lot of money off me. This place is great. Food is always hot and tasty when they call me up. Only thing that prevented this from getting a fifth star was the cleanliness. Uh, c’mon guys. A little better with the tables and bathroom!

Well I must be alone in my love for Popeyes, because I actually rather enjoy eating here. Sure it’s not as good as home cooked fried chicken, but then again not many places could make that claim to begin with. In the realm of fast food, this is better than KFC in my opinion.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. This popeyes gave me a bad impression of the chain. It was horrible here! I then tried the one near Fresno state. WOW delicious. I decided to give this one another try. WOW still bad!!! I hated it. But the chain is over all DELICIOUS. I guess it does depend on the people preparing it…

This Popeye’s is shit. Excuse my language, but it is what it is. One friend hated his jumbalaya bowl or whatever it was. I got some chicken strip combo that wasn’t very good, didn’t come with much chicken, and was grossly over-priced. Even the friend that wanted his damn fried chicken fix was embarassed for taking us here, claiming Popeye’s is much better where he’s from. I nearly backhanded him with the serving tray from across the table. With all of the food on it. Haaa, just kidding Ray. I don’t really review fast food chains, since for the most part you can expect what you’re getting. But really now, there’s NO reason for you to come to this Popeye’s, when you have Wendy’s right next door with 99 cent chicken nuggets if you really, really need your damn chicken. EDIT: My bad, this review was intended for the Popeye’s on Cedar and Shaw.
