Dined here right before Christmas on a rainy weeknight and it was completely empty. Regardless, we really liked the cuisine. Had the tomato bisque and enjoyed it. The bacon with cheese and crabby melt sandwiches where very good. Sweet potato fries were also a real treat. Something very different rather than going to a regular burger, pizza or sub joint. Atmosphere was comfortable and warm but a couple of TVs and Wifi would help. Shotgun style dining area is a handicap. We will definitely go back to try some of the other sandwiches.

Came in today with the family and ordered the crabby, two Phillies and a kids meal. 1 star for the crabby, 3 for the Philly but 5 stars for the service, atmosphere and kid friendly nature. I suggest keeping it simple with their classic.

Stopped here while out shopping and needed a snack. I order the crab something melt. It had very little crab meat and to much cheese. Their were other sandwiches that sounded interesting, probably won’t return though.

It’s been 14-months since I last visited the Grilled Cheese & Co. The Dau wanted to try out their sandwiches so off we went. This was a Monday evening around 5:30 to 6PM. The establishment was empty when we arrived. The Dau had the Cordon Blu and I had the standard Cheese & Ham. Both sandwiches were grilled well, had a nice crunch sound when you bit into them and they were hot, hot, hot. Nothing was truly special about the sandwiches but this was good comfort food. While we were there only three other customers came in. So the place was quiet. Overall this was a 4-star visit and I would say that some things have changed in my 14-month absence.

This place has lots of different grilled cheeses. I wish they had some more vegetarian options especially because grilled cheese is more of a vegetarian thing. So I only had either the regular grilled cheese or the veggie one. I got the veggie one and I thought it was pretty good. Very good but kind of pricey. I would go again.

It was just… Ok. Nothing to really rave about. I’m from Cincinnati and we have a place called Tom & Chee that totally set the bar way too high apparently. Super nice employees and clean atmosphere.

Tried this place for the first time today. The sandwich is huge and the fries came in a cup(medium sized fountain drink size). It’s more than enough food to split and I couldn’t even finish it all by myself. The sweet potato fries were well seasoned and the grilled cheese(the Sweet Caroline) was good, but it needed more pulled pork in it. I’ll definitely go back and try something else, but I’ll probably wait for colder weather to go so I can try the soup.

Bottom Line: Fancy grilled cheese that satisfies cravings for comfort food. Grilled cheese is always delicious and the Grilled Cheese & Co. takes those warm, ooey, gooey sandwiches up a few notches. Here is what I really like about this quick food eatery located in The Village at Waugh Chapel(anchored by Safeway, not to be confused by the adjacent shopping center anchored by Wegmans): — Delicious, warm sandwiches and perfectly crisp fries. — The signature crabby melt is so decadent. It’s like eating a crab dip sandwich. — The Cordon Bleu is also good and I found the ratio of cheese, ham, chicken and mustard to be on point. — The décor is so cute here with wainscoting, schoolhouse pendant lighting and antique looking tables. — The staff was friendly. — Diet Coke fountain soda always makes me a happy diner. I thought the prices here were somewhere between fair and a tad pricey. Sandwiches were around $ 8, I think.

I’ve eaten here quite a few times. I was really into this place when it first opened. Everything is sold individually so the ticket adds up quick. It’s amazingly pricy for a grilled cheese place. I find myself going less frequently, I’m sure I’ll pass altogether at some point. Buffalo chicken: waaaay to much blue cheese. I couldn’t taste much else. I ended up trying to scrape a lot of it off. Ordered it one other time with light blue cheese, was pretty decent that way . Crabby melt: probably my favorite but I don’t order it anymore. Half a sandwich is perfect but trying to finish off a whole one is difficult. It’s just too much, and not in a good way. It’s basically just crab dip between bread. Unless you have someone to split this with, it’s just gross by the last bite. BCT: consistently good. Bacon, cheddar, tomato. Not easy to screw up. Chicken cordon blue: meh. It was okay. Too much mustard. It was dripping out the sides. The desert one, brie and raspberries, chocolate: something like that, forgot what is called. It’s good. Very yummy, but similar to the crab dip one it’s just seriously gross by the end. Split it or forget it. Smashed meatball: I liked this one for a while then I got one that had freezer burn tasting meatballs and I got turned off on it. Haven’t ordered it since. It’s an okay place, but expensive for what you get. The fries taste like oil. I don’t get those anymore. My kids like them though. I wish sandwiches could be bought by the half. I might go back more often.

Wanted to love this place but it was just pretty ok. Staff was super friendly and sincere, place was clean and tidy. Prices very reasonable. We tried the blue ox and chicken cordon bleu sandwiches and the signature salad. Over kill on the blue cheese on both the salad and the blue ox, wowza. Cordon blue was our favorite of the 3, but something about the size and texture of the chicken pieces just weren’t what we expected I guess. It was tender but almost too soft? Cheese was plentiful and happily gooey tho. Would give it another try.

Usually don’t eat bread thats toasted but chic-a-fila was packed. So I went across the street and checked this place out. I got the meatball sandwich w/fries. I’m telling you the Crunch was real! All you heard as I was in my car eating was the lovely sound of crunching bread and the flavors were great. Super cheesy, great for a quick lunch, and not pricey. I went to the one in Waugh chapel by Robert Andrews day spa & salon

Casual food. Staff is friendly and service is good. I got a sweet Caroline which is basically BBQ + grilled cheese. Tastes good! Meat is not dry, and you can taste both BBQ sauce and cheese — neither overpowers the other. Sandwich took just under 10min. Bread was crunchy, not soggy. Also grabbed a Blondie which was good(‘home’made instead of factory made). $ 8 for the grilled cheese, $ 2 for the Blondie. They DO have a military discount as well.

Lordy lordy, why is this so salty?! It was ok enough, I guess. But they were out of certain cheeses and all french fries!

Maybe it’s just me, but if you’re going to have a restaurant named«Grilled Cheese & Company,» and charge $ 7 plus for it, it should literally be the best darn grilled cheese you’ve ever eaten. Well the one I had, wasn’t. I ordered the ham and cheese grilled cheese with a small side of chicken noodle soup. I didn’t realized I could’ve chosen Swiss cheese instead of cheddar because the cashier never mentioned it. Oh well. I had a short wait time for my food to be prepared and I was out the door in no time. I really wanted to be blown away by the sandwich, but it wasn’t impressive. It was nice and crunchy and very cheesy but it was a bit salty and just average. The chicken noodle soup was probably the worst chicken noodle soup I’ve ever eaten. I had to add a few spices to doctor it up. The noodles were flat, wide and thick… unlike any noodle I’ve ever seen. The chicken pieces were far, few and between. I’m not a big Campbell’s condensed chicken noodle soup kind of chick, but that would’ve been better than this. The concept is cool. Several options of grilled cheese sandwiches that include several selections to place inside the sandwich(tuna, crab, bar b cue chicken, ham etc.) with salads, soups and regular or sweet potato fries, but it’s just not a spectacular sandwich. If I’m paying $ 11 for a grilled cheese and small soup, I expect better. I may give it another try, but it’s no longer high on my list of places to visit in the near future.

I ordered«The Philly» with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was/is good but i cant help but feel its missing something. To have fire roasted peppers and onions, it tastes pretty bland to me. It needs a kick. I would recommend chipotle sauce or some sauce to kick the flavor profile up a notch. The sweet potato fries are tasty but nothing to write home about. For everything to be al a carte and pay $ 8 for a grilled cheese, it needs to be more memorable. I will come back again to try a different sandwich. If its not amazing, it’ll probably be my last visit. The staff was friendly. Greeted me upon arrival.

I came in for a bit of comfort food on a cold, wet, rainy day. I intended on getting a standard grilled cheese, but was persuaded to try the crab meat grilled cheese instead after approaching the counter and looking a bit perplexed by the options. By the end of my email, I wished I had just stuck with my gut. The crabby version was good, but not me… too rich and too cheesy. In fact, it was so cheesy, you could hardly taste the crab. It was like having a crab dip with more dip on slammed between two pieces of toast. Some may love it, but not for me at all. Still, I love the concept and the service was tops. I will definitely come back and try it again… after I hit goal weight, of course. I don’t even want to know how many calories are in this thing!

Great grilled cheese sandwiches. Not the norm with thin bread & barely any cheese no sir! These grilled cheese sandwiches are on quality bread with a variety of cheeses like Havarti & Swiss to name a few. I had the tomato basil soup last time, don’t know if I’ll get it again although it was pretty good. Great cookies at the register too! Oh yea, u can’t beat Al Green playin in the background.

Since firehouse subs was closed, we decided to try Grilled Cheese and Co. Customer service was good and had our order taken in a couple minutes. For 3 sandwiches, 1 drink, and 1 fry, it came to $ 30. I would say the price was a little high, but ok. The only issue I had was the Blue Ox sandwich. It had a very unnoticeable amount of roast beef and an overly large heaping of blue cheese all over the sandwich. It made it inedible. Meanwhile, my wife had a simple ham and cheese, which contained several layers of ham. Go with the classic grilled cheese or ham and cheese. Stay away from the blue ox.

Bottom Line: Very good and unique grilled cheese sandwiches but a little overpriced for what it is. The sandwiches themselves have some interesting combinations to include seasonal options such as the Thanksgiving themed«Gobbler». Small prep considerations like chopping the tomatoes vice slicing them makes a big difference in the ability to enjoy the sandwich without making a total mess of yourself. As would be expected the selection of breads and cheeses seem varied and high quality. The shoe string fries were addictive and they stock malt vinegar and old bay for them, always a bonus. On a non-food side of the review the restaurant was exceptionally clean, the staff were very polite and efficient and the parking, while mildly hectic by merit of being in Waugh Chapel was ample and easy to find.

Came in for lunch today. Had my 3 kids with me. Got 3 kids meals all with organic milk and a bag of kettle chips. Grilled cheese sandwiches were half a sandwich. Perfectly done grilled cheese. Smashed meatball sandwich. WOW. Amazing taste. Great combination of sauce and cheese. Meatballs were tasty also. This was a winner and I will definitely get this again and again. Grilled ham and cheese. Another perfect sandwich. Cheesy. Great slices of ham. Just perfect. Both of the adult sandwiches came with shoestring fries. Portion was more than enough and they were hot and fresh. We didn’t try to sweet potato fries(maybe next time) The staff was very friendly and pleasant. Told the manager about how great out experience was. The bathrooms were very clean. 3 kids used the bathrooms a total of 6 times. You do the math!
