Rock 101 is our favorite place to eat in the DFW metroplex. It’s an added bonus that it’s right down the street from my house! I have lived here 4 years & probably eaten here about 100 times. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, music & drinks, Etc. I haven’t had anything from here that I didn’t love. Waitstaff is so friendly & chill. They act like they are your friends, which I really enjoy. No stuffiness. Food is delicious, full of flavor & right out of the oven! Every time. I have probably ordered just about everything off the menu by now, so that’s saying a lot. I have only been here one time where it was packed. I absolutely love this about Rock101. There’s always enough people to be bringing in business, but not so many that you have to wait for a seat to open up, like most other places in Frisco. I always want to tell people about this place, but part of me regrets it because then it’s not our little hidden gem! ;) Place has a great vibe, with outstanding food & impeccable service. I will continue to come here frequently & recommended this place to everyone I know. Great job, Rock101. Keep up the good work! :)

I went back recently and had a great experience. The staff was welcoming and attentive, the beer was freezing and the food was delicious. We ordered the nachos to start(although I would have preferred a little more queso the chips were on point) and shared a pasta(with a tasty white sauce) and shrimp poboy(a little bland but Tabasco made up for it). The beer is a little more expensive than other places in the area but the food portions were huge so it all evened out. Will definitely be back.

We ate here for lunch 5 or so months ago and the food was good, but not particularly memorable. I liked the ambiance so we took the plunge when it popped up on Groupon. So glad we did… The buffalo chicken sandwich was better than average. However, the crab leg and the shrimp boil were shockingly good(excellent). Crab was fresh and plentiful, ditto on the huge slightly spicy shrimp. Joe’s Crabshack this ain’t, think near coastal good(I’m from Florida). Mark the manager was friendly and helpful without bring intrusive. We’re going back. Update; Mark is running this place like a top. Saturdays can be tough after 7 as they get ready for the show. Mark squeezed us in and made it a great experience. We love this place, great food and service. Eggs Benedict and has towns are perfect. I’m a guitar player and have yet to come here for a show(what they are known for), the food is that good.

Not Impressed. Tried 4 things off the menu, all were sub par at best. The Cheese Fries = Sucked. The Fried pickles = Sucked. The Molten Cake = Sucked. The place was Dead(11pm) when we got there. I know why… Only thing I can say positive is the Bartender was nice and friendly.

I love this place. It’s fun, edgy and I have liked everything I have ordered here. We went on a Sunday morning and they had a guy playing the sax on stage. It was fun. They are kid friendly too(at least at the time of day I have been there). I’ve had the BLT and a few different items off the menu. Their beer selection is decent. It’s not all boring generic beers. Our waitresses have been efficient and nice. Always seated promptly.

Definitely my favorite Little Elm bar. They bring good bands from time to time and some weeknights they have live acoustic sessions. Always enjoy a good beer/drink with live music. It’s a very rockish themed bar– they play good music videos on their screens– always have some music, either live or on video. Never tasted their food, other than late night bites and they’re just okay, but they do have really cold beer and good drinks.

Came here this past Monday at around 5pm. I’ve been here a few times before and the food has always been good. This last time was definitely not the same. My bf ordered the brisket sliders, brisket was dry and they forgot to put bbq sauce on the sliders. I ordered the pick two with shrimp and oysters, shrimp were small and the oysters were not very fresh tasting. They also seemed like they were left in the fryer just a tad bit longer than they should have been. The fries were good and the beer was cold so that was good. Also our waitress was really nice and attentive and so was the bar tender. 5 stars for service but only 2 for food this time around.

Ordered a breakfast platter which showed up with the tiniest little cup of maple syrup. As soon as we saw how little the syrup was we said we’d need extra syrup to which they said it wasn’t syrup that they ran out of syrup earlier in the day and they made a mix of honey and gave us that. Now…they are across the street from Walmart for one so why they didn’t have someone run over I can’t answer. Second thank goodness none of us had an allergy to honey as we all assumed we were about to eat maple syrup. In fact we wouldn’t have ordered breakfast if we were told beforehand that they were out. The food was cold, the hash browns were undercooked, the eggs were not cooked right, they forgot a plate of shrimp twice when asked. It was all around a terrible experience. At one point our waiter(who did nothing wrong, he had no idea they substituted honey until another server came and told him) said the manager was aware and sends her apologies. I was SHOCKED to hear that a manager had been there the whole time and hadn’t come over to speak with us. We packed up to go, as we were paying is when the manager finally came up to apologize. Complete lack of effort on everyone’s part(except our waiter) Not going back and would never suggest anyone to go there.

After our last visit the owner emailed me and also asked us to come back and apologized for the way things happened on our second visit. We came back for our third time and everything was much better. I got a burger this time around and while it wasn’t cooked medium like I asked it was still pretty good. My wife had the herb chicken plate and thought it tasted great. Based on the owners quick response and our food this time around its safe to say we would come back again.

Checked in for Def Leggend concert. Had a burger and mozzarella sticks, which were both great. Have not enjoyed the brunch in the past, but the burgers are great! Our server, Brooke, was very friendly and efficient! Best service we have had there. The service is a little slow, but that is expected on a concert night. If you come for a concert, I definitely recommend purchasing advance tickets.

Oh my where to begin… we came here Saturday night for the Journey Tribute band. We reserved our table online the Monday before which was a good idea because the place was packed when we got there at 8pm. However… when we got there our«reserved table» was a booth in the very back of the restaurant by the door. Really??? Lesson learned. The online reservation is a good idea as long as you get there early because it’s first come first serve for the best reserved table. In my opinion, they need to prioritize the location based on when the reservation was placed, not when you arrive. Kind of defeats the purpose of paying the premium. Second complaint… the service was incredibly slow to get food and drinks. It appeared as if they were understaffed. Third complaint… there was little or no space to move around. I guess some people thought it was a concert and moved their chairs a few feet in front of the stage which created an obstacle course for people getting to the bathroom. Fourth complaint… the mixed drinks were watered down. 3 people in my party switched to beer or wine. The positive… when we eventually got our food it was really, really good! I got the cheese fries and my husband got the Rock 101 burger which was terrific. And even though the service was slow, our server was very friendly despite being overwhelmed by the crowd.

Ok, so I’ve been to Rock 101 on a number of occasions. I have been during«off peak» hours. I have always had really good food when I’ve stopped in for lunch. Here comes the«BUT»… Myself and three other friends heard about the Journey cover band, Eclipse, playing here on Saturday 1⁄16. Naturally, we giggled at the flood of emotions that came rushing from the thought of hearing their songs. I promptly went online the Monday before the show and reserved my table. I was able to look at a map and choose the price range for my tickets. I chose the middle of the road. Not the worst tickets you can get, but close to the stage and certainly within viewing distance. My friends arrive to get seated and they were quickly disappointed. Apparently, reserving a table means«first come — first served». Ummmmm why did I pre-purchase my tickets, pay extra for the online transaction and get the seat by the entrance door? They informed us that the«front» tables were for six or more people. NOTATALLWHATTHEWEBSITEINDICATED. We can’t see the stage because of all the people standing beside our booth. We have lots of butts in the face — not my idea of fun at a live concert venue. Then…the service. UGH!!! No way in hell are you getting a buzz at this place. The average wait time was over 30 minutes to get a drink. So, I wised up and ordered two doubles at a time. Just as well ordered water and saved my $ 30.00. No alcohol whatsoever in my vodka-tonic. My friends ordered food. The hamburger that one received looked good and he says tasted good. The cheese fries that the other person ordered, had me swollen and puffy for days because of the high salt content. There appeared to be about five people for the wait staff to a standing room only event. Bottom line… This place has potential. But they, in no way, can handle a large crowd like they had Saturday night. The overall layout of the bar is not ideal for eating, drinking, dancing, and mingling. I really don’t want to «Stop Believing», but these«Open Arms» are going to have to go «Separate Ways», maybe I’ll go to the«Wheel in the Sky». Un-«Faithfully», «I’ll Send Her My Love»… Stacy

1 star for the food but I guess it depends on what you’re coming here for entertainment or food, we came for both. The food was horrible I mean a total FAIL, Im surprised no one got sick from the raw/undercooked food they served! The menu is all over the place, definitely not food you’d want to eat at a bar but they do have burgers which we ordered and had to send back FOUR times… I felt horrible for the server but seriously that cow was still MOOING and if they can’t get a burger right you can imagine how the rest of the dinner went. 4 stars for the venue!!! Now for the good part… Texas Flood was performing and we had front row seats! The best seats in the house and OMG they were so GOOD! I’d never heard them before but I love blues and to my surprise they cover it all… SRV, BB King, Steve Miller Band, Jimi Hendrix… and they were seriously great! Cool little spot to have drinks and listen to music, but next time I’m eating beforehand!

Came here for drinks and to enjoy the live music, also had the bang bang shrimp. Great ambience, pretty good apps, and a decent selection all around. Didn’t try a full meal this time, will try again!

Came In today, first-time. I have been in Little Elm now 3 years, and finally worked up my nerve to try this place, ok first impression walking in was ok great it is kid friendly, at least early on I am sure. I also noticed the Mission Statement on the wall, can’t say it was a Rocking experience, but it was not bad either, our waiter was nice and took our order he just seemed a bit slow, nervous, not sure if he just started, plus the place was kinda of empty(it was 3pm) so I understand it is not a peak time. I will try and check this place out on a Friday or Saturday night, and see if I can get that Rocking experience. The food! Wife had the Grilled Shrimp Po boy, she liked the bread and dressing and ofcourse the grilled seasoned shrimp, she said it was better than previous place we ate at in Florida. I had the Country Bumpkin,(I think that’s what it’s called) French bread, chopped steak, Swiss cheese, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, totally yummy, the sides, the wife had the Mac n Cheese(this was for our 4yr old she completely devoured it and said, this is yummy daddy) I had the house fries, and sorry to say they did not live to expectations, I was expecting hot chips and crunchy, what I got unfortunately was warm, chewy chips, so this took away from my experience. My 8yr old had the kids corn dog, at first he kinda looked at the plate like Where’s my Corndog? He was expecting to see what you see everywhere else. Corndog on a stick, not so here it seems they have their own version of it, and it is not bad, once my son dug into them, he said they were good and huge portion. So all and all not bad, will be back next time, minus the kids, get some suds and soak in some tunes.

While Little Elm is far outside my usual driving radius, everyone once and a while I’ll make my way up to the Great Northern ‘Burbs. My good buddy Nick’s band, Suburban Dilemma, plays here from time to time and I finally stopped in for a visit. The staff here is friendly and checked on us frequently. We came to see the band and the sound here is great. There’s plenty of space to spread out and enjoy a meal while enjoying the band. While Rock 101 may be «bar food» it’s pretty good. I have the blackened chicken which was nice and juicy along with some really great Mac n Cheese. Prices are reasonable and the crowd was fun. Sometimes it’s nice to get out to the ‘burbs!
