Forget about the bar! Come here day and night for coffee to wake you up and cocktails to wine you down. This vibrant and casual café serves European inspired pastries and brunch favorites with a twist. The staff is super friendly and I love it when people smile! There are seating options outdoors and I love the huge windows that bring in a lot of light. I ordered the chai latte, which was pretty standard. My husband had the kaiser mélange, which is coffee mixed with egg yolk, honey and whipped cream. It tastes pretty good if you can get pass the smell and taste of the raw yolk. It was coffee at a whole new level. I’m not a pancake fan but I ordered the Emperor Pancakes due to its popularity and I was so glad I took the risk! The pancakes are deconstructed and cut into strips, which is kind of fun and playful. I like that they didn’t just throw in apples and strawberries; instead, they made it into a compote and topped it with freshly whipped cream. My husband had the ham and cheese croissant and instead of having one chunk of ham in the middle like what we are used to seeing, the ham is diced into pieces and spread evenly throughout the center of the pastry. He loved his pastry and that says a lot because he is a croissant snob. His only complaint was for more ham. There were very little ham pieces in there. So glad we tried this café while exploring Gainesville!

Nice find. Good wine list, friendly staff, fresh, tasty and well presented food. Wish it was closer and it would be our regular spot. Outdoor seating as well. Stopped by for a bite and wine before concert at Jiffy Lube which is just minutes away.(Note: Skip going JiffyLube Live venue, it’s a disaster).

Went back over the weekend. I don’t know what happened in the last 4 weeks since I was there last, but I was so disappointed. The new staff had no idea what was going on. Our usual bartender was not there. She always answered questions and took time to get our order right! My food came out and my wife’s came 15min later. We got the exact same thing we got last time! How is this possible!!? Our drinks were not as good as they usually are. We got an Irish coffee like we always do, our regular bartender would make it in front of us and talk to us as she stirred the fire. It was disappointing to say the least. We had just begun to really love this hidden gem but you guys need to fix the staff or we will not be back!

My husband and I stopped through here on a Friday night after a movie. I had the signature Titanic and my husband enjoyed a rum and coffee drink. The preparation of his drink required a small fire, rum, sugar, and expresso — oh my! So delicious! The coffee drink gave me a pleasant kick in the throat. The staff was friendly, the place was clean and not overly busy, folks from the table beside us made pleasant small talk, and the drinks were tasty. It was a good experiences. I’ll be back on a Saturday morning with my girlfriends.

Just popped in to get beignets and some biscotti. Thy are busy for semi busy but packed by all means. More people are sitting outside. I frequent the Clifton location for meals and love it. I am told they have lots of great wines here but I am driving so I am skipping. I will say the coffee is delicious! Yum yum! I was asked if I needed service several times and feel like they are attentive. While writing this at the bar waiting for order, I witnessed something a server did that was rather questionable but I am short on time so will write a more detailed explanation later. Would it make me not return? Ummm not sure. Hence my desire to wait.

first time visitor here and will definitely be back, the staff are super friendly, made to feel very welcome, really liked the atmosphere, casual cool. I cannot comment on the quality of the food being served, I can only assume its good by the number of people eating, as for the coffee’s my wife had a caramel machiato that she said was delicious, I had an americano and likewise, very pleased with the overall flavor… Go check it out

I love this place! Great customer service, great food, cute little spot, and my caramel latte was amazing. Definitely will be returning and will probably be a regular customer.

I really do love this place. The atmosphere is not what you’ll find anywhere inside of a 20-mile radius for coffee shops. Lots of open light, magnificent décor, friendly staff, great little promenade section outside, and I really only have positive things to say about the quality of drinks there. The mocha diavolo is incredible. But man… considering my background in good coffee from when I lived in Nashville, I absolutely cannot justify their prices. This really bars me from making Trummer’s a usual hangout spot. And that makes me sad to have to say. Guys, seriously. Consider dropping your prices. Good coffee shouldn’t cost that much. (Fwiw readers, don’t bother spiking your coffee. I did that once and ended up with a $ 12 drink.)

Great titanic drinks and love that they are $ 8 on Tuesdays! The place is great, love the truffle popcorn. It’s definitely overpriced, but fun to be at. I like it anyhow!

This coffee & wine bar needs a lot of work to succeed. I’ve been here a few times and all of these issues seem to be tied to poor management. I think this place has a lot of potential but if the management doesn’t step up, this place will go out of business in no time. 8 a.m. opening time alienates almost your entire morning coffee commuter base! Everyone is checked out of Gainesville by 8 if they need to be at work at 9. Starbucks has better hours and is just a stone’s throw away, unfortunately that’s where I’m forced to go to grab my morning coffee in this area. Staff seems poorly trained, disinterested, unprofessional and bored at times. They don’t appear to know where anything is, how to make certain cocktails, or to even care. At the bar, I’ve observed them staring off into space, joking casually with other staff, and joking about how they don’t know what they are doing and that they don’t know where anything is. There seems to be too many employees on staff at any given time. Again, I think this is tied to poor management. All 3 times I’ve been here it took forever to catch someone’s attention both to take my order AND to get my check. As other people have observed, it also takes forever to get your coffee or wine… other people I’ve come with have all complained about the same thing. Happy Hour is pathetic — 2 choices of red wine, 2 choices of white, 2 choices of beer and popcorn and ends at 6 pm. Prices are not competitive. With Firebirds and Bar Louie right across the street offering a far better Happy Hour(and until 7 pm) there is no reason to go here for Happy Hour. Bar stock(liquors, wines, etc) is limited Coffee is good but overpriced. They have some interesting coffee drinks that set this place apart from others, and they are well-made. I’d pay a little more for the quality, and I’d love to have a local coffee joint that isn’t Starbucks, but this place needs to step up their game if they want to keep my business.

Yummy coffee options and absolutely love the einspanner and the beignets are close to the southern kind I grew up with. Haven’t tried sandwiches but they look tasty. A bit chaotic with the ordering process and its small but a nice cozy place.

Went this past Saturday after Christmas for the first time and really enjoyed myself. Arrived around noon with my husband and one of our friends — I didn’t expect it to be empty but I didn’t expect the crowds! We got one of the last tables. Every other table was taken; there were just a few seats available at the bar. We were there for several hours and the crowd ebbed and flowed the whole time, but was pretty steady! This place has a small(small bites), well-executed menu. Since it was Saturday, I not only had choices of breakfast and lunch(sandwiches), but they were also featuring a brunch menu that had a few additional options. To begin, I ordered a bloody mary and my husband ordered a glass of bubbly. One thing this place DOESN’T do — skimp on the pours. Wow! Mine was overflowing and his was filled to the brim(and later, when we switched to wine and there was only a bit left, they gave us the glass for free). My husband had the breakfast panini, I had the brie baguette sandwich. Both were well-executed and larger portions(especially the panini) than expected. The bread, as well as the ingredients, tasted fresh. Our friend ordered the chocolate tart, which she really enjoyed but said it was very rich. Atmosphere is cool and casual — very inviting. The large bar features brass accents and is quite large; the rest of the restaurant(it’s on a corner spot in the town center) was decorated with wood tables. We didn’t want to finish without trying the coffee or a cocktail, so ordered two coffees and a Titanic that we asked if they could somehow split. The Titanic came in three mini glasses, which I thought was pretty cool. I also really enjoyed the coffee. Overall, a cool spot to hang out for a few hours, enjoy a small bite(or two) and have your pick of either wine, beer, cocktails, or coffee. I’d return.

I was there in probably August or so. They don’t do decaf. Well they kind of do, but they have to go through some long, weird, extra process that is kind of like decaf but isn’t? I ordered it and 20 minutes later it came out with a «oh, they had to do this that the other thing to weaken it so it’s kind of like decaf but isn’t,» despite the server having told me they did have decaf. Anyway, it’s a neat concept. I’m not sure I would go out of my way to come back because it’s just not my thing. Their wine list has a decent selection.

It’s always so pleasant when we come here! Ask for Kristen; she’s super nice! I absolutely love the atmosphere, and the food is really good! Especially the beignets! They just melt in your mouth.

Food and drink were absolutely superb, no contest there. Had the cold brew coffee, caprese panini and arugula salad. Great for bringing small children. Their bathroom had a very clean changing station and cushioned bench perfect for nursing. Located right in front of the promenade water fountain play area. Will be coming here often!

I was a bit confused by this place for a while. They didn’t have a sign for the establishment for a time but it seemed to be pretty busy any time I passed by. I was a little confused because any time I passed by, the people outside were only drinking cocktails. I incorrectly assumed it was just a wine bar of sorts and being that I don’t drink I wrote it off. But about a week ago they added a sign and I looked them up on the handy Unilocal here. To my surprise and excitement I saw they were not just a wine bar, but a café with coffee and food as well. What a hidden gem! Hiding right under my nose! I checked them out on a Tuesday at about 1. Despite being a late lunch there was still a good number of people dining and sitting at the bar. According to their posted signs if you come after 11 just take a menu and seat yourself and a waiter will be with you. The waiter came with a small vase of water and two glasses of ice and took our order. I got their caprese panini and a side kale salad. The sandwiches are not freshly made. They are all on display in the refrigerated display next to the cash register, and then they grill them upon ordering. The pesto on my panini had made the bread rather soggy which was a little off putting, but the flavors were still good. The kale salad was simple but yummy. I also got a chocolate croissant to go and a medium iced with whip that was particularly yummy. I ordered the drink before we ate and only took a few sips while eating. The waiter noticed how untouched my drink appeared at the end of our meal and asked if there was a problem with it and kindly offered to remake it. I suppose I should have ordered it after eating as I just don’t like to drink it with my meal. But I loved it! I thought it was nice, attentive and thoughtful of him to offer that. I appreciated the great service! It’s a bit on the pricier side for the food items in my opinion but it all seemed of good quality and I look forward to trying many more things on their menu. I would certainly recommend checking this place out!

Trummers in Clifton is one of my fave spots. So naturally, when I heard about the opening of a small wine and coffee bar, I had to make that drive to Gainesville. The opening party tempted many to attend with their 8:00AM opening special of $ 1 Titanics. If you imbibe in their famous Titanic drinks(cost $ 14) then you know that $ 1 is a slight bargain. The location is in the new town center next to the BJ’s store. There is plenty of street parking at 8:00 — 9:00AM on a Sunday morning. We were amazing at the crowded outdoor and indoor seating. We snagged a nice cozy table inside. They have a small menu consisting of breakfast breads, light sandwiches and my fav… beignets! There’s also a nice assortment of cocktails, beers and non-alcholic drinks. We had awesome table service at 9:30am. As the morning moved on, the place was mobbed with people. The line to order drinks/food was out the door. Every table and seat was a premium. The titantics were simply amazing. Since we arrived just past 9am, we nabbed them at $ 2 a drink, again… a huge bargain. We sampled the beignets, and the french bread and brie sammies. The sandwich was lightly toasted and I asked them not to include the tomato. It was perfect. The beignet order included 3 very large round donut-like cakes. It was so YUMMY. We spoke with one of the staff who informed us of Sunday drink specials as well as happy hours similar to the Clifton location. If I am in the Gainesville area, I will definitely make this a regular visit.

I am so delighted Trummer’s is here! I met Stefan the owner while training their employees. He was nice and all their employees reflected the same welcoming approached. My husband and I frequently go and we love it! Try the beignet and quiche. Whatever you choose — I guarantee it is delicious. They will also make your coffee«starbucks» style if you like. This place is a gem for our area. Relaxing place with European flair. I love, love, this place!

I’ve visited Trummer’s a number of times since they’ve opened. Note that as of Sunday, June 21, 2015, they still don’t have their external building signage up yet. They have the coolest cold brew drip coffee device — it looks like it belongs in a Mad Scientist’s laboratory! And it makes amazing cold brew coffee! Strong and delicious! I’ve had their Sage cocktail as well as one of their beers — the Palm Speciale Belgian Ale — a European style beer, not really my thing. Kind of bland. Their focus apparently is on European style beverages. I’ve had their Tomato-Mozzarella-Basil quiche with a side Argula salad — which was quite tasty. I’ve also had their beignets — served piping hot with a dipping sauce that was mind blowing. Yummy! They are set up to offer a range of adult cocktails, so I am looking forward to experiencing some of my favorites including Dirty Vodka Martinis(with blue cheese or Gorgonzola stuffed olives), the classic James Bond Vesper Martini, and the Lemon Drop Martini. Apparently they don’t have the olives yet, or the Lillet Blanc, which is necessary to make the Vesper, but allegedly they will have those ingredients soon! The staff has been very nice each time I’ve come in. Great place for a cocktail and a snack before or after a movie over at the Regal Cinemas!
