The phở was good but not spectacular. The broth was a little mild on the flavor. They had very good service though. However, the employees were so all sitting down and talking really loudly which was a little disruptive to our meal. But if noise is not an issue for you, this place has potential. Price is also a little expensive for phở for that area.

We came here for the Bun Bo Hue and was not disappointed. The broth was light but tasty and spicy. The meat was good too. My husband actually wanted broken rice but they only had Phở or BBH, so if you’re looking to try other things on the menu, you might be disappointed.

I’m a little hesitant to leave this review because I’m afraid my newly found secret spot won’t be so secret but, in a moment I’ll get over myself and realize that my opinion doesn’t really mean much… OK, now on with it. My first time here I had the phở and I was throughly impressed with the deep rich flavor of the soup base. I never add siracha or hoisin to the phở because I feel it masks the true flavor. What Phở? soup is excellent on its own. Best I’ve ever had. Now I thought maybe it was just that batch of soup or my taste buds were enhanced that day so I’ve been holding off on leaving a review. Today I had the Bun bo Hue and it was the best I’ve ever had. The portions and prices are fair, not the biggest and not the cheapest but hands down the best tasting! There’s parking in back. When traveling south make a right in the first driveway past the building. And by the way… leave a spot for me.

this place is all about the small extra details that make a broth delicious and complex and authentic. they are probably my favorite place to get bun bo hue. phở is good too. fragrant and clear they don’t mess around! please give this place a chance before you decide to go to one of those phở shops with powder packet broth and hard noodles on the bottom. it’ll be worth it

Delicious bun bo hue! I personally think it’s better than the ones in bolsa. Their sate chili sauce is homemade!

This place has solid bun bo hue. If you’ve ever been to Ngu Binh in Westminister and had to suffer in those lines, this spot has arguably better bun bo hue. It has this intensely deep, rich flavor, one that I’ve been searching for ever since I left the OC. The phở is also solid, as are their nem nuoung, but do not leave without ordering the bun bo hue. They also sell their own fermented chili paste(I think that’s what it is) that basically makes everything tastes like magic. The owner there is one of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Do yourself a favor and try this place.

This place has to be the best phở restaurant in the South Bay area hands down. My family came here for lunch & everything was amazing. We had the ox tail phở, bun cha gio thit nuong(pork vermicelli noodles with egg rolls) & the com bi cha thit nuong(BBQ pork with rice). Their café sua da(Vietnamese coffee) is yummy too. The phở broth was very flavorful, noodles were cooked to perfection & they were generous with the ox tail. The pork vermicelli bowl was large & everything tasted amazing. The pork was very well marinated & all the vegetables were fresh. The interior is modern & clean. On previous reviews people complain how there were dishes laying around on the tables but there isn’t much. I feel like they’re exaggerating. There’s usually one person running the front. So they put their priority in serving customers first & then cleaning the tables. I always have amazing customer service & delicious food every time I go. I will definitely be coming back very soon!

Excellent oxtail phở and bun bo hue! Visa accepted. Great authentic food. One of the best phở’s I’ve had near the south(without driving to OC).

After 5 yrs of living in the South Bay, I FINALLY found a bun bo hue comparable to Little Saigon & even my moms! That’s saying a lot because my mom is from Hue & she makes the best BBH! We also tried the Phở Dac Biet & the soup was tasty, a lot of meat, fresh veggies! I didn’t like the spring rolls, the rice paper wasn’t soft, don’t order it. Overall, I would def come back when my craving for Bun Bo Hue hits & I don’t wanna drive to Little Saigon! Try this place!

This place is underrated! Our favorite phở spot is closed on Sundays and we were getting tired of our other go-to spot so we decided to give this place a try. At first I didn’t want to come here after reading some of the low reviews but my boyfriend really wanted to try their bun bo hue. The restaurant is located on the main street of Crenshaw just a little past Rosecrans. Don’t let its location fool you though. We walked in and were seated right away. We were the only customers there besides another table. I ordered my usual phở tai whereas my boyfriend got his dish. We also ordered some egg rolls. Everything came out rather quickly– we got right to eating within 10 minutes of arriving. Everything tasted wonderful! I really enjoyed my phở broth. So much that instead of usually squirting the sriracha and hoisin sauce in my bowl, I kept it on the side as a dip. My boyfriend licked his bowl clean! We’ll definitely be back

OK, I’ve been here a handful of times and I think the time is right to give it two thumbs up! I’ve tried their combo and filet mignon phos as well as the bun bo hue and oxtail soups. All have been very, very tasty. Typically, I stick with combo phở whenever I go any place that serves it. When discussing this with the owner, he gently insisted that I explore their menu because apparently I’ve been missing out on some of their specialties. So, each time I visit, he suggests what I should order the next time. He [and his wife] hasn’t steered me wrong yet and I appreciate them guiding me through their soup menu. Next up is Kobe Beef Phở.

Ever since What Phở? opened, I’ve been wanting to try it. They have menu items you don’t typically find outside of the OC, especially the bun bo Hue and oxtail phở, and they are close to my house. Bf and I visited on an early Sun afternoon… TBH, VERYEXCITED to try their bun bo hue. There were three other tables already seated, and two tables full of dirty dishes waiting to be cleared,(that were still there when we left 45 minutes later eek!). It’s a small place. The host, runner, and waiter were one in the same. He was friendly, but I think this place is having trouble getting into the groove of things. My bf ordered the Hue, and I ordered the special Dac Biet which is a large bowl of phở with many different meats. We also ordered pork and shrimp spring rolls. The waiter tells me right away that they are out of dipping sauce, and if I do get them, they only have fish sauce dip. Meh, I ordered anyway. A few minutes later, the waiter comes back to say they are out of bun bo hue too… Argh. My bf orders what I got instead, but it was a bummer since we came for the bun bo hue! It has been mentioned in other reviews that they tend to run out of stuff, but I was still surprised as I didn’t think it would happen as early as 2pm. Ironically, or even more surprising, is that What Phở! is located right next to a Vietnamese market. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Spring Rolls: 1 star. The vermicelli inside was still warm, and there was no pork as stated on the menu. Not a lot of herbs. Lackluster at best. Price was right, at just over $ 3 for two rolls. Phở: Dac biet(large bowl only) a little over $ 7. 2 stars. Extremely oily. After we left, my bf commented on the aftertaste of burnt oil. to me, it tasted just plain greasy. Meat slices were also mostly fat, and very low quality. Be ready for flies since they leave their door wide open,(not sure if they have AC or not). Not sure if the kids are there all of the time, but expect some of the owner’s kids running around too. The other reviewers must have caught them on really good days, or we caught them on a really terrible day. YMMV. I really hate to write this terrible review because I know that they, just like everyone else, are trying their best, and it seems that they are new to running a restaurant. I think they might need a little more staff and some quality changes. Will be looking out for more honest reviews and hope to return when things change.

I’ll give it one good star for the Bun Bo Hue, which had a great broth. However, everything else, starting from just walking into the restaurant was terrible. Just coming in they let you walk in from the back parking lot, past the bathroom, and through the kitchen where you can see all their dirty dishes. I don’t know what the health regulations are in Orange County, but I know for LA County customers aren’t allowed to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. That was our first red flag. There were only one or two other groups dining, so we were seated quickly. We ordered the banh beo for an appetizer. The waiter said they didn’t have it. We ordered the shrimp and pork spring rolls instead, which then came with NOPORK. We asked the waiter, and again he simply said they didn’t have it, which you’d think they’d tell you before giving you a half assed, flavorless spring roll. The sauce that came with it was bland, too. We overheard another group try to order something off their specials menu written in chalk by the entrance, and AGAIN the waiter just said they didn’t have it. He didn’t even bother to wipe it off the specials board afterward. After ordering and receiving the phở and bun bo hue, we never saw our waiter again except to pay. My friend had the phở and said it was alright, definitely had better. Like I said earlier, I did enjoy the bun bo hue, but what I did NOT enjoy were the 3 flies that kept swarming about us. At least something was having a good time. They keep the back and front doors wide open, which made me wonder how many flies were hanging out in the kitchen. Health and safety need to get on this place. Another pair were having an intense conversation with folks from the restaurant about business practices, which I really hope they take to heart and change how they run this place. How it is now, I definitely would not return.

Today was an extremely hot day 90+ degree weather and what do we crave? That’s right, phở and bun bo! We have heard great things about this place from friends and of course, Unilocalers! Decided to try this place out on the hottest day ever lol. We got the bun Bo hue, friend got a phở and I got the pork and rice. I HIGHLY recommend the bun Bo if you love bun bo like I do. It was soooo good! Tastes very home made which I love because home made food is the best! Very authentic. I didn’t get to try the phở but I trust my friends opinion since he is Vietnamese, he said it was really good phở! And for the pork and rice it was very good! Not the best I’ve had but it does the job :) The service was awesome! Very friendly staff. We got our food quickly. I love that they give you green tea instead of water. My friends say that it is very similar to restaurants in Vietnam. Lol I thought it was cool! This review is mainly for the bun bo hue because I’m just really impressed on how amazing it tastes I will definitely come back!

Good service, good Phở, priced right This is my new favorite Phở spot! The service here is personable and the food has a lot of pride taken in preparing it. I would recommend this phở spot to anyone new to Phở or a connoisseur of Phở. Great place hidden in Gardena CA.

Definitely the best broth. My gf and I had a Phở and a Bun Bo Hue, and imho, they were the best to get in this area. They are also famous for their Kobe Beef Phở and orange squeezed drink.
