This is the 4th time I’ve been here and I haven’t been disappointed at all. They have an actual vegetation broth for their veggie phở. They are friends and don’t waste a lot of time. Going to be a regular spot for us for a long time to come I think.

So I was in town for Thanksgiving and Wayside is the only place that served phở in northwest Fresno. The food is ok. I would say I’ve had better phở broth. It was a bit plain and lacked any real depth of flavor. I am not really a fan of their bang mi. Where is the pâté? The band minis very westernized in my opinion. Also, they should give you a chance to choose your sauce for their spring rolls. I didn’t like their peanut sauce and would have preferred nuoc cham sauce instead. Service is a bit slow. So 1 star removed for service and 1 for their food’s flavor.

This cool little offshoot of a popular Sacramento chain is a welcome addition to the Fresno Vietnamese scene. While Wayside has definitely«Americanized» their noodles a little, they are still pretty good. We got: –The #2: Grilled pork rice plate. Very tasty marinade and yummy salad. –The #5: Mango beef. Great flavor, not too sweet, lots of veggies to go with. –The #14: Yellow curry. Not what I was expecting, as there was very little curry and the flavor was a bit off. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Everyone liked the #2 and #5, and there were mixed reviews of the #14. Call ahead to order if you get takeout, as it took over 20 minutes for them to make our food!

I think this is the second phở restaurant on Shaw, which is rare, but I’m glad they are near me since I live in Madera. I came to have lunch with my fiancé one day since he work in the same plaza. I must say that I enjoyed the phở and the broth was very good. The price is not too expensive and server was nice. Location is kind of hidden in the back of the plaza, but its worth going there. Will return soon and am probably going to have the fiancé pick up to-go once in awhile.

Friday night. Server was working by himself and STILL was best service in a long time. Delicious food. Beautiful presentation. Fair price and lots of food. Wonderful date night! Server was wonderful.

This is a nice little Vietnamese noodle house. The area is clean, yet simple. There is a bar for modest drinks, and the kitchen is open to view. The food is fresh and delicious. Portions are large, even for the ‘small bowl’ of phở. There were 3 of us, and we each ordered a small bowl of phở. We all had leftovers to take home. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff are friendly. We will be back!

At first I was a bit skeptical because of the 3 Star so i decides to take a risk. I’m a Unilocaler and I gotta say this place was amazing !!! Service was great and Theresa was quick and efficient… food was outstanding with good portions and fair prices… I will be back for sure!

The service was very good at Wayside. We had a very friendly server who made our lunch enjoyable. Since it finally cooled down it was time for some phở. I had the rare steak and brisket, my bff had the seafood and wonton. We also shared a crunchy chivken salad. Both were good, but the phở could have used more seasoning of the broth. It will do in a pinch when I can’t make it down to Phở 90.

Saw a sign for a Vietnamese restaurant and we headed there, bypassing other tasty lunch options. Bad choice. There was only about 6 people in a restaurant with 2 servers on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Long wait for the server to take our order. Both of us ordered a salad which took forever… their open kitchen allowed us to see the chef as he disappeared for long stretches at a time… maybe making a salad was pretty stressful so he had to take a smoke break? Contemplated leaving multiple times, but at that point we had too much time invested. My wife’s plate came a few minutes before mine… really? Portion size abound half normal. Food had ok flavor warranting the 2 star review… though I was so hungry by the time we got our food i may not trust my judgement. Not my favorite dining experience.

Did not expect much, and it lived up to that expectation. In this particular shopping center I would not go for anything authentic South East Asian, or Asian. I had a Groupon so I thought I would try it out, I had heard good things about their creative rice paper rolls. I was so sadly disappointed with my crab roll. The picture in the menu is not what I received. I could not find any softshell crab but for little fried slivers of what could’ve been a strip of care for all I know. I ordered combo seafood noodle soup. It would have been nice to have some fake crab or fishballs in there. Tentacle squid was kind of odd. But veggies were good and the broth was ok, a little under seasoned though. I do really like that they have the wide egg noodles, not a lot of places of that. All in all, the place is clean and cute, the service friendly. I don’t see myself going back. If I want noodle soup in this area or anything Vietnamese in the area, I will drive the extra couple of blocks to Mission Village and Hoang Lan.

I got a dealsaver to wayside a while back. This is a long overdue review. So I ordered a bowl of phở with rare brisket. It was really good but not so memorable. It just faded into the montage of all the other bowls I’ve had. What made this place really stand out was their atmosphere and service. I went to the wayside in fig garden. That location is nice and is surrounded by other costly brand name stores and fancy markets. The place is clean and modern. The humbleness of a bowl of phở and the contemporary décor of the restaurant takes the experience of this Vietnamese breakfast food to another level. The lighting is a tad softer, the tv’s are up on the walls and the servers are younger. Speaking of service, it was great. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was good and I would go back again. What was memorable about my experience was the fun vibes, the no stress atmosphere and the laughs we shared.

Thought I would finally try this place out. I love Phở. My usual thing to do at a new Phở restaurant is to order chicken phở because if the place screws that up i would not go back. While $ 8.50 is about $ 1-$ 1.50 higher for a large bowl than I usually pay where I usually go, I understand the higher price for its location. This restaurant caters to non Asian folks and it shows in the taste of my phở. Before adding any of the condiments to the soup I fist like to taste the broth on its own and this one lacked any depth of flavors and very light bodied. Fish oil is not on the tables and needs to be asked for. They seem friendly enough and do offer a large menu on their website. If I have a better food experience I will update my rating.

I ordered the spring rolls with chicken and the better half ordered the crispy crunch salad. Talk about a filling salad with lots of flavor. The portion for the salad was just right and cheap. The spring rolls were just average. Not a lot of flavor bit I doctored it up with peanut sauce and Sriracha. Some of the items here are pretty good like the Drunken noodles but for Phở I like Huong Lan.

This place is awesome. The Wayside bowl(get the garlic rice) & the phở(especially the broth) are fantastic. The way special rolls are way special.

Ok. Been here 4 times. I never get the same dish. Never disappoints. Good for a large family(we had 12 here once) or just the two of you. Service is a little slow during peak times but is always correct with your order. Quality of food is SPOTON! Very high quality and food is served HOT. Never cold or Luke warm. The outdoor seating area is THEPLACE to sit. Indoor area is a little too bright for me.(Simple change of the light bulbs would do the trick) Been here 4 times and will return again and again!

I love this place. I’ve been coming here for over a year and I love it. I’ve been here at least 20 times, so ignore the bad reviews about this place. Those Unilocalers probably A) have never worked in a restaurant before or B) the picky/glass half-empty kind of people. Anyways, service wise: I’ve always had great service here. The servers are very accommodating whether I’m dining in or ordering to-go. Sometimes the food may take 5 minutes more than usual, but that’s only if I’ve gone in during a lunch rush/dinner rush which is understandable. Food deets: I have never had a bad meal here. Honestly I usually come here for the phở when I’m sick or hungover, but the phở here is actually pretty good for this side of town. I don’t want to have to drive to the hood to get my phở, Wayside Noodles is so much more convenient(and cleaner too). My fave items are: the Ultimate Phở King Phở(love the name lol), Shrimp Spring Rolls(sub sweet chili sauce), and the Drunken Noodles(the chicken and seafood options are both delicious). Their portion sizes are big, I always have left overs. Also I recommend their hot teas, or getting the strawberry milkshake to-go as a dessert. Now for the bad: nothing. Now go get some Wayside Noodles in your belly.

Service was nice. Ordered a medium sized bowl of Phở. I believe it was the combo one that was supposed to include all sorts of meat. Took about 15 minutes to receive our meal. Very, very disappointed at what was served. The broth of my phở tasted fresh and not oily(like I’ve had at other restaurant). However, the amount of meat provided per bowl was ridiculously small. I was able to lift all the scrap of meat in my bowl on a spoon. Asked the waiter if that was normal and he stated yes. Won’t be returning. Don’t recommend unless you want a bowl of noodles and broth.
