Good and affordable sushi! It is a small place and it was already packed by 6:30pm on a Friday but the wait for the bar was not too long. ***Happy Hour everyday from 3−7pm*** $ 1.75 each sushi and some rolls are discounted to ~$ 6. We got some salmon and yellowtail nigiri and the fish were good and fresh. The rice could use a lil more vinegar but overall it was good. The Lobster roll has chunks of lobster tail! very good and it was not overpowered by the sauce like in most other places. Hubby and I were going to share an Unagi don but since they accidentally brought us two and they looked really good, we decided to keep them and almost devoured them both. They were light with the sauce, so it had just the right amount of sweet and savory. Free Thai iced tea with check in! Again, it was on the«lighter» side, not as strong as other places but still very good and milky. Service is friendly and attentive. They have a small parking lot in the back but it was also easy to find street parking. Final bill for 2 was only about $ 52. Would definitely go back!

Been having sushi with Pete since the first joint opened in Glendale Lots of sushi places are close to similar but Pete and his team really know what they are doing Always have the freshest fish they give you great portions plus they make house made sauces for some rolls which can’t be compared Sometimes I go in and just have Pete make me whatever he likes and it never ever disappoints I would 10000% try this spot if you live close I drove all the way from Glendale just cause I had court in Fullerton I am really really happy I stopped by I have recommended lots of friends to the Glendale establishment when they opened and I still have friends who stuck to this spot and have been going more than I have It is that good !!!

First time trying out this place, came during happy hour of course(I’m a self proclaimed happy hour junkie). The rolls under the HH menu range from $ 2-$ 9. From hand rolls, to over the top dressed rolls. My boyfriend and I ordered a Fullerton roll, 911, and Rainbow roll. All were pretty delicious. The 911 happened to be drenched with a tad too much chili oil for my taste but was still good. I did find that the Fullerton roll was actually spicier than the 911 though. Overall, decent service(waiter never stopped by to see if we needed anything & wasn’t available to ask any questions) and decent sized rolls at a subpar HH price. Probably not my go-to sushi joint, but a nice shot at trying something new!

First time trying this place out. It was pretty delicious! We tried a variety of cooked rolls and my husband had albacore belly and albacore sushi and said it was melt in your mouth delish and fresh. I would normally review on the freshness but being pregnant I couldn’t eat anything raw. Service is great the owner is very friendly. The place is small and was busy the entire time we were there. It’s a must try if you’re in the area.

I usually do my sushi freshness test based off of the uni they serve. Unfortunately, they ran out of of uni so I wasn’t able to give it a valid sushi review based on the freshness. The albacore sushi and albacore belly was really good. No fishy after taste or toughness to the fish. It was very clean and almost«melt in your mouth» texture. The rolls were very delicious and flavorful. Unfortunately, we only sampled the cooked rolls because my wife is pregnant and can only eat those. Of the raw fish I had, I was very clean and delicious. We would definitely come back and sample some other of the sushi and hopefully they’ll have some uni for me to try.

I loved the atmosphere, it’s laid back and the staff here are friendly. We went for happy hour, I gotta say it was awesome their crunchy rolls are one of the best I’ve had. Their hand rolls, shrimp temp was delicious!!! I had my 14 year old God daughter with me who’s never had sushi and she’s already asking when are we going back.

Love this place! Staff is always friendly and helpful, and chefs are fantastic. The menu ranges from very traditional sashimi to creative rolls and appetizers. Chefs are always eager to please and never disappoint when you ask them to make you something they think you’ll like. Very fresh food and excellent service! Great happy hour(3 – 7 every day) and daily specials. Parking lot is small, but street parking is available.

Came in for a quick lunch with 2 of my coworkers. Place is well lit with modest decoration. Ordered the garlic edamame for a starter, it had a nice toasted garlic flavor with chili flakes to give a mild heat. I ordered the vegetable tempura & gyoza lunch special. Tempura was light & fresh and the gyoza was fried to a nice golden brown. To top it off both servers were very attentive visiting us multiple times during our meal & cleared the table as we finished each of our entrees. All in all a successful lunch time adventure.

I’m so happy I decided to check this place out!!! We ordered the crunch roll and roll. The crunch roll is THE best crunch roll I’ve ever had! Perfect ratio of rice to filling. I also like that they didn’t drown the rolls in sauce like other places. The servers were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back! :)

BOMB sushi, affordable prices, fantastic service, prompt chefs, happy hour, facebook check-in special, free parking. This place is an A+ in my book and my new favorite sushi place!!! I noticed the car references in some of their food names. kudos for that! Happy hour is EVERYDAY from 4pm to 7pm. sunset roll — crab, shrimp, inside with tuna and masago on top. This has so much flavor and every single ingredient compliments each other. I highly highly recommend this to everyone!!! We wanted to order one more but realized we were stuffed! 911 — This is spicy!!! Spicy tuna inside and a good amount of avo on top with some chili sauce. Pretty good 1000 oaks — Can’t go wrong with $ 4! Shrimp tempura, crab, avo. Pretty decent but needs sauce. the sushi nigiri from the happy hour are all 1.75 per PIECE! I got the salmon one and it was super fresh and lean! This place also has no fishy smell!(ugh some of little tokyo restaurants REEK of fish blehk) I am definitely coming back here when I am in oc!

Summary: Good food, good quality, and pretty reasonable prices. Service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is pretty small inside, so if a party of 6 or greater, plan for a wait. There is a small parking lot for the restaurant, and more parking along the street. My family gathered for a birthday dinner to be celebrated at Sushi Joint after my sister had recommended it from previous visits. We arrived at around 5:30pm on a rainy Sunday evening, and had to wait about 25 minutes outside under the awning before a table for the six of us(plus my baby nephew) became available. Once seated, we our drink order was quickly taken while we perused the menu. Because there were three couples, we ordered by couple instead of for the whole table to share(each couple has distinct preferences). This is what my wife and I ordered: Yorba Linda Fantasy — Two large mounds of spicy tuna with some sriracha and eel sauce, on top of two crispy wontons. Pretty tasty, but nothing amazing, and not particularly spicy. Also, not a huge bargain for $ 11. New guy roll — This was really tasty. An excellent combination of ingredients, nicely portioned, and quite enjoyable. Unagi nigiri — Nice and tender. Toasty and sweet. Standard, but good. Yellowtail belly nigiri — This was a special, and a favorite for my wife. She loved the flavor and texture of the fish. Very well executed. Salmon nigiri — A little chewy, but good. Nicely portioned. The total for all six of us came out to about $ 118, which isn’t bad. I also got to spin the wheel and won a free appetizer for our next visit. Definitely a good place to get quality sushi in the area. We would come back again.

Awesome service and excellent HAPPYHOUR(3−7pm)! This is fusion sushi, and I love me some tasty, saucy fusion rolls every now and again. Our favorites at HH include the Cheesy Ebi(deep-fried with jalapeño, $ 6), Fullerton Roll($ 9), and Sunrise Roll($ 9). The so-so rolls include the spicy shrimp and crab($ 4), the thousand oaks($ 3), and the rainbow($ 9). A pitcher of beer at regular price is $ 17. Come during HH, and they knock off $ 3. Definitely order the GARLIC edamame — it’s like crack, so addicting! Our group of four were fighting over the last bitty pieces, and ended up putting another order in… #fattys Parking is horrid. I suggest carpooling.

This was the last stop on my sushi crawl and another bookmark down. Woohoo! This place is located in the heart of Fullerton right on the corner so you can’t miss it. Parking is RIDIC and SUPERDUPERTINY so most peeps parked on the street in the neighborhood or did like I did and parked across the street. Please Note: I don’t NOT know if that was ok or not but you can do it ATYOUROWNRISK! I wasn’t planning to stay long so I took my chances and came out unscathed. This place was PACKEDOUT and folks were waiting outside for a table inside! There is a NICE patio outdoors that were you can sit when it’s open. They even turned on the lights and heaters which was GREAT because it was a bit chili outside. As soon as we walked in we were greeted right away. We told them we want to order some sushi to go and they handed us a menu. My tum-tum was pretty full by this point being that it was the 5th and final stop on the sushi crawl with my Unilocal buddy. We had pretty mush ran and sushi gauntlet so we only ordered one roll here and went with a philly roll because we both like cream cheese. We already knew what we wanted since we sort of discussed it as we were walking in and waiting at the place before. We found what we wanted right away and put in our order, paid and waited outside on the patio for our food. Our order came up right away in no time which was GREAT and it was brought to us outside. Since there was space outside we decided to stay and eat. The philly roll was PRETTYBIG. We dove righ tin and YUM, YUM, YUM! VERYFRESH and DELISH! We gobbled up every bite. This is a definitely do-over place. I’d really like to try a few more rolls here as well as some sake. GOODFOOD and GOODSERVICE! It a small place so if you plan to try it come early or be patient because there might be a wait.
