Loved this place. Very fresh. Nice ratio fish to rice. Gave us multiple rolls at a time. And beer at $ 1.50? This place is legit. Only wish that kept the lunch prices all night! Recommending to all friends!

First off I do not review restaurants often. I only do it when it’s really exceptional or really horrible. In this case it was really horrible. We used to go to this location for sushi before Hello Sushi opened up. It was called Gatten Sushi, a revolving sushi bar. We were bummed out that it closed down because it was cheap & decent. The thing that attracted me and my wife to this new place was 50% off and All You Can Eat. As it turned out we couldn’t order just 1AYCE. We either have to order 2AYCE or both of us get the 50% off a la carte. Even the 50% off you can’t order specialty sushi which is ridiculous and no sashimi! WHAT??? It’s BS cuz I eat a lot, but my wife doesn’t so we were forced to get 2AYCE. BTW this place has a lot of rules which is just absurd. We should’ve known better, but we still gave it a shot. The rules state no sharing(or get charge extra), we must finish all our food(or get charge extra), eat the rice in the nigiri(or get charge extra). Have sashimi available with AYCE or else I won’t be eating the rice, plain and simple! When I enjoy my night eating out I don’t need rules or to think about what I eat or if I finish it or not. If I pay for it then let it be. The waitress was kind of rude. It was like she didn’t want to be there. And EVERYONE stalks you. The bus boys stalks you, the 2 sushi chef stalks you and the hostess stalks you. In turn they relay the message back to the waitress regarding any of their 30 dumb rules to make sure you don’t share or waste food. I definitely DONOT need this when I eat out. I’m not 8 years old! The food was average ATBEST. The gyoza look like frozen gyoza you can get at the supermarket, my nigiri sushi was warm, their rolls doesn’t seem fresh, and their crabs are imitation. They were really slow between rounds. It seems like they do it on purpose so you have to wait and get full really quick, preventing you from getting more food when you get the AYCE. I definitely won’t be coming back to this restaurant ever!

My second time here so I’ll now rate it. The food is okay. Nothing special. The(nigiri) unagi was super burnt BOTH times I got it and the salmon tasted old too. I didn’t like how the chefs just ignored me every time I said thank you when they served the plate to me and just acted like they didn’t hear it and just started to converse to the other chefs pretty loudly. I felt like I couldn’t eat and just listen to what they were talking about. Rolls, eh nothing special too. This place is a TYPICALKOREANOWNEDSUSHIJOINT. Only good thing is their 50% off menu on everything except speciality rolls. I’d suggest they keep it that price to stay open. Btw it was pretty much empty both times I went there and I went both times on Friday for dinner. But if you’re gonna get something get the seared albacore roll with crunchy onion. That was the only thing that was decent. Everything else is too drenched in sauce.

Second time coming here with my wife. I’m well pleased with the whole experience. The service is great, they are extremely attentive and overall very nice. The food is really good; a couple of rolls have a little too much sauce, but they were good nonetheless. Free refills on really good hot green tea. Yummy. I will definitely be returning again, and again. Definitely worth the visit.

The service was fast and friendly. The food was great. Surprisingly the fish was fresh for an AYCE joint. The only down side is they don’t have any rolls with no rice. Other than that, this is a great place to hang out with good ambiance and music… and great food. I’ll come back to place again.

Good/average sushi. I had AYCE and it was okay. Great service, attentive server, and quiet ambiance. Food took a bit to come out but it was during lunch time so that’s okay. Will come again.

wow. how did I not know it was open 7 months ago. –the quality for ayce was great. –the rice to fish ratio is perfect. not too much or too little of either. –you can’t beat their drink special when you get AYCE. $ 1.50 for a glass of sapporo beer. $ 1.00 for a medium sake –their mackerel was bomb as well as their eel –all the fish look very fresh and taste fresh. –service was good. –you should note it will be dinner prices of $ 25 for lunch on weekends. when we first went in for lunch and asked what the lunch prices were, one of the employees told us it was $ 21 for lunch. later got billed $ 26 per person and when we asked the what’s up they told us no lunch prices on weekends. –I think it was their albacore that was a little overly smoky tasting and their«whitefish» isn’t the typical white fish you find at other places. it tastes and looks more like red snapper. if you’re a fan of ayce sushi, I recommend this place

It’s an AYCE place. But you have to order it in 3 rounds. So the setup is weird and puts pressure on how you order your food. The food was just okay, I was not blown away by the quality of the fish. The service is good and the waitress was attentive. But I don’t think i will be going back to this place. Also, the shopping center the restaurant is located in is just NASTY! The grounds and benches was dirty and walking into the restaurant did not give me confidence that the restaurant was clean. First impressions was given by the nasty shopping center!

This place was awesome! Amazing selection of sushi rolls! We got the crunchy roll and the 911, both very yummy! We also had the albacore which was very fresh as well. Our server was great and very friendly. Atmosphere was clean and nice! I would highly recommend this place.

Awesome sushi restaurant. The service was fast, the food tasted great. The sushi is fresh, not a lot of rice with the sushi, the choices were different from other sushi bars and he place was very clean. Thank you, would definitely come back.

Alright so I like to do reviews on food(especially raw fish) a few days after I’ve eaten just to make sure I didn’t get sick from it. First off it tasted great and the presentation was executed pretty decently as well. The price was fair and about 2 dollars cheaper than competitors for AYCE. They bring out the food pretty quickly so make sure you have plenty of space on the table if you order a lot of food on round 1. All around I really like the place, but only gave it 4 stars out of 5 for one reason. If you are eating with a group you will need to order in the same fashion. And what I mean by that is if you order non-AYCE but someone else wants AYCE then you all have to order AYCE because the restaurant is worried about sharing. Le but understandable.

My boy and myself stopped by here mid day in between clients to have something fresh. First off, we LOOOOVVVEEE sushi & fish in general so we can be critical but we give everyone the good olé try. The place is really clean & new. Very open space. Instead of just a typical bar top they actually have booths attached to the sushi bar and the chef just hands the sushi over the top. Kinda cool! Right?! The menu was pretty typical for an all you can eat sushi joint. We ordered a handful of things. Albacore, salmon & yellowtail sushi with a few hand rolls. The fish was pretty fresh but not the best. A little too much overload on the sauces for the rolls and the service was somewhat so-so even on a not so busy afternoon.

Came here yesterday between the mellow hours of 2 – 4, had three rolls and two Asahi tall beers for just under $ 50, not bad. They also offer an all you can eat option for those who can really put away some sushi. Sadly for me, I don’t eat very much in one sitting so the pay as you go option was a better choice for me. We had the Shrimp Shrimp roll, the 911 roll and the yellow tail crunch roll(don’t remember the name at the moment but it had onion strings), each one was delicious I couldn’t pick a favorite if I tried. Beautiful place, great service and great food means we will be back!

I came here twice before i settle on 3 stars. The food here is decent. Your average AYCE. The food was good but not wow. The service? Well they tried. I turn in my paper order the first time and it never came till i asked what happened to my food? They said oh… its on the way, after everyone got their food but me. Its like i was the first one to order and i ordered like 10 mins before everyone in my party. The two times that i have been here they have forgotten some of the items we ordered. The last time i came here one of the server were clearing the table and she spilled water all over the floor. This was at the beginning of my meal. When i got up to leave the puddle was still there. Someone could had slipped on it.

Atmosphere: It’s a modern take on a japanese sushi bar! There’s no rotary, but there are booths around the sushi chefs which was super nice. Lighting is on the low side, but it isn’t too dark. Sound level is average and the tables and plates were clean! Service: Our servers were all so nice! The korean dude with a heavy accent was funny and looked like he loved working at Hello Sushi. Service was prompt and kind. Food: OMG! The fish to rice ratio is SOGOOD here. It’s comparable to Sake2Me, but not as fresh tasting. Some cuts of the nigri fell short of being fresh tasting, but the ratio… the ratio of the fish to rice. AMAZING. Hand rolls were packed with fish and flavor, the rolls were tight and made to order, and you already know how I feel about the nigri. There is also deal where you get $ 1.50 per pint of Sapporo beer if you order from the all you can eat menu. Perfect. I love this place and will definitely be back!

After the car ride debate of, «what should we have for dinner, you decide» «I don’t know, no you decide» between me and my husband finally ended… and driving to Fullerton, sitting in the Best Buy parking lot surfing Unilocal reviews for 20 minutes, we finally decided on Sushi. Hello Sushi was right in front of us the entire time. This place is really clean, the staff is very friendly, and the ambiance can actually be pretty romantic. The booths are high and pretty private, not much noise, and they put a really cool light changing bar over the old revolver. Reviews can go either way with this place so we’ve learned that with new Sushi spots our game plan is to order 1 – 2 smaller items to try out and if we don’t like it, we’ll get the bill and leave… this place completely screwed up our game plan. With them, its one or the other. You can either order individually or AYCE. Once you’ve picked, that’s what you are stuck with. Well, we went with the AYCE because individual can make you or break you and we were looking for some sushi so, it would have been a lesson learned if we hated it. LUCKILY, we LOVE it! The sushi is great here! Everything was fresh and presented very nicely. Service can be hit or miss here. Starting out they were on top of things but as it got towards the end they tend to disappear. Most places once your last item comes they also bring the menu so you can mark more things for your next round. We didn’t have that luck here. We had to ask for our menu back. Sadly, we never even made it to the 3rd round though… but we sat around for 10 minutes chit chatting after we finished out 2nd round and no one brought it back then as well so I guess it was a sign that we needed to stop. haha. At least they kept up with water refills though. Needless to say, if we’re in the area and looking for sushi, we’ll be back.

Used to be Gatten Sushi or something. Friendly service, calm atmosphere, and typically yummy sushi. I don’t think there is a time limit for AYCE, which is $ 20 per person, or(this might be limited time?) 50% off separate order rolls. We ordered lots of nigiri and special rolls like Soft Shell Crab and Dragon Roll. Regular rolls like California and small spicy tuna rolls not worth getting though.

AYCE! $ 17 at lunch time, $ 25 after 3PM. My favorite roll was the Las Vegas Roll! It has that balance of hot and cold with creaminess because of the cream cheese… mmmm. Baked Salmon roll was also delicious. Our waitress kindly suggested the Hello Yellowtail and the Hello Tuna… of which my husband loved! His favorite is the Hello Yellowtail. Both warm rolls wrapped in rice paper… only comes in 2s(2 rolls). Along with the AYCE you can order $ 1.50 beers and $ 1 hot sake. Kind service. I would definitely suggest this place.
