On a VA wine tour, there is no worse way to ruin a trip than by eating at a McDonalds or Burger King along the main business strip in Front Royal. Yuck. We, instead, headed for main street, where we were told we could find more locally owned places for lunch while on the way to the next vineyard. My friends and I, however, didn’t make it there since we saw the County Seat and decided to stop there instead. The sign advertising«great Belgium Beer’ and a pork sandwich special were enough to get us inside. There were a few tables, shelves of marmalades, teas, and of course, Belgium Beer, in addition to a really cute menu sandwiches, soups, cheesecakes, quiche, etc. My boyfriend and I each ordered the vegetarian sandwich(mozzarella and veggies on homemade bread with a really nice lemongrass vinaigrette) and our friends order the pork sandwich and a chicken sandwich. We also picked up a large bottle of Chimay beer to drink back home. The people were very friendly and help the bf pick out some jams to take on a trip with him overseas as gifts. The quiche we split was lovely. Good prices and good people. Take the food to go and eat it while enjoying a nice wine at a local vineyard!
