First time going to this location. Food was top notch as expected, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious as always! However, our waiter had a very poor demeanor. He was not friendly, not helpful, brash, short on his responses and genuinely seemed like he didn’t like his job. I was seriously considering asking for another waiter. Customer service is very important to me which why I give this location 2 stars. Everything else-perfect. Would I go back, absolutely. I do believe it was an isolated incident and saw other wait staff being very respectful and friendly.

Can only speak for the bar dining experience. Service here is prompt and attentive throughout — my water never went below half. The HH deals are a great value. $ 9 for a steak burger w/fries and fresh ahi tuna cannot be beat. Steak is overpriced and too buttery for my palate but definitely recommend for HH.

Who gives Ruth’s Chris a one star review? Well, I never thought I would, but here we are… The food itself was as expected. Steaks done perfectly, my girlfriend enjoyed her lobster and all of our sides. The service though, was meh at best. Our waiter took forever to come to our table, told me they had different beer than what I had ordered and after asking if that was okay(that happens, I get it), he forgot to bring it. We each got up once during dinner to use the restroom, and both of us had the same experience… filthy bathrooms, urine on the floor around the urinals, the TP dispenser in the ladies room was empty, and the roll was just on top of the dispenser. At the end of dinner, the waiter dropped my leftovers on the floor. Before we left, we both went to use the facilities again, and there was no change. I would think for the money we spent that night, things would be better. I actually emailed them a week later and haven’t heard a think back. That was two months ago… so, a bad Unilocal review is necessary I guess.

I hadn’t had a steak in a while, so it was a real pleasure to treat my family to a first class«sizzling» steak, grilled asparagus, crab-stuffed mushrooms, and a seriously great baked potato. Steve M

Fantastic food, high level of service, and a tasteful/quiet atmosphere. I was thrilled that they opened a location at Crown and it is every bit as good as my other Ruth’s Chris experiences. –Rob

I wish there was a 0 Stars rating because that is what this place truly deserves. Restaurants have two main purposes: Good service to provide the proper experience to enjoy Good food. When neither are present, the space should be converted into a dry cleaner or phone store. Ooops, there is already one of each down the street. I’m not sure how this place keeps such a high rating, except that most people love their happy hour. This is not my first visit or first bad experience. Particulars this evening: 9:30pm on a Saturday night. Bar area at 60%, lots of empty tables near the windows, ALLNEEDED to be CLEANED. 15 minutes to get a clean table. Poor service from word one, though the apps came in about 6 minutes. Twenty(20) minutes for bread, vodka came on time, wine glasses did too, wine bottle took another 15 minutes. 40 minutes for meal, spinach cold, meat on piping hot plate was cold and over cooked. New spinach was pretty quick, replacement filet mignon was over cooked on the outside and raw on the inside. I complained to server(who I know personally) in front of manager and was assured all would be fixed. When the check came at FULLPRICE and popped a cork! I handed the check back to the server and asked for the manager to come to my table. HE should be fired for even showing up and speaking — he was so full of crap, throwing his server under the bus in seconds and not taking responsibility at all. I will NEVER step foot in there again, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER. Tomorrow I will call to hopefully speak to an intelligent manager.

I would recommend Ruth’s Chris for their Happy Hour special. They have plenty of parking spaces available(garages nearby as well as street parking). I think I’ve tried everything on their HH menu haha: the prime burger with fries, tenderloin skewer salad, crab BLT with zucchini fries, steak sandwich w/fries, seared ahi tuna, and spicy lobster. The food and drinks are all $ 9 during HH(Sun-Fri 4:30−7PM). My favorite dish is the seared ahi tuna! Very fresh and meaty! I would also recommend the prime burger and spicy lobster. Everything else was average. It’s usually busy during HH hours, so the servers aren’t always around whenever we needed them. But they were friendly and answered any questions that we had.

I can’t lie, I was always skeptical about all the RC hype because at the end of the day this is a chain restaurant. But, this place definitely exceeded steakhouse expectations! The restaurant itself is beautiful with all of the different style rooms. I came here with my best friend for our *Friendaversary* on a Friday night. I recommend everyone to make a reservation! We got sat promptly and were quickly greeted with water and some fresh bread. Our waiter was super polite and went through the entire menu with us. I was so overwhelmed with all of the options! So we started with the blue cheese & apple salad along with the crab tower. Both amazing. For entrees we both got the bone in ribeye with the blue cheese crust(SOGOOD) & got the lobster mac & brussel sprouts as our sides. Let me tell you we went all out on this meal. Everything was so phenomenal — steaks perfectly cooked, lobster mac was out of this world. Overall a wonderful experience! I can’t wait to come back :)

Ruth’s Chris Steak House is a steakhouse chain that was founded back in ’65 in NoLA, offering an extensive menu of appetizers, salads, soups, signature steaks, entrees, lunch options, HH specials, as well as beverages. A couple of friends and I came here for their HH before an event in the area, and while the place was busy, we were able to score a great table! I tried the Steak Sandwich with Fries(there was a generous amount of cubed steak within, but there wasn’t much flavor to it; the garlic aioli that was smeared on the toasted roll was minimal and probably would need an extra cup on the side); and, the Spicy Lobster(this was actually pretty tasty, as it was more creamier and sweeter and saltier, rather than ‘spicy’(no kick at all) — kind of similar to the ‘Firecracker Shrimp/Bang Bang Shrimp’ appetizer at Bonefish; I just wished instead of shredded scallions, there was a cup of rice that was served with it!). I had coke, but the soda had an off-taste to them(check them carbonation situation, RC!). Our server, Emily, was semi-attentive, mid-way being swapped to another server that was much more friendlier. Parking is plentiful in the shared plaza lot, but be cautious of the whizzing cars and sharp turns. +HH5−7PM +Spicy Lobster +off-carbonated soda +semi-friendly staff +plenty of parking in shared lot

We had a reservation for 6:30pm. It was a lovely, blistery night in October. I came here after work ready for a fancy meal. It ain’t Valentines Day but no worries. Alright cool listen up all you simps. We shut it down tonight son. UOENO it. We got two of the tamahawk ribeyes. Not only do the hills have eyes, but the ribs have eyes. I haven’t had steak for the longest time. For the longest time, whooooaaahhhooooo. I ordered the medium rare steak with collard greens. My steak was tasty, but it had more fat than a Colleen Marshall buttcheek. I’m not really into meat fat unlike all these Asian girls. Mai Win’s brother was leaving the country so the waiter suggested we send him off right. Gh they even wrote a special message in his dessert. That was a nice touch. We brought in wine, yet the corkage fee was $ 40. O-o-o-o-o-okay The whole meal was $ 400. $ 500 with the tip. Swap Yo later in the night we got to hang out with the vegetarian Berry. She’s looking good after all these years mhm.

I love steak. I love sizzling steak. And every now and then, when I feel like a really good steak, I’ll splurge at a place like Ruth’s Chris because you know what you’re going to get. How many times have you opened a magazine with a Ruth’s Chris full page ad featuring a thick, juicy, petite filet? Their Gaithersburg location is up there in ambience and class and yet, still has room for improvement. I’ve dined at RC-Gburg on two different occasions — both significant birthday celebrations. The first celebration was a party of three — the service, food, and experience rocked. If this review was based on the first experience — definitely 4.5 stars. The second time we had a party of nine and while service was attentive, either they were overwhelmed that evening or just not on their A-game. Unfortunately, the whole evening was lackluster. A few examples — 1. Not everyone ordered cocktails, in fact only 3 ordered a beverage. Two of the drinks went to the wrong person: the scotch(Black label) and bourbon(Maker’s Mark). Not really a problem, other than quizzical looks when the drinks went down, saying, «This isn’t a scotch/bourbon, is it?» 2. I ordered a bottle of Cabernet and asked that it be brought out before the dinner. After a while, it never came and had to ask when the bottle was coming. I learned that they didn’t have my selection, so I quickly ordered another bottle, a Sterling. The bottle arrived at the same time as the food, but they had to serve the wine first, while our food remained on the service trays. 3. 5 ordered a non-steak entrée: crab cakes, fish, or the vegetarian entrée. The remaining 4 ordered steak: 2 medium rare, 1 medium, 1 medium well. 3 were prepared as ordered, but one medium rare steak was overdone, which was a disappointment. To their credit and our appreciation, the manager offered another steak but we declined and were forgiving. At that point in the meal, what’s the point? Why fix something that should’ve been right the first time?(The steak was taken off the check and they did offer a free dessert.) The desserts, after-dinner drinks, coffee, and the birthday dessert were all good. I like how they take a picture of everyone and give the birthday celebrant a keepsake photo of their dinner — this pic will surely bring back memories! Usually a Unilocaler at this point in the review would write something like, «Avoid this place at all costs!» or the ever popular, «I really wanted to like this place.» But I won’t do that ;-) When we ate here the first time, it was a decent experience, the food was good and service was super. It was just unfortunate that we didn’t have a similar experience the second time. I plan to return to RC-Gaithersburg again and hope that it’ll be a better dining experience. The third time’s the charm, right?

Couldn’t be happier that Ruth’s Chris happy hour lived up to the hype. $ 8 dishes and cocktails can’t be beat! They don’t allow you to make substitutions/swaps, so I insist that someone at your table gets the crab BLT simply to try the zucchini fries(the sammy is good too tho!). You can’t go wrong here, except if you arrive late and miss out on the self-seating.

Although the outside lacks the«oomph» factor from other Ruth Chris branches, this place does not disappoint on their interior. It is a fairly new establishment and the linens and furniture shows that. This review is on the happy hour, which made me come and try the place out. I was raised thinking that Ruth Chris was an upscale restaurant that only the wealthy can come and try. I was shocked to learn that the Happy Hour menu was VERY reasonable. So reasonable that I was pondering making this my regular HH spot for the Crown area. I ended up ordering 3 of the Gin and Tonics that were regularly prices at 13, but for HH, 8. Almost everything on the HH menu is 8. The food is a steal for the price and makes it a good place to come to for a HH date or even hanging out with friends. On a Tuesday it was quit full around 5:30 to 6PM so do arrive early. It opens at 4:30, when the regular dining hall opens at 5PM. The atmosphere, the smell of the food, the cocktails, and my overall experience deserves 5 stars.

I visited Ruth Chris/Downtown Crown location first time(7÷6÷15). Suggested by a friend who joined me. We had a delightful time. The cosmopolitan served cold, strong & poured in front of U(cool). The«prime burger w/fries» a substantial beef patty w/cheese on soft buttery bun, lettuce, tomato, onion served on the side. My burger was prepared medium. Arrived hot, juicy perfectly cooked. Veggies fresh & crisp. Good customer service. Great atmosphere-bar area in addition to seating @bar, table seating also available w/wait staff service. We arrived about 4:40pm by 5pm bar was really busy. We left just After 6pm-standing room only. Mind U this was a Monday. Popular place indeed w/Delicious burgers.

When you think of Ruth’s Chris, massive hunks of meat and the scent of melty toasted butter comes to mind. The petite filet and ribeye that I tried were expertly cooked to maximize the tenderness of each bite. Certainly satisfying, but one item on the table took me by surprise: the Lobster Mac and Cheese. I’ve had this pasta on a few occasions elsewhere, and honestly you wouldn’t think it’s too difficult to prepare… After all, it’s essentially mac and cheese glorified with some lobster, right? But how do you prevent the heavy cheese from overwhelming the lobster? How do you make sure the sauce doesn’t separate into an oily greasy mess after sitting on the table for 10 mins while everyone’s busy digging into their steak? Ruth’s Chris has figured out the secret. Each noodle was evenly coated with a smooth, slightly cheesy sauce. The lobster chunks were scattered on top, and topped with a light layer of cheese just to bring it all together. I recommend mixing the entire dish before digging in. However, a word of warning, if you’re looking for an extremely thick and creamy cheese sauce, you won’t find that here. The sauce is somewhat lighter than you’d expect, but it works out perfectly. Saving space for dessert is a struggle, but there’s always room for liquid dessert and that came in the form of a Blackberry Sidecar. Cognac and blackberries for the win.

I got a chance to check out HH(Happy Hour) last night and it definitely met my expectations. Sun-Fri, 430−7pm, $ 8 food, $ 8 cocktails, $ 4 beer. Tried the Seared Ahi Tuna and Spicy Lobster. Both were really good and I would definitely order again. That is, after I try everything else on the menu!(Prime Burger w Fries, Crab BLT w Zucchini Fries, Steak Sandwich w Fries, etc.) The cocktails were nothing special. Well made, as expected. But for $ 8, this isn’t much of a deal, if ya know what I mean. The real deal here is obviously with the food. Also, the only $ 4 beer they have is Bud light. Weak! I really wish they included some of their tap selections. Will definitely be back, sooner rather than later. Please add some more beers!

Previously, I visited Ruth Chris a few days after their opening. Clearly they did not have their act together. Today, I tried most of their happy hour menu and found that the seasoning was spot on. The seared ahi tuna was no longer overseasoned, the steak sandwich was cooked according to what I requested(a perfect medium rare), and the fries were crispy. I must say that at $ 8 for each entrée menu and drinks at HH, Ruth Chris is the best place for HH in gaithersburg. Great job in turning things around! I will return.

I agree with Jason C review, that for the money($ 8 select food and drink specials) portion size, and value, best happy hour in G’burg. Get here early as the bar area gets packed! Manhattans were tasty and very strong, steak sandwich was excellent(so tender) and very filling, ahi tuna had a kick and so good, spicy lobster(tastes like bang bang shrimp to me) was ok, and crab blt sandwich was quite good too with delicious zucchini fries. It’s a meal in itself(huge portion). Next time, I’m going to come here, sit at the bar, and order a nice juicy burger with a cold brew, all for $ 12 during hh. Will be back for dinner too. So happy I don’t have to trek it to DC, Bethesda, or even North Bethesda for great steaks.

I came here for happy hour with a friend and had a great time! The staff was attentive & there was plenty of seating. I had the happy hour wine, ahi tuna and the lobster. It was all delicious! My friend and I shut the place down. :) So glad that a Ruth Chris is now in Gaithersburg!

Nice new location with ample parking and complimentary valet. They have a great bar area with a nice happy hour menu and specials. We had a group of 7. We ordered a good mix of appetizers. We had Ahi Tuna, crab stuffed mushrooms, Veal Osso Buco Ravioli, and spicy lobster. Everything was very good. They have a great menu and had some special selections to offer as well. I chose the bone in filet from the special selections. For sides we ordered creamed spinach, lobster mac and cheese, and asparagus. My steak was very good, all the sides were enjoyable. I was surprised by the asparagus. It was steamed… thats it. No seasoning or anything. I still liked it but I was caught off guard by the lack of anything other than natural asparagus. They had a nice wine list. We ordered Joseph Phelps, Cakebread, Silver Oak, and a really nice Italian, Antinori Tignanello. The service was top notch. They took very good care of us. Part of why you are paying a premium is for the experience. We definitely got our moneys worth.
