This isn’t a review, but a question. Where did you guys all go?! I don’t know if this location shut down and relocated somewhere else, or if they just completely shut down as in never-going-to-rise-again shut down, but I would really like to know. I had a FAVORITE sandwich from this place that I’d always get EVERYTIME I came here, and I’m pretty depressed to find out that it won’t be here anymore. If anyone can please give me any kind of information or clarification on their whereabouts, or non-whereabouts, it’d be a huge help!

Great place, but sadly last day was 10⁄21! Company looking for better location! Owners are kind and make a great pastrami, but location is a tough one!

My fist time here was fantastic! Food was great and employees were really sweet, even gave a chocolate on the way out. I highly recommend eating here.

There’s a lot of great things about this place, and then there’s the food. Let’s start with the place… It’s in a shop that reaches from the front to the back so it’s kind of like an alley(typical of many restaurants here in downtown Fullerton), but it sorta fits the theme so that’s cool. It’s near Wahoo’s and Starbucks inside the apartment complex area(by Citibank). There’s one bathroom that you’ll need a code to get into. The seating doesn’t really accommodate large groups very well, and it’s not super tiny but this place certainly is not spacious either. The menu is great, man, there are so many options it will make your head spin. It took me a few minutes to get a hang of how the menu was being arranged, so I guess to me I stood there for a little bit because I didn’t want to miss anything. I recommend maybe this place re-doing the menu so it’s a little easier to decide what one wants. I know it’s like a table but maybe change the colors or change where the pictures are… I don’t know, it was just a bit confusing. The people working there were super nice, and there’s a TV around if you want to watch something local. When the sandwiches came out, I opened my package and was a bit disappointed. Not very picture worthy. But that’s ok, better to taste these things anyway. Well, let’s just say… Eh. It tasted like it looked. It was a warm and tons of flavors, but it just didn’t hit the spot for me. Maybe I just picked the wrong sandwich. Damn menu. Maybe I’ll come back to try something different, but maybe I just have high expectations for a sandwich, cause it was nearly $ 7USD for just a 6-inch or half, so I can’t say that I really felt like my money was worth it. It was an extra dollar to get a soggy pickle… But they were nice and cut it in half so beau and I could share. …Meh. Unilocal average is accurate.

I really enjoy this place. Kinda on the expensive side. It’s around 10 bucks for a sandwhich with a combo. BUT you get a student discount if you show your ID, and its buy one get one half off after 3pm. I’ve only tried the Hampton Sandwich, and the Egg Salad sandwich, both which are delicious! And I love their cucumber salad side. Its a friendly little place, quick and delicious sandwich on the go.

Best sandwich place in town. I come here multiple times a week and they always treat me like family. The Deli Boy special is a great deal. A different sandwich each day and it comes with a drink and a side. Highly recommended!

My favorite spot for breakfast sandwiches. The owners are very nice and are always so happy to see their customers. The customer service is always great. I can only vouch for the breakfast sandwiches and praise vie amazing they are I’ve never had anything else on the menu but I love them I get the uptown one and Eastport one has pastrami and one sausage and egg. Excellent sandwiches remind me so much of New York.

Three stars is A-OK and that’s how I feel. I had classic pastrami. I agree it was good but never expected it to come on bread vs. a roll. I also used the Amazon local deal and glad I did. $ 10 for a sandwich, please. They have a buy one get one free after 3 pm. Buying full price is crazy. Will not be back. No wifi but the Starbucks next door came through as a strong signal.

Located in downtown Fullerton, specifically right across from a Bank of America. There is a parking structure(free) next door in case you need a place to park. I came here with a good friend of mine for lunch this past Tuesday. I have tried Gandolfo before, when they used to be in Pasadena(but closed a year or two ago). Now if you are a big sandwich person like myself, then you might like this place. Gandolfo has a lot of choices of sandwiches(both hot and cold) with different fillings(if you only want turkey or if you only want vegetable sandwiches, they have that. They also have pastrami, roast beef and so forth) so you will most likely find one that you will like. Anyways, after glancing at the menu, we ended up getting: Empire State, $ 6.49 prior to tax– Served on a regular sub sandwich(you can choose to have this on a different bread if you like), this hot sandwich was pretty filling. I have had this sandwich before and liked it and thought it tasted just as good. This sandwich has both chicken and turkey(why do I have to choose between the two when I can have both in my sandwich? Yay poultry protein!) with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, cream cheese and mayo. The chicken used is a breaded chicken and the turkey is sliced. Manhattan Transfer $ 6.89 prior to tax– Just like my sandwich, this sandwich is served on a regular sub sandwich and quite filling. I did not have any of my friend’s sandwich, although she did offer, since I was so full with my own. But she seemed to like it. 1 Pint of Broccoli Salad, $ 3.99 prior to tax) — Thought it would be nice to add some fiber to our lunch and so I opted for the broccoli salad. This salad reminds of the Joan’s broccoli madness salad that you can find at Souplantation. The broccoli florets used is raw and mixed in a white sweet dressing with added raisins and chopped nuts. I liked this salad and so did my friend(minus the raisins for her). We only had about half of the salad. Chocolate Cake– The huge chocolate slice of cake looked good in their display case so I decided to get it, lol. I love dessert but unfortunately I had no more room for it after my sandwich. But I did end up taking this home and ate it the next day, which was very moist and had a nice light creamy chocolate taste. — — — — — - (Total= $ 22 even, after tax) The employee who took my order at the register was very nice. But I was not given a receipt(but not a big deal). After I made my order, she told me that she would bring out our sandwiches to our table when they are ready. I was given the broccoli salad and slice of cake since it was already ready. Wait time for our sandwiches wasn’t too long. There is a handful of tables and chairs in this little eatery. If you want to use the restroom, you have to put in a code(7482). It is a unisex restroom and was clean(and stocked with the essentials). Overall, a great place to grab a sandwich. Wished they had WiFi though.

I purchased an Amazon Local deal. First timer for the place. It’s on the corner of Harbor and Chapman, and there is a convenient parking lot behind it. Service was friendly and quick. Place is clean. It’s about $ 10 for a 12-inch sandwich. The prices on the board are for 6-inch sandwiches, and it’s an extra $ 4 to make it a 12-inch. I ordered two 12-inch sandwiches, both came with plenty of meat(pastrami, italian meats). I think a 6-inch sandwich would be enough for a regular lunch meal. Sandwiches were heavy on the mustard and condiments, so I’d recommend asking for light sauces next time.

Tried this place once and was not disappointed. I happened to come on a Tuesday when they had a buy one get one free deal also which made me like the place even more. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as well. The only problem is that there is way too many choices to choose from! so you may have to stand back and think a little before choosing anything. I ordered the bridge Hampton with a drink and cheesecake(loved the cheese cake) which was quite satisfying, but next time I’m going to try the pastrami dog.

I had the traffic jam hot dog combo. Free WiFi if you are a paying customer. The parking sucks a bit. Super relaxed atmosphere with a vibe of new York.

Delicious! I can’t wait to go back. I got the Reuben. It was warm, a bit overpriced, but scrumptious and flavorful. It was fast service and great food. They have cool specials on Tuesdays and breakfast specials. It is clean, has a great environment feel, and I personally like the music.

How bad my experience was is me forgetting to leave a review months ago and just remembered. I came for a deli and received another Subways, except pricey. The Christian music turned me away as well. No disrespect but it needs to be toned down.

The hubby and I were in the area, and I used the trusty Unilocal app to find us some lunch. On first sight, I immediately got the impression that this was a franchise, kinda like Jimmy Johns. I did like how they had the menu broken down by specialty sandwiches, ham, turkey, roast beef, and breakfast sandwiches. There are about 20 seats, and a counter facing the street. One thing I have learned is that when a place is packed with college kids, you are going to get a good meal for a good price. I went with a King of Queens– pastrami, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, sliced tomatoes and Russian dressing, on a French roll. I had a half sandwich combo with macaroni salad and a drink. It. Was. huge! I could have made three meals out of this half. I will say that the macaroni salad was forgettable. The pastrami was clearly the star of the show. My husband got the Manhattan Transfer– cappicola, salami, provolone Served hot on a French roll, with lettuce and tomatoes. He went with the broccoli slaw and said it was A-OK.

When it comes to hot Italian sandwiches, the Manhattan Transfer is one of best I’ve had – ever. It comes with Cappicola, salami, provolone, parmesan, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and spicy mustard on a buttery Hero roll! The ingredients are fresh, the meat is plenty & the buttery roll puts this sandwich over the top! With only three ingredients: Pastrami, pickles, and yellow mustard – the New York Giant is another one of my favorites! What makes this sandwich stand out is not only the amount of pastrami that’s packed in it, but the way the pastrami is prepared. It’s not chewy, or fatty, and the edges are nice and crispy. This sandwich can easily be two meals – or shared by two adults. Gandolfo’s has an extensive menu – check it out on their website ahead of time to get an idea of what you might want to order. You can call in your order so that it’s ready when you get there. I recommend parking in the structure that’s shared with the apartments on the corner of Chapman & Harbor – it’s free to park there. Overall rating– 4.5 stars.

I came to Gandolfos looking for an authentic east coast style hot sandwich, and I was a bit hesitant with the 3.5 star review. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was too sloppy and wet. It was dripping with bbq steak sauce and the cheese they used was all stuck together. The sandwich could hardly stay together in one piece. Also, the meat they use is like that cheap roast beef you get at Arby’s. I was expected tender slices of beef, roasted and sizzling and melted cheese with caramelized veggies. It wasn’t very good. The lady working there was nice, but honestly, I am not impressed with the sandwiches here. I did however like their side dishes they give you with their sandwiches. They have a great banana pudding with vanilla wafers and whipped cream. They also have a very tasty pasta salad with black olives, herbs and a light dressing. However, overall I am just not feeling this place for sandwiches.

Close to work. In between my go-to Starbucks & Wahoo’s. I prefer their sandwiches over Subway or when I feel too lazy to mosey over to Philly’s Best. If I wasn’t always in a hurry, I could study their big arse menu posted on the wall behind the front counter forever. But since I am normally pressed for time when I come here, I already know what I want. I have only had 3 sandwiches here, which is what I am giving them 3BIG stars for. 1) New York Giant, Pastrami, pickles and mustard on a hero roll. 2) Philly Cream Cheese Steak, Roast Beef, cream cheese, mozzarella, lettuce and tomato on a hero roll. 3) Radio City(breakfast sandwich), Ham, 2 eggs and American cheese on a kaiser roll. Even though this place was slow on me twice their sandwiches have never failed my taste buds. The breads come soft and warm with a nice splash of butter rubbed into it somewhere, meats tender and juicy and the melted cheeses just drizzle marvelously over the meats. Their sandwich prices remind of me Quiznos, which you could need at least $ 10. for if you want a drink to accompany it. Once in awhile it’s good to have.
