We’ve been coming here regularly for over a year. This is our go to Tex Mex in Frisco. It’s nearly always a very good experience. Food is consistently very good too. We generally only visit during the week or a late weekend lunch. We prefer not to wait in the long lines for a weekend dinner. The kids love the black bean dip and the adults love the salsa. While everything we’ve had is good, we keep going back to the fajita nachos(half chicken, half beef is our favorite), the Rene plate, Fajita burrito(it’s big), sour cream enchiladas, and the Pollo de la Casa — my wife’s fav on the menu. Our favorite waitress is Chelle and the manager, Rene, always makes a point to stop by our table to say hi and see if all is ok. We’ve shown up with groups of multiple families and their mostly 4 person tables are easily managed to accommodate us every time. They pay attention to detail — keeping our glasses filled, chips and dips full, and margaritas when we want them. They also do take away for times when the wait for a table is too long. All said, it’s why we keep coming back here week after week.

Hubs and I like to eat here when we’re in the mood for Mexican. The food is always good, in my opinion, and we’ve never had a serious complaint about service. The place needs to make money, for sure, but seating borders on cafeteria style — it feels like there’s not enough privacy with the way the seating is arranged. Also, we’ve never had to wait to be seated, but if we did, I don’t think I could handle it. There is no place to wait where you are not in the way of the door, workers or diners.

Great food and Great service. Probably 15 tables were occupied when we came in, and we were seated immediately on a Monday at 6:30. My drink never got to the bottom bc our waitress Araceli was on top of it! We received the complimentary bean dip and salsa with chips, but we ordered white queso too.(Mixed the bean dip and the queso… yum!) I ordered fajita nachos, my partner ordered beef tacos. We both enjoyed our meals. They were delivered quickly upon ordering and there was no waiting once we requested the check. I would suggest this place to others!

We have always loved Salsa and come here often. This visit was the worst we’ve ever had. Our server was Madeline, and she was nonexistent when we needed her. We had to flag her down to get drink refills. Also, my daughter’s chicken was raw, but we had to wait forever to send it back because our server was nowhere to be found. I had the chicken fajita salad, and the chicken was so dry I could hardly swallow. Something has definitely changed. I do hope they get it corrected!

Food was good and our server was very nice. The service was slow, however. I think this was more due to not enough staff than our server herself. Food was slow to come out of the kitchen as well. It was fairly crowded. We did enjoy our food and everything tasted fresh. We will come here again and see if the service is a little faster next time.

Great service here. Bar is small but friendly. Patio Rocks!!! Mango margaritas and surf n turf dish here are outstanding. They also do simple food well like fish or shrimp tacos. So glad i live closeby this place is a staple.

Good food, lackluster service. We dine here often and have always enjoyed the food. The wait staff needs to improve as service is usually slow to start out and then less attentive as the meal continues. Wait staff rarely come by the tables after food has been ordered, unless its a party of 4 or more. Last night, for example, the only time our server come to the table without being asked over was when drinks or food was being served. We had to ask several times, of managers, our server, and chip servers, to get additional salsa, chips or drinks after our order was placed. Attentive servers should spot these needs w/o being asked.

Very ordinary experience. Bland chips. Bland food. Slow service, although friendly. Not impressed with first, and possibly only, experience. Meh.

One of the best services from the waiters to the Manager Rene. He always come by and says hello to us and other tables and ask how is the food, drinks and service. The servers are always alert and attentive. The Margaritas are really good, such as the house & jalapeño margarita. The food is also really good! It taste fresh and and not over done. My favorite is the Cocktail Shrimp, it’s just the right amount spicy and loaded with sliced avocados and they are not greedy with the shrimp either, which many places are. They recently redid the whole patio and added a covered roof and more patio seating which is great for anybody who like’s to dine outside like me. They also added electrical heaters and the whole patio is covered when chilly outside. Oh and the black bean dip is addicting!

This is our preferred Tex-Mex place to eat in the area. The food is fresh and the margaritas are to die for! I usually go for on the rocks Ritas, BUT their frozen house recipe is superior. They also have great salsas and a wide variety of entrees to choose from. I usually get Shrimp Fajitas, but the Shrimp Diablo, and Chile Rellenos are awesome as well. I recommend you go on a weekday, it is SWAMPED on weekends, and can take away from the great experience. Ask for Alejandro(‘the older one’ if they ask), he is the best server!!! We actually OPT to wait for a booth in his section whenever we go. Definitely check it out! YUM

Used to come here all the time… no more. My wife got through about 25% of her meal and had to stop because the grease was just pooling in the plate. We got the waiter and he had a stupid look on his face like he did not understand us and said he would get the manager. Manager came over and talked to my wife and was holding her plate trying to tell her how they made it and tilted the plate and started pouring the grease into my plate. I was still eating until he did that. He took the plate away and then the brought our to-go box for my sons food and the bill. The full $ 12.99 for her dinner was still on the bill. They did not bring her another plate or even offer to take it off the bill. We called the waiter over and he argued that she ate most of it and her rice.(FYI, she ordered the beans instead of the rice and never got her beans, did not say anything because she did not want to complain.) He said the manager decided to charge her for the meal. He argued with us until I told him we were done, to go get the manager. A younger manager shows up this time.(Apparently the first one did not have enough backbone to stand up to his own decision.) We told this manager what happened and my wife looks over and the waiter and other manager were with all the other staff talking about us as they are all looking at us. The other manager took the price of her meal off the ticket and we paid and left. He said that he would talk to the waiter and that he had received several complaints about him last week. If you get that many complaints then you have talked enough and he needs to be looking for another job. Not sure we will be going there again and that is a shame since it is close to home. Make sure you check out the photo posted with this review it shows the grease, and if she«ate over half the meal» the other reviews on here would be raving about how big the portions are.

OK, I’m not sure why I took so long to update my favorite place, so here it is! Hands down this is our favorite place around! Salsa’s has become our Cheers! The bartenders bring us our meltdowns as soon as we sit down at the bar. It gets packed especially on Fridays and Saturdays, so depending on when you arrive you should expect a wait. They recently upgraded the patio by closing it in and adding heaters. We haven’t sat out there when it’s cold but we love hanging out when the weather is nice. We’ve sampled almost everything on the menu. The food is consistently good and the prices are reasonable. Our favorite dish is the Camarones de la Casa. Very very good! If you like margaritas then you should definitely check out the meltdowns! They have ruined us for just about every place else in DFW. They are strong and delicious!

This has become my go to Tex-Mex joint in Frisco. Is it the most exciting? Not really. Do they have the most diverse menu with food and drinks? Maybe no. But they are solid in the things that are important to my family and me. Even on busy Friday or Saturday nights the wait has never been longer than 15 minutes. The prices are fair and the menu does include classic items such as fajitas, enchiladas, taco etc. and they do them well. Drinks aren’t bad either with good tasting margaritas and the happy hour prices are reasonable. What really keeps us coming back, aside from the fact that it’s only a 5 minute trip from our home, is the service has always been top notch. They’re quick, responsive, and always spend a few minutes entertaining our 2 year old.

Salsa is turning into our go-to Mexican spot in Frisco. They prepare the take out quickly and they handle take out orders efficient without errors. The Brisket Enchiladas are great! They are spicy and the Brisket is tender and delicious. The Pollo con Hongas is also surprising simple and delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the peppers were bright and delicious, and the rice and beans were a perfect compliment. The real star for me though is the chips and black bean dip. Holy cow!!! I could eat those every day! Salsa is turning into our new, «What are we having tonight? I don’t know! Lets go to Salsa’s!!!» I haven’t eaten in yet so I can’t rate the service dining in however, if you need take out, and are sick of disgusting fast food… Salsa is a great place at a great price!!!

My new go-to Tex Mex restaurant in Frisco. They prepare food fast! I’ve only ordered to go so I can’t speak much for the service. But the bartenders I’ve dealt with when I order to go have been friendly. They’ve taken my orders quickly, even while they were busy with happy hour patrons… And it gets busy! The chips and bean dip are great! The salsa is good too. I’ve tried the brisket enchiladas brisket chimichanga, chicken chimichanga, chicken quesadillas, and Pollo con Hongos. My only complaint is the brisket was a bit salty in the enchilada and chimichanga but still edible. The other dishes had were flavored well. Everything was cooked perfectly which surprised me because the food came out extremely fast. I can’t wait to try more dishes.

Been here many times, location is usually busy and that’s a good sign. Week long happy hours(except for fri and sat I think) means great deals on margaritas. Really like their bean dip, their dishes are pretty standard(fajitas are good as is the burrito, the chimichanga is meh). Not great deserts, their tres leches cake left a lot to be desired. But overall very reasonable prices, good salsa and bean dip, would return!

This was my first time coming here. I have heard both good and bad things about this place so I thought i would give it a shot. They do give you free salsa and bean dip. I enjoyed the salsa buy wasn’t a fan of the bean dip(not a fan in general) Ordered cheese enchiladas with fajita while they were good and the food was delicious I felt as if the service was lacking, I had to ask for a refill after my drink was completely empty. I will give it another try to see if it was just a one time deal.

Super family friendly Mexican restaurant! Before the child, my husband and I used to love getting dressed up on the weekends, go to trendy Mexican restaurants, and wait an hour for a table while sipping Mexican Martinis. Times have changed, friends. We chose this place because of quick seating, large portions, good food, and if my kid freaks out– who cares? There’s probably 6 or 7 other kids freaking out at the same time. We’ll fit right in. So in conclusion– quick service, fast seating(we went on a Friday night, it was busy but there were still a few tables open for us to slip in), good food, it’s kinda ok to not be on your best behavior here, and it’s not trendy(which can be a plus depending on how much time you have to groom).
