I like going here with my son and we always have a great experience. But today, there was a different bar tender(we chose to eat at the bar) and she was slow and barely acknowledged we were there. Just wasn’t great service.

Didn’t know whether to give the place a great or a terrible rating so decided to just share my experience. My son and 2 grandsons and I were looking for a place to eat last night. Since it was Saturday night on Mother’s Day weekend, every place was crowded so we decided to go here. I had eaten here a couple years ago and thought it was awesome! Thought it was a bit curious that it wasn’t busy… good food, great view, great atmosphere, perfect weather… why wasn’t there a longer wait? Found out after we dined. I ordered grilled tilapia with shrimp and lobster sauce. even pointed it out on the menu when I ordered. I got just the grilled tilapia. The waiter seemed a little confused when I pointed it out and I didn’t understand if I was going to get the rest of the meal or not(I never did). My 8 year old grandson ordered the kid’s corn dogs and he asked if he could have the mac and cheese as a side. The waiter said sure so that’s what he ordered. And my 11 year old grandson ordered the kid’s pizza. But when we got the bill, we realized that we were charged for 3 kid’s meals @ $ 4.99 each. The 11 year old got fries with his meal but my 8 year old simply got mac and cheese and mini corn dogs… no other sides. The wait for drink refills was unreal. And I ended up eating more of my food than I had planned cause I couldn’t find anyone to bring me a to-go box. My vegetables were raw and hard to chew but the tilapia was awesome… and the rice was good! That’s why I have such mixed feelings about the place. The waiter was friendly and seemed efficient… most of the food was really good(my tilapia was excellent)…the view was fantastic… prices were reasonable… had awesome fish tanks… BUT…would I go again? No… was just too confusing.

I agree with everyone who gave this place a poor rating. The salmon was dry… dry…dry…the shrimp on the Po Boy was battered to the point of being unrecognizable. It tasted like something out of a grocery store freezer. The mango margarita tasted more like an orange slurpee, and I doubt very seriously that there was any tequila or any alcohol in it. The best thing about this restaurant is the gorgeous view of the lake which you can not see from inside the restaurant. I could definitely prepare better seafood at home. The service was ok.

We used to love this place, especially our kids. The atmosphere is great with a view of the lake and a large fish tank. In the past year something has happened and the quality of food and service has gone down hill. The last two times we went the wait for our drinks and bread was outrageous and the place was not crowded at all. One time we waited over 15 minutes for a table when the place was not even half full. The food was cold, and when we complained we were just told sorry. They wanted to warm it in the microwave. I used to always get the chicken, and it used to be fantastic. Last time it was so dry I could barely choke it down. I’m disappointed this place is not good anymore. Hopefully they change and we can visit again.

Worst restaurant experience in a long time. We went here for lunch and it wasn’t very crowded, yet our waitress was somewhat inattentive and took a long time responding to us when we needed drink refills. It took an unusually long time to get our food after it was ordered. About half an order of onion rings had the outside part of the onion in it and was not edible. The«fall off the bone» ribs were dry and difficult to cut them apart with a knife. The manager did comp part of our food that wasn’t good, but after paying with a gift card, the waitress never returned to take the gift card again to add the tip as she had told us we could do. We finally got up and left without her ever making another appearance. The manager asked if we’d come back and try the restaurant again sometime, but we told him we’d have to think about that as we both felt reluctant about returning. The whole experience was very disappointing to both of us.

Really cool place! Has very big Bass Pro Shop with massive fish tanks! Menu is fish and southern fried items.

I have eaten here for years. Came today and the quality took a huge turn for the worst. I asked about it and apparently there is a new manager. I can understand hiring a new manager but when the quality of the food takes a dive straight to the bottom of the lake… Time to rethink.

Service was horrible !!! Menu has changed and not for the better. The waitress took our order, another served and it was a WRONG !! One order was place with replace French fries with a salad. the salad was missing and fries were served. Another order was a salad with grilled chicken added. It came without the chicken. Requested tartar sauce many times for fried fish and it was never received. We were there at 6:45 on a Saturday night. No wait for table and the place was still mostly empty when we left 90 minutes later. Now we understand why !! Basically it sucked !! Will not return !!

Have tried to eat here twice… 1) 2 hours, empty restaurant, cold food, terrible service. 2) Sat in booth for 20 minutes watching employees stand around, play, and talk. Only one other table sat and had to leave cause no one EVER came to wait on us. As a seafood lover and one who’s family frequents bass pro, it would be so nice to combine this trip with lunch but not possible. So sad to see such a beautiful view for a restaurant gone to waste since it’s anyways empty from such terrible management.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Wait was long, place was empty, service was really poor. Do they not know how to train the help? Twenty minutes later we finally got our drink order taken, waited additional 20 minutes and left without ever even getting our appetizer much less our entrees.

For the most part, our meal was ok. Nothing really stood out. The service was a bit slow to start off. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip for appetizer and sadly, it was a bit runny. I had the bowl of gumbo with a side of mac & cheese – the mac was dry with little flavor. The gumbo was alright but I wanted more seafood flavor – it just tasted mostly like tomatoes. My sister got the 1 lb boiled shrimp special and it was overcooked – the shells weren’t peeling off. My parents got the fried alligator and the rotisserie chicken. And my brother got the fish & chips. All in all, probably not worth going back.

Comfortable and fun feel to this place. The alligator was good, but I wouldn’t order it again. It’s expensive and not tasty enough to warrant the price for my money. We had a friendly and prompt waiter. We’ll be back.

I had their chicken fried steak gravy and vegetables and she had the blackened grilled tilapia over wild rice not too crazy about it but it was good. waitress kept our drinks full and make sure that everything was just right, They had a Fire in the Fire place, kind of romantic, foggy outside across the lake reminds you of the Movie(The FOG …) we will be Back to sit on the patio at Night in the near Future.

Love this place! Don’t go here because I feel like I own the place when I am there. There is no one else around which is weird. I think no one knows about it or something? Try the habanero margarita, freaking delish!

I had to make a trip to Rockwall one day and passed this place. The Florida girl inside me got excited because I have been to Islamorada, Florida plenty of times and ate at this restaurant there. The following weekend, I had my husband make the drive to Garland to try it out! Islamorada Fish Company is in a Bass Prop Shop overlooking Lake Ray Hubbard. I got the grilled mahi mahi. It was alright. a little over cooked. Nothing I would drive back to Garland for. Our waitress didn’t really know much about the restaurant or Islamorada. Anyway, the best thing about the trip was the view of Lake Ray Hubbard and other potential restaurants to try :).

Don’t know what all the fuss is about. We’ve been going there for a number of years. We had a few questionable experiences in the beginning but in the last few years it’s been really awesome. Best thing about this place is that there’s no line, no waiting to get seated. No matter what time of day. I guess it’s because the place isn’t very popular. But for us the food has always been great and the service has always been exceptional. And of course the bonus is that afterward you can go shopping in the very cool Bass Pro.

My dad and I went here a couple weeks ago. I had never been to the restaurant part, but he had been once before. I love this location right on the water. It made for a pleasant atmosphere. We both ordered the gator and fries. There were several pieces of gator that were really fishy tasting, and I want too crazy about the doing sauce. It was a jalapeño, honey, milk type sauce. Very bland and milky. I used ketchup with the non-swampy flavored gator. It was an overall«okay» experience, but probably not my first choice.

We shop at Bass Pro often and utilize the restaurant for convenience. After three separate visits, all three with various problems, we will not be dining again. The last straw was Saturday afternoon when we waited several minutes to be seated despite the restaurant being less than 15% occupied. The drink I ordered off of the menu was no longer available. The oysters were not available either. Lastly, the Ahi Tuna Skewers were served way under cooked/raw — the center of the fish was still frozen. It took an additional 15 minutes to have the plate corrected and the manager gave us 15% off of our check. It should have been free! Very disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber.

Very pleasant Memorial Day lunch with my daughter. Beautiful coral aquarium. Large unique ocean style atmosphere. Peaceful, good service. Good food recommendations. I had the buffalo BBQ burger. Would have it again.

Story: Being a vegetarian this was by far the worst date night idea ever, I guess it slipped my fellas mind that everything on the menu was a meat eaters dish, with the exception of sides. Service: Fair. Seemed very disinterested and snappy. Like they wanted us to either be gone or simply order quickly so they can get the hell out. I felt very out of place. Food: My red skinned mash and daily vegetables were good. The sugar bread was good as well, however I found it to be a bit rude when our waiter stated, «this loaf is complimentary but if you get more it’s a $ 1 a loaf.» I appreciate being told in advance so when the bill comes my boyfriend and I aren’t in total shock, however, in the midst of cutting a slice, that just made me not want to eat anymore, it actually ruined my appetite. The fella got shrimp kabobs, wild rice and veggies. Great combo, however, we had more food at Five Sixty than we did here. Although, we both were full afterwards. Vibe: Hmmm… how could I put this nicely?! I felt unwelcomed, as if I were in someone else’s territory. Area: The harbor is beautiful, very calming. I enjoyed seeing the ripples in the water as the lights flickered and shined on-top. It was peaceful. Overall: This was my first time coming and will definitely be my last.
