4stars for the view n the service. 3 stars for food. Among all food we ordered, surprisingly fries were the best. The rest was in «not bad n not good category» For an environment like this, you expect food would be much more relocated n matches the view. Unfortunately, the place and the place seemed lacking of some essence somehow.

I went to The View Grill for Mother’s Day Brunch. My parents are huge fans of Jeanine(the Chef) and love the gorgeous scenery. My first issue with my visit was the fact that it was buffet yet no one told us when making the reservations or when we called to confirm the reservations. The service was very poor. Our waitress was inattentive and at one point served us COLD(not lukewarm) coffee. When we told her, she didn’t even apologize. I think that the restaurant might have been short staffed because stations at the buffet were either empty or almost empty. The food at the buffet was tasteless. You can’t deny the location of this place. The scenery is definitely exquisite. I would give this place another shot to see if the sub-par service and food was due to the holiday.

My family gave me a birthday party on this past Saturday at The View Grill in Glen Cove. It was wonderful !!! I can’t recommend The View and Chef Jeanine enough! The food was absolutely delicious and Jeanine and her staff helped to make it a perfect event. We ended up with 70 people and they handled it with ease. So happy we went with them, it couldn’t have gone better anywhere else!

It’s definitely a hidden gem! You know it’s going to be an enjoyable meal when they start off with bringing fresh bread from scratch. The food was amazing and the portion was just as good! I would definitely recommend ordering the mussels to dip the amazing bread they bring. Strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to eat in Long Island.

One of the best restaurants on Long Island. A hidden gem that’s a bit hard to find as it’s off the beaten path. It’s on the grounds of the Glen Cove Golf Course. Google it. Chef Jeanine, formerly of Page One in Glen Cove, is creating a destination restaurant here on LI. Although we’ve been here a few times, tonight was Valentines Day dinner. $ 45 for a prix fixe 5 course dinner. Started with an oyster with mango sauce, next was carrot with fennel soup, then salad. I had pistachio crusted salmon with a raspberry reduction. Just wonderful. My date had the twin lobster tails(up-charge). Then a double dessert; strawberry shortcake and chocolate ganache pearls. Now, of course, who’s in the mood for romance after all that food? A gem. I am so glad this isn’t far from me.

Outstanding view with exceptional food !!! The owner is in a class by herself. We knew her from her previous restaurant and hadn’t seen her in a year or so but she made it a point to come out and give us a FANTASTIC greeting. The nice rolls with onions had just come out of the oven. We ordered the mussels and they came with a spicy sauce. We requested not spicy sauce and they willingly complied. Always more than willing to make the customer happy. The mussels were plump and juicy, a very nice size portion. The bread was incredible when dipped in that sauce. Their signature dish onion crusted chicken is tender, juicy and oh so flavorful; a very generous portion. My husband had the chicken accompanied by portobello mushroom and he also thought that it was terrific and although he is a very healthy eater, he also couldn’t finish it. The dishes are complimented with creamy mashed potatoes and fresh veggies. Although I was too full to have it Jeanine’s chocolate tower is to die for. A really memorable dessert !!! A memorable meal with a memorable view, owner and staff !!!

This was our second time eating here. We were disappointed the first time but hoped with chef change we would be happy. Food was terrible. I am not one to complain but i have eaten airplane and hospital food more appetizing. The service was exceptional, the views beautiful, the food… Terrible. Shame as this restaurant has potential to be premier restaurant on LI given its location.

Looking for a new place to eat away from the 4th of July traffic we ventured to the Sound view. When we pulled up the huge parking lot had about 8 cars in it. We were seated a few minutes after entering. We were given a table in the first dining room. The room was the size of my dining room at home. No joke. There was one huge table with about 6 adults &6 small children at one table and a table of four at another. The room was so small I couldn’t even hear my husband talking to me. There appeared to be another huge enclosed dining room next door with no one in it. I kindly asked if we could go in there as my head was about to explode from the noise. Fortunately the hostess understood & obliged. Once we were settled in the large, quiet dining room we were served bread in a basket with butter. I love bread but The bread was cold & rubbery. We pushed it aside. We were so hungry we ordered the Calamari wonton rolls. The description is appetizing. The dish is not. The outer layer had the texture of poster Board. The filling tasted like crabmeat not calamari. For entrees my husband ordered the onion crusted chicken. When he got it I immediately recognized it as the same dish served at Page One in Glen Cove! I didn’t like it at Page one & didn’t like it here either. My dish was the Cornmeal crusted catfish. I was excited because I love catfish & hadn’t had it in a long time. What a disappointment. The flaky crust lacked flavor. If not for the texture I wouldn’t have known I was eating fish at all. We saw the waiter three times in the hour & half we were there. He never checked on us, never offered another drink, nada. He did offer dessert which we wisely passed on.

It was so nice out we wanted to have dinner outside by the water for my birthday. We were planning on going to Bayville, but didn’t want to go to the Clam Bar or Wall’s Wharf. We wanted something a little more special. We had not been to The View in a long time. Once we learned that the same chef from Page One was now the owner, we took a chance. SO glad we did! The setting is stunning. The views are magical. But… and isn’t this always where you see the«but» in a waterfront restaurant? Usually you read«great views=bad food. NOTHERE. The food was even better than the view. We had the baked clams, deliciously buttery with lots of clams and just a little breading and they were absolutely delicious. We also had the Calamari Wontons which were a hit. For the main course comprised perfectly cooked soft shell crabs and butter poached lobster… so incredibly good! The end of the evening as capped with their homemade chocolate and almond gelato as the sun set and the ospreys returned to their nest feeding their three small babies. It could not have been a more perfect evening or dinner. Must mention our waiter, Matt, was great and an absolute gem. Everything about this restaurant is wonderful!

Better than average food at The View Grill. My wife and I were here for a concert. Not the ideal setting since the performer is staged between three separate dining rooms and a bar crowd makes no effort to keep the volume low during the performance. My wife had salmon but the veggies were alternately close to raw or just OK. I had the fish and chips. Our waiter said they were good and he wasn’t kidding. They were crisp and not at all soggy. The portion size was pretty reasonable as well. Service here could be better as it seems only two servers cover all tables. Our waiter was well-intentioned but he never did return with the extra tartar sauce I requested. No one brought ketchup despite the fact that I had fries. For dessert, the beignets were tasty and had a nice crunch but they were pretty sparse with the powdered sugar. The chocolate dipping sauce tasted just like someone warmed up chocolate pudding which was a bit of a let down. Still, I’d eat here again but it is a long drive to get to unless you have reason to be there.

Chef Jeanine is amazing! We had dinner there twice in a week and I ordered steak both times. Amazing! Onion chicken and starters we’re delicious too! All were cooked perfectly. Ambiance is amazing, even in the winter. We had a great time when we’ve been in the dining room or, just in the bar. Staff is friendly and helpful!

Chef Jeanine(formerly of Page One) is again doing her magic exclusively at The View Grill. I have had everything offered by Jeanine and like it all. Although a friend, I would not compromise myself just to hype a friend’s business. Jeanine’s team is building a fabulous venue for dining and large and smaller sized private parties. If you haven’t been here for a while, you should return for a fine dining experience. Oh, and while you are there enjoy the fabulous view of Long Island Sound.
