Fortuno’s Genoa Station Bar & Grill is the best! I’ve never been disappointed and I’ve been coming here since he opened. His(well really Chuey the cook’s) French fries are crispy, not greasy and oh so tasty. The corned beef sandwiches are yummy as are the BLT sandwiches. The salads are crisp and fresh. I’ve yet to try breakfast because it is served only on the week-end but one day I’ll get there. In Genoa, this is the place to eat.

The epitome of the cozy, friendly, small-town restaurant that the locals love. Owner Fortino is a gracious host and works hard to remember everyone by name. A real hospitalitarian. We are fans of the fresh, homemade Mexican food on Vaquero Tuesdays, especially Chuy’s pork chile verde stew, and tonight I had the special: delicious crab enchiladas with two different sauces. On V-Tuesdays, there’s also a little taster-size dessert, which was deep fried ice cream tonight. Heaven! Hubs is slightly obsessed with the ultra-meaty spaghetti. We also enjoy breakfast(biscuits and gravy!) and lunch(great sandwiches) on the porch, which is a nice, shady retreat on a sunny day and an entertaining place to watch the comings and goings in this tiny town. And if you happen to be at the famous Genoa Bar across the street and find yourself getting peckish, you can call the Station and order a pizza, which will be delivered to you at your barstool. What’s not to like about that? Prices are very reasonable for both food and wine.

If you want some quality homemade food, this is the spot to goto. Everything is freshly prepared, never frozen, and it just taste so goooood. We were really impressed with their bacon and potato pancakes. They serve breakfast on every weekends and amazing Mexican food and pizza on Tuesdays(after 4PM).

This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I visited this place after having a few drinks at Genoa Bar. I was impressed by the antique décor and the cleanliness of the restaurant when we walked in. We were greeted promptly by the owner Fortino, with a huge smile ;) Fortino was so nice and helpful. We ordered the fish and chips which were AMAZING!!! Chewy, the chef came out personally and asked us how our food was. Chewy and Fortino are brothers who opened this restaurant up a few years ago. We will defiantly be back soon!

They have the most delicious coctails I’ve had in a long while and it truly sucks for me cuz I can only get out there a few times a year fml rbf go get one of those specialty bloody ‘s or the peppermint mocha(?) drink. oh my yum. Also they sell hats and beanies and had the most ridiculously funny quotes all over the bar. Enjoy! You’re welcome

The food was decent yet the talpia was too moist and didn’t have enough spice. Then when asked for lemons, received limes instead. Took about 15 minutes to order our food, about an hour to receive our food. Then we had to ask for the bill. To top it all off the steak came out beyond well even though the order was for medium rare and one of our members now has food poisoning. I work in the food industry and the food took too long, the service was not as well as it could have been considering that the man who took our orders was on his phone for a great deal of time. Customers are meant to be helped as soon as possible and as frequently as possible. The food must be correct to the order. Yes accidents happen but for the same two plates at the same table to be messed up is not an accident.

French dip was excellent. The ruben was tasty. The classic Blt just ok. The bacon on the blt was over cooked. French fries although tasty was a bit on the salty side.

Went for my 64th birthday dinner. The staff was exceptional. Food was good and the«entertainment» was a large group of local ukulele players. Unexpected fun.

Genoa, Nevada first time visiting this historic gem of a tow. Asked the gal at the park service where too eat. She said that this was a great place. Well BINGO!!! Fresh, Simple ingredients done right. Small salad with home made dressing, the best Turkey Melt sandwich I have ever had in my life, real turkey breast, fresh local baked bread. Brewed Ice Tea, and too top it off a homemade Lemon Bar with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. AWESOME!!!

I’m a local just going to grab something quick on the way home. $ 24.30 for two cheeseburgers to go. Buns at McDonalds are better quality. Burger had more salt than the very salty fries.

Something something real silverware. But more seriously, this is a neat little place. There was live music Friday night when we were there. My only complaint is my ribs weren’t the greatest. Everyone else enjoyed all their food though.

Amazing service — check! Awesome food — check! Warm and cozy décor — check! There isn’t one thing I can think about this place that didn’t make me happy. We were here over Memorial Day weekend and ate dinner on Saturday night and then breakfast on Sunday morning. The food was incredible. Fresh, hot, tasty and large portions. I had the vegetarian pasta and it was deelish! I usually don’t order vegetarian meals but the server/bartender/host assured me that it was great and he was 150% correct. My friend ordered the steak with mushroom sauce with rice and veggies. It was also so good. For breakfast I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo and ranchero sauce. I very rarely order chorizo because some of it is amazing and some of it is pure chunks of gooey fat that is just gross. This chorizo was really meaty and good. Lots of eggs and the ranchero sauce was amazing. Homemade also. I made two meals out of it because it was so big. My friend ordered the biscuits and gravy and it was also amazing. Huge portions. Great service with an entirely different staff in the morning. This place was so impressive that I would drive all the way to Genoa to eat here again. If you are ever in that area check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Let me start by stating, I consider myself a fairly rational, level-headed, and reasonable person in general. I came here on a lunch break in town and the locals at the bar convinced my to get the pizza because it was AMAZING and when theirs came, it looked good, so I did. I ordered the cowboy pizza(pulled pork ribs, grilled onion, BBQ sauce) and after waiting for an obscene amount of time for my lunch(seriously, at least 40 minutes) but it did taste amazing(probably also because j was starving by that time). So overall I say: Bar Service: 4⁄5 the cocktails were weak but at least he kept a good eye out when your glass was low Food service 3.5÷5 because it was ridiculously slow but the food was tasty Staff 5⁄5 they were amazingly friendly It’s just a solid place for a lunch with a quick drink.

Great food & service. We stopped with the family on a trip to visit Genoa. We ordered the western chicken soup, chili, turkey melt and clubhouse sandwich. We left happy and full and we look forward to coming back.

We came up to enjoy the quiet beauty of Genoa, had dinner and I’m sorry there was no time to photo the food! Great, great guys treating us as guests. Nice bar beside great eating tables. All around great prices, the past reviewers were right on. You deserve to eat solid well made food and this place delivers. Be back for bfast.

The Reno area is a tough place to visit if you aren’t into the casinos and shows. We were in town for the weekend to visit a high school friend of my husbands and had some time to kill on Saturday so I checked the visitor’s guide at our hotel and one of the places suggested as a day trip was Genoa, the site of Nevada’s first trading post in 1851, about 15 miles south of Carson City. Being a history buff, it sounded right up my alley. Of course the second thing I did was Unilocal places to eat, and that’s how I found the Genoa Station Bar & Grille. Driving into Genoa was like driving onto a movie set: Victorian-style B&Bs and a quaint little Main Street –don’t blink or you’ll miss it– with some antique stores, real estate offices, a deli, and a big historical park on one corner. At the end of the block was Genoa Station Bar & Grille. Upon entering, you are immediately in the bar but we were seated right away and given menus. The small dining room was cute with mismatched furniture, and a subtle country Grandma theme. Once the large table of 6 with 2 obnoxious children left, it was peaceful and quiet. The breakfast menu looked quite good and the lunch menu was simple: salads & sandwiches mostly, plus a full bar. I ordered the BLT that came with french fries, salad or tater tots on the side. I rarely order fries but tater tots will get me every time! The only thing I didn’t care for about the sandwich was a homemade sundried tomato aioli that I didn’t think went too well with the bacon. My husband ordered a small house salad and the excellent homemade chili. We were both impressed that our food was served on real china plates with real silverware. Our food was served by the owner, Jesus Rojas,(aka Chef de Cuisine) who took time to chat with us about how he landed in Genoa and acquired the restaurant. After previously working in Lake Tahoe on the M.S. Dixie and Tahoe Queen as a bartender, he(along with his wife) left to try his luck with the restaurant. So far I think they’ve got a good thing going; a great little place in a not-so-known little town. We’ll be back!

Only here for lunch, but what a great little place. Cute, clean, best tuna melt ever. On sour dough. Grilled perfectly. Super service!!! Out door seating in the shade in a beautiful setting. Perfect turkey panini too. They’ve got a great formula. Even thanked hubby for tip.

Man, it’s been a while since I’ve been to Genoa, er ah, besides going to the Genoa Bar, and so it was this morning when my wife wanted to head out there for breakfast, as she’d heard about this place. If you don’t want the details, simply know, we will be considering this in the future, and know that it is definitely in one of the coolest spots in the state. First, and this is important, they have real silverware, plates, and coffee cups. It seems like a lot of places have really good foot, but they’re serving it in baskets, on paper plates, or in plastic cups. This place had none of that, and, if you’re into it, they tables are all different, the silverware doesn’t match, and the plates the food arrives on don’t match either. It’s a big mix of unmatched tables, chairs and serving utensils, and I appreciated it. Most importantly, the food was good. There were a couple of minor quibbles, but, as I already mentioned, the food was good. This morning my wife and I shared a breakfast burrito made with chorizo, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy and some sausage. We also enjoyed their coffee, which was strong and free flowing. In case you are interested, they do have a full bar, and they had mimosas and bloody marys on the menu, but we didn’t try them. The conclusion of the story is that there is more going on than the breakfast establishments on HWY395, and Genoa is a great option to consider. I’ll be back.
