Nail Tek

This is my usual nail place, I called last night to find out how late they were open, he said 8 it was 7:45 but Tony insisted I come in, said they were still working. The owners are super nice. Everything is clean and the tools are new or autoclaved, and now they fit the tubs with a plastic liner every time. Yes they are very busy but I’ve always received good service. They fixed one of my nails for free and repainted them, all after they should have been closed. Yes sometimes the service is quick but I’ve been to other salons that take hours and still do a crappy job. If you want a little extra attention spend a little more and get one of the deluxe pedicures, it’s well worth it.

Man, this is one place of refuge for me whenever I want to unwind and get pampered. The staff are great, hospitable and thorough.
I really like how this place is managed. The manager is great at making sure all those who walk in are taken care of. Although there are times they are super busy and you end up waiting a while for someone to start your pedicure.
They prioritize having a very sanitary business. I love it. The pedicure tubs are lined with disposable plastic. I’m impressed. So impressed because most places I’ve been to, I’ve only seen women come in for a pedicure. The times I’ve come in there are men, MEN, who are getting pedicures. And these are MANLY men, like football loving men. Haha, but that’s a good thing if men are not timid to come and get their feet pampered too. Great service! Love them!

When I want to be pampered or even spoil myself a little I come here! I’ve been to different nail salons, but this has to be the best one in my area.
They really renovated the place. It’s clean, trendy, and comfortable. The staff are prompt and do a great job every time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel like a princess/​queen for an hour or so!

Leaving. after 10 years. I’m a long time customer and I am going somewhere else. The service has never been this bad! This is the second time in a row that they have cut me doing my nails. The shape of my nails has been wrong the last three visits. They seem to rush through everything! The new technicians dont do as well as the ones that are gone. So what if they know my name. just do a good job! Time to move on for me.

Went here with my 2 daughters for some mother daughter time. We were greeted promptly and asked to pick our colors they had a lot to pick from. We were then escorted back to our pedicure baths where we were able to sit by each other… The pedicure was great the polish job was excellent, they provided free nail art for my youngster daughters toes. They were able to match no chip polish for my fingers to match my toes. I will go back…

This place is the best! Ive been coming here for years! Eyebrow waxes too. Great job with the no chip and regular pedi and manis. Cash only for tips but otherwise you can use card to pay. I used to come for dances in high school and i would wait to come only here when i was in college. I even go now and take all my friends and my sister and mom love it here. I even take some guy friends too. Its the best! They also have coupons on the jewel receipts and val packs that come in the mail. I would def recommend it!

Decided to give Nail Tek a try for my daugher’s 15^th birthday. We both had manicures (french for me, fuschia with a flower painted for my daugher). It’s been one day, 24 hours, and three of my nails have chipped off. I asked her to make the french ‘moon’ smaller, as it was far too large, and she was not happy to do so. Our manicures took less than 15 minutes — no hand massage, no cleaning the nails, no service.
I will never go back there — and suggest you take your business elsewhere. A manicure that lasts less than 24 hours is a major rip-​off.
Very bad customer service, rude manicurists, and VERY over-​priced services.

I went to Nail Tek for new set of acrylics and a pedicure. The pedicure was atrocious. She trimmed my cuticles but that was all she did, and I hadn’t had a pedi in several weeks. She seemed very concerned that I refused the salt scrub (extra charge), yet failed to give me any kind of leg massage. My acrylics went better. She was quick and they appeared to be good, until the next day. I noticed my thumb nail had 3 hairline cracks in it. Today, 4 days after my visit. All my nails are cracked. I paid a great deal of money to this place for noithing.

Well, it depends who works with you. Some girls are nice, some are rude. I had my nails done there quite often, and usually I would have some discomfort for a day or two after that… like etching, pain… I thought it was acceptable, but recently I found out about MMA… and it looks like they might have used it. The symptoms (described on the Internet) are very similar… Does anybody know for sure if they use MMA or EMA for Acrylic nails???
BTW, the vetilation system isn’t good… I remeber it stunk there when I had my nails done!
Does anybody know a reputable salon in the area? And I need to know if they use MMA or EMA!

I have been going to this place for years. They do a good job for a fair price. I find the people to be very nice and accommodating.

I just went here on a whim and really liked it. It is totally renovated, really clean, lots of nice brands of polish and colors. My lady was Sue and she did a great pedi. I wasn’t in the mood for chatting and she got the hint and did a nice massage on my feet/​legs. Polish job was great and she also removed a lot of my calluses. I’m a fan and would go back. Prices were reasonable.

Sloppy, no eye contact, I felt rushed, poor English, old salon looks crappy although they are remodeling a suite next door, opening soon. Did not do 3 coats like I asked (tipped $ 5 before service ended). **ONE GOOD THING: selection of colors on no-​chip manis**

I sure wish I would have read some of the reviews before I went. Got a mani/​pedi right before leaving for a California vacation. I should checked better, one toe was cut crooked and painted (french) that way. Made my toes look deformed. My manicure didnt last two days, chips galore on my trip. What a disappointment…

My friend is a regular here and when I told her I needed a mani/​pedi, she made us appointments and got us in. This place is crazy busy and apparently quite popular with the Real Housewives of DuPage County and the teens that will one day follow in their Manolos.
Cattiness aside, they were nice, fast and did a great job. I apparently left my phone there and didn’t realize it until they had closed. By the time I figured it out, they’d attempted to call someone in my contact list and then before I got there the next day, they also called my friend to try to locate me. I was so grateful they made the attempts they did.
My pedicure lasted for well over 3 weeks, my manicure didnt fare as well, but that’s mostly due to me being clumsy.
I have since been back and enjoyed my experience again. It was the middle of the week, middle of the day and they were still busy.
Their location is perfect — right by Binny’s, Trader Joe’s and Dairy Queen. Talk about one stop shopping!

Clean salon, fast pedicures and average pricing. I took a friend and two young girls here for some girl time. My friend and I were happy with our pedicures the complaint is with the girls. All they needed was nail polish on their hands. They rushed it and did a poor job. In addition they really try to upsell here so be prepared!
