This bakery never disappoints, always consistent in taste and customer service. I can’t wait to try their new cupcake flavors every time I come in. Always better than the last. High quality and theY don’t skimp. Price is reasonable for what you get and I would pay more. All employees who have helped me are always so nice. Great place! Highly recommend.

We could not be more pleased with the design and taste of our son’s 3^rd birthday cake. We were looking for The Good Dinosaur theme and it was captured to a tee. The cake was moist and flavorful! Everyone asked about the baker and commented about its cuteness. Desta and her team are bar none!!! …her cupcakes are deeeelish also!!! Thank youuu

Thank you! I’m so grateful for discovering ‘Something Sweet Bakery’ and even more elated by their work and taste of the cake. I was refereed to Desta by an events company that I was working with for my brother and sister-​in-​laws baby shower.
I live in San Francisco and the shower was going to take place in Sacramento. I had to do everything through the phone and email, I let Desta know it was a Alice in Wonderland theme, sent her a few pics of cakes I liked and let her know I didn’t want fondant. Desta, sent me a sketch of the cake and said she could do buttercream, the results… one of the most beautiful cakes, I have ever seen, my sister-​in-​law and the guests didn’t want to cut into the cake, they were blown away and the taste was sensational.
I will definitely use ‘Something Sweet Bakery’ for any cakes I need even though I live in San Francisco. Thank you for making my brother and sister-​in-​laws Alice in Wonderland baby shower cake and helping us create a memorable day.

I have had the opportunity to try the cupcakes on two occasions. Once a couple boxes were brought to work for someone’s birthday. I tried a lemon cupcake it was phenomenal. The second time was a Saturday when my mom and I were checking out Galt, the homes in the area and having lunch. At the end of our time together we stopped at Something Sweet Bakery; unfortunately it was past 3pm and they were closed. Much to our surprise, an employee opened the door and let us in. We each bought 3 cupcakes. What a sweet girl, wish I could remember her name; kudos to her for her exceptional customer service, not just letting us in but her demeanor and helpfulness. She was most pleasant even when we were cutting into her «closing» time. Her can do attitude should be praised. The cupcakes I chose were: one lemon, one chocolate caramel sea salt (I believe) and one strawberry cheesecake. They were all good. I thought lemon would be my favorite but I was not disappointed by any of them. I will return again and again but will need to watch it or I will develop a cupcake top (muffin top). Thank you!

Desta provided wedding cake and dessert bar for our daughters wedding at Delta Diamond Farm on 9−12−15 and we are just speechless! Everything was so delicious and our guests were delighted with the flavors and variety! We highly recommend Something Sweet!
And as if that wasn’t enough, they will make a replica of the top tier for free on their one year anniversary because like Desta said «one year old cake is gross!» This is so incredibly special because the bride and groom were so busy, they weren’t able to enjoy any of the cake… now they do!

So disappointed with this place. My daughter was having her 7^th birthday and my husband called a few weeks in advance to see if they could do a custom Pokemon cake (her favorite). The woman instructed us to go in 2 days before the event and show her a picture. We did EXACTLY that! I went in when they opened, 2 days before the party. I was told to come back in 2 hours when the decorator was there. I returned 2 hours later. The decorator explained that they got «unexpectedly busy» that week due to wedding and «didn’t have time» to make a cake for my daughters birthday. I stood there in awe. I reminded her that we had called weeks ago and they had given us specific instruction on what to do. Specifically that they told us to give then 2 days notice! She half ass apologized. I had no cake for my daughters special day. Will never go back to this place. That’s not how you do business.

Love love love! Came here for a wedding cake. The tasting was awesome, great set up. You got everything and were allowed to mix and match as we wanted. We went to 4 bakery taste tests. Something Sweet was BY FAR the best tasting, and they turned out to be the cheapest too! My cake was beautiful, exactly what I wanted! I wanted the lace on my dress incorporated into the cake and with my one crappy picture they hand painted the lace design on the cake and it looked fabulous!
I don’t even live near Galt, but I come here for cupcakes still. Their cake is probably the best I’ve had in my life. I can’t speak highly enough about Something Sweet.

Something Sweet Bakery made my wedding cake and it not only looked amazing but also had rave reviews by my guests! The best part was they let you design the flavors based on what you like, not a pre-​determined set to chose from! I highly recommend they be the next cake for your special event!

Their cupcakes are AMAZING! I walked in and got 18 cupcakes, one of every flavor they had. & their cakes are beautiful!

The best cupcakes EVER! Their chocolate is about the best I have ever had and their other flavors are pretty amazing too! But just as sweet as their cupcakes are the bakers and people who ring you up when you get these treats to take home! Very, very high quality. Very, very delicious. Very, very happy customer. I loved my wedding cake from Something Sweet!
The ordering process is easy. Sit down with the baker and sample about a dozen flavors of cake and filling each… the combinations are endless. We went with Pink champagne cake with a blueberry compote and cream cheese filling for the first layer, chocolate with coconut cream for the top layers. They worked with my florist to set up the fresh flowers I wanted on top. The best part is it includes a replica of my top layer on my first anniversary!
I’m not a big fan of sweets to start with, and usually will pass on cake because I find it to be dry and overly sweet. However, my wedding cake was moist and delicious! We got several compliments from the guests. I plan on using them in the future for any special occasions.

Desta and her staff were simply amazing! They pulled together every single detail and vision I had! Really brought to life my dream wedding cake! I can not thank you enough Desta! She even added a sweet little Raider Shield hidden in our cake! It was a memory on how my husband and I met! She went above and beyond what was expected. The highlight was the cake tasting! She pulls out all the stops and wants to make sure you Taste everything! Come with an empty stomach! I love that she offers not just cakes. She does cake pops, tarts, cookies etc. It is endless! I adore Desta and thank you again!

Looking for a wedding cake I found something sweet on Unilocal and I’m so glad I did! Made an appointment for a cake tasting and was super easy to do! Came in for that tasting and was blown away! Desta is so nice helpful down to earth and professional! We made our own cake flavors at the tasting she had so much to chose from and it was all fresh and so yummy! We finally decided on a lemon cake with cheesecake and blueberry filling (my favorite) and a pink champagne cake with vanilla and fresh strawberry filling. Both so good and not to mention how beautiful it looked! Thank you so much desta! I highly recommend this bakery! Ps when you go try the lemon bars! They are to die for!

At a bridal show over a year ago, I met Desta and Something Sweet! From the beginning Desta was the sweetest and very friendly. I instantly set up a tasting for the wedding cake for my wedding. My husband and I loved all of the samples and the one-​on-​one attention. We ended up with a two-​tier cake and a candy bar, which everyone loved, especially the Oreo Truffles! The cake ended up only being for us, and took us two weeks to eat it with family and friends, and it was still moist and delicious on that last bite! I highly recommend Something Sweet. This bakery is now the favorite place to go for weddings and birthdays cakes and treats for my friends and family.

AMAZING cupcakes. This is my go to place when I am craving something sweet or when I want to send my coworkers and friends into dessert heaven. I have been here on multiple occasions, and I have not been let down. Their staff has been so friendly each time I have visited. It seems like they just keep producing better treats each time.
My friends, family, and coworkers all are amazed by the presentation of the cupcakes, dolloped with the perfect ratio of frosting. But the taste is truly up to par, if not better, with presentation. These cupcakes have been hits at potlucks and parties. Absolutely delicious and moist.
Their cupcake flavors rotate every now and then, and I still have not been able to try them all.
My favorites: Oreo cookie, red velvet with cream cheese frosting, Snickers, strawberry filled… they all may seem like the generic flavors, but you will not be disappointed!
On my to-​try list: apple pie and smore’s cupcakes
Tip: do not wait until later in the day to stop by and pick up treats. They run out of flavors faster than you think! They also have a few assorted dessert bars and treats aside from cupcakes.
One day, I hope they will be around to design my wedding cake and cupcakes. One day…

My wife and I think of ourselves as cupcake connoisseurs and always make it a point to try new cupcakes wherever we go, whether they are to be found at the local grocers or in a specialty shop, thus we were especially surprised when we came upon Something Sweet Bakery. They keep a fabulous variety of cupcakes on hand, but the best thing about them is the taste. Too often cupcakes at other places tend to have similar flavors that all blend in, but not so at Something Sweet. If you buy a dozen different cupcakes, you will be able to bite into a dozen different delicious flavors. From Coconut Cream Pie to Rocky Road, each will offer a unique gastronomical delight.
Cupcakes are not their only creation either. After viewing some of the cakes they had made, we started to make special requests for cakes and have been thrilled with the results. The first we requested was for a wine & cheese tasting we had scheduled and the cake they created looked elegant and wound up being the centerpiece of the event and we were tickled at how many people kept taking pictures of it. Next we asked for a special cake for a St. Patrick’s Day party we attended and asked if it could be flavored like an Irish Car Bomb and they were excited to try out that unique flavoring. The best part was that everyone loved the taste, but the cake looked fantastic too. The latest was a dragon created for a friend’s birthday. (Pictures are posted.)
The staff is friendly and quite helpful if you are not certain what you want, but they’ll also listen and they love trying out new ideas if possible and the prices are very reasonable for what you receive. If you want something that is a cut above the rest, something that is artistic and creative, something that will impress your guests, you will not go wrong in allowing the talented staff at Something Sweet Bakery to create a fun birthday cake, the perfect centerpiece for your next soirée, or just a great tasting snack for you to enjoy on your own.
