What a terrific lunch spot! We met friends from Florida here for lunch & were blown away by the great food. Among the six of us, we had pancakes, bacon & egg sandwiches with hash browns, potato soup with jalapeños, combo– po boys, a hamburger and milkshakes. Couldn’t have been better anywhere & our server, Angel, was friendly and efficient. I’ll drive back just for the po boy, as their fried catfish is heavenly! Wonderful & memorable step back in time.

Wandered in for a late lunch. I ordered the club sandwich and their chips. Good sandwich, good service. The butterscotch pie was ok, but nothing exceptional. All in all, a nice little place for a sandwich.

I am honestly impressed by the burger I had. Better burger than supposed award winning burgers. Well seasoned patty cooked thoroughly dripping in juices not grease. Nice crust cooked on the patty which has a satisfying texture leaving you wanting more. The burger I had was the tiger burger, The reason I am so impressed is because of how the patty was cooked and how well portioned the meat, bun, to veggie ratio. PERFECT. Didn’t care much for the fries, was a drifter, If I had more time I would stay in the town longer and try more of Fava’s menu items.

Fava’s is always a good treat and far from the chain restaurant fair so prevalent in Georgetown. My wife raves about the Pecan Pie and rarely passes it up if everyone else hasn’t eaten it all before we get there. I have yet to have anything off of the menu that I did not like!

Great homey diner feel! The staff was awesome, could tell they cared about their guests. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted great! I highly recommend the onion straws.

Food and service were both good. Just not spectacular! But if you’re in town and looking for a place to eat it’s a good choice.

It’s a nice little place. Choice of counter, booth, or table seating. Sari and I both ordered catfish, the platter for her, the sandwich for me. We both thought the catfish was excellent. I chose onion rings with my sandwich, and they were great, too. The platter came with hush puppies and they were made with jalapeño. That caught Sari by surprise; substitute something else if you don’t like chili heat.(I liked them.) We also ordered pie for dessert and we both thought it was OK, but not great. The slices weren’t plated well(see the photos, that’s how it was served) and I thought the crust was a little dry. When we sat down, it was mostly empty and service was fast. It was full thirty minutes later and service slowed down a bit but there was also a large party by that time, so no real complaint; our server was very helpful. With soft drinks and dessert, our tab was $ 28.

I guess you could say we are regulars here. We eat here several times a month. Great people. Good food. Specials change frequently. Can always find something homemade to eat. Never leave disappointed. Open since 1910!!! Homemade PIE.

I waffled on whether or not this would be a 3 star, or 4 star review. I ended up with 3 stars, but am open to revising it in the future. Here’s the good parts. It has a charming décor and ambiance. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting and it is clear that this is an authentic old-time small-town diner and judging by the signs, that it’s been around for 105 years. The service was welcoming and friendly. A few minor hiccups(no napkins at the tables and none brought out with my meal), but overall the servers were polite and attentive and provided good service. Here’s the downside. The actual food was pretty weak. I had a ribeye sandwich, which is to say a tiny portion of ribeye steak(a paper-thin slice that could have fit in the palm of my hand), on a cheap bun(that quickly became totally soggy with juice from the meat to the point that it practically disintegrated when I picked it up and made a mess, hence why I noticed no napkins at the tables and none brought out with the meal), with a couple of slivers of sauteed onion, and the french fries were forgettable crinkle cuts, and the portion sizes left me hungry when I was done. The sandwich was also heavily salted, not just a little salt for flavor, but a bite in and thinking«wow, that’s salty!» The best thing about the sandwich was that the tomato served with it was ripe, fresh and ideal. Maybe I just had a mediocre meal, but while I liked the people and the place itself, the food could use some improvement. Next time I’m in Georgetown I’ll stop by and see if trying something else on the menu will be better, as they seem to be worth a second chance, but I was underwhelmed by what I had today.

Some places beg to be known about. I hate to post this review for fear it will become to busy to visit because this place is awesome! We Started with salad, clam chowder, and frickles(fired pickles). Yes, we were very hungry. Catfish plate with mashed taters and gravy, pinto beans and greens. Delicious!!! Those greens and beans are an awesome compliment to the catfish! I had the Rachel which was also good. The fries weren’t overly salty and I loved that. Ended with a piece of day old pie that they serve for 50% off as they make a large selection of pies fresh daily. We will be back for the weekend specials and salad and soup bar.

Great place to stop off I75. Located in historic downtown Georgetown. Cajan Catfish and the Combo PoBoy were what we decided on. It was delicious! Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie for dessert. Also the kids hotdog and chicken tenders were a really good size portion. A must if you are in the area!

Great food & atmosphere! I had a shrimp/catfish poboy which I couldn’t eat it all after my cheesy bacon fries appetizer. Oops. Wish I had room to fit in some ice cream. I did buy a huge chocolate chip cookie there… getting ready to eat it.

This is an older restaurant in downtown Georgetown. Has been there since the early 1900s. Nice old time feel to the place. Food is good and reasonably priced. My favorite is the Philly Cheesesteak omlet with hashbrowns. Just the right amount of egg, meat and cheese! Wait staff is friendly and accommodating. Always make sure your drinks are refilled in a timely manner and helpful with any questions. Stop by if you’re in the area.

I think the food here is gross. This is Waffle House level cuisine. Plain sandwiches, fried stuff, crowded, etc. Maybe just not my cup of tea?

Freckles were very good but there was a lot of open space with my philly cheese steak sandwich. My buddy got a burger and plate was pretty barren. The qty and quality did not warrant the prices.

I have to say my stop today was for milk shakes, the girl had some reservation on how to make them, but with the help of the honest girl, they got done, and they were very friendly. I will say I had some money drop out of my pocket and the honest girl with the black and teal Nike Fusions came out of the restaurant and gave me my money back. I know in this day in age she they could have pocket it… So kudos to honesty and an overall good restaurant in town.

Very cute little hometown place. Went with the fried banana peppers instead of the standard pickles — very tasty! Tried the hot brown on this first visit — best one I’ve had… great cheese gravy! They had ran out of their pies, which everyone seems to rave about so it gives me another excuse to come back soon!

Look, I don’t know about you but when I think of comfort food, some kind of diner-like place comes to mind. I think of tasty, inexpensive, plentiful food that you can sit and devour with friends and family. It’s so nice to find such a place in downtown Georgetown! We came here after a recommendation from a friend in Lexington who suggested it as a «can’t miss it» kind of place. She was right. It was amazing with TONS of interesting lunch time offerings. Specials of the day were seafood jambalaya and catfish fingers. My wife got the huge bowl of jambalaya(and didn’t need to eat again all day long!) and I opted for the combo po-boy which turned out to be catfish and shrimp. Now, normally I stay away from catfish cause of previous experience but since they sort of specialize in it, I decided how bad could it be. Well, it was FABULOUS! The po-boy was delightful, full of flavor, a huge hoagie bun size, filled with freshly fried catfish and shrimp. Oh, and it was $ 6.99. So was the jambalaya. WOOT! That’s what I’m talking about. I’d eat either of those again any time! And let me ask you, where else can you get half a sandwich and soup for $ 4.99? That’s right, $ 4.99. The correct answer is NOWHERE. Except Fava’s. Yep. Believe me. And as I paid my «whopping» lunch tab at the register, I noted the sign behind the counter that listed today’s fresh pies. Oh my, is that what I think it is? Yep, butterscotch pie. Well, sit me down and feed me grandma cause I’m not leaving without getting me some of that! And it was everything I had hoped it would be. And more. Run, don’t walk, to Fava’s. You’ll thank me…

Love this place. I haven’t had a bad meal ever here. The staff is extremely friendly and the service is fast even during a busy lunch rush. They offer a wide selection of food options at a cheap price. Their beer cheese burger is AWSOME! I recommend it to anyone. Although it is a bit messy, it is worth it. If it is sweets you are craving… They make their pies in house from scratch. I really can’t get enough of their yummy peanut butter pie. My moms pies were never this good. If you are ever in the area, you must stop in. You won’t regret it.
