Chicken Express

Was very disappointed with the way I was treated tonight. Ordered a large family meal and an extra family side of corn nuggets which they forgot when I went through the drive-​through, I didn’t realize until I got home. So since we live so close I decide to go ahead and return and inform them that they forgot the nuggets and the look that I received and the way I was treated made me feel like they thought I was lying and didn’t believe me was just a very uncomfortable feeling in situation. The thing that’s frustrating is I felt like I was being understanding because it was a large order.

I love the chicken or the chicken tenders here. I love ordering the honey mustard with my tenders. I love the corn nuggets! The chicken is moist and delicious. The rolls are very yummy!!! I have tried a lot of the sides they are all good.

I don’t mind waiting for freshly cooked items such as the catfish or the hot wings. But today I was forgotten after I was told to pull up to a waiting area in the drive through. I was told 5 minutes, that then became 20 minutes, then became 30 minutes. When a mgr. did finally come out to check on me, it was to ask me what I was waiting for. Are there no checks and balances for drive through??? The mgr. of the day, Andrea, put my name down on a clipboard and told me to tell whoever was working that I spoke with her and this same meal would be free next I come through. That assumes there will be a next time and I told her that I would not be waiting for the hot wings again. There are far too many options for great hot wings in the area, especially if I want to wait 30 minutes. Chicken EXPRESS did not live up to its name today.

I am so glad we have this here near McKinney. I think its better than Poppey’s Chicken in CA. Yay, this is where I get my fried chicken fixed. Service is very friendly too. Thanks Guys, we appreciate you!

This place has the worst fried chicken I’ve ever had. The meat is tough and the breading is tasteless.

I don’t usually give reviews, however I was very impressed with the service. My mother, son and I where there for dinner and Felix (the manager) made sure we had great service. He even removed our plates from the table. He made us feel as if we where not in a fast food place. The chicken wad also very moist and delish. The rolls and biscuits where hot and fresh. We will definitely be going back.

The lady working the counter was so nice. We told her it was our first time eating here. She suggest the daily special. She said the strips are really good. She was right they are good. Also when I asked for a small drink she offered the large said all drinks are $ 1.00. I like places that have a knowledgeable staff. Also as we were leaving she gave us coupons. I will be back with or without the coupons. Thanks for the amazing experience for our first time here.

Good crispy chicken, great coleslaw, rolls are tasty. you get alot of food for the money. They are fast, and i have never had a bad experience, always get the order RIGHT, It’s great of you just don’t have time to cook.

Not impressed with the chicken but love the sides!
They have daily specials so definitely ask since they don’t advertise those. On Tuesday they had 5 thighs for $ 5. The chicken was juicy and the breading was crispy but it was very greasy. I wish they had a spicy option. The chicken tenders are again okay. Though they were crispy… they still had no flavor. I do appreciate that when I ordered the 4 tender combo I received an extra tender!
The new mac and cheese is not bad. Just a tad bit salty for my taste. The mashed potatoes and white gravy are standard. But those ROLLS… and the sweet tea will make me come back.
Love the 92 cents large sweet tea all day and everyday.

Close to the house so we eat here a lot. The chicken is pretty good and crispy. The rolls and iced tea are good. The only thing is sometimes they give me double gravy and no mashed potatoes. Also my mashed potatoes are pretty runny and not that tasty. This place could use some spicy chicken or dish and better mashed potatoes. Other then that it’s okay.

This review applies ONLY to this particular Chicken Express. There is another one we go to on Lake Forest Drive in McKinney and it is wonderful! This one is on my way home from my kids’ volleyball practice so it is more convenient, but I will drive out of my way to avoid it. Unreal how they can do so much so poorly: terrible, slow, rude customer service, chicken is never right, sometimes overcooked sometimes under, over or under seasoned, they even mess up their sweet tea! I had three teenagers spit it out because it tasted like syrup. They burn the rolls. Sounds comical but it is true, I have given them three chances now and every single time I left disappointed. The last time (and I mean LAST time) we went we sat outside at the drive thru for 15 full minutes. I sent my girls in to check and it was just sitting there. A couple of minutes later a very rude girl brought it out. We would have left but we had already paid. AVOID this location… go to Lake Forest Drive, great chicken and GREAT service.

I like chicken express, but avoid this one if you can. It doesn’t seem to be well run. They mess my order up every 3^rd time.

My family and I love it here! We go once every few months or so, and the food is always delicious. The service is great… what more can we ask for?

My last few visits have been lest than stellar. They are very consistent with their chicken but they seem to have problems with their catfish selections. I enjoy the chicken strips a lot. The catfish is good too but it has been pressed so flat that I am not sure that I am getting a full filet.

Salty chicken!!! Very expensive. Go to Kroger’s deli and get the same food without so much salt at less than half the price. But good sweet tea.

Tried the fried chicken and it was good. We got the 12 piece and it wasn’t filled with cheaper legs and thighs, it had 3 big breasts in it. I thought it was better than KFC now that KFC is serving tough, stringy chicken. This was so moist that my daughter, who only eats dark meat, had a leftover breast the next night and loved it. Again, with the mashed potatoes and coleslaw we had it for 2 or 3 meals.

Much better strips than many fast food chicken places. Love the sides as well and their smoothies are yum. Service here can be good or iffy depending on what time/​day you go. Overall its pretty good.

My first encounter with Chicken Express was at the Fort Worth branch. I didn’t even know it existed until one day, after visiting the Fort Worth garden, we were hungry and didn’t know what to eat. We saw this place that looked a little like Sonic but with the name «Chicken Express». We were a little curious and gave that a try. It was the best fried chicken I have ever had. The meat was oh so juicy.
While the chicken from this branch is not as good as the one in Fort Worth, it is still by far the best around north Dallas.
