Applebee’s

Came in today hoping to just have a few drinks and relax with my sister… Once we came in no one was at he door to greet & seat us so we say at the bar… Secondly I was a tad bit upset because we were carded but no one else who came in wasn’t carded. The bartender J Mac didn’t I stand me about my drink order. Then what really upset me and my sister was We are highly & severely allergic to mushrooms… We ordered the Bourbon Street Chicken with out mushrooms one with mashed potatoes the other with roasted. He came back out with 2 meals with mushrooms on them and we instantly sent them back without touching them… Also «j Mac» stood in front of us and took a shot of brown liquor which was not professional at all not pleased with my food or the service!!! It’s safe to say I WILL NEVER COME TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN!!!

Caesar Salad is made with romaine lettuce, not iceberg. Nor is dressing dumped on in a blob. DO NOT GET THE CEASAR!!!

Brownie bite was great!!! Wrap was overdone and hard and the ceasar was NOT a ceasar.

Charles greeted us warmly and helped us enjoy our dining experience. Beer, thai shrimp salad, and good conversation. Can’t go wrong.

This was the worst Applebee’s I ever went to. Our server (Justin/​Dustin/​some name) was a total failure who let us down. After taking our drink order he forgot to get us our beer and we had to remind him after waiting for over 20 mins. Appetizers came 35 mins after the order was placed and considering the fact that the restaurant was half empty that was not acceptable. All this time our server never cared to check on us, did not provide an update about our order and was hiding some where and was not seen in the restaurant.

Good food for cheap. Hubby and u love the oriental salad with fried chicken. It’s a big salad and it comes with a yummy sweet dressing. I love the curbside to go. It’s a great way to feed the family without leaving your vehicle and having to deal with disruptive children in the restaurant. They have great appetizers. Good deals like
3 items/​$ 12. Great desserts too.

This location is just awful… Our waitress (a manager) was clearly unhappy to be there that day and had a constant face like she had something really smelly under her nose… She didn’t refill our drinks (the other manager wearing a bright blue top had to do it), she didn’t give us cutlery, she gave us TWO napkins (family of four) when we asked for napkins… The food was overpriced for the kind of establishment this is… That and it was terrible… The broccoli and cheese soup was oily mush, my burger patty was dry and bland, and my son’s grilled cheese was on very stale bread… Will not be returning to this location.

I hadn’t been to Applebee’s in a while so my girlfriend and I figured we would give it another try. I was kind of disappointed. To start, we were escorted to our table which was right next to another family. This isn’t a problem, but the restaurant wasn’t that busy and it was awkward for both us and the other party. We were able to move, but we were then disappointed with how loud the music was. Our waitress was really nice and checked on us a few times. I had the Clubhouse Grille which had good flavor and was a decent size. The pretzels were also delicious. This restaurant wouldnt be my first choice given the other options in the area.

New menu… Will miss their queso and chips! sirarchi shrimp good sauce, little bready but okay. Chipolte quesadillas plain. French onion soup excellent. Found leftover trash behind one of the table tents from prior diners. Got unsweet vrs sweet tea. Sever never cleared the extra two place settings. Tried to flag our server (to get the sweet tea) the hostess and another server sitting at a table across from us, noticed my flagging asked if I wanted her, I said no, I was trying to flag my server, she said okay and they went back to chatting. Trying to leave, same two girls plus another server chatting away with a girlfriend, blocking the steps, after a couple moments standing there I had to excuse myself to get by. Where was the manager on duty tonight? It was not busy. Wont be back for a while, hopefully the staff will turn over or get better trained before we do.

Got in right away. Our server was nice, just seemed a little nervous. But that’s okay.
Server brought out a humongous glass of drink for my 6 year old. He kind of gave me a look and then asked, «Should I come back with a kids cup?» Yes, thank you, because she is a kid. lol.
Ordered chips and salsa. Wanted the appetizer to come out before dinner so that the kids could eat something I mean it’s chips and salsa. How hard is that to throw together? apparently, it’s hard. Needless to say it came out with the food. fail.
My drink went unfilled, finally came out to fill it. Noisy staff, heard some expletives by their order machine. Saw numerous drinks on other tables not being filled, but the employees had a table to themselves, goofing off and drinking their filled drinks.
Food was so-​so. We won’t be coming back… I haven’t been to an Applebees in 5 years, now I know why, especially in Virginia Center Commons.

Filthy and food was terrible. Will not be returning to this Applebee’s. Staff acted like they had partied to much the night before

My fam & I were sat at a dirty table, which I let the host know who asked if we wanted her to wipe it off, really? Staff was socializing at the bar, had to flag down the server twice who didn’t keep an eye on our table while she was talking to others at the bar. She did keep keep up with refills-​good. The onion soup looked really bad, like dirty dish water and the croutons had almost dissolved completely. Didn’t see many onions. The taste was better than it looked, which was ok. The glasses felt grainy as if they hadn’t been cleaned well before they dried. I would never choose to eat here. The last time I ate at a Applebees (not this location) the glasses were also dirty. I would rather eat at home anyday.

I struggled with 2 or 3 stars, but I’m going with three in comparison to other chains and other Applebee’s locations. It’s a chain, and like most chains, nothing is stellar. not the food, the service, the location or the atmosphere. But for an Applebee’s, this location didn’t have any issues when we visited.
IMHO, you get what you think you’ll get from a national chain. mediocre food, mediocre service and a mediocre atmosphere. If that’s what you’re looking for, stop on by!

I’ve been putting off making this review because I wasn’t sure what to say. I am in love with the Applebee’s Half Price appetizers promotion which leads me to visit once a month. Between this location and the one in Ashland I would heartily recommend this one. I’ve had several good experiences here but my last visit wasn’t one. I had a server who sat us, asked for our drink order and told us to take our time. When she came back with our drinks and we were about to order, she told us to take our time again and walked away quickly cutting us off and telling us to take our time. I guess she needed some nicotine because she disappeared for 10 minutes and when she returned she smelled like smoke; something I always enjoy in a smoke free establishment. Of course to make this visit worst, the diet coke was horrid tasting something like cough syrup, and one order of wonton tacos were stone cold while the other was hot and fresh. I would have told my server about these issues but she seemed to disappear constantly with at least 10 minutes in between each checkup. Which would explain why I had to ask others for help regarding my drink, food, and getting my bill. As I said I’ve been here several times and it’s been wonderful up until now. While I won’t stop visiting this location (I’ve experienced MUCH worst at other locations) I will avoid this specific server and even ask to be moved to another section if need be. Overall my earlier experiences still allow me to recommend this place, but if my future experiences continue to resemble this one, I will update this review.
