It must sound weird to rate a grocery store. After all, it’s a grocery store. It’s not like a restaurant where you go there occasionally. If you live in the neighborhood, chances are that if it’s good or bad, you’ll end up here eventually and on a frequent basis. Save Mart is truly the store you want in your neighborhood. The people who work here are what makes this place what it is. I’ve known some of them since I was just a little kid and my mom would take me here a few times a week to get a sandwich at the deli counter(BESTSANDWICHESEVER). I particularly want to point out Sheila, who is such a sweetheart and the hardest working person in the store. These are people who care about their work and do a phenomenal job at it. I don’t come here because it’s convenient. I come here because it’s enjoyable. Every store, from a single operation to a national chain, should come here and take notes. This is how you run a local business.

The staff is very friendly. I needed quite a bit of sliced baguettes. All they asked is if I could come back in an hour and they would bake and slice them for me at no extra charge. The staff also always manages to smile and say ‘hello’ when you go through the isles.

The people that work here are so freaking nice! They’re always polite, helpful, and just all around in a good mood, which is a difficult task when you’re working with the public. Another thing that I like is there always seems to be a proper amount of lines open, no matter the time, so there’s never much of a wait. I hate it when a grocery store has only one check out open and there’s a line of 50 million people(sorry, I like to speak in hyperbole). Good on this Save Mart for making sure that isn’t a problem. Other than that, this store is just like any other run of the mill grocery store. It’s clean and is adequately stocked. They don’t carry much in terms of speciality items or groceries so you might have to run to Whole Foods or TJ’s for that but that’s to be understood.

Patty, Bakery Manager, was so helpful and had many great suggestions during my visit to her department. I purchased all of her recommendations for my picnic and they were ALL just delicious! The items were: deviled egg potato salad; spicy bowtie pasta salad; spinach dip; fresh baked baguette(sliced while I waited); and potato wedges. Karen in the checkout section was efficient, friendly and funny as well. I’m glad to have such great service in my neighborhood!

This is by far the closest grocery store to my house, but that is not why I continue to shop here. Every time I enter I am greeted with a smile and asked if I need any help. There is very little turnover with the staff so don’t be surprised if you get into conversations regularly with the cashiers. This also helps when you need to find something quickly. The staff is very knowledgeable of their prices and where items are located. Earlier this morning I had to make multiple trips to the store and I felt just as welcomed each time I entered.

Perhaps the closest grocery store to the family’s house when Im in town visiting. The strip mall has opened and closed many a retail location but SM seems to anchor the area. As Nichole M states they’re pretty up on the customer service aspect and it’s generally weird that anyone wants to help you when it comes to groceries. large, clean, and friendly with a large selection of your daily needs. If only most retail were like this.

Minus one star for the balloon guy! Obviously any Save Mart should get 5 stars; they are on top of their customer service. Have you ever been to this grocery store and NOT been asked if you need help finding anything? They want to walk you to your car if you buy a gallon of milk. They have fresh produce, and a good selection of meat. But… I had my daughter’s first birthday party at a local park. I bought some balloons and thought, «Hello, I need helium for these!» So I call the nearest Savemart to ask if I can take my 5 balloons in to fill up with their helium. The lady in the bakery department kinda chuckled when I asked such a stupid question and said, «of course come in and ask for the gentlemen in the produce section.» Cool. I drive down ask for the produce/balloon guy. He comes out and says it will be 50 cents per balloon. Is this the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard of!!! $ 2.50 for air! «HEYMR. BALLOONGUY, DOYOUTHINKANYONEWOULDNOTICEIFYOUGAVEOUTTHEAIRFORFREE?» ***apparently I had no idea of the supply and demand for helium*** …Helium is very expensive, so he should have charged you for good reason. Not to mention the time spent to do it… it’s not«AIR» if it was air then why didn’t you blow them up yourself? …
