I have only been here once and it was a couple months ago. I think they have a great concept but they need to work on their food. I ordered the grilled Reuben during my lunch break and took it back to my office. They did grill it on a panini press but the meat, kraut, and cheese was still cold. I had to put it in the microwave to eat it. A Reuben needs to be prepared on a flat grill with the meat, kraut, and cheese all heating on the grill. The pickle they included was quite peculiar. Not my taste. I drive by this place daily and I just see the same car(which I assume is the owner’s) as the only car parked in the lot and I feel bad. I know they don’t have the best location being on the side of a divided highway with no direct access from the other side, but I think if they made top notch food they could be a great place for lunch. I see they have added new sandwiches to their billboard and I would like to give them another chance, but when I see no customers in the parking lot, I wonder how fresh the food is.

Against my better judgement I went to a place that didn’t have a line or continuous foot traffic. The fries were dried out, with no seasoning on them. The sauce on the ribs was odd tasting and the ribs were clearly old and reheated, which was disappointing since I specifically asked if all of the meats were smoked each day and the cashier said, «yes». I will say it was pristinely clean which was very much appreciated. I am a Foodie, this place missed the mark completely.

Update: I received the same word-for-word response from the proprietor as Colin C. did. Apparently, they are no more appreciative of compliments than willing to accept or learn from criticism. I pass this location several times weekly since my experience, and their parking lot is usually empty at «peak» times. I’m sure this is a sign.

Very good food. I had pulled pork on an onion roll with the spicy sauce. It was just spicy enough and the pork tasted great. My husband got a sub and he said the meat was juicy and flavorful. Service was quick and the staff friendly. The place is carry out only but there is a couple tables outside to eat at on a nice day.

I’m gonna give this more of a 3 and a half. I believe that The sauce was good and the pull chicken is pretty good. The only negative thing I would have to say is the prices and portion sizes, but other than that definitely a place you should check out.

We dined here a few weeks ago and this was our impression. Overall my wife and I were unimpressed. As we live nearby, we were really excited that this place was opening. We have to say, though, after dining from there, we are disappointed. I had the pulled pork and my wife had the brisket. Both meats were dry. We come from Texas and we can tell when BBQ has been prepared ahead of time and then frozen or refrigerated and reheated. This was what this meat reminded us of. We found the sauces were mediocre at best, the sides soggy and stale. The service was very mundane, almost sullen, which really surprised us for a place billing itself as a small family owned business. Especially one that had only been open for a few weeks.

Great place! Strictly carryout, but there are benches available for waiting. Businesses are required by law to have a public bathroom if there is space to sit and eat, so I understand there not being a seating area. The interior is clean and pleasing to the eye, with easy to read and understand menus. Decent selection of food for decent prices. I’ve gotten the grilled cheese and BBQ bristket, both very good! You get a pickle(which is served in a small plastic bag to prevent it from touching your sandwich if you’d rather it not), and an adorable carved radish. I also recommend the Belgian sugar waffle! SO good!

It was ok. The establishment was very clean. Customer service was polite. I ordered a pastrami sandwich which was ok, nothing spectacular. Took about 10 minutes to get my order. The meat was still cold and the cheese wasn’t melted, but the bread was toasted. It came with a pickle. Overall it was ok, but Im not paying $ 8 for this sandwich again. I’d rather go to Panera.

Very much enjoyed the pulled pork combo. The sweet & mild sauce packed a lot of flavor, and having the option of an onion roll was a nice touch. Service was friendly and prompt! The sides were great: the cole slaw was fresh and had a bright, homemade flavor. Love how it was only lightly dressed, so it had great crunch. The pickle on the side was also fabulous: tasted like an overnight dill, the kind that’s still cucumber-y and just a bit sour. No factory-produced industrial food here! Looking forward to coming back for lunch again. I’m only sorry that there wasn’t a lunch counter along the window(no dine-in seating at all).

This evening we tried the over off of Crain Hwy(right near I-97, its right next to the Burger King in the old Wallmart shopping center near Southgate). Their take on BBQ is interesting. The family that owns/runs the store appears to be Russian and your sandwich will come with a radish and what appears to be home made pickles. The beef brisket sandwich was very good. My daughter had the pulled chicken and asked for sauce as she found it a little bland(which is rather odd for her). The sides were all pretty good, the greens could have been a little better, maybe some vinegar and a better chop. The mac and cheese was definitely home made and very good. All in all, the meats were somewhat bland(the brisket was seasoned fine, but the pulled pork and chicken could have used more seasoning), but the sauces were ok. The sauerkraut with pulled pork wasn’t what I expected, but was rather nice(even my daughter liked it and she hates sauerkraut). I almost feel like they should have perogies and borscht on the menu. We will definitely go back to them for sandwiches again some time. I worry however that they won’t last as their location is somewhat cut off from most of the local businesses there and they don’t have seating(strictly carryout other than the benches for waiting). Note, I originally wrote this as a personal review on my facebook wall, but after seeing the bad reviews here I am glad I still went first before looking here. This area needs more family owned businesses and they are competing with the likes of Urban BBQ and Mission BBQ. Both of those businesses are good, but there is plenty of room for these smaller mom and pop places. The Redolent Radish isn’t perfect and if you go there expecting only the traditional southern/mid-western BBQ you probably will be disappointed, but they are worth a try with an open mind.

My coworkers and I were so excited to try this place. Now we wish we hadn’t. Pro’s: Clean space Relatively Quick Service The place smelled great Con’s: I ordered the Nacho’s. When I asked how large the Nachos were, the woman taking orders wandered off to the back and brought back a to-go container full of chips. I’m pretty sure they’d been sitting out. The Nacho’s were served with everything on the side except the pulled chicken. The chicken had zero seasoning. The chips were definitely stale. All of the«fixin’s» appeared to be prepackaged/repackaged. The cheese was similar to gas-station nacho cheese, the salsa was likely the same mass produced stuff in the chips aisle of a grocery store, and the guacamole looked like it was squeezed out of a tube. Overall the entire meal was a huge disappointment. My coworkers got the pulled chicken and pulled pork. One of them has been sick all afternoon. I would not recommend eating here. Afterthought: I understand that this place was a dream of the owner’s and I hope that they can turn it around. The«idea» of the place is sound, but the execution and quality really needs to improve before I’d even consider eating here again.

Walked in and this place smelled great, looked clean and the staff was very nice. I got the pulled chicken entrée with the hot & spicy BBQ sauce on the side(since I didn’t know how spicy it’d be) The chicken itself was completely flavorless before applying the sauce. Once sauced it was mediocre. The Corn Pudding was okay after adding some salt. The Chicken soup was also rather bland. I’m personally not a fan of half-sour pickles so that’s neither here nor there. I went with two coworkers and their reports were«Pork was dry, coleslaw had an off putting taste» & «I think they gave me the display model of the nachos with as stale as these chips are.» None of us feel the need to go back Update: I will not change my review above nor comment on the following, only share the message I received from Philip F after writing the review. «I am the sole supporter of myself, my wife, my daughter, and my granddaughter. The fact that you have chosen to go to the internet and try to drive people away from my business makes me think you are an evil, and self-important person. We knew we would not please everyone with our offerings, but many people do enjoy what we have. If you don’t like it, don’t come back. Just because you can go on the internet and trash our business doesn’t mean you should.»

It’s unfortunate that others have endured disrespectful reactions from this establishment. I have not and enjoyed most of the food. The Reuben and pastrami was awesome. I love their half sour pickles and crispy radish garnish. The greens were a little salty and I was not a fan of the cornbread pudding. The brisket, smoked chicken wings, and pork ribs were juicy and flavorful. The entrance was a pain to get into, is there a way to make a way on the other side, through the parking lot?

I’m sure I will receive a very unprofessional response as other have when leaving negative reviews of this«restaurant». Just as other have said I was looking forward to a new place opening up in a locations that had been left vacant for years now. However, the terrible attitude of what we can only assume is the owner on here is setting this place up for certain failure.

Terrible! Sandwiches were mediocre at best, service was unfriendly and in sore need of education in both customer service and knowledge of their food product. Entrance and exit into the facility from the road is terrible.

If I could give no stars I would. When we called the man that answered sounded like he was sleeping g and had zero personality. The meat is dry as sand and completely flavorless. The macaroni and cheese in a box has more flavor than this slop. They give you a «pickle» in a ziplock bag that tastes like fish and is barely pickled. The half chicken was literally inedible. So dry and flavorless you couldn’t even swallow it. The Reuben tasted like it was something they would serve in prison. I have had better food in a Hospital Then this so called corn pudding was literally soggy corn bread smashed into a cup. None of the 3 of us could eat our meals. It takes a lot for me to call a restaurant and complain but I felt something had to be said. So I called and the wife answered and I explained. She then asked me to hold on. Finally the husband came to the phone and I politely explained that we couldn’t eat our lunch. He proceeded to say«WELLTHENYOUDONTHAVETOCOMEBACK«and then HUNGUPONME!!! AREYOUFREAKINGKIDDINGME!!! I was in the restaurant industry for many years in the past and cannot put into words how shocked I was with his response! I was not rude or nasty to him. You need to be able to take constructive criticism. This is NO way to start out a business and they WILLFAIL if this is how they conduct business. I’m SURE the next person won’t be so nice. So excited this location is finally open! I’ve been waiting ever since I saw the sign up. Good overall– I love the radish, pickle, and corn pudding that came with my beef brisket. The corn pudding was mildly sweet and savory– nice consistency. The brisket was a little bland and could have used some more seasoning when you eat it by itself — it was great with the BBQ sauce and brisket sauce. I wish it was dished up a little warmer. I had to microwave it when I got home. I added coleslaw on the side as an extra. It was good, but I prefer a little more creamy. The spices were spot on. They gave after dinner mints too! My husband and I forward to to trying some more of the other menu items.

The sandwiches are okay but the bun to meat ratio needs improvement. The meat was juicy and had a slightly smoked flavor.
