Applebee’s

Didn’t give this one much of a chance but went on a Thursday around 7 pm. Place was half full but still had a couple waiting to be seated. Host said they couldn’t seat us for at least ten minutes because they were understaffed although I could clearly see three servers standing around the door to kitchen. Since we had an infant I said «thats fine but can we at least sit at a table and we’ll wait until someone can see us». Host said no because there was a line. I guess he meant the couple in front of us. Gave it a minute then walked next door and had great service. Not a good sign for a place in this area to be so dead and understaffed on a Thursday night. Probably did us a favor especially after reading other reviews.

Loved the hamburger special on Mondays 6.99 and could sub the fries for steamed veggies which were excellent. Loved everything but the awful slow service. They were not busy but way too long waiting for food then the bill. Planned to cool your heels while you wait

Returned for same order and terrible. Hamburger and fries would have been better at a drive through. Got our order wrong type of hamburger. fries not fresh not the same quality as first time. Never again

I love Applebee’s, but this particular location needs work! Service in the bar area is really bad… slow and unfriendly. We were there on a Sunday night and they were not busy, but it still took a very long time to get waited on and then it took way too long to get our drinks. We ordered an appetizer from the little kiosk thing that are now on the tables. Our appetizer was gone before our drinks were delivered. The manager could be seen behind the bar talking to the bartender several times. Rather than chewing him out or shooting the breeze (whatever), she should have been pitching in! The number of dirty glasses lined up on the bar was unbelievable! The manager was also seen sitting at the bar on her cell phone at one point. Someone PLEASE do something about this restaurant. I would hate to give up on it.

This Applebee’s is terrible! The server was not very social so she would just walk up and stare at us… I expect that the servers are a little more outgoing then that and easily approachable. Then, she wasn’t using anything to write the orders down. I told my husband when she left I bet she will mess up something. Sure enough my food came out wrong. Probably wouldn’t have happened if she wrote it down! She was apologetic when the food came out wrong but it was her fault for not writing down the order! The food is mediocre and the service sucks. Avoid it at all costs, we will never go back!

When we got here, we found out they only have three servers working. The wait was supposed to be 10 minutes. It was a lot longer than that and one of the reasons is that they kept seating people that came in after us. After we told the kid what he was doing, he said well that was all my fault. I said it sure was. So he finally set us down. After waiting 10 minutes and no server or anybody coming by, we left. This store is horrible. Skip it and go to Land and Cattle.

Small gripes added up to become big things
Pluses:
* Wide assortment of draught brewskies
* Perfect Margarita is darn close to perfect. Made with 1800, Cointreau and lime juice
* Good prices overall even after Happy Hour
Gripes:
* You don’t want to say this about a place that serves food… needs a professional cleaning, top to bottom. Shoes sticking to the floor, for example, is not what you want
* Order was incorrect. Cheerfully corrected. But why the inattentiveness?
* House Caesar Salad was over-dressed…by a lot. Was the preparer trained in basic food preparation?
* No Dijon Mustard. A basic condiment. Honey or yellow mustard is not a substitute
These food details will kill a restaurant. Is anyone paying attention?
Only good drinks saved a two-​star rating. I’m a regular at other Applebee’s and this was my first at the Preston Road location.

Ordered a Blue Moon on draft while sitting at the bar and the male bar tender gave me a horrible pour — a full two inches was gone before I took a single sip. «Photo posted» WTH. I asked him what’s up with that and he said per Mgmt they have to. Guess I won’t be back here any time soon.
Nothing like asking for a tall one and getting a short one pour.

My issue with this particular location isn’t about the food, which was great. It’s with one particular bartender. This is the guy who sings at the top of his lungs while behind the bar. I, for one, sat at the bar wanting to watch the game with my wife and have a meal, not have dinner and a show. That’s not my main gripe, however.
This guy proceeded to have a lengthy conversation, at a high volume, about every highly inappropriate topic he could think of. I’m no prude, but I don’t want to hear you bash cops and the military. We customers don’t want to hear it. If you had spent that time actually serving us, we might not be leaving reviews like this.
Let’s hope management reads this.

I ordered the cedar plank with potatoes and vegetables and I got a tiny peice of salmon, TWO (yes! 2!) tiny potatoes and a slab of overcooked spinach. This was my worst Applebee’s experience yet! The salmon was great — I’m just so appalled at the amount and the quality of the sides they gave me. This dish was $ 17 — really? You really outdid yourself Applebee’s!

I came for lunch. ordered my favorite Applebees dish oriental grilled chicken salad. i sat at the bar.
Food. The grilled oriental chicken salad .was good. I really enjoy that dish Applebees offers and order it whenever i go to an Applebees
Drinks. I ordered a water with lemon and a dr pepper with lemon. Both the drinks came out with very little ice. The dp (which I love dp and drink it on the regular) tasted flat watered down i was so a little disappointed about it. im sure they would have gave me another no problem but i didnt ask. I had about two sips :(
Service .was pretty good. There was one bartender. The only thing that sucked was my dp. Kind of hard to screw up soda. Before i left i ask for a go to cup filled with uce. thinking/​assuming he would put fresh dp in it and it would be better. He brought out a kids size cup and i asked for a larger one. He said he couldnt give me a larger cup without charging me. I told him i already paid $ 2.59 for a flat watered down soda. He told me that they do inventory on the cups bla bla. I just left it there and went to 711 lol.
Atmosphere. It was a normal lunch crowd. Not crowded but not empty. There is a dinning area. bar area with tvs. And an outdoor patio to the side of the bar with tvs.
Overall i wont be coming back here soon. I will when i want my fav salad because this applebees is close to my house. I just will make sure if my soda is gross i will say something next time and ask for another one :)

The food is definitely five stars for sure. I only gave them four stars because it took them forever to seat me. This place has good food and service. i love how they are open till 2am because I don’t get off of work till 1am. this place is smart because they make more money by staying open till 2am.

This is by far not the greatest place in the world for food, so I just cannot bring myself to give four stars or even five. However, the ease of ordering online with a gift card for pickup after a FC Dallas match is incredible. For about $ 10, I ordered the french onion soup and a kid’s meal of fried shrimp, broccoli, and orange juice. The orange juice comes in a juice box, which I thought was cute.
The bread with melted cheese for the french onion soup was a bit hard. It took a while to soak the bread in the soup, but even after 15 minutes, the bread was still really hard. The fried shrimp and broccoli though were very flavorful. You get about 5 pieces of shrimp, and they’re so crispy, I also ate the tails (my favorite part!). The place did forget to add a side of tartar sauce to my order (too tired to check before I left), but this was not needed. The broccoli wasn’t dry at all and had the right amount of butter.
If I had another gift card, I probably would return. The perk is that this restaurant’s open until 2AM, which is rare. Even the Cheesecake Factory nearby closes at midnight I believe. About 1.5 hours after the FC Dallas game ended on Friday, there weren’t that many people, which I was surprised. I guess most people go home afterwards!

Two stars ONLY earned because i must say the food was good. It was tasty, hot and appetizing. The service on the other hand was TERRIBLE. Our server named K Mian from the name on the check, because he never really gave us his name at the start of the meal. My first item ordered was sold out, it took him literally 12 minutes to come back and tell me that. Then needing to pick a new item to eat I asked him what cut of meat or steak that is on the menu. His reply was it is a Bourbon steak, he had NO IDEA what kind of steak. Clueless. Next i wanted to have a side salad replace the potatoes on my entrée and he would not do that either. Finally… I was supposed to get sweet potatoe fries with my meal and he messed that up also. Over all the reviews on here are right. Applebees good food, BAD service.

I usually don’t do reviews, but the service was so bad that it motivated me to do this. We walked in expecting to be greeted, but there was no one at the front… so after waiting for about 10 minutes, this girl came and took us to our seat (she had an attitude too).The waiter came and took our drink order right away and that was the only good thing that I can say because everything went down hill from there. After waiting about 5 minutes for our drinks, we ordered our dinner.
The waiter was so slow that by the time our food came I no longer had an appetite. This place had a really bad vibe also. I could tell that everyone one around us was having a bad experience also. AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COST!!! Not sure who the owner is but you need to try again maybe a hotdog stand will be a better venture for you smh

Ask for Audrey the up at the bar. Great service and always smiling. The food is all right. Drink specials are good. Overall, a solid experience.

First, I love Applebee’s. They have good food and great prices all with a good atmosphere for a group or couple to go without dropping a lot of money. I’ve been to locations all over DFW over the years with little to no issues whatsoever. I’ve been to this location once and will not go back again.
My wife and I eat out frequently and believe me when I say that I’d rather eat a half cooked burrito from a gas station than spend a dollar at this restaurant.
Dismiss this as a negative review spawned by an overreaction if you’d like, but that is not the case.
The restaurant was not packed at all but we were seated near the kitchen in the back. The service was bad. Though the waitress wasn’t straight up mean, it seemed like they kept the customers separated and the hostess and waitress were condescending. Both my wife and I felt very disrespected by the way we were talked to, even though we remained kind and did not complain, (though I wish I would have). We thought we were being overly sensitive until another couple who were seated right behind us, (did I mention we were already by the kitchen on an empty row with 7 booths on each side), complained as well.
The waitress also asked if I wanted another beer before they have last call, so I agreed. Then, five minutes later, (no exaggeration), The hostess walks up and said she needed to take my beer. I told her that my waitress had just brought it to me and she said, «sorry, we have to take it, it’s the law.» If that is the case, why would your waitress offer it, bring it, walk off and then send the hostess right up. I asked them to take it off and she said, if I hadn’t taken a sip already she could. Then she, the hostess, came back with the check.
Add this experience to the separated seating, next to the kitchen, the racist attitude towards my wife and other customers in the same boat as us, I would recommend mustard packets from a gas station over funding this branch of Applebee’s.
I’m not done with Applebee’s, I love it, but I am done with this location without a doubt. It shouldn’t be supported.

Stood at the door hungry and invisible for 4 minutes while whole staff stares at us. 8:30pm on a sunday night and it wasnt busy at all. So we decided if they dont want ourbusiness we would go somewhere else. We went next door to Texas land and cattle.

On a Sunday, afternoon, I would not expect to wait 48 min for food. When food was delivered, only 3 out of 4 plates arrived. About 8 min later the final plate came out. The last had hot tasty food. The first were cold and over cooked. Pasta was cold to the touch and steak was WELL done not med rare. It took A LONG time get drinks. Don’t eat here

Tonight the service was top notch but the food was not. My wife ordered an Oriental Chicken salad. It was missing some ingredients and very bland. So she got a Thai salad instead — still pretty tasteless — too stingy with the dressing. Also, mixed vegetables were poorly cooked — carrots too hard, squash overcooked, and too much broccoli.
One thing that really put us in a bad humor was the music. This is a family casual dining place and they’ve got White Snake and similar stuff cranked up past loud. Bad choice. Feels like management is not paying attention.

It seems no matter what apple bee’s I go to they are all horrible. I don’t quite remember them being so bad back 10 year’s ago… or maybe it’s because I just looked past it better than I do now.
Either way, they all suck. Customer service is a thing of the past, the food is nothing exceptional, the only way to get me in one of these joints is for example… HAVE to use a gift card up (you so nicely got for Christmas.)
