So I put together this spaghetti dinner raffle thingy at UOP for the political science honor society and asked local buisnesses if they would like to donate food, or other gifts for the raffle. This buisness was soooo generous. They donated cakes for our event, and even customized one of the cakes with our groups logo and colors! Needless to say the cakes were the best I have ever had. This is saying a lot because I am a major sweet fan. The orange cake was moist, and had orange peels or something in it. The best by far. If your in the neighborhood, give this place a try. I would definitely go back for birthdays, events and the like.

3 Stars. On my last bicycle ride to Galt and it’s environs, I made a promise to myself to try Galt Frostie(CHECK. ), and Sweet Creations Bakery for dessert! On my last visit(without any consumption), I found out that a customer can taste-test various refrigeratd cakes sliced in approximately 4″ x 4″ portions… just enough for a sit-down dessert. When I entered Sweet Creations today… I found out that the Tres Leches Cake served in one-person portions was not ready yet… The owner, Charlene, assured me that the single portion Tres Leches would be ready in five minutes. I assured her that I’ll be back after shooting some more digital pics of Sweet Creations and some of the other businesses around the neighborhood. As I was taking pictures that had storefronts on the same block where Sweet Creations was situated… an old man came up and gruffly asked me why the f*** I was taking pictures of signs and such. As he offered hishand for a handshake, you could tell this was his way of saying hi! Had me going for a minute, though! Well… this old man actually owned the building… he actually owned the building three different times over three decades! I guaranteed to him that the next time he sold it would be very profitable. Among the topics we discussed was Sweet Creations, the business. He said that on a weekend… Charlene and her crew sends out 20 to 25 cakes for Weddings, Special Events, and such. Quite a popular place! Let’s get down to the consumption… I had my reservations about trying out Sweet Creations version of Tres Leches Cake($ 4). The Cake should be soaking in the Tres Leches Milk for hours, if not overnight(along with Rum, if appropriate). The Tres Leches Cake was a two layer yellow cake layered and separated by Whipped Cream with quite a few slices of fresh Strawberries thrown on the top. I was right probably not to try out the Tres Leches today. The bottom layer of Yellow Cake was definitely not soaked enough with the Tres Leches Milk. But the Cake, itself, was of the right consistency… Along with the Whipped Cream and Strawberries… I was satisfied. But, you could say this turned out to be more of a Strawberry Shortcake, rather than a Tres Leches Cake topped with Strawberries. Suggestion for Sweet Creations… You’ve got to stop me(or anyone else) from purchasing something that is not really prepared correctly, like what happened today. If you lose a sale… FINE! But you would know anything you sell would have been prepared and set-up correctly for the customer without any reservations. It might hurt my feelings… and my stomach… but it’s for my own good! Next trip… try the Double Chocolate Cake… looked good from my vantage point! How much for a whole cake? Tres Leches(double layer) 8″ — $ 20 NY Style Cheesecake 9″ — $ 20 Chocolate Decadence Cake 8″ double layer — $ 18
