Miles of parking behind the Sushi Bar, very authentic Sushi. I have traveled extensively in Japan. AKI San does a great job. Fish is always fresh and very good. The Sushi is not some fusion junk with bacon pieces and lots of rolls. More than four people call ahead. Great selection of Sake and Japanese Hard Liquor. Sushi is to be savored, sit back and enjoy the place. The other guests are usually friendly and polite. Waitstaff is very attentive.

The food and the service are great! Don’t forget to try the angel and Dodgers rolls! The place isn’t very big so be sure to get a reservation if you have a large party!

In an area filled with various sushi places, I picked this place. It’s located in a little strip mall, that has tight limited parking. Luckily, this place reserves spots for customers right in front. Walked in and it was packed, but was able to find a table. The moment we sat down, the waitress brought us «menus». Pretty much it just had pics of their rolls, while the sushi list you filled out had more options than the menu showed. We waited for about 10 minutes before the waitress finally came to take our order. While taking our order, we had a question about a roll and she gave us attitude. Our food was not good. Sushi is supposed to be cold, but it was warmer than room temperature. We decided not to eat it. She never came back to check on us. She brought us our check and then told us that the tip was not included. My friend looked at here with a «are you serious look». We paid for the sushi we did not eat — no tip. I won’t be coming back there again.

Everything I tried here is fabulous, the quality is excellent. I am a huge sushi fan but picky, this place is hands down the best in the area, their Toro is awesome and reasonably priced.

Definitely an authentic Japanese joint. Pretty small restaurant, but you get the feel of how it is in Japan. Prices are not the cheapest but quality is pretty good. The chefs make your rolls or sashimis on the spot. Worth trying out.

This was our first time here, my husband and I decided to go on a spontaneous Sushi date night at 10:30pm. I remembered a good friend recommended this spot. We were very pleased, sushi was very good we ordered Crunchy roll, caterpillar roll & the soft shell crab. Prices seem normal for sushi, it’s a small cozy place, we would definitely come back again.

Came here with high expectations and it did not meet those expectations. It was good but the rice to fish portion was heavier on the rice side. Also, they did not have toro when we went. :(For reference, we were the first customers of the night at 5pm. We ordered the fresh oyster, Alaska roll, sweet shrimp, yellow tail, eel, and salmon egg. The sweet shrimp was market price and it was $ 10 for 2 pieces. I do think that was expensive since I’ve had way better sweet shrimp at other sushi places. The fresh oyster was surprisingly good, $ 5 for 2 pieces. Overall, I wouldn’t come back to this place. Many more sushi places in the South Bay that is worth going.

I dined in at Sushi Bei for the first time recently and to be quite honest, I’m not impressed. The rolls I ordered were OK, there was nothing delicious or special about them. The crunch rolled lacked crunch and the caterpillar roll had a funny flavor. The spicy mayo was lumpy and red, barf! Also, their menu is small. The chef was pretty slow at making my sushi, as he kept pouring himself more beer and drinking it and then going to the back and touching God knows what and then coming back and continuing making the sushi with his bare hands. I thought it was weird. I only came here because it was almost 10pm and my go-to places were already closed. I’ll stick to sushi sumo down the street, I won’t be coming back here.

This restaurant is very cozy and is definitely one of the more traditional sushi restaurants I’ve visited in terms of ambiance. I wish they had more options available but the dishes they offer hit the spot. My favorite were the fried squid and California rolls.

Pound for pound this is the best sushi spot in the South Bay, and might be my favorite sushi spot in Los Angeles. What I appreciate is that you get what you pay for and then some. Last night I ordered a rainbow roll for $ 13 and a California roll for $ 6.50. All I needed was the rainbow roll and I would’ve been full. I left absolutely stuffed, ended up paying $ 24 with tip. The rolls are gigantic, packed with large cuts of fish and crab. The rice is perfectly moist and packed together tight around thin strips of seaweed. Of course, the key to good sushi is fresh fish, and Sushi Bei has a constant supply of fresh every day flavorful fish, shrimp, octopus, and other seafood delights. A little wasabi and a soy sauce and you’re ready to chow down. Love it, absolutely delicious I’ve never been disappointed. I will say that the chef goes heavy on the rice, but he counters it with large portions of seafood as well. It’s a small restaurant and the staff is friendly. There is a decent parking lot outside, nothing gigantic but more than enough. Check this place out if you want some good sushi, for real.

It’s official, best spicy tuna around. And that the restaurant is cozy makes it much easier to mingle with other patrons and the sushi chefs too. Been coming to Sushi Bei for a decade plus. Good prices, tasty sushi options and decent sashimi sizes. Those recognizably named restaurants tend to skimp on fish, but not Sushi Bei. It’s refreshing when the neighborhood places don’t get caught in the commercialism of serving something pricey and pretty. I think the only service missing from here are the hot towels… we could have used them, it was a chilly evening, but even so, the meal was delicious, the service swift and friendly. Spicy tuna, nigiri(yellow tail, salmon, Spanish mackerel and big eye tuna), tempura were all delicious. He had hot sake, I enjoyed cold sake… both were house favorites… even after the second round. Way to go Sushi Bei, see you soon.

I was in the area for an event and wanted a quick dinner at Hakata Ramen, but I’d found that I’d gotten there too early and Hakata wouldn’t be open for another 30 minutes! This place was right next door and I noticed they were open – problem solved. It’s a small, neat and clean but unassuming-looking place, but I soon found out that I had wandered into a little gem. I was the first one there for the night and sat at the sushi bar. The chef, Aki, is kind of reserved, but he’s a wiz with a sushi knife. I just started ordering everything that sounded good: Scallop, salmon, yellowtail(best), uni, spicy tuna handroll, ikura sushi, and finally the«Aki special” – basically a seafood dynamite that was very tasty. There’s something so magical about baked Japanese mayo mixed with masago(smelt egg), yum. The fish was fresh and the portions generous. They even gave me a complimentary sorbet at the end – it was orange creamsicle-like and delicious! There was just one waitress working there at the time but she was very nice and efficient, no complaints at all with the service either. Sometimes when things don’t go as planned you end up discovering something great! I will definitely return. STEPHJUDGMENT: Plain and unassuming looks belie a great sushi value.

Best Sushi I’ve ever had. I love coming here! Whenever you come in the door Aki welcomes you and you just feel like you can enjoy yourself. It’s a great place to just sit and enjoy. I’ve never came here and left disappointed. If you wanted to try a roll then you’d definitely have to try the Crunch Roll. It’s the best one!

The best sushi in Gardena. Been coming here for years and me and family keep coming back for more because we are never disappointed. Fish is always fresh and the sushi is consistent in taste/presentation. The restaurant is small, if you are planning on coming with a big party, I’d recommend you call ahead and make reservations. Chef Aki welcomes us each time and already knows our order. His staff is friendly and attentive. Some of our favorites are the seafood salad, the spicy tuna hand rolls– heck, it’s all good! Yummyyyy

Came here for a late Sunday dinner with my wife. It was surprisingly empty for a Sunday night, so I wasn’t expecting much, but went in anyway. I was very pleasantly surprised. The setup is nice and simple, actually reminds me of sushi bars in Japan, and not like the overdone décor that you commonly find in sushi bars owned by non-Japanese. The place couldn’t be any better. The waitress was very friendly and served with a smile each time. The food came out fast, and was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Dodger Roll, and got eight pieces of sushi: tuna, yellowtail, salmon, albacore. We also got a side of tako wasabi and a couple of oysters to end. I thought for sure the bill would come out huge, but surprisingly it was under $ 50 for the two of us. I guess there wasn’t anything too uniquely special to the place, but it fulfills everything you can ask for in a sushi bar, and service was excellent. Tip: It’s right next to Shin Sen Gumi. If the line is ever too long at Shin Sen Gumi and you’re getting hungry, this is a great alternative. Tip 2: albacore lovers, go get the Dodger Roll. Tip 3: 2 oysters in half shell for $ 5– good finish to a meal.
