We ate at Pineapple Village for the first time on Jan 26. Our server, Kristal, was terrific — friendly, attentive and helpful. When we were asked if we wanted drinks, my wife asked for plum wine but they didn’t have any — she settled for an unfiltered sake which she liked very much. They also provided water which was surprisingly and delightfully flavored with cucumber, pineapple and lemon, but only a hint. For appetizers, we had the chicken satay and the Gold Bahn Tom. The satay was very good but the Gold Bahn Tom was killer — shrimp deep fried in a yam batter with a marvelous aioli sauce. The portions were quite adequate; in fact, we probably could have shared a third appetizer and called it a meal. The Gold Banh Tom was served on a bed of lettuce and cucumber seasoned with a wonderful sesame dressing. Our server let us know that they sell that dressing separately. We bought a quart container of the dressing from them for $ 4. For entrees, my wife had the Ocean FIve seafood dish, I had the Volcano Chicken. The Ocean Five contains stir-fried scallop, shrimp, calamari, crab and mussel with basil, onions and peppers. It was delicious and immense; my wife could barely make a dent in it before having to ask for a box. The Volcano Chicken is described as a spicy dish on their menu( ) but their idea of spicy is my idea of tame. The breaded chicken was served over cabbage slaw with a delicious sesame sauce(with which they could have been a little more generous.) I look forward to returning here often and trying their other dishes.

I do love it when we have a great«find» on Unilocal! Had the roti parathas for starters, one each for Hubby and me, and they were worth every penny! In fact 2 of them would have made a perfect meal for me! The curry sauce for dipping was amazing, and the rotis were fresh and delicious. I did the Tofu and veggie curry and hubby had a chicken curry. Both delish. We’ll be going back to this place. Service was good as well. The guy replaced my flavored water with regular, but Hubby thought the flavored stuff was great. He came back to check on our meals after a couple of minutes. I always appreciate that as if you have a problem, it’s annoying if you are left hanging. Would definitely recommend this place. It’s in an outdoor mall area and there was plenty of parking, at least there was on a Saturday lunch time. … It’s now 3 weeks later and we’ve already been back twice, even though it’s a 30 mile drive from home. YES, it’s that good! Hubby did the green curry fried rice tonight and I had the chicken chow mein. Best chow mein I have had in years. We also tried the veggie spring rolls. I cannot rave about this place enough. If you like Thai food, you have to try this place.

Fresh, delicious and satisfying! my husband ordered the teriyaki chicken. it was tastey, but ciuld have used a bit more of a grill. My szecuan chicken was our favorite. The fried rice tasted light and fluffy, plenty of fried egg and a spice flavoring that was unique. Good service too.

Love this place so much! I always try to stop by when I’m in town and get their honey sesame chicken and the money bags, and they are absolutely delicious! I’m a huge Asian food lover and this is probably my favorite place to eat at in the South Bay! Great prices, great food, can’t go wrong!

We tried to like this place. Twice. Both times it was a fail. The good: cute place, seemed clean, friendly wait staff, hand washing sinks outside the bathroom The bad: The food is almost flavorless. I ordered the drunken noodles & couldn’t even detect the flavor of Thai basil(but the beef was quality). It tasted more like phad see ew. My SE Asian husband ordered the pineapple fried rice. Pine nuts? In Thai style fried rice? It mattered not. Barely any flavor to speak of. At least we know there wasn’t MSG or it would have tasted like something. ;) Sigh. We won’t be back.

It’s hard to find a place that has large portions. This place is where you want to go for some decent size portions. The coconut Thai soup is spicey but not to spicey. The Mango Momo beef dish comes hot and ready to eat with nice size cubes of tender beef. Good place really happy about this place.

If this place was being rated on setting, customer service, and décor alone I’d give 5 stars. Our server was very tentative and helpful. Ordered the pineapple fried rice and the chicken was flavorless. I’m a huge fan of Thai food. Maybe if they cook it all fresh together the food would taste a little better. The chicken is precooked so yeah. This place wouldn’t last in SF. Considering the area not bad. I’d be willing to try something else and come here again.

Went to this place with my GF and two friends for the first time last night. Very nice décor, good size, not too large. Wait staff was pleasant, we received our food quickly. First, it was cold outside, and the wait staff left a door open for about a minute, just enough to let a lot of cold air into the very small restaurant. I had to get up and ask them to close the door. Really? We ordered three appetizers: calamari, egg rolls and Roti bread. The calamari was enough to share for two people, but the helping of roti bread was pretty ridiculous. It was essentially one flat tortilla bread that has been cooked and put on a dish. $ 3 for one cooked tortilla bread? Ever tried sharing one little piece of bread with four people? You feel like a homeless dude. Ordered drinks and three large main dishes to share, one of which was the volcano chicken. Tasted great, but everything on the table came to a grinding halt when my friend found a gnarly 15 inch black hair inside his piece of chicken. This really disgusted everyone at the table as we watched him pull it out slowly. The long hair was inside of the breaded chicken so it happened in the kitchen. I wasn’t looking to get a free ride, I really just wanted to have a good time with my friends. The restaurant put some extra food in a take out bag, and billed us for the full meal. That’s not the reaction I would have given to a customer. Quite the opposite, I would have immediately comped at least part of the meal or offered a free dessert. The side effect of finding such a huge hair in the food was disgust. If you find an eyelash in your food, it’s gross, but ok I guess that could happen. This was just grossly improper food preparation and negligence. Lord only knows what else was in our food that you could not detect.

First time here, in town for work. Trying Sizzling Vegies in special sauce with side of rice(not included in price). Staff very friendly and accommodating. First bites Very tasty, wonderful aroma. Nice variety of veggies. First few bites very good, then flavor began to fade. Something to brighten and provide variety in the bites would be welcomed. I suppose I prefer kefir lime, lemongrass, Thai basil, or coconut based style dishes to bring me back. $ 13 plus tax & tip. so-so for $ 17 meal. Meal would not bring me back.

The first time I ate here was with my daughter in law and Granddaughter’s the food was great, I could have made a meal out of the Potsticker alone, because they were the best ones I’ve had. The other dishes were also excellent. The second time I had food from here was when my son ordered take out, again each dish was excellent, I will definitely come back again and highly recommend you try it out for yourself

Came here again last night. It sure didn’t disappoint. Got our usual Won Ton Soup(best I’ve ever had), Sea Salad(perfect when you pour both dressing AND vinegar, or else it’s too light)…but we tried two new dishes: Leaf from Chiang Mai(noodle) — it’s kind of a small serving Kung Pao Beef OMG…PEEERRFECT! It was so good. I don’t think I see the Kung Pao on the menu… not sure, but the waitress once recommended it to us. We finally got to try it. I think it’s better than Mango a Mo Mo. And something about squeezing that lemon over the noodles — the taste was yummy! Got a side of white rice and requested pickled chilis in fish sauce — BEWARE — not for the faint hearted. It’s the kind of chili like in Thai restaurants that’s so spicy but you can’t stop eating it. I remembered asking for this before but no one seemed to know. Make sure to ask the«boss» lady — you’ll know who she is. And a big PLUS — my husband LOVESLOVESLOVES their BUDDHABEER.

Roti is the best thing since sliced bread! Yummy! We came here when it was fairly new. Loved all the décor. Loved the table setting. I remember ordering the pineapple fried rice. I thought it was the cutest thing that it was served in an actual pineapple. Had pineapple chunks too. The biggest downside was that it was sooo greasy. Everything was greasy. For entrees, we went with lemon chicken and basil chicken. The food is not bad. I’m just a big hater when it comes to food with extra grease. Probably one of the better restaurants in Gilroy.

After a long few days of having adventures all around northern California my wife and I were driving back home to Los Angeles. We were hungry and took to Unilocal in search of a fun place to eat as we passed thru Gilroy. She’s a strict vegetarian and I’m a much more lenient vegetarian(I’ve been known to eat my fair share of chicken lately). Pineapple Village had both of our bases covered with an excellent menu with vegetarian and carnivorous options. She got the honey sesame veggie«prawns» and I got the veggie version of their Volcano«chicken.» Both were delicious. Truthfully it was some of the best food we had on our trip and I would happily visit Gilroy again just to go to Pineapple Village.

Found this place searching on Unilocal.Thank you, Unilocalers! They are located within the Nob Hill shopping complex and parking is not an issue. A great place to stop by after a day of shopping at the Outlets. The place is pretty modern looking and the servers are nice. Been here twice now. Our recent visit we had Mango Momo and the Spicy Eggplant. The amount they provide is more than a lot of Thai restaurants. And the food is scrumptious. Oh, we had the Roti Prata also. I prefer the thinner version; theirs is thicker. The price is reasonable for Thai, I believe. And again, they provide you with a hearty portion. I will certainly go this way again when I’m in the mood for Asian cuisine.

LOVETHISPLACE! I’ve come here many times for eat in and take out! The lunches are great because they come with rice, a salad, an entrée, and a little side of potsticker, golden money bags or eggrolls. The dinners are family style and I usually get the pineapple fried rice, the lemon chicken or honey walnut shrimp, and the strawberry pork ribs. Also make sure to get the Roti bread, the dipping sauce is AMAZINGONEVERYTHING(or at least I think so). The service has always been friendly and attentive and I’ve never had a bad meal or experience. I’ll keep coming back!

Came here with a large group(11 people) on Friday night, and was able to make a reservation about an hour beforehand. We chose this place because a few people in our group were craving pad thai, and there don’t seem to be a lot of Thai places to choose from in the area. Unfortunately, the pad thai didn’t hit the spot — and we tried both the meat and veggie versions. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t pad thai, more of a generic stir-fry with noodles. Also, a couple people’s drinks never got delivered. Oh well. However, the curries were really good, as were the appetizers — we got the roti(which came with a truly delicious sauce) and the garlic calamari. I’d go again if I wasn’t in the mood for pad thai.

We drove up from Monterey to try a new place. We found good reviews on Unilocal so decided give it a try. We were not disappointed. The ambience was relaxing, décor was upscale and posh and the music was perfectly matched for Asian Fusion. Appetizers included: Golden Money Ballz, delicious and served with a thai aioli. Deep fried and served on fresh cabbage. A steal at $ 6. Pot Stickers, served upside down fresh out of the pan they were fried in. They come round with a thin layer of egg whites. The last was Roti Prata, the best of the three. It is Nan bread that is thinly layered. Almost a crosant like texture but in Nan form. Delicious. The main course was Pad Thai, Mango Momo, and Pineapple Village Curry. All three were prepared perfectly. The best was the Mango Momo. Thin slices of beef with mango slices. Slightly spicy with the cool sweet flavor of mango. Desert was coconut cheese cake. Wow, homemade and served with a coconut glaze. Pretty amazing. We will definitely return to try a few other dishes. Overall it was great experience.

We were heading south on 101 and decided to stop somewhere for lunch. Pineapple Village is about a 10 minute drive from 101, so not exactly right off the highway but worth it if you’re willing to find a sit-down restaurant. It’s also off the same exit as the outlets so it’s a good option over In-N-Out or other food options in that area. Pretty trendy Thai fusion restaurant in the middle of Gilroy. We stopped by just after it had opened(11am) and the restaurant was empty. Both of us went with the lunch bento — a good price for a filling lunch. Both of us went with the Golden Money Bag, a deeeeelicious appetizer. I chose Mango Momo since Volcano Chicken isn’t available in the lunch bento selection(highly recommend this one!). J went with Village Curry Chicken with a 0-spicy level but it was still a bit too spicy for her palate. All in all, lunch was delicious and we especially enjoyed it with the not-too-sweet Thai Ice Tea. Service is attentive and we enjoyed the lunch bento for $ 9.
