We decided to try Sherry’s since we had friends up and didn’t feel like taking a bunch of kids out or cooking. I had read the reviews on here but wasn’t sure what was going on with the bait shop/​restaurant concept. We ordered the wings, pulled pork, and a couple of sides and loved every bit of it! It was delicious. And, to my wife’s liking, they offer a gluten free menu.
I cook on my own Big Green Egg all the time but with Sherry’s right down the road I’m not sure I’ll be cooking as much.

Love the food! We come here at least once a week, if I’m not up for cooking I’ll call in an order and they will have it ready at the time I ask. Family owned and operated which is a plus in my book…

I called ahead to get some BBQ for my daughter and her boyfriend that were studying hard at school. I was completely amazed at the tenderness and flavor of the BBQ. The pulled pork melted in your mouth. The sweet sauce was incredible. The creamed corn was the best I’d ever had. The macaroni and cheese was very good. I didn’t buy enough of that. And the peach cobbler was a great ending to a fantastic meal. I will definitely be back.

Really nice, clean, and organized place with the absolute best chicken I have ever had. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Overall an awesome place to eat and purchase anything for your fishing needs. I will be back soon!

We had an exquisite experience with Sherry’s Bait and Barbeque. We rented a lake house to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday and had two children with severe dairy allergies. I spoke to Terry personally who patiently helped me choose safe and delicious options. He assured me that everything would be handled carefully and that he would avoid cross contamination. He put me at ease and I took his word, and boy are we glad we did! Everything was perfect, awesome smoke, and tender fall of the bone ribs. The food was a hit and the highlight of the party. The sauce was great and my little guests were ecstatic to know that they could have some. The spicy is a winner! Thank you Terry and Sherry for providing us with such a great meal, we will definitely be back!

I can only comment on the breakfast but if the tenderloin biscuits and country ham biscuits and bacon biscuits are ANY indication of how good everything else is, then I can recommend Sherry’s highly. Best tenderloin I’ve ever had. Better than my Mom’s even. I saw a couple of Big Green Eggs in the smokehouse so I’m guessing that’s one reason it’s so good. Try it out!

Wonderful food! So far we have tried the brisket, pulled pork, chicken quarters and their wings, loved every bite. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed after trying this place out.

We’ve lived in Gainesville for a year now and we finally tried Sherry’s Bait and Barbecue… I can not believed we’ve wasted a whole year we could have been eating this barbecue. We stopped in for lunch. I got the rib plate with mac-​n-​cheese and stew, and my wife got the pulled pork sandwich with slaw and stew. The ribs were super tender and fell off the bone. They did not have any sauce, but had tons of great smoke, pork flavor. AMAZING. My wife’s sandwich and all the sides were very good as well. We will definitely be back.

Leave it to a woman to a have a clean bait shop. No complaints. Food was great. Prices good. Place was brand new and clean and Sherry was really nice and gave great service. This is the type of place you like to do business with.

This place is awesome. Chicken salad and bbq are the best. Hot and sweet sauce is as good as it gets. Sherry makes the best chicken salad! I cook in be competitions and Terry’s bbq is worthy of a grand champion trophy. Plus they have bait and Terry can give you the goods on best fishing tactics.

This place is a hidden gem! We passed it on our way out of town and stopped in for dinner on our way home. So glad we did! Best bbq I have ever had and the sides are delicious! They offer everything that goes perfectly with bbq. Three sauce options — sweet, Carolina and hot&sweet. The owner is so nice and the staff customer service is excellent. They use a big green egg to make some of their meats and they are so tender and made just right. We will definitely be back and will be recommending it to our friends!

we’ve tried every BBQ place in Hall county and Sherry’s is the absolute best to us. not only is the BBQ outstanding, but the sides are amazing, too. The Brunswick stew will make you dance a jig, its so good and its plenty affordable, too. Before Sherry’s opened our go-​to BBQ joint was Big D’s. … sorry D’s but Sherry’s is just flat out better. Maybe its the Big Green Eggs they use? I dunno. I just know writing this review is making me want to get back to Sherry’s this week for more BBQ. lol

Great people and excellent food! We go for the biscuits frequently, but have also had a number of their BBQ items. We almost always add BBQ tacos to our meals, and the smoked wings are unbelievably good! Also, cobbler isn’t just for breakfast.

A new shop still organizing, they are very friendly. A good place to stop for a southern breakfast at the common table or lunch or supper with some fresh cooked barbecue. You can also get drinks to go but no alcohol. There is also bait and tackle available!
