This is what barbecue is. It’s not fancy(food is served on a piece of wax paper). They sell it by the half pound. The flavor was fabulous. I preferred the moist brisket, but that just means higher fat content. Get the lean brisket if you like to avoid the fat. The sausage and pulled pork were also excellent. Sides were very good. This is a gas station also, but it’s clear that the barbecue is the real show here. This is everything it should be, fabulous barbecue, with tables, chairs and napkins. Not much else needed

Great surroundings, great food, great staff. Real home town BBQ. We were first time visitors and they gave us all free samples to tray what we liked.

The breakfast tacos! .gosh. I went by the suggestion of the lady in the drive through and went with the brisket, egg & cheese and added potato and I’m really glad I listened! It was excellent and the hot sauce they make is stellar! Just enough kick! Next time I’m craving breakfast tacos I’ll skip Whataburger and head here.

My wife and I love Rudy’s! Gotta be some of the best bbq we’ve had here in Texas. Whenever we have family in town we take them here at least once… maybe twice. Highly recommend their lean brisket.

On a trip to Dallas, we were looking for great BBQ. We looked online and found Hucthins, but they were not open. Rudy’s was our second choice, AND a gift from BBQ heavens. I love that the place for a lot of reasons: * It is a functioning GASSTATION, to start with prices under $ 2. * The welcome was instant and warm. * They are so sure of themselves that they let you taste test. * They had adult beverages. * The food was(Brisket, Ribs, Turkey, potato salad and bean salad) great. * On Monday night it was quiet. I didn’t really enjoy the sauce, but the food was so good that it was still great without it. I experienced some not so good BBQ in Dallas, and I am so glad I had my Rudy’s moment. My recommendation: Don’t miss it.

Pretty solid BBQ, one of the better ones on the list, would say top 5. We had jalepeno sausage, brisket and pork ribs. The brisket was very moist, probably the best thing there. Pork ribs and jalepeno sausage were good too! Their regular BBQ sauce has a good spice kick in it which is great for being a «house» BBQ sauce. Tater salad was absolutely delicious, very mustardy than others. This place is very clean and large.

Why would anyone eat here when there’s Hutchins?! I was always brought up never to eat food from a gas station, but I had a gift card here. My wife and I ordered some ribs, brisket, creamed corn, and some other side I can’t remember. The ribs were HORRENDOUS. It was as if someone just dumped a ton of pepper on them and called them good. We threw them out. The brisket were edible, but super fatty. It was really mostly fat. The corn was ehh, but how do you mess corn up? So gross. Sooooooo gross. Gross. Gross. Gross.

I love Rudy’s. I love it so much that we had it catered for our wedding reception. *mostly everyone was from out of town and we wanted them to try good TXBBQ, we LOVE the moist brisket here! Okay, so for my visit today, we got gas for $ 1.89/gallon for regular, which was cheaper than gas in our neighborhood and got three breakfast tacos. I ordered two brisket and one jalapeño sausage. The drive thru lane is always long in the morning but if you go inside, there’s not a wait. They have one person working the drive thru, one working the counter, a person heating up tortillas and two prepping the tacos. They were really quick on getting me tacos. The tacos are nice and hot still because they wrap it in foil. I inhaled the brisket taco. The jalapeño sausage had a little spice to it. There’s a variety of breakfast tacos, even ones for vegetarians! If you want fresh, hot breakfast tacos, you can’t go wrong with Rudy’s. The staff has always been nice here. Even one of the managers came to say hi to us because he remembered catering our wedding – months after the fact. Brisket moist is a must. I also love their sausages. Jokes aside, their delicious! I always get their potato salad– it had the right amount of creaminess and combo to mustard to mayo. I also like their beans because it has the BBQ flavor in it… they’re not just pinto beans. Side note: if you keep their cups and bring them back on your next visit, the refill will only be $ 1 so you don’t have to pay for the whole drink price! Use the extra cash you saved on the banana pudding. Um, why not?! You deserve it for saving money!

I was told if I came to Texas I needed to eat at Rudy’s BBQ. So here we came… LOCATION/PARKING: It is located in a gas station. It has its’ own entrance, but still. it is connected to a gas station. Haha. From what I hear, most if not all, Rudy’s are this way. It definitely is unique. However, when you walk in you feel like you are in a restaurant and no where near a gas station… or at least not connected to one. This location has a decent sized parking lot on all sides of the building. WAIT/ORDERING: You get in line and then order your food at the cashier. If you want any cold sides or cold desserts that is located in a refrigerator next to the line. You order your meat, warm sides and warm desserts at the register. Then you wait for your food to be given to you and you go pick a table. It was a relatively quick process. It was dinner time on a Saturday night and it was pretty crowded, but still quick! CUSTOMERSERVICE: The employees helping us were very friendly and helpful. The guy by the entrance of the line was very nice and brought us out samples. FOOD: I’m not a huge BBQ person, but it was pretty good. I tried a few different kinds of meats and sides and they were good. My favorite item is probably the peach cobbler… yummy! All it needed was some ice cream.

Awesome brisket! The Jalapeño sausages are spicy but not too spicy not to eat. The Sause is excellent and the service is quick. Get a cold beer while in line and don’t forget the banana pudding!

So, I am completely shocked by the negative reviews, but… to each its own. I think Rudy’s is awesome and so is their service! 5 stars all the way… Came here with family from Oklahoma that live in Frisco. They believe Texas knows nothing about BBQ and Oklahoma has Texas beat in the BBQ game. Well, Oklahoma does have great BBQ but man, oh, man… so does Rudy’s in good ol Texas… and they agreed! Honey, let me tell you… We walked up to the counter unsure of what to order, right? We kind of apologized for our slowness and mentioned to Kyle, who was taking our order, that it was our first time. After learning that, he turned around, said something to his crew and next thing we know we’re trying samples of brisket, turkey, ribs, and other beefy goodness. Wow! He went out of his way to make sure our first visit was swell, and we ordered EVERYTHING we sampled and more. Needless to say, he invested in us well ha. He was also very patient. Thank you, Kyle! The BBQ was so good, a bit pricey, but so good. I still can’t believe how yummy and moist the Rosemary turkey was! Yes, I’m raving about turkey at a BBQ joint! Still boggles me. Oh! And If your grandma lives far and you miss her peach cobbler… ummm, they’ve got it, and it tastes just right. Sorry not sorry, Grams. They also have banana pudding, pumpkin pie and mini tubs of homemade ice cream. She’s got some competition. Let me know how delish those options are. Seating is your pick and is family style with many picnic tables. Like you would at a park, clean up after your self for the next diner(s). Their sauces weren’t anything spectacular, but I used a little of the sissy one. I’ll be back with folks and if I remember to check in, then you’ll know it. Cheers!

Don’t be fooled by the gas station; this place is delish! I’ve had their breakfast tacos and their BBQ. Fairly standard but delicious selection of breakfast tacos at typical prices. An excellent and convenient choice if you’re craving them on a weekend morning. The BBQ is also seriously good. I tried the moist brisket(not too fatty, just juicy), the ribs, and the sausage. All were flavorful. The sauce is tangy with a slight spicy kick. The potato salad was worth every calorie and tasted fresh. But for me, the big shocker was how good the baked beans were. I never would have ordered them myself, but hubs brought home an order and I couldn’t stop eating them. Not the healthiest option for a side, but ohhh so delicious, with little pieces of meat surprising you in every bite. Yummy.

We’ve been to several Rudy’s locations, mainly those in Austin and one in Waco. Given that I didn’t see much of a difference at this Frisco location, I still feel like this place gets four stars for their consistency in food! Our favorites include the moist brisket, jalapeño sausage, and brisket baked potato. This location in particular has been so convenient for times when we’ve had to pick up food in a hurry so the drive-thru option is awesome.

Amazing value and wonderfully tasting BBQ. Love the simplicity of what’s on offer here in this casual atmosphere. Choose your BBQ meats, watch them pile up in your crate, rip off some wax paper and get stuck in at the table! I enjoyed some meaty spicy jalapeño sausage, some melt in the mouth moist brisket, some pulled pork and some perfectly spiced and smoked baby back ribs. Left thoroughly satisfied and keen for another visit sometime! Highly recommended.

Fast service and great food in a casual atmosphere. I got there around 11AM for lunch so I assume that had something to do with the fast service. I sampled the brisket and that was all I needed. It was full of flavor and very tender. I ordered the brisket sandwich and the creamed corn and slaw as sides. The brisket sandwich was great and had plenty of brisket. About half fell out while I was eating it so I was able to enjoy it on its own after the sandwich was done. Maybe because of the time I was there the brisket cuts I got had plenty of the full flavor burnt ends which made me happy :) The slaw was ok and the creamed corn was really good. The only negative was their fountain drink selection. No big name brands other than Dr Pepper which I don’t care for. Really??? no Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, etc. Their BBQ sauces were really good as well. If you want a mild bite their regular is the way to go. If you prefer no bite then go with the sissy style. I tried both and they were both and I would enjoy either on the sandwich. Will I go again next time I’m in Frisco? Definitely.

Great bbq, always a treat to visit. I always order the sliced brisket lean, and ask for extra burnt ends. Smokey & flavorful. My fiancée loves the beans & the breakfast tacos are amazing. The plain white slices of bread, while simple, are awesome and soft, the really good Sunbeam brand bread. I only have a few gripes, eating in is an interesting experience, they give you your food in a bread crate without any plates, baskets, anything. They just sit everything on some wax paper. If you like to eat your food with a fork & knife, you have to be careful not to cut through the paper all the way to the table. I can’t say Rudy’s isn’t alone in odd ordering/serving practices, I don’t understand why BBQ& dive-style places have to make the ordering and/or food delivery process some weird experiment in «what is the most inconvenient way we can serve food?» Another minor complaint is that the bottles of BBQ sauce are kind of gross & sticky, it looks like the nozzle & bottles are never cleaned or even just wiped off. Other than that, it’s a great place and has a cool, country atmosphere. If you try nothing else, at least try the breakfast tacos! :)

The best BBQ in a gas station! Yes, there are multiple locations of Rudy’s but for this one being a gas station, it is really good. There is plenty of parking and a drive-thru, which can get long sometimes. The indie line can be long as well, but they both move pretty fast. The beauty of BBQ is that the food is already cooked! The moist brisket is my favorite here and on the weekends, they offer prime rib and tenderloin. If you haven’t been there before, they let you sample whatever you want. Once you get your food, it is off to one of their indoor, or partially covers outdoor tables. The drinks, sauces, peppers, etc. are all at a station and you will want it all! They have 2 sauces, their regular and a «sissy» sauce, which is not as bold or spicy. This is our go-to close BBQ place.

This one is tough for me. I love BBQ and I enjoy Rudys. In my opinion, they have some of the best smoked turkey in the Dallas area. This morning, I went through their drive thru for breakfast tacos and sadly, they fell short. I will say that the brisket tacos were better than the bacon tacos, but still, it’s not saying much. The tortillas taste like they are straight out of a Tia Rosa plastic bag. Come on now, this is Texas, we have fresh made tortillas everywhere that you could have delivered each morning. The scrambled eggs were dry, the bacon was minced… kinda gross… I couldn’t finish it. The cheese was a sprinkling of garnish. I could go on, but I feel badly for them at this point. Disappointment Island… They were quite efficient in the drive thru and I got my order lickety-split. If they could just provide a better breakfast taco in that time manner, it would be magical. Moral of the story, skip breakfast. Go for lunch or dinner.

This is a chain but the smell that hits you in the parking lot lets you know this BBQ is serious business. The staff were extremely pleasant and offered us samples. Take advantage of this if you have the time. We changed our orders and it encouraged us to move out of our usual comfort zone. Highly recommend the jalapeño sausage, and the smoked turkey. Both items that you may see on other menus but were flavorful beyond your everyday expectations. Moist brisket was very tasty. Sides were standard for a chain. After sampling the turkey my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. He said it was one of the best sandwiches he ever ordered. Tons of food, reasonable prices, the gas station front threw this Yankee off balance but the food delivered a solid dining experience.
