I have been to this location in Downtown Crown multiple times and the food and service has always been consistent. The menu has a lot of variety and the burgers are tasty. I ordered the Classic Smash with a side of haystack onions this trip and I would choose a different burger next time. I have had the Truffle Mushroom, and Avocado Club before, which I found to be better than the Classic. The Classic was a good burger but it had nothing special about it. I would rather order one of the more unique options if I come here. The side onions are my favorite. They are super thin and crisp, making them different than a lot of other burger places.

Was in the mood for a nice quality burger for lunch, so I decided to stop pass here & glad I did. The staff is very nice & polite, I’ll be coming back in the near future. It’s a little pricy but it is located in crown plaza where it a very rich feeling in this shopping center. There’s even Ruth Chris steak in walking distance lol

Had lunch here recently and the crispy chicken sandwich was delicious but the real surprise was the customer service, the employees seem to really like their jobs and it shows in the excellent customer service they give. I will definitely be returning!

Attention Manager. Get your location’s act together. You cannot serve any customers when one has to wait over 30 mins just to order during lunch time! The cashier was inattentive and slow. Unfortunately, I was ticked off after 31 mins and left the place with not a chance to try anything.

The food is good, but I want to gush about the customer service. Errors happen. I get that. It’s all about how a restaurant responds. Smash burger did it right. My take out order was messed up. The receipt was correct, but the food in the bag wasn’t. I called the restaurant and asked what they could do. I was offered a free replacement burger. I decided to press my luck and explained that I didn’t want to drive 15 minutes back to the store. The manager was very nice and offered to provide the entire meal again for free later in the week. That was two burgers and fries, even though only one burger was incorrect originally. I just picked up the replacement order with no issues. Great customer service.

Burger was pretty tasty, but there were some problems. The chipotle roll was good, but the roll to meat ratio was off for me. Smash fries were way too oily; there was a pool at the bottom of the container. Onion rings were too thin and dry so it really just tasted like the coating. It wasn’t the worst burger I’ve ever had, but with all the similar options around I don’t think I’ll be back.

I will not come here again. The food was underwhelming. I don´t like it when my burger does not ooze oil all over the parchment paper. I don´t like it when my burger does not little the brown paper bag with grease stain. Smashburger is a fast-casual burger joint that followed the business model of Chipotle. They deliver a promise of food made with integrity with the highest quality of ingredients. Blah, blah, blah. Post a picture of you eating one of their burger with the hashtag SMASH and get a free order of fries next time… blah. I don´t care to do your advertisement for you so I will write your 60th Unilocal review, instead. The biggest takeaway from this place was the ensuing argument I had here with my friend. My friend swore that Smashburger as the first fast-casual burger joint. I staunchly disagreed and rebuttal Chick Fil-A. When you think of fast-casual, you think of a nicer place where you can sit down with your family or friends and expect to pay 8+ for a meal… which fits the exact bill of Chick Fil-A. People associate fast food places with the underclass of society. For example, would you expect a white family with a median income of 80k to dine inside a McDonalds. NAWWWWW. They would; however, dine at a Chik Fil-A after their daughter´s soccer game or son´s piccolo recital or even after a church outing on a Sunday(if possible). During lunch hour, white collar coworkers and fellow millennials would carry out food from Chik Fil-A. They would never carry out food from McDonalds or Taco Bell or Wendy´s. We still argue about whether Chick Fil-A is fast casual or not. Feel free to compliment me and tell me what you think.

My first time eating here was, meh. I had the ‘spicy jalapeño baja’ burger’ w/smashfries as a side and a Oreo milkshake. 1. The burger was NOT spicy at all, even though it did come with a good handful of fresh jalapenos w/the seeds still intact, it was not spicy… at all. I guess maybe because the other ingredients in the burger overwhelmed it. I love me some spicy food I guess I’m immune to the american catering spice. The patty tasted like it barely had any seasoning on it, so it kind of taste bland, good thing their were other ingredients to overcome it. The eggbun was good though, felt like that was the best part of the burger. 2. The smashfries were damn delicious! That rosemary ingredient sprinkled on top whilst also being cooked in was heaven. The serving size for a large looked like a medium, them again their fries are small compared to any other joint(McDonalds, Checkers, Wendy’s, etc.). 3. The Oreo Milkshake had a hint of Oreo and the rest was ice cream. Not very thick as a milkshake should be like from Ted Bulletins or Chick-Fil-A. Overall, fresh ingredients all around. This would not be my first place to go to if I’m craving a burger. If i’m around the area, sure… why not.

Burger was decent, a bit too salty for me and I love salt/pepper. Also asked for additional toppings but felt slighted… Except for an overload of onions. Not my favorite burger, but good enough to finish with added ketchup. Regular size burger was pretty large, good size and filling. I was really hungry. Fries are okay. Again they are a bit over salted and also have another interesting spice added… Different then what I expected and I haven’t decided if I like them or not. Certainly not a love, and I love fries. The fries are skinny and crispy. If you’re dying for an amazing burger this isn’t the place, but it will certainly help your craving for $ 10 and be accompanied by quick and polite service.

For a new restaurant or location, the staff should be more welcoming to encourage a customer to return . But foods is okay

I went here to meet with friends, and was not very impressed. The avocado in the the club was well hidden, and I expected a lot more Maillard savor from the smashing. I was not asked how I wanted it cooked, which suggests the meat was preground and would not be safe unless cooked to at least medium well. And it had little taste or juiciness. The onion straws were crisp and had good onion taste, but they were heavily salted and I used up two napkins wiping the grease off my fingers. All in all pretty disappointing given their name. If you can’t do better than a Whopper, why bother?

Finally a place near home that has FRIEDPICKLES!!! Now, if you know me, you know you can tell me to jump and I’ll jump if you wave a good portion of fried pickles in front of me. It’s my kryptonite. The pickles here are nicely fried, although a bit too salty in my opinion but good crunch. I also ordered the smash fries which were thin and crispy, but some of them were over-fried so they were a tad bit too chewy. The mushroom swiss burger was cooked and placed on an egg bun which was yummy and soft, but I generally prefer my burgers medium as opposed to well so that’s bummer. Otherwise it was a little bit on the bland side, could of used some more sauce… if there was any. Fried pickles… that’s all I have to say.

3 ½ stars. Compare to BGR Burger joint, Smashburger is a distant second imo. You don’t have an option on how the burger is cooked(all well done) and they smash the patty when cooking. The result is a very thin beef patty(I can see why have two patty option). I get capital burger as well as the truffle mushroom Swiss burger, which are the tastiest options and you can also order them with beef or a very, very thin chicken breast. I used to really like their smash fries but lately they are just coated heavily in oil and are not that crispy. I do like their fried pickles though! Their Cobb salad is quite filling and tasted good. Ditto their milkshakes. Like their Oreo milkshake. It’s a good option for burgers if you are dining at Crown area, even though BGR is located at Washingtonian Center, just a two minute drive away.

This is fairly new place in the heart of newly constructed Downtown Crown, near Rio/Washingtonian center. It’s a great place for family and friends with bold & hip décor — a good deal of booth and table seating. Ordering at the counter is quick and easy, and the food comes out fairly quickly(i.e. 10 – 15 minutes max?). Bf/I weren’t particularly hungry so we just ordered one burger — the truffle mushroom swiss smashburger, and the smashfries: thin, shoestring fries tossed in olive oil, rosemary and garlic! The burger is superrrr decadent — rich, gooey cheese mixed with creamy mayo, hints of savory truffle, and lots of thinly sliced mushrooms… pretty much a recipe for the best kind of food coma… if you’re here with a friend or significant other, it might be a good idea to share this burger unless you want to be put in sleepy stupor and dragged/carried out. :P The fries are aaaamazing — fresh, herbally, and not too heavy. It’s really easy to idly nom of them without realizing how much you’ve eaten… until they’re gone :(We came with a group of friends, and everyone else enjoyed their meals as well! Needless to say, Smashburger is a smashin’ hit on my burger list C:

Taste good with the first bite, but the burger is the greasiest of all the upscale burger joints I’ve tried! Not sure it’s a burger I can eat regularly without worrying about a heart attack! I got the truffle Swiss burger. Again it’s tasty, just very greasy. Same with the haystack onion rings, literally soaked in oil. I still like Bobby’s better. Or even Five Guys for a basic burger.

I was very impressed with both the service and the food of this Smashburger. I had coupons for a free burger with the purchase of a drink and fries: an offer I could not resist. I invited my mother-in-law and brother-in-law as well. Now I don’t really remember the orders, but I’ll try. My mother-in-law had the truffle mushroom burger, my brother-in-law and I had variations of a jalapeño burger(he had beef and I had crispy chicken) and BP ordered a make your own type with grilled chicken. The fries are great, but the Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo fries are not worth the hype. I love all the customization options here… I can even get a grilled chicken burger bowl for a healthier option… Another thing to mention is how I really like the parking garage supporting the plaza. The spots are spacious and there are even charging stations for electric vehicles.

I finally got here for lunch after hearing talk about it at work. The restaurant is brand new, so the place was very clean and up-to-date. Service was pretty slow. I even ended up finishing my entire milkshake and still waited longer for my food. Maybe because it was lunchtime? I can understand that. It might be a good idea to give customers their shakes AFTER their food so it doesn’t melt or they won’t be stupid and drink it all like me. I was pretty much too full to eat after that. I ordered the Avocado Club Chicken, a side of fried pickles and a Salted Caramel milkshake. The chicken sandwich came with avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato, ranch and mayo on a multi-grain bun. I enjoyed it, but I wasn’t expecting my chicken to be smashed so thinly.(About the thickness of a piece of cardboard.) I now know why it’s called Smashburger. Duh. I may return… maybe… if my coworkers just want to go again for lunch. But I don’t plan to recommend it. I always say, try it for yourself. You may like it or you may not.

The Organic Arugula, Truffle Mushroom & Swiss Burger is my favorite burger at Smashburger. You can’t beat the grilled mushrooms and organic arugula along with the truffle mayo. It is delicious and I will be back often for this. They have a big parking garage located next to the restaurant, so parking is not a big deal. Definitely get the fried pickles or their Smashfries as your side items
