Went to Shake’s today I ordered the white chocolate peppermint concrete it was $ 5 for the smallest size it had no taste of white chocolate at all and had an over load of large pieces of super sticky and hard peppermint candy I couldn’t even chew it it was getting stuck in my teeth I took two bites and went back up and let them know I couldn’t eat it the very rude teenager said oh well you ordered it and your not getting anything else and shut the window on me I was kinda in shock I knocked on the window I let him know the candy seemed old and was impossible to eat he was rude and just said there’s nothing he was going to do! another rude kid came I asked him to call the owner or manager he did he came back to the window and said this one time we will get you something else but your not getting anything that costs anymore then what you ordered I never asked for anything that cost more I will never go back and will spread the word to all my friends. I don’t care how good the custard is this is one of the rudest experiences I have ever had!

Food tastes good, but poor service, no prices posted and nickel and dimed for everything. Servers were crotchety, and would come to the window when we knocked. Don’t plan on going back.

Best ice cream/custard around! I always bring out of town guests there and they say it’s the best they have ever had. Fudge brownie concrete with a shot of caramel for the win!!!

The shakes are amazing and I am so happy to see a great group of young people working here! It is worth the drive and you always get a smile from the employees!

The custard here is very good. We have been here twice now, and both times the service was very slow. The second time they even lost our order. There were enough teenagers working here for quicker service.

The best! Three words: PEANUTBUTTERSHAKE. So good, you have no idea! Limited seating, hole in the wall, $$ but it’s all worth it!

This was my first time here even though I’ve lived here my entire life. That strawberry cheesecake tiny treat was the best part of our whole afternoon. My only advice was we couldn’t figure out if the place was open or not

Maybe I was spoiled by the one in cedar park. On cypress creek, they are fast, perky and friendly, leave all their windows open, and make you feel like your order is very important and just rush right to it. There is parking and everything just look fabulous. In Georgetown, they are somewhat apathetic. They close all the windows but one. The area and building looks like a little hell hole. The menu is faded. They take your order, go back to talking to the co workers, then make your order slowly. You feel abandoned, made worse by the lack of custard. At least the custard is just so delicious. I think it tastes a little better still at the cedar park cypress location. But it’s still just top notch custard. Who would get a blizzard at Dairy Queen if there’s a shakes right there? Oh right! The Georgetown location is barely open! The have very limited hours despite the growing nightlife in downtown Georgetown. I’d give them two stars but the custard is just so freaking tasty!

I cannot accurately depict my love for this place with words. So delish. My fav combo is coffee flavor with Oreo. My ONLY complaint(actually a crucial tid bit) is their cups. We always get these to go and put in our freezer for later in the evening AND they do not give lids. The cup spills everywhere. Total mess that these clean freaks HATE. Obviously we keep going back, but we would truly appreciate a change up in their container choice. Please and thank you ;)

We have been there many times. I love this place too much! Their vanilla or chocolate mixed with fresh fruit is perfection, but then so is their hot fudge sauce. The staff are all very nice as well.

Wow… I’ve had frozen custard before but only on hot pie at restaurants. By the time it’d get to me, it was half melted, so I could never understand what the hype was about since it seemed like ice cream to me. Finally decided to check this place out to get the real custard experience. Mind blown… NOW I get what the hype is about. The frozen custard here is denser, smoother, and creamier than regular ice cream… Awesome. I’m a fan. Shake’s has got amazing variety, sundaes, shaved ice, and a drive-thru! Our server was very friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

No more ice cream for me; just custard from now on. Ok that’s a lie, but this shit really is the best shit you ever goddamn had. I like all of their concretes, but even a vanilla cone is enough to drop my panties. Last week Boyfriend and I were in Round Rock so we had to make a detour just so’s he could try some. We asked if they had any pumpkin left, but the lady(donno her name but she’s been there forever) said it was out of season. She shut the drive thru window, and when she popped back out she gave us a huge container of pumpkin they had left over. BAM. how’s that for awesome customer service, lady who gave ONE star? I’ve been going here since my HS days, and have never gotten shitty service. SO we all need to go here to keep this place up and running! Dont ruin my childhood memories! I can’t sit by and watch this place turn into a Cricket, dammit!

What the heck? FROZENCUSTARD!!! YES, PLEASE! Went through the drive thru ‘cuz we didn’t want to leave our air conditioned car and step out into the hot Texan weather. What we swallowed: DRUMSTICKCONCRETESHAKE: Rich, decadent, creamy frozen custard. It’s like a super dense, super creamy cold and delicious vanilla malt. Add your deconstructed drumstick: peanuts, chocolate chips, and crushed sugar cones. Concrete ‘cuz you spoon definitely stands up in it’s cup. WINNER! LEMONSWIRL: This was like a super lemony icee. It was tart and refreshing and had really strong(in a good way) lemony flavors. If you like lemony stuff, this one is good too. I have a sweet toof and I really liked this place. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

I’ve been to shakes many times over the years. Their ice cream and concretes are good, lots of choices. But the reason I give them one star is because of their service. A year or so ago my husbands family and I stopped for a treat. After halfway through our ice cream my(at the time) 4 year old niece needed to use the restroom. The staff was very rude about her using the restroom, and eventually my brother in law had to walk down the street to DQ in order for her to go. It was such a small and silly thing, but the way the staff acted was ridiculous. So a year later I decide to give them another shot this past Sunday night. Ice cream was good… the peach concrete was yummy! But again, the staff put a bad taste in my mouth. First thing that happened was my cousin was thirsty and wanted water. We already had a cup of water we brought from the pool, so I asked the guy behind the counter if he could fill it up in the sink. He charged me 25 cents! So i paid the 25 cents, assuming that meant I was going to get a new glass of water, but nope, he just filled my cup with tap water. Next, at closing time, we were still enjoying our ice cream, caught up in conversation. Next thing we know all the lights are turned out on us! They could have atleast warned us so we could head to the car! I’m officially done with Shakes. I will keep my ice cream cravings from DQ or Sonic.

We stopped by here this afternoon on the way home from Lake Georgetown. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, having never been here before. I picked out a raspberry concrete. Pretty decent. I think I prefer a good ice cream(such as Amy’s) over frozen custard. I did enjoy the raspberry in the concrete very much. When I ordered it, I was thinking that it would probably be artificial flavoring, but it was the real deal… seeds and all! So all in all, it was A-OK…but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back there. If I was in the neighborhood, I just might stop :-)

Oh man this place is to die for!!! This is how real custard is supposed to taste, not like the knock off(Freddy’s). They serve all kinds of sweet treats, and boy are they sweet! The cakes are AMAZING! I got one made for my hubby: vanilla custard with cookie dough! yumo! gotta try it, you won’t be disappointed! :)
