Charming Charlie – Gaithersburg

I normally LOVE this store, and during my outing tonight with my friend, most of the sales women who greeted us and helped were very nice and accommodating. That is until I checked out– unfortunately I do not have the name of the associate but her sales number is 50 527. I brought with me two coupons, I bought approximately 13 items. I was under using the first coupon by 35 cents… Only 35 cents! There was nothing small around the counter and my friend and I were flustered– the sales associate could have offered help, showed us the clearance items or lower priced items but instead she stood there and look annoyed with me that I was wasting her time. I had to use the other items I was purchasing and she wouldn’t let me use both coupons. At this point I was beyond her not helping me. She barely wrapped all of my items (some items were rather large and bulky) and she shoved them into a tiny bag. Really? A tiny bag for all of items I purchased and all of the money I just spent! I’ve worked retail and I know that with the holidays coming up, her attitude should change because there will be additional bad reviews! My friend who bought a thin scarf and one necklace behind me, was using two coupons which the associate neglected to ring up until my friend reminded her there were two rewards. Her two items were then wrapped nicely and put into a large bag! I will shop at this store again, but trust me that I will be very vocal while I’m there if I’m not treated appropriately.

Horrible treatment at this location. Could the employees be more disrespectful and snobby? So glad I took my $ 200 to Franchescas up the street. They are soooo much nicer and actually care about their customers!
I will never shop at this location again.

Charming Charlie’s is well-​organized by colors, so it’s especially easy to find a piece of costume jewelry or a purse to complement a specific outfit. It’s all costume jewelry so I would probably not use many of their pieces for everyday wear, but for special occasions there are plenty of sparkling necklaces, bracelets, earrings, etc. Besides multiple displays of jewelry and purses they have some clothes; hair accessories; sun glasses; and other miscellaneous items, such as earring backs and necklace extenders. We were in the store with my granddaughter who was shopping for a birthday gift for her mother. I ended up buying a statement necklace and a sparkly bracelet. This store isn’t going to replace Ross Simons as my favorite jewelry store, but it serves a useful purpose for trendy costume jewelry and other accessories.

I’m a total fan of Charming Charlie! I literally went 3 days in a row last week! What?! I may need to go to Charming Anonymous. No, but seriously… I came for a bag and walked out with a bag, shoes, scarves and jewelry! Ah! I can’t pass up the deals I rack up in here. I love a great bargain and especially clearance items that don’t look like clearance. The staff here are incredibly nice and helpful. As always, the store is immaculate and the color coded displays are always on point!

I love this shop. It eats up my wallet everytime. They have the BEST accessories and now I see that they have clothes too! What an adrenaline rush shopping here. Its a devilish guilty pleasure!

This is like a princesses Wonderland. The store is selected by silver, gold, bronze., jewelry. They also sell sell small wallets, handbags, shoes, and clothes. It seems like a lot of high school kids shop here. It reminds me of forever 21. I got two necklaces from here and got many compliments for them. I actually have to go back and buy the same necklace that I got for myself for my mom because she liked it so much.

I went into Charming Charlie’s on ⁶⁄₁₀ at 5:30pm ish-​, I walked AROUND the store. looked at EVERY DISPLAY (this was my first time there — getting a gift card for a 12 yr old) and not ONE employee greeted me. I picked up some earrings and went to the coualcorn1nter. The young lady said ‘Next’, so I went up to the counter. I let her know that I wanted to purchase the earrings and a gift card. She told me that ‘The gift cards are over there — go pick one.’ REALLY??? She couldn’t have said it any nicer? Anyway. I have my bag and am walking thru the store to the exit. I walk past an employee putting necklaces up on a display. She turns and looks at me, smiles, and turns back around.
I had better service at Big Lots (my FIRST time there) last week.

So I use to love this store. Until I got a bill of glamour magazine on my credit card! I did not sign up for it and did not ask to sign up for it. When I called glamour magazine they said i signed up at charming charlies. I am so disappointed and mad that they would give out my credit card information and subscribe me to glamour magazine without my authorization! Please be aware of this and check your credit card purchases after you shop here. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.

Accessories-​dominant. Costume jewelry quality is not as good here as at Lou Lou, though Charming Charlie does indulge in gimmicky seasonal items. A few tunics that don’t really ride current trends, but comparable scarves and a larger selection of cheaper handbags that scale cost. Fairly well organized inventory, with only a few instances of overflow shelving. Nail polishes run ho hum, and not pretty enough to grab as affordable dupes. Kudos for carrying stretch ties. Register line gets long during holiday shopping season.

Ok so I have an update since I was in there the last time. The staff has completely changed and isn’t as friendly or helpful as they used to be. The store is a mess now too! Good luck shopping here. I won’t be coming back.

Looking through the windows of the store, you may think that this place is ridiculously priced. Let me assure you, it is not.
The first dress I came across was extremely cute. In my mind I was thinking, hrmm this is probably $ 50 – 60? Nope, an easy $ 35.
They have a galore of accessories in every color, shape, design and size in there. Going out for the night and have a specific dress or outfit you need to shop accesories? Easy. One of the things Iloved about this place was how it was laid out. Everything is COLOR COORDINATED. It’s extremely neat and organized, and I loved that.
Prices were fair too. Accessories anywhere from $ 4 to. $ 10? Funny thing though, I saw the exact same accessories in a store called Glamour in Puerto Rico. I mean it IS PR, so the prices were like $ 1 – 3 for the same bracelets, earrings and necklaces. States’ prices for ya
Lastly, I got an awesome $ 10 cell-​phone wallet which is great for nights I go out clubbing or to a bar. We all hate carrying giant purses or using a man for that shit right. This way you have your money, ID and cell all in one thing. So your drunk ass only has to remember to hold onto one thing that night :)
Overall, completely pleased with this place. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area!

The color coordinated layout is complete girl-​bait. Then you take a closer look at the merchandise and realize all it will do is add a lot of sparkly bits to area landfills. The price rating reflects the fact that this stuff costs way more than it is worth.

You are mesmerized by all the pretty colors, everything is separated by colors from black — all the colors on the rainbow and white.
The jewelry is nice. BUTTTTTT ITS EXPENSIVE! The jewelry is cheap quality. Trust me! I bought a silver bangles with fake rhinestones and I wore it once. When I wanted to wear my bangle again the rhinestones started to fall off! $ 15 for a plastic beaded necklace made in China? Save your money and go to Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe. Now they do have their clearance rack thats close to the registers, you might find some bargains there but again the jewelry is cheap quality.
The clothes are nice and very very trendy but sadly, there sizes run small. I went shopping with one of my friends who wears plus size and couldnt find anything. There clothes are very expensive for Target/​Forever21/​Walmart quality. Again you can do better at XXVI or Forever 21. I have yet to see a clearance rack for their clothes.
The employees swarm you like roaches once you enter and sometimes a little annoying asking you need any assistance. As if Im at Saks Fifth Ave looking at a Prada or Chanel bag and Im about to do a five finger discount.
This place is okay if you dont mind buying something without looking at the price tag.

Whoa, this place is enormous! Not sure how they pay their rent, though, as I when I was here on a Saturday afternoon, there were plenty of people browsing but no one seemed to be buying anything. Might be due to the «too many options = I cannot make a decision» as I have never seen this many accessories all in one place. I wasn’t able to browse for long, but if I have a desire to accessorize more, I’ll know where to come.

This store is huge! They have a great variety of things, as well…
From rings to socks, scarves, purses, clothes… it’s all there! Like many of my fellow reviewers, I am a fan of the color coding. It’s really helpful.
Plus, the store is always nice and warm in the winter. There are also chairs available for tired feet :)

Wow wow wow. There are endless rows and tables of accessories categorized by color! Prices are definitely cheap, I couldn’t find something that cost more than $ 20. A recommendation, if you are getting something with a lot of jewels, be sure to take a look to see if the jewels are all there. I picked up some infinity rings with jewels missing and it might just be shotty glue job (idk?). Anyways… cheap goods and variety is hard to find.
Charming Charlie is located right in the heart of the rio! Across the street from CPK and the movie theaters. Parking is also plentiful.

Turquoise? Cyan? Teal? Aquamarine? Celeste? Sea-​foam? Tiffany Blue?
Really, the Ultimate Crayola Box wouldn’t have as many shades of blue-​green as Charming Charlie.
Do come here if you are looking for cheap & chic accessories to complement any wardrobe and every occasion. Whether you’re planning a trip to the beach or a night out on the town, the sales associates at this location will be more than willing to point you in the right direction.
Those who are creatively crafty and string their own beads may not find this store as exciting. Many of the pieces are cute, trendy, & could probably be found as replicas from Etsy.
Young and older people can shop here. I grabbed a cute scarf, my favorite sandals, and plenty of costume jewelry. I could easily walk in with my little sister or my mother, and all of us would leave with full shopping bags.
Prices are great, as they charge much less than what a major department store would for items that shouldn’t really be over $ 15 bucks. You can even find cute headbands for a $ 1.
Unless you’re color-​blind or male, you should find the charm of this store very appealing. Trinkets, accessories, jewelry, & sales… Gotta love it!

A super large accessories store that is divinely inexpensive, charmingly kitchy and well organized by color. However, nothing offered here is really that unique.
Trendy but not a trend-​setter, if you know what I mean. For example, right now, feather fascinator hair peices are all the rage, so there are enough feathers in the store to fill a down comforter… but everything in there are still things that I could easily find at Icing or H&M or Forever 21.
However, the selection is huge, the stuff is fairly cheap, and I do love love love that they arrange everything by color (it makes finding stuff easier). Plus the store is much bigger then I thought!

It’s like I’ve died and gone to accessory heaven! Charming Charlie’s is total stimulation overload with it’s music, bright lights and wall to wall accessories but there is no way you can go in here and not find something. I love that they categorize everything but color or print so if you’re looking for something saucy like zebra print-​you have purses, scarves, earrings, necklaces, wallets right there. if you tend to be more traditional and want something like a pale pink or mauve-​again everything is right there. They have every color and the trendy prints out there and like the inventory, the clientele varies as well. You got tweens, cougars, sugar daddy’s with their 20 yr old play things, professionals, etc. My only problem was I found too much– I wonder if I can buy stock in Charming Charlie’s?

This place is like a Claire’s except it’s geared more towards females beyond their tweens and you actually want to buy stuff. My friends from the Carolina states rave about this store, so I was excited to see they’re making their way over the Mason-​Dixon. It has countless displays of jewelry, bags and other accessories clumped together not only by color but by style within that color category.
There is just so much to take in when you first walk in the store that your head literally spins. While I think the countless amount of accessories are impressive, I’m sure it makes for a difficult time organizing — so apparently, they don’t. Either they just didn’t feel like putting anything in its place, or a tornado blew through the store before I got there. But this kind of goes hand in hand with the fact that you could only find an employee up at the registers…
Overall, cute store but a complete disaster and difficult to sift through all the wreckage that is inside. Lastly, I need to just throw this out there, that you definitely get what you pay for. Just saying.
