Restaurant moved down the block… not inside the G’town Hotel anymore. New location inside the Gas Light, across the street, where Starvin’ Dog Pizza used to be. New location is cramped as far as seating goes, but you can get your drinks on the same tab now. Couple new items on the menu, Same great service.

My husband and I enjoy taking a Friday drive and finding new and interesting places to have lunch. We’ve been trying hamburgers all around the Sacramento area. Today, we ended up in Georgetown at the Georgetown Hotel, café and saloon. Turns out to be a favorite local watering hole. Everyone was friendly. You definitely have plenty to look at while sitting at the bar. Taxidermy, cool signs, dollar bills with peoples comments tacked to the walls… along with the people. Good variety of beers and the hard stuff if that’s your cup of tea. The menu offered American and Mexican cuisines, and even some lunch specials. We both had a burger with bacon and cheese. It came with lettuce, tomato, red onions, lettuce, and Fries. This is the 2nd burger I’ve had that didn’t need mayo or anything else on it at all. The patty was cooked just right and was the right thickness. Good fries too. I’ll be interested in trying some other items on their menu.

Stopped in the Saloon for a quick drink. This place has the atmosphere of a Midwest tavern through and through. Loved it!

Love the beef tacos. They are always hot, fresh and wonderful. Totally worth the extra money to buy the beef verses the ground beef.

Drop in for a better than average Mexican meal and an above the average Bloody Mary served in a Bell Jar made from scrath. Don’t worry about the Locals. If you leave your Flatlander attitude at the swinging door you will find that the Georgetown Locals are among the friendliest and least assuming folk you will meet. Don’t let looks fool you!!!

Definitely a «locals» watering hole. But, if your making a run to Uncle Tom’s Cabin you might as well hit the Georgetown Hotel and work on that Georgetown education you promised your parents. Rent the Honeymoon suite above the bar and you will answer that oft heard question posited by new-bees… «Hey, what’s that cowbell hanging from the ceiling?» A Jeep or bike will help you blend in with the normal crowd! What this bar needs… is MORECOWBELL! Dink, Dink, Dink!!!

First review! Sweet! We were camping nearby for Labor Day and went into town for the day. Which really consisted of playing pool, eating fried zucchini sticks(awesome — try the house made marinara which is delicious) and drinkin’ at the bar! The place has a lot of Gold Country charm(probably b/c it hasn’t been renovated since it was built in the late 19th century, but we forgive them!). On that day, a family member of the owner’s was tending bar. I think his name is Anthony. He was awesome! We had lots of beers(PBR, thankyouverymuch) and a few shots. We also had a few of the signature drinks. Ask for a lemon drop(I know, I know. It’s a lemon drop. But believe me, its heavy on the vodka– makes for a good time!). THEBESTBLOODYMARYEVER. Order it– they call it the Georgetown Happy meal. It’s a «secret» family recipe, and it is, BYFAR, the best I have ever tasted. Beware of the bikers. I’m just sayin’ — sometimes they aren’t that friendly. But they stay to themselves. Good jukebox, good times. Definitely worth a stop. Also– ask about the bell on the ceiling!
