My first pick for anything landscaping in Georgetown/Round Rock/Cedar Park area. Best advice. Plants well taken care of.

Great selection of plants and supplies, but the staff absolutely is not interested in helping their customers. We walked around for quite a while on our own and had to track down someone to ask a few questions, then essentially got ignored while the staff talked about their bees. I will only return if/when I know exactly what I want and can’t find it anywhere else.

A great little garden center with lots of organic options, and brands you can’t find in the big box stores. I made a special trip out here as it was the closest store in the area to carry Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, a soil many container gardeners swear by. I was also in the market for a few lights for an indoor seed starter that would allow me to grow seedlings inside without the birds devouring half my seeds before they sprout. I went on a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon and was lucky to be the only one there, so I got a lot of one on one attention, though the employee did seem a bit out of his depth on the lighting. In general, the prices are very fare as well. About a 15% mark-up versus what I could get the lights for on Amazon, but glad to support something a little more local. Because of the cost of shipping, the larger items such as the soil was actually cheaper than online retail. Will be going back.

Nice nursery with good selection of plants. The woman who works there, possibly an owner or relative, needs polish. Every time we’ve been there I’ve found her to be rude, unfriendly, and unhelpful. The other employees are helpful.

Very knowledgeable staff that provide geographically relevant information regarding soil type, sun requirements and corresponding plants that will excel in such soil and sun conditions(e.g. what will grow well on the east side of I-35 versus west side). McIntire’s can get very busy on the weekends during planting seasons(i.e. Spring and Fall). The store is minimally staffed, which is not a problem, as it likely ensured the sustainability of a small, local garden center for some decades now. But if you decide to go on a Saturday during a planting season, and the parking lot and garden center ground are full of people, be patient and wait for help. A certain female staffer(usually has blue tooth device in ear) is a little rough around the edges… but like I said, be patient. Even if you wait 30 minutes, you’ll save yourself weeks of growing pains ;) Mark McIntire(owner) will also do garden consulting at a very very decent price. My wife and I paid ~ $ 80 for a consult several months ago, and we have been extremely happy with the results! He drew up a plan based on plants that we liked and wanted(from McIntire’s), and what he knew would grow well in our area(old town of Georgetown). The plan even specifically stated which plants should be planted immediately(at the time it was October 2013) and later(which is now, Spring 2014). McIntire’s will also deliver plants for a(flat) fee of $ 25. This is a very handy service if you, like me, don’t have a truck but tend to buy a lot of plants at once. Furthermore Mark McIntire himself does, at times, perform the delivery. That’s service!

I was super eager to try out McIntires Garden Center this afternoon. I come from a family of small business owners and make it a point to support local businesses. I know nothing about landscaping and was excited after reading reviews that the staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I wish I had the same experience. As I was considering different options a sales associate walked over to water some nearby plants. I thought it would be a perfect time to ask her opinion on which plants would work best for my needs. I could clearly tell from the start she felt I was wasting her time. She started to tell me one flower wouldn’t work but then proceeded to tell me just to buy it once I started asking more questions about different options. She never once afford to explain why or show me plants in the store. After Asking which soil I should purchase with the flowers, she quickly pointed to the nearest bag. I initially arrived at McIntires to make a large purchase of plants to landscape my entire front and backyard. After receiving such poor customer service I decided it would be best to make a small purchase and leave. As I pulled my wagon inside to the register I was yelled at by the lady to keep the wagon outside. I was embarrassed and my feelings were hurt. I decided to be kind and sweet with the lady at check out(only in hopes it would make her feel bad for how poorly she treated me) then asked permission to use the wagon to load up my car across the street. To top off my horrible experience, I was then followed out by an older gentleman that said he was just insuring they got their wagon back. A better way to insure they got their cart back would of been to offer to help me out to my car. I’m very disappointed by the lack of customer service. I left feeling like I was a waste of their time and assumed a thief.

I was delighted to find this nursery and astounded at the selection! Everything looks so good. They have so many herbs, plants, flowers, fruit trees, and even coy and things to stock a pond. It is fun to browse through the vast array of plants. They also carry ladybugs and praying mantis! Anything that helps the garden naturally. The guys that work there have always been so friendly and knowledgeable. I usually go to Home Depot because i know HD will take the plants back if they should die. I bought a plant from McIntire’s that was over $ 30 and it started dying. Those guys were very kind about willingness to swap it out and try again. :) Thanks guys… definitely going to buy from you a lot more!
