I’ve eaten here occasionally — the last time for my birthday with 6 friends. We all enjoyed our meal and service was great. Not sure why I see lower ratings — I don’t have any complaints.

Husband and I are new to Frisco. We thought we’d try this out before our movie on Saturday night. Unfortunately we were not very impressed. I had tacos and my husband had enchiladas. The restaurant was nice and service was great. Just not happy with the food.

The food was decent but the service sucks! We sat in the patio and had to go inside every single time we needed something. From a coke to our check! Terrible service. One time try.

We went on a Sunday night we were greeted at door. We sat outside and no one came out to greet us. After 5 minutes someone brought us out chips and salsa. We started eating them and no one else came by to take drink order or water. The chip boy was walking by our table again so he stopped him. That was no help because he didn’t speak English. We sat there for another 10 minutes with our mouths on fire from the salsa with nothing to drink. We got up and went somewhere else.

This is the go to for Tex mex food. The people are great and they make some mean drinks here.

Had to go to bar to get our own drinks and ask for a waitperson after waiting 8 – 10 minutes for a server. Chips and hot sauce guy was only person we saw. Food was cheap tasting and disappointing. Other than the appeal of the patio seating will not be back.

Came here at 7:00 on a Tuesday. It was not busy at all but it took a while to be seated. The hostess seemed either extremely bored, out of touch with reality, or on pills maybe. Once we were seated the the waitress arrived and handed me a dirty menu. The two other people who were with me didn’t have quite as dirty menus but mine was actually gross and sticky. I ordered a «Martin» combo plate, my wife ordered the jumbo shrimp with a crema sauce, and the other person with us ordered cheese enchiladas. My taco shell had a very odd texture. It is hard to explain other than it was not good. The rest of the components of the Martin were just okay. I ate the enchilada and only sampled the rest. The seasoning on the jumbo shrimp and the dipping sauce was good but the shrimp were way over done. I would have given one star but the waitress was nice. Overall I can not recommend and would not return.

Awful!!! Came in for a drink before a concert and I’m pretty sure that no one can make drinks there. They could pour beers. But you are SOL if u want liquor. After waiting 10 minutes to place our drink order, the«bartender» opened a few beers but never made our drink. We left.

I love the salsa and chips!!! Enjoyed the remainder of Edgefest 2016 on the patio :) The chicken nachos were very tasty and filling. The service wasn’t the fastest but there were a lot of people in the area.

So we went to this place on Saturday afternoon thinking would get some Tex-mex and this place would have great food. I was unfortunately mistaken the chips and salsa were mediocre at best, we then ordered a guacamole that was quite bland. Our wait time was quite substantial and it didn’t even seem as the place was that full. I had ordered a tortilla soup, it was so thick and goopy it was less than satisfying. I ate about half of it my husband got brisket tacos that were without much flavor. All around it was a quite unfortunate experience. We definitely won’t be eating here again.

Went for brunch because of the unlimited mimosas. We did go pretty late so a lot of the selections were not being refreshed or were pretty picked over. They did have an omelet station and a waffle station, but no one there to work them. I tried to ask someone, but was dismissed so I just grabbed some buffet scrambled eggs and some other pretty bland Mexican stuff. I wouldn’t come back here for brunch.

Since my prior review, they have reached out to make the situation right. For now, I’m leaving 4 stars for management attention to problems, and I will write another full review once I’ve had a chance to visit them again.

Holy guacamole!!!(I’ve been dying to say that) The brunch here is extensive! I am talking a massive spread of food it is impossible to get to try everything. I’ve been here on several occasions for the Sunday brunch and always leave so full I make ridiculous promises to myself to never do that again. Oh and most importantly bottomless mimosas! Although I never have room for more than 2… I think the cost for buffet is $ 15pp? I don’t recall, but I know I thought it was reasonable. There is usually a wait. And it is usually crowded. But the breakfast buffet, quesadilla bar and the omelet bar are legit. Oh and there is usually a chocolate fondue fountain with assortments of fruit. Cool huh? I have never been let down by the service, fairly standard. Restaurant is typical tex mex décor. Good location to stoll around afterwards or see a cinema.

We came on a busy Sunday afternoon. We only had a party of 4, but had to wait 10 minutes. That is OK, because we were able to get a patio seating. The decorations inside are that of your quintessential Tex-Mex restaurant. It is an eclectic mix of old and new décor to make it seem authentic«Old Mexico». We started our meal off with an item that is not listed on the menu. We had the Bob Armstrong dip named after former Texas Land Commissioner Bob Armstrong. The dip is layered with chile con queso, seasoned ground beef, guacamole and a dollop of sour cream, all arranged in a bowl. It is served alongside a bowl of tortilla chips, but I recommend a side of flour tortillas for dipping and rolling purposes. It comes in two sizes, small and large. Get the large. It goes very quickly. Now, our server did not bring silverware or napkins. My son had to get up, go inside, and ask the hostess for napkins for our mess we were making with the queso. I had a glass of Sangria, but I think the server misunderstood and gave me a margarita on the rocks with a splash of Sangria. It was awful! I am not a complainer, but I had to send it back. I couldn’t drink it. I ordered the chicken enchiladas. I will try to explain the best chicken enchiladas in DFW. The chicken filling is a mixture of tender chicken and rojo sauce wrapped is a soft corn tortilla. The sour cream sauce is a creamy, tangy, delicious topping to the perfect enchilada. To sum it up the food is outstanding, the service is so, so.

I’ve been going to Mattito’s for years. I used to frequent the uptown Dallas location which is still my favorite, but this one is nice too. Plenty of free parking in the lot next to Jake’s Burgers and a decent sized patio for pretty weather days with a view of Toyota Stadium. It’s within walking distance so a good option if you have tickets for an event there. The secret is to stick with drinks and snacks only and you will be golden. We came for dinner once and didn’t feel the prices matched the quality of the food. They make really good margaritas though and we like their chips a lot too. I also like ordering the Baja chicken appetizer to share. It’s skewered pieces of bacon wrapped chicken stuffed with lots of Monterey jack cheese and jalapeño slivers served with sides of ranch and cayenne sauces for dipping. Sinful and yummy. If you want to venture into entrees, they have a few vegetarian dishes and serve breakfast all day too with items such as breakfast tacos and chilaquiles. The lunch specials look reasonable with most plates being under $ 10 but it’s only Monday-Friday from 11 – 3. Uptown does a Sunday brunch buffet with mimosas and a ton of different food stations. I haven’t gone for it myself, but my friend used to regularly and raved about how awesome it was. What I am interested in is checking out their happy hour sometime. They give out free snacks during it and have really inexpensive drink specials. I didn’t get a chance to do this when we lived in Frisco because it’s only on weekdays and ends at 6. Working in downtown Plano didn’t give me enough time to make it by then but one day I will!

My wife and I have tried to make this Mattito’s work for the last year, but we give up. The food has always been less than par. I own and use several of the Matt’s cookbooks which are the same recipes and these guys are obviously taking short cuts that make taco bell look like a better choice. Tonight my wife ordered a salad that listed several ingredients one of which was a corn salsa. It didn’t come with the salsa and when I asked where it was the manager stepped in and informed me that the ingredient was no longer on the menu. I showed him both online and on print that it was in fact on the menu. His poor attempt of a reply was that both menus were out of date. The waitress would later admit they were simply out of the corn salsa. She then asked if I would like a replacement for the corn and so I asked for some grilled vegetables. They then charged me for the vegetables? This isn’t about the charge, but rather the continued poor service and less than par food. Frisco has better choices and if you read other reviews from here you will see a very long list of poor reviews. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Of all the Tex-Mex restaurants, this has been, by far, the worst in everyway possible. My roommate and I have recently moved to the neighborhood and were in search of some nearby mexican. Becasue Mattios was so close by and NOT a fast food joint, we thought we’d go ahead and give it a shot! When we arrived we were quickly greeted and seated, outside on the patio.(A thank you to the hostess, who did her part well!) Anyway, after about fifteen minutes, we realized no one had come to our table to talk«specials», or take our drink and appetizer order. My roommate decided to go in and at least grab us some water while we continued to wait. Mind you, it was a hot evening… After about another ten minutes, still no server, but a bus girl came by and we quickly asked if she could find our server. A few minutes later, someone, whom we assumed was waiter, or perhaps a manager came by and we stopped him and asked if he was our server or would at least get someone to take our order as we had been waiting for nearly half an hour, retrieved our own water, and never once acknowledged. Thankfully, he stepped up, took our order and quickly served us and offered us exceptional service the rest of the evening. Unfortunately, the punches just kept coming, regardless of the nice man who stepped in to do someone elses job. Once we recieved our food, we were disappointed. We ordered queso for the chips, which tasted like store bought velveeta and heated in the microwave. My roommate got the tortilla soup, which was SO bad she couldn’t even eat it. I got the chicken enchiladas that tasted like a frozen banquet dinner from the grocery store, and«just add water» packaged enchilada sauce. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back again nor recommending this place to anyone. Thank you to the nice server who stepped up, the poor bus girl who tried to get us help and the hostess who greeted and seated us quickly. But when there is breaks in the system that need to be fixed badly, it’s not enough to bring anyone back. Best of luck to this restaurant. We’re off to explore greener pastures.

Four words. The food is crap. Chips — stale Salsa — flavorless Queso — tasted like concession stand nacho sauce Entrée-Pollo Con Crema-Unseasoned chicken covered in some type of sour cream with cilantro. Sides-unseasoned, almost tasted like they were freezer burned. I feel sorry for the wait staff. There were several tables complaining about the food, but the management refused to appear. We left a large tip for our waitress after we sent all our food back to the kitchen. Was it a bad night? Who knows. We’ll never be back to find out…

I have friends who just LOVE this place so we gave it a try during happy hour with them. The patio is really nice for Frisco since it’s not in a strip mall. Happy hour has a cool deal where there’s basically a cart full of little Tex Mex apps(flautas, chips & queso, brisket quesadillas) that you can eat off of while you have your happy hour-priced drinks. Perfect if you’ve got a toddler to feed and wanna get yo’ marg on without having to pay for a kids meal. The food from the cart was aight. I’m pretty sure the flautas were just the bean kind which was fine but nothing special. Queso got weird and congealed if it sat out too long. I had a regular margarita and one of their special crazy blue ones. Price was good and drinks were tasty. Crazy blue marg was surprisingly good. I’d drink it again. Ordered the tamale app as my entrée. Tamales were nothing special. They were by no means bad, but honestly, the ones they sell at Kroger near Thanksgiving/Xmas are probably better. I’d come back for the happy hour deal and drinks on the patio or to try the brunch, but this wouldn’t be my first pick for dinner.
