This place is terrific! I can hardly believe the Luke warm reviews of others. The room was clean, tidy, and modern. More important the staff — — from the check-in, to the breakfast to the cleaning crew was warm friendly and welcoming. Most amazing was the breakfast. The best we have had been one long week of traveling.

Not exactly the place I would have stayed had I known. It is old and needs major improvements. The walls are thin and other guests can be heard through walls. Much less the fact that we were put in a room on the second floor at the opposite end from the elevator and my parents both have trouble walking. I thought my father was not going to make it from the elevator to the room and that was without all his luggage. Nice little town fir such a run down place located just outside Shenandoah National Park. I would not suggest this to anyone.

Dirty, towels had stains and marks on them. Old dated smelly room. Learned my lesson with cheap hotels. Honestly I would give it 0 stars if I could. Bed seemed super old.

An inexpensive hotel in Front Royal right near the start of the Skyline Drive of shenandoah National Park. A little dingier than most but not too bad and inexpensive. The carpets were very worn and old and the paint on the walls could use some touching up but otherwise it was clean and servicable.

Worst hotel i have experienced. The place is filthy and worn out. The wifi keeps on deconnecting. The breakfast is horrible, total crap. Avoid this place!

We were looking for an inexpensive, easy place to stay for one night before setting off through Shenandoah National Park and this place worked out fine. The rooms were clean, comfortable, recently renovated and the staff was very nice. The motel is right near the start of Main Street where there was a good variety of restaurants and such. The only thing I was not crazy about was that the rooms seemed a little isolated behind the office building and there were signs everywhere warning about not being responsible for theft in cars. The room’s flimsy door opened right onto the parking lot and you could see light coming in from all around the door. The area seemed fine but I am not sure I’d feel comfortable staying there if I were traveling alone.

When I see reviews like the other one I really have to wonder if a manager of the place or its owner is doing the review. I stayed here for a week a while back and couldn’t wait to get done with my training. I did give it 2 stars as the room itself wasn’t bad. It had been remodeled not too long ago so it was acceptable. The overall hotel had a very old and rundown feeling. The advertised free breakfast was one of the worse you can find in a hotel. We had to eat out every morning for the week. The free wifi was just as bad. I’ve never had any problem using the wifi in any hotel I’ve ever been in but I could not get a signal the entire week. Letting management know did no good. One friend could get a signal in his room but no one else could. This is not a hotel I’d stay in again.

This place is so close to a five star review that I can taste it. My favorite place to stay near Front Royal/Winchester. It’s clean, convenient, walking distance to downtown and several restaurants, has a pool, exterior corridors(a negative to some, but a big plus to me), and a large picnic area complete with grills(gas and charcoal) for guest use, with a view of the surrounding mountains. What’s not to love? And the rates – by far the best for a motel of this caliber in town. Rooms, even during peak season(summer and fall), are less than $ 100, which cannot be said about the Comfort Inn in Warrenton, which as nice as the place is, can be more expensive than a night in a hotel in DC. I attribute that to the lack of other motels in Warrenton(only two others of note there – Holiday Inn Express and a newly remodeled Hampton Inn, both also have rooms over $ 100). The other motels in Warrenton – Rip Van Winkle, the HOJO, Jefferson Lodge — don’t go there Neil. My only complaint about the Q Inn in Front Royal is twice I’ve stayed there for two nights in a row, and they didn’t make up my room. Huh? Isn’t that one of the perks of staying in a motel? It’s not as if I trashed the room. Coming back after a long day out, you kind of expect to see a made-up room. I inquired about that, and the lady said«I must have lingered in your room too late, and the housekeeping staff went home for the day.» Is 11AM «too late?» Lingering? Um, I paid for a two night stay. This has not happened every time, but two times on two separate weekend getaways is worth mentioning. But that’s a minor quibble, as everything else this motel does, they do right. No restaurant or bar on the premises(the restaurant closed years ago), but there are several unusual spots in a five minute walking distance… Main Street Mill, Soul Mountain, and for breakfast, a diner that I can’t think of the name of, but very close to Main Street Mill.
