So very bad. The entire restaurant smelled like dirty socks. The fresh spring rolls had lunch meat in them. The«vermicelli» bowl consisted of shredded iceberg lettuce, thick rice noodles, and a couple of tablespoons of chicken. The kicker was when the cook came out from the back to get an toothpick and then proceeded to clean her teeth. Steer clear of this place.

Like others before me, I came here to eat Phở. Per Unilocal, this was my best shot at at taming the beast deep within me — AKA my phở addiction. I ordered a large bowl of rare steak and brisket phở and wasn’t too impressed with what I got. While service was semi-friendly and fairly fast, my bowl of phở was just ok. It arrived steaming hot and the broth had a nice color and aroma, with strong hints of star anise filling my nose. That’s about as good as it got. I always taste my broth before adding anything as some phở broths are good enough to stand alone without having to add anything extra. That wasn’t the case here. While the broth was ok, it was definitely lacking the depth and complexity of flavor that makes a great phở broth. Needless to say, I added almost everything they offered — lots of hot pil, siracha, hoysin, lime, basil, jalepeno, and sprouts. Even then, it was still a pretty mediocre bowl of phở. The potrions were good and the cuts of meat were fresh and of pretty good quality. The sprouts and basil were both fresh as well. Service was pretty good for how busy it was and parking was fairly ample as well. I hit the outlets at least once a year and I doubt I will be back here soon.

Phở is very cheap! Broth is not bad, noodles are average and meat is good. Fried chicken appetizers are nice and crunchy and drinks are really sweet. Only complaint is the water 4⁄10

Beef was tough and chewy. Difficult to eat. The place was crowded surprisingly. I personally would not come back again.

Sucks that this is the only decent Phở place here in gilroy. If it wasn’t for the food I’d give it a 1star but their service here is awful! Consider yourself lucky if you get your order in. And don’t count on getting more water, bring your own. Only 3 people work here, not including the person in the back. This place gets pretty packed on weekends.

I’m not a person to write reviews nor have I ever written one but if your are looking for a good quality phở that will satisfy your tastes buds with the good quality services that your deserve this place is not it. There was a(live) ant on the brim of my soups, they made me wait 15−20minutes when it was clearly not busy and to top it off I had the bubble guts after. But that’s just me up to you guys

Decent bowl of phở. The restaurant is clean and large. Prices are way below San Jose.

This place is conveniently located near the Gilroy Outlets and fresh and delicious ph hits the spot after shopping every time! The service is good, prices great, food is absolutely yummy! Their combination bean drink and smoothies are wonderful year-round but especially during the hot summer months! Definitely coming back!

Garbage tasteless vomit. Been to many Viet spots and this place takes the ph out of phở. I compair it to carnival food. The carnival is Gilroy outlets and the food is what your stuck with because of the location. If you’re looking for a better bowl of soup head over to 1st Street and check out the Viet/Thai spot. You’re soup might actually have flavor.

The only Vietnamese restaurant throughout the Bay Area where I’ll order the #2(Spring rolls) w/shrimp I know. Basic? However, I’ve tried a few other places where they serve spring rolls and they add a bunch of unwanted herbs such as mint leaves, basil leaves, cilantro sprigs and so forth. This specific phở serves up the #2 with delicious and simple ingredients just how I prefer! Can’t forget the dipping peanut sauce that is tasty enough to go with the spring rolls. Service is quickly responsive to my needs! :)

Other than walking in — being yelled at with«how many!» right off the bat and un-bused tables are probably the one things I find wrong with the place. This is the only decent phở restaurant in my hometown of Gilroy so what more can you ask for? Located next to a Jamba Juice and Best Buy, you can get dessert(a smoothie) and walk off your lunch and/or dinner! The phở is good and my go-to is a medium #8. It’s also cash only! You’ve been warned. Happy eating!

I did appreciate that this restaurant was very clean and not cramped at all. I can’t complain about the service because let’s be real, this is an Asian restaurant. I think I actually got pretty good service: my order came out quickly, nothing was missing or messed up. I got the large steak phở(#23) and shared spring rolls with my family. The spring rolls didn’t have enough flavor, even with the peanut sauce. I think it needs some carrots and bay leaves. The steak phở wasn’t that great. There wasnt that much beef and it was really dry and overcooked. At least they didn’t put much MSG unlike other phở places. Their large is pretty big for $ 6.70 and it’s filling so I can’t complain about that. Hmm, I’d say this place is more like 3.5 stars. Not the best phở I’ve had but for Gilroy I’m sure it’s as good as it gets. I’ll probably be back but I’ll try other dishes instead, like their #14 phở.

Giving four stars because good phở at a great price. Nice size portions too. Would be five stars if they accepted credit cards and had better service.

Revised: Food was okay. Not the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. Fresh Spring Rolls weren’t fresh, the noodles in my Bun where under cooked, the beef was greasy, and they showed up with my Thai ice tea when I was almost through with my meal. And I didn’t find out that they were cash only until I was ready to pay Woke up with cold sweats diarrhea finally through up at 4:30 this morning.

Decent phở, horrible service, but what are you going to do? There are no other options in Gilroy and this place gets crazy busy during lunchtime. The people who own the restaurant seem decent enough, but their servers are terrible and just don’t care — they’ll plunk down the bowls of soup and shout out a number — too bad if it was supposed to go to someone else at your table or was just the wrong order period. I like the phở tai and the coconut juice is really good.

This was hands down the BEST phở I have ever had! The broth was so yummy I almost finished it all!!! I will be back for sure! The staff couldn’t keep tables cleaned fast enough for the people coming in ! Must try place for sure

This review is for the phở. After a midday Costco excursion, I suggested to my mom that we try this place because neither of us had tried it before. Figured it couldn’t be that bad with its 3.5 star average on Unilocal, right? Wrong. The phở here is by far the worst that I’ve ever had. I ordered a phở dac biet xe lua, which is the large version of the bowl that has every sort of meat in it. The first disappointment that I tasted was the broth. There was very little character to it. It lacked all the spices that you expect from a good phở broth, as well as the umami taste you would expected for anything derived from meat or even with MSG. I would have been happier drinking from a can of chicken broth. The meat did not lend any flavor either. It accounted for the other big disappointment, actually. As anybody who ever eats meat can tell you, you need to cut against the grain to have good flavor. These guys cut perfectly with the grain for some reason. Also, the tendon came in oddly shaped chunks instead of thinly sliced pieces like you would expect from a good phở restaurant in San Jose. The prices aren’t bad, and the bean sprouts and basil leaves are fresh, but they frankly do not matter when I would not pay at all to have anything like this ever again. Just go to San Jose or even Morgan Hill if you need a phở fix, or put your cravings aside and eat somewhere tastier like the Jack in the Box across the street.

Living in the San Jose area for the majority of my life definitely gives you a new perspective on authentic phở. Okay maybe that’s not entirely true, but I guess it has made me picky when I go out of my way to look for it. This place physically doesn’t look to different from any other phở restaurant; huge pictures of their appetizers and phở as well as some TVs scattered around here and there. Oh and let’s not forget about ‘Cash Only”. Anyways, there wasn’t too many people when me and my friends arrived for lunch on a Monday. Same old story, someone comes up to take your order after looking at your menu for 20 seconds. I’m pretty quick when it comes to phở so this wasn’t a problem. The food arrived quickly(as expected) and the flavors were pretty good. I had to adjust to broth with a little more hoisin sauce, but it turned out the way I liked my phở. We all ordered larges and what can I say, the bowls were huge! On the other hand, the contents within the bowl were surely lacking; I expected a good amount of noodles and meat but it seemed like they put a small(or perhaps a medium) serving in a large bowl. Overall, this place is decent in terms of its phở; I just wish their portions were bigger. HOWEVER, this place is definitely cheaper than other phở restaurants as we only spent around $ 18 for three people!

En route to Norcal, we stopped by to grab for some grub. I remembered this place fondly from my younger years, as I used to come and eat with the parents from our drives to and from LA. The employees were friendly and had us seated right away. We ordered and quickly got: Phở dac biet: The broth was lighter than I remembered and didn’t have as much beef flavor as MSG. I think they used beef boullion(however you spell it) with a good dash of MSG instead of the old school stewing for forever and a day. Rice with pork skin, egg, and grilled pork: I asked to nix the rice and add more veggies to make it a salad, but the lady didn’t understand me. There was a meager half handful of pork skin, and the egg and grilled pork went to the bf, who loved it. Grilled pork was flavorful and on the saltier side, and the egg nice and hot, but I honestly got the dish for the pork skin… the rest was just too much for me. Ironically, I liked the bf’s phở dish more and he liked my rice dish. Neither was as amazing as I remembered, and I’m not sure I’d come here again on my drives up and down Cali.
