Checked out the majority of the gyms in the area and GTF(tm by me thankyouverymuch) won hands down. Pricing is higher than Golds or the Rec center but, to me at least, completely worth the extra. Towels are provided, better selection of weights than the rec center and less meat head/social hour atmosphere than Golds. I’ve only been in the early AM but I’ve never had to wait or share equipment. Great, small town service is icing on the cake.

This is a gym that is equivalent to fitness facilities as Cheers was to a town pub. If you want a clean facility with terrific free weight equipment and a friendly atmosphere then this is the place. If you want fancy treadmills, ice chilled towels scented with something grown in the garden served with water you can’t pronounce then this isn’t a place for you. The free weight equipment can not be matched anywhere in the Georgetown area. The patrons are amazing and always welcoming and encouraging. They have excellent trainers.

Easily, one of the less crowded gyms in Georgetown, for the best price. What more could you ask for? There is plenty of dumbbells and machines to go around even at the busiest hours. Not to mention that the gym has expanded next door to offer HIT like classes such as boot camp and as well some other classes. The trainers are definitely helpful whether you go to Rocky, Claudia, Theo, Carol or the owner, John. It’s definitely a place where you will receive positive reinforcement and reach your goals. If you haven’t yet, it’s definitely worth giving a try — you wont’ be disappointed.

This is a great place to work out if you want a gym that is not too crowded and is a great price! They even have discounts for families and same sex partners! The only downside is they do not have many free weights but they have a great selection of machines.

This is a great, friendly neighborhood gym with a great amount of space for exercise routines. It has a great free weight space, as well as lots of room for training on things like TRX, free weights, med balls, and other fitness«toys». It is more focused on customer results, rather than simply selling a ton of memberships and trying to pack in the members. They offer a lot of training and customized support here.

This gym has a variety of classes and coaching that keep fitness interesting but also offers the alternative of working out on your own and has both traditional and non-traditional equipment. The staff is knowledgeable and they provide individualized attention to address different client fitness needs. I am a big fan of the medicine ball class on saturday mornings — it’s a great core workout and fun too.
