Save Mart

I was buying a lot of stuff an I was at the paying area and I didn’t have that much so I had to take something out but it still was not enuf so a save mart work gave me 1 buck to pay for my stuff.

I wasn’t going to do a full review that was… until I walked through the store and saw how clean and organized it is. I compare it to the Madera store which… is a hot mess.
This location is centrally located right off Herndon, the produce seems fresh and the store itself is clean.
The final amazing thing was… I came at night after my closing work shift and the cashier offered to have someone walk me out to my car for safety. It was just… the extra mile and it made me smile.

I live very close to this store. I shop here 4 – 5 times a month. So far, I don’t have any complaints about the fruit & veggie area. I normally would buy their organic stuff because even if they’re expensive, they don’t rot quick. So I think I can save more money that way. There isn’t a lot of choices in the meat section, yet I could always find what I need there. The service I get from the staff here is fantastic. No problems so far as to how I’m treated… they always offer any help as to getting me a 24-​pack of bottled water from a far away shelf to offering to take my bags to the car. CON: price is too high for most stuff.

When I visit my dad this is the grocery store that us closest to him so we always stop in. I love this store, the lay out is great with everything clearly labeled so it is super easy to find what you are looking for. The produce is very fresh and the deli and meat departments are wonderful. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and make your shopping experience easy. But the thing I love the most about this Save Mart is the craft beer selection. I have never been in a grocery store that has a better selection. I mean you usually have to go to a specialty store to find the amount of craft beer this place carries. This is a wonderful store and has great food. Stop in and enjoy.

This is by far the largest and nicest Save Mart in Fresno. I usually don’t shop at SM anymore cause they are by far the most expensive supermarkets in Fresno. But this one is close to a buddies house and we needed a few things for our meal. I must say the prices at this location are cheaper than other locations!!! Which I don’t understand. Don’t they all have the same prices? I guess not, cause I was surprised to see the prices here!!! The store is well layed out. Very clean and modern. If I have to shop at Savemart, I will go to this location!

This is probably the largest SaveMart in Fresno, definitely in the northwest area. This store has a deeper, wider selection than any of the other stores, even with an aisle of Costco-​sized products for those who just have to buy the biggest size possible.
Because the store is so large, the aisles are very long and it’s not easy to find items unless you know the store well, which I do not. I shop here when I have lots of time to wander the aisles and just see what I can find. When I’m in a hurry, or know exactly what to pick up, I go to the SaveMart at Herndon and Marks or the one at Bullard and West. They are smaller stores with less selection, but it’s easier to find items.
The service at this SaveMart is excellent. The clerks are always pleasant and willing to help me find items. The store is clean and well-​kept.

This Save Mart is large and carries about everything you can think of. They have a great amount of speciality foods and have a large supply of organic vegetables. The store manger, David, is very friendly and always asking me if I found everything I needed. I actually had him special order me an item because I couldn’t find it anywhere else without it being outrageously priced. I like this SaveMart and go about once a week.

I really hate lowering my review of a place, but I have too here. Like Natalie said, this Save mart has gone downhill.
It happened pretty quickly after the Savemart on the loop closed. The GB3 opening was the nail in the coffin here.
The area has seen a huge increase in shady people, lurking around begging, stealing and such. Honestly I won’t go here alone after dark anymore. I just don’t feel safe there anymore.
The store itself has gone downhill too. The last few times I purchased meat here I was terribly disappointed. The quality just was not there. The meat was tough and just not very good.
The produce has gone to hell here. Stopped by a couple weeks ago to pick up some Cilantro and Stoplight peppers. I left empty handed and disgusted.
The peppers were package with moldy stems. I couldn’t believe that almost every pack had either mold or a soft pepper in it. Not worth the $ 4 sale price.
The cilantro was drowning in water and covered in bugs. The only had about 15 bunches left. Either they were full of bugs, or just sopping wet with rotten cilantro throughout. I was sickened a little by this. These bundles should not have been on the shelf in the condition they were in.
The only good thing about this store is Chuck in the pharmacy. He is extremely friendly and helpful. He is more than happy to answer questions about over the counter products too. Very helpful as a lot of pharmacists don’t like being bothered with questions about OTC stuff.
Honestly, skip this store and head to the one at Marks. It’s smaller but it’s cleaner, safer and the staff are a lot more friendly there.

Savemart isn’t what it once was. The customer service is not there. The employees look like they hate their jobs. The prices are pretty ridiculous. The thing that I can’t stand the most is I can’t tell you how many times ive gotten home and realized something is already expired. I don’t plan on giving savemart anymore chances. My experiences have just been that bad lately.

Always have been treated well. Store is extremely clean. The store is fairly new also.
