We were seated right away but it was very early dinner 3:00. The Manager was too busy talking to to someone to even eye contact with us! The waitress didn’t bring out plates for the bread and totally forgot our salads which came after our entrée! Different people brought our baked potatoes and salad! It wasn’t very busy so we don’t get it! My ribs were very good and steak was ok! For the price service could be better

Had a party of 5 arrived just a little before 6pm and we were seated right away. Our server was Mindy and she was amazing. Attentive, helpful and always in the right place at the right time. Had the 10oz Joe’s steak and I like my steaks well done and this had to be the most tender steak I have ever had. The food was great the service was awesome and I WILL be back!

We were sat immediately and our waiter had an impressive memory. He was quick but not so quick that it seemed impersonal. I ordered the twin petit filets and my wife ordered the hamburger. The sourdough app bread was spot on. It was hot, fresh out of the oven. The Caesar salad was alright! Nothing special, but not too bad. The dressing was fresh. I was very impressed with the filets. The smoky flavor was a great addition to the tender beef. The green beans were pretty good as well. I opted for the French fries. Can’t go wrong with French fries! My wife was a big fan of her hamburger. We will definitely be back!

We love this place. We moved away from California 14 years ago, back east we went, and while living back east we discovered NYC, boston, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Mann, many points I between main and the Florida coast. But, we can honestly say that we never experienced the same dish as TJ’s Railroad Camp Scrimp. We returned to Clovis this weekend to visit friends and we just had to return to Tahoe Joes for the Railroad camp scrimp dinner! It was just as good as we remembered. We ordered the large size and ate it, taking in its flavor! Ahh it was great! We ordered the special fish dinner and it was good. We encourage you to put Tahoe Joe’s on your schedule should you find yourself in Fresno/Clovis area and you’re looking for a great meal. Let me know what you think about their food and especially the Railroad camp scrimp?

Every summer it’s the same thing… bad air conditioning. This doesn’t work in Fresno. I guess they will not have their regular customers return.

Took my Girlfriend here a few weeks ago. It was nice. A bit expensive, an appetizer is at the least $ 10 and dinners can be up to $ 15. That expensive to me but all in all its a great place.

Disappointed food was barely ok, found ants in our salt shaker after we used it on our salads, let the waitress know she apologized and said she would replace it. Entrees came out food needed salt again had to ask waitress for salt, she forgot to bring a new one back. I hope it’s not just me but I feel like the service training for this situation feel beyond short.

Every time we come we are disappointed. I decided to take my mom here for her birthday. We had a party of 7 so we were expecting the food to take some time to come out. It took them 2 hours from the time that we were sat to the time we walked out the door. We were finished with our meal waiting for the check for at least 20 minutes. The waiter also messed up and charged us for the Cheesecake when it should’ve been free. During our meal, only half of us would get our water refilled at any given time. I understand that we had a party of 7 but I usually come here as a party of 2 and it takes the same amount of time. To be fair, our waiter had way too many tables he was tending to. PLEASEHIREMORESTAFF! THESERVICEISAWFUL! The food is nothing great. I would rather spend the extra $ 3 per plate and go to Yosemite Ranch.

Yes!!! Best steak and potatoes! Ever!!! Had the prime rib. Meat was so good and tender it tasted like butter. What more can I say? The drinks were awesome had a berry mixed cocktail that was made just the way I like. Not too fruity, not too much alcohol. Hubby had the filet mignon wrapped in bacon and scotch on the rocks! The food was phenomenal. I loved their potatoes with all the fixings served right at the table. Very busy night but there was a lotta hands on deck at this place. We really enjoyed the ambiance and will definitely be back!

We have recently received a gift card to Tahoe Joe’s, This past weekend we wanted to use it. We have been here before but it has been a while. We loved the food and the waitress was the sweetest. I love there pink lemonade. our drinks were always full, and there rib eye steak was too delicious. Needless to say we had to be rolled out of there. we left happy and completely satisfied. We will be definitely going back.

Consistent, reliable and a good value. Service is exceptional. Atmosphere is relaxed. Steak salad and railroad shrimp are hard to beat.

I work really close to this Tahoe Joe’s, making it very convenient for lunch. The service is friendly and everything I have ever ordered has been really good! The Railroad Camp Shrimp is fantastic! The reason I only gave 3 stars is because the service is really slow a lot of the time, which isn’t good when you are on a time limit. Also, if you have more than 4 people, the wait staff has trouble handling it. Definitely do not order the unlimited soup and salad on your lunch hour, since they bring either the soup or the salad to you and seem to forget to come back with the other item. And forget a refill on either, because most likely, you won’t have time. I’ve seen this happen to more than one person. They do seem to be understaffed during the lunch hour, so maybe management needs to step it up. Overall, the food is really good & the service is friendly but slow.

Ordered steak medium came back dry and we’ll done manager then brought me a prime rib that was very bland almost a rubbery taste. The help was OK. Manager a little incoherent on the situation. C grade steakhouse at best.

I would love to give more stars because the food, drinks, service was terrific. The railroad shrimp is addictive, baked potatoes piping hot with great toppings. The big disappointment was in learning that there was no honoring our veterans with a discount unlike so many other local restaurants. I was dining with 2 local vets and felt embarrassed that I had talked this place up so much.

I have always enjoyed Tahoe Joe’s. I think the quality has slipped some since it now is owned by a corporation and the reason for only 4 stars. My favorite is the Joe’s steak. Tonight we got one of the family meals for 5 to 6 people for only 50 bucks. It comes with a ton of Joe’s roast, salad and two sides. I love their take out as they bring it to your car and you don’t even have to get out which was a big plus tonight since I had been doing work around the yard all day.

Me and my boyfriend decided to splurge to celebrate his new job! After deliberating on it for a while we dressed up real nice and fine, and headed over to Tahoe Joe’s. The atmosphere is my kind of atmosphere: rustic, cozy, and just a hint of sophistication. Low lighting done properly, moose head on the wall, log cabin paneling, even a fireplace complete with roaring fire in the waiting area. We were greeted warmly and instantly, and seated quickly. It pays to go out on Mondays! It was a cozy little booth built for two, which was perfect for the occasion. The noise level was a gentle hum, no loud obnoxious music, not too many people, and everyone behaving themselves. We quickly realized that with $ 60 in our wallets we were not going to be able to afford our own separate entrees AND a slice of cake(the boyfriend insisted that this was what he really was craving). We were about to start debating what to share when we came across their Dinner for Two option: Share an appetizer and desert, and each get their own entrée for $ 42. PERFECT! We decided on the Seared Ahi Tuna for appetizer, I got the 10 oz Joe’s Steak, and the boyfriend got Joe’s Style Roasted Chicken. The waitress accommodated our request to change our desert from the Nevada Cheesecake to the Ski Jump Chocolate Cake. I also slipped away from my table long enough to ask the hostess if she could arrange some champagne flutes to arrive at our table the same time our desert did. She and her manager were incredibly enthusiastic about the idea and were more than happy to help out. The tuna got to the table quickly. It was nicely presented with the tuna stacked in two rows next to a lovely salad. I love the spice used around the tuna. Next came my salad, and the boyfriend’s potato and cheese soup. We also received a couple sourdough rolls, which were warm, soft, and perfectly amazing. They put some freshly ground pepper on my salad, which I thought perked it up nicely. I tried the soup, and it was okay, but I thought it tasted a bit too much like flour, and not enough like cheese or potato. Glad I stuck with the salad! We had a little down time to chat with each other(which is what we wanted!), before the food came out. As I stated, I ordered the steak with a vegetable rice pilaf, and the boyfriend got the chicken with Cabin Fries. Perhaps I haven’t had the opportunity to sample many steaks in my life(the boyfriend strongly disagrees), but I can say it has been awhile since I have been able to afford one. What I CAN say about this one, is that it was sheer and utter heaven. This steak is slow roasted for hours, and this must have been what accounted for the ease the meat fell away from my knife, and the literal melt-in-your-mouth feel and taste. I ordered it medium rare, and they warned me that due to the way the steak is cooked they can offer me a section of it that would have a pink center. I consented and they sure as hell delivered! The boyfriend also loved his dish, saying the chicken was also falling off the bone. I didn’t try his dish, but it looked delicious and not greasy at all. Our sides were good, but nothing in comparison to the main course. We only ate about half of what was on our plates, thanks to the appetizers and salads beforehand. Finally the chocolate cake came out, along with a candle and the champagne flutes I asked for. The boyfriend was flattered and we dug into a HUGE piece of cake, topped with a hillside of fresh whipped cream. We barely made a dent in this as well: this thing could easily feed 4 – 5 people. 3 to go boxes, please! All of this, with the soda he ordered earlier and it came out just under $ 50. We were full, with plenty of food to go home with, and plenty satisfied with the experience. I look forward to making this a special occasion destination from now on!

It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that great either. I’ll admit that I have been spoiled by the small independent restaurants that lined the cute little main street of the small Colorado town I had to leave behind.(I’m not telling where!) Adjusting to the slew of corporate chain restaurants here in Fresno is something I tested, but waters I don’t want to dive in. Something has to be said about small local ownership and the quality that comes out of the attention to detail that restaurants like these just don’t really have! This place tries, but it’s a far reach. Whatever you do, DON’T order the calamari!!! I was picturing a nice basket full of battered and fried little squids, tentacle«O’s», and maybe a few cured strips thrown in there. NO!!! The whole order was a slab of squid, just like the fishers down at the marinas in San Diego used to give away! It was disappointing! The spinach/artichoke dip was average. I like it served with bread instead of chips. These were the really cheesy looking red, green, plain super processed chips.(Blah) The kids didn’t like their soup. Surprise, surprise!!! I was happy with baby green salad! Finally a dinner salad in this town for grown ups! It had crumbly Bleu cheese and vinaigrette. I had the petite filets cooked to medium. I have cooked that at home on the grill. Bacon wrapped red meat is always good. This was nothing special other than they give you two and top it with Gorgonzola. Finally, some flavor that reaches for a higher level! My kids were all excited about the swordfish and then when they started to dig in, it wasn’t what they remembered from the last time they were there. It’s pretty bad when a 10 year old can spot inconstancy in a restaurant! The waiter was nice, but STRANGE!!! He kept lingering over to our table and trying to tell us about his personal life and wanted to hold our baby. My thoughts are: Dude, I didn’t come here to hear all about your life! That’s great you have five kids, but I didn’t ask to see pictures so why are you pulling them out? I came here to have a good time with my family, not hear about yours! Prolly not gonna go back!
