I love this place, the food is amazing!!! The boss lady is a bit rude though to her customers otherwise id give it 5 stars. Despite that i keep going back because i just cant keep away. Also the food consistency changes from time to time. Ive been there like 15 times. Once the fries were served cold, i just jad them send a new batch. One other time the burger didnt taste as well as it usually does. Im thinking maybe the main chef is off some nights but w. e the deal or whoever the step in chef is, they should consider looking into that. Makes me sad when i dont get what i paid for.

On a gloomy, rainy night, I was out and about with the lady and we decided to check out burgerworks, having seen it and never stopping in, and after giving it a try, neither of us were disappointed. We both got bison burgers, never having tried bison before and we enjoyed the unique taste of bison. We also got bacon cheddar fries, which were both plentiful and delicious. Portions were very generous and the food was great. I would say if you want burger Bach but don’t want to spend quite as much, burgerworks will definitely not disappoint.

Great burgers and selection of healthy toppings! Great ambience and friendly/fast service. Known for the bison burger but beef and turkey always solid. Trying the chicken burger today. Always go with the classic bun. Today trying on spring mix for something different. Also awesome shakes and onion rings.

Parmesan fries are a must! They are delicious. Be aware a small or regular order is an entire basket and can feed 2 people. Burgers are good.(Not great) the meat wasn’t very flavorful it’s all about the toppings. Which all fall off and you get a big mess. Milkshakes are typical, nothing special. Defiantly a good lunch spot when your feeling a burger.

Legitimate establishment. Very well put together atmosphere. I actually thought it was a higher end chain restaurant. I am a Texas boy, so we do things big and this place met every expectation. Great Bison burger and the the double is HUGE. Most of all the staff and the manager here were as friendly and hospitable as they come. I will be back!

This place has THEBEST burgers in the area. They are delicious and perfectly cooked. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are very friendly. I love their fries too! I usually get the basic cheeseburger and my husband gets the SOB burger. We love this place.

This place used to rank in my top 3 places for a good burger in RVA but on my most recent visit, it’s been knocked off my list. I got the S.O.B naked, on a bed of lettuce. They cooked my patty perfectly to a medium rare but the seasoning of the patty wasn’t there. Luckily, I got a small cup of spicy mayo which helped with the burger. I also got an order of the parmesan fries and those were just okay as well… these used to be some of the best fries I have ever had. This time around, they just tasted like any regular old fries. I am not sure if their recipes have changed or anything, but the next time I am craving a burger, I think I’ll consider somewhere else. SN: a regular order of fries can easily be split between two people, or just order a small version of your fries.

Went recently for first time in about a year. Disappointed… burgers seemed small with little in the way of toppings and price way too high. $ 20 for 2 burgers(1 being a classic) and 1 portion of fries. No drinks! I think Carytown Burgers and Fries in Short Pump is a better option.

Wanted to try something new. Saw this place and ordered a burger. Good and juicy. A little higher on the price scale but I suppose that is due to the fact that everything is cooked once you order so that it’s fresh. But burgers were thick and juicy. Next time I’ll have to try a milkshake and fries

I have gone to Burgerworks twice — once during RVA Burger Week and once today. The first time, I got a Gyro Burger and ordered over the phone. I entered through the Take Out door, but it took a good long time before the cashier could service me, and by the time I paid for my order, my bag(which was literally right on the counter), was pretty cold. My bun also had a large, noticeable mold spot right on top, which made me wary. I gave Burgerworks another try today with a large order of fries and a make-you-own burger. The food is not expensive on a person by person basis, and in fact there were several business gatherings there for lunch, so it must be pretty convenient during lunch time in Glen Allen. The burger was OK. It wasn’t bad, but nothing about it stuck out. I ask for a bed-of-lettuce(breadless) option, and was instead given a King Sized mattress of lettuce, which unfortunately drowned out much of the flavour of the patty. If you are looking to avoid a bun, I’d recommend just not getting any at all and eating it like protein on a plate, with forks and knives. The fries, however, are out of this world. It has a Five Guys feel to it(potato skin still on), but there is less grease. On the sauce counter, there is malt vinegar, ketchup, and hot sauce, so make your fries how you want them. I would recommend going there just for the fries.

I’d like to start off by saying, the staff here is extremely pleasant and the service is usually quite speedy. I also like that the dining area is spacious and always clean. However, I don’t know what happened within the past month or so, but there was definitely a change in the food at Burgerworks and unfortunately, it was not for the better. The thing that doesn’t make sense to me is that they have really good quality meat and toppings, but even with that, everything just seems bland. At first, I thought it was just me, so being that I’m forgiving, I tried them a few more times and I even brought my girlfriend with me. Sadly, neither of us were impressed. I’m sure if they seasoned their meat a little better, that would help. But the problem is even more noticeable with the fries. Not only were the cheddar bacon fries bland, but so were the parmesan fries. We love fries and it’s rare that we don’t finish them, but we were so disappointed during our last visit that we threw away about 30% of the fries. To make matters even worse, we were not impressed with any of their frie sauces. There’s a decent variety to choose from, but as for the taste, Burgerworks sauces just don’t measure up to what some of the competitors have to offer. I hate writing negative reviews, but I eat a lot of burgers and fries. Yes, Burgerworks has the quality, but I honestly feel more satisfied when I go to Five Guys or even Ruby Tuesdays/TGI Fridays. Hell, if you don’t mind spending a couple extra dollars, Burger Bach is the place to go, imo.

I’ve passed by this place several times, and finally went in with the bf. It was just okay for me. I’m vegetarian, so keep this in mind. As far as the vegetarian option, there is just a portabella mushroom cap as a substitute for a burger. I would like to have at least a black bean patty as an additional option. The toppings were good and the price was decent. Nothing fancy on the inside. I had an order of the sweet potato chips. They were not very good. Very dry, and the honey and sugar topping didn’t really blend as well as I thought it would. Everything tasted very separate. The fries were also just okay. Not horrible, but definitely super. It’s rare that my bf and I leave any fries in the basket when we order them… and I would say we threw out about 30%. The place is very clean and the service is really nice. You order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. There are 3 TVs and they were all on different channels to offer a variety. Overall, it’s okay, but not super impressive. Not sure I would go back on my own.

The atmosphere is a bit intimidating to me at first as it looks more like a place that would shame you for not ordering a kale salad. Not true in reality, thankfully. You get to check off a list of whatever you want on a custom burger if you want. So you can order it as unhealthy(delicious) as you want it with no shame! My wife and I stuffed ourselves to the point of medical worry with goodness then left fat and happy. We’ll just me, my wife left beautiful and happy.

This was our first time visiting this location as we were traveling through. The place is huge and the staff is nice and helpful. The burger was not all that but they do give you a lot of fries. I am not sure we will be coming back because it seemed like another burger joint to me.

It’s #RVABurgerweek and this was my first stop of the week. This was my second time eating here and it makes me think why don’t I come her more often to get a burger. I got the burger that was on special for the week which was the frito chili pie burger. Man was this thing good and messy. Smothered with chili, onions and fritos. The patty itself was cooked properly, nice and juicy, and the fries were hot, fresh and crispy. Had to pass on the cheese because I can’t have it, but none the less it was an amazing burger. Service was amazing as well, although there is not a wait staff, staff members were walking around making sure you were doing ok, and if there was something that you wanted they were willing to get it for you. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a fresh hand formed burger. Price can be a little high if you’re building your own burger, but let me tell you, it is going to be money well spent.

Just finished another great meal experience at Burgerworks. Snuck in early before the after work crowd arrived. Ordered the original beef burger and my guest had the turkey burger. Both cooked perfectly. Blue Bell Ice Cream Milkshakes rounded out the meal and wowza were they good! Customer Service is on point here as usual. Great, helpful, and friendly staff. Good job Burgerworks!

Always delicious burgers, always amazing fries, and always a friendly staff. A place that can be counted on for a consistently good meal and experience. I highly recommend The Bird turkey burger. It’s absolutely delicious. Fries are enough to share. My wife and I love getting an extra side of chipotle ranch to dip the fries in. Looking for a bite for lunch or dinner? I highly recommend Burgerworks

Stopped in at Burger Works for a late dinner. One thing that I’ve realized is that I become impatient waiting for my food here. I think it’s because it feels like a fast food place but they don’t actually have food already prepared. Which is a good thing, don’t get me wrong. This time I called the order in on my way and it was ready and waiting when I got there in 10 minutes. I highly recommend doing that if you are as impatient as me. I just got a regular burger and fries and although it was ordered ahead of time it was still hot and fresh. I’m apparently a burger person as I’m learning more and more these days, and it was excellent. The fries are fresh cut and always tasty. I also learned they don’t mind if people come in just to sit for a minute. A man walked in and sat down at a table next to us to get on his laptop for a bit and then left. Maybe you need another place to work for a few minutes, this could be your new spot!

Aw, yum! I had been here a really long time ago, and their fries had been kinda soggy and the burger was okay, but I went back today and it was very yummy and everything was nice and crisp! I got the portabello burger, which was very nicely seasoned and the balsamic glaze with some sauteed onions and spring veggies and roasted red pepper was awesome, when some malt vinegar and hot sauce was also applied. I like the ability to make your own burger, and don’t have to run in to that«awkward» situation where you’re trying to explain what you do and don’t want on your burger, and they have reasonably priced bison burgers too, which rules! My dad got an order of parmesan fries, which… I guess, if you really like parmesan fries, it’s enough to feed a small army. Had a couple– they were nice and crisp and had that great parmesan-y tang to them. Definitely will be back to mix-and-match… was pleasantly surprised to see how much this place has grown in to itself. All-in-all, good flavors and left a very pleasant smell on my hands(which a good burger should do!)

I still love Burgerworks, but I’m taking them down a star. Let’s keep it real, the main attraction is still… just… a burger. For that, the price point is too high, especially if you add on any toppings, any sides, and any drinks. You can easily spend $ 50 here on dinner for two. For burgers. And it’s a chain! Meanwhile, it’s #RVAburgerweek and all they’re offering is their«classic» burger, which is just a regular burger. Not even any cheese. For $ 5. It’s normally $ 6.50. For just a burger. The bloom is off the rose, Burgerworks.
